- INTO ETERNITY New Song Posted At Gigantour’s MySpace Page
Your first chance to hear the new song, “Severe Emotional Distress,”
from Into Eternity’s forthcoming album, The Scattering Of Ashes,
is now exclusively at the Gigantour MySpace Page here. Officially announced
last week as part of Megadeth’s Gigantour, the band is being hailed
as “inarguably the decade’s most original band” (Explicitly
Intense). Some dates for this tour have been announced, with more to
come. Keep checking the official Gigantour website here, as well as
their Century Media artist page and the Into Eternity website here,
for more dates as they are confirmed.
Set for release on Oct. 3, The Scattering Of Ashes has already been
described as “a landmark triumph” by Brave Words & Bloody
Knuckles, and more colorfully by vocalist Stu Block as “over the
top Metal Madness.” Mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Killswitch
Engage, Arch Enemy) the new album’s clear production brings forward
their ingenious multi-leveled musical dynamics and fearless experimentation
with style and genre. More information about the band, photos, mp3s
and album artwork can be found here.
- ANGTORIA Videorelease/Albumlyrics for download
The Video for ANGTORIA´s "God Has A Plan For Us All"
is due for release in September
It will be distributed worldwide to most Metal and Rock TV stations.
Not long after the release it will also be available for download on
http://www.myspace.com/angtoriaofficial
and http://www.angtoria.com
It will be announced when the Video is available for download.
Sarah´s words about the lyrics to the Videotrack
"The song covers two subjects but they are both linked. Written
about a man who preaches gods word yet finds it acceptable to sexually
abuse children. Also this song describes the pitiful chilché
used by many religous people who can´t offer any other explanation
as to why people suffer in their life. Rape, murder, poverty, whatever
it may be, the only excuse that can be offered is: "God Has A Plan
For Us All"!
-The video was filmed at two locations, a very impressive and beautiful
church (Njurunda Kyrka) and an abandoned deteriorated building, over
a three day period and due to the lyrical theme of the song it was filmed
as a "short movie". It contains footage of as well the band
as Chris´ 5 year old daughter Saga who played the child, Toni
Davey (wife of Dani Filth in Cradle Of Filth and covergirl on the album)
who played the child as a grown up to a 35 piece church choir and a
priest played by Pierre Ragnehag!
-A video diary along with pictures and soon also video footage from
the making of the video can be found in the "Diaries" section
of the ANGTORIA-website
Many have asked and Now the lyrics to the album "God Has A Plan
For Us All" is finally available to read on the site! You can find
the lyrics aswell as Sarah´s comments about them at this location

- CODE OF PERFECTION BRINGS INSPIRED GUITAR PLAYING BACK TO METAL
Code of Perfection is re-introducing the concept of exciting music based
on frenetic, masterful guitar playing with its first release, “Last
Exit for the Lost,” out now on Limb Music.
The innovative guitarist Thorsten Koehne, who previously spent time
slinging his axe for Attack and Demon Drive, is the mainman behind Code
of Perfection. “It started out as my solo project but during the
production grew up to be a real band,” he said. “We hope
to play live a lot!”
The good portion of “Last Exit for the Lost”’s songs
came from Koehne’s repertoire of demoed material, which he had
hoped to one day record in a professional studio. To do that, he enlisted
the help of some friends, like drummer Frank Kraus, whom he had played
with in Demon Drive. “I knew about his musical and technical abilities
so he was first choice for drums,” Koehne said.
Others came into the fold through recommendations. “Our producer
Jochen Mayer suggested Carsten ‘Lizard’ Schulz for vocals
and he also fit in just perfectly,” said Koehne. “He has
an amazing voice! Then Carsten brought in Keisuke Nishimoto for bass.
He’s like the Japanese Billy Sheehan on bass and just an awesome
virtuoso on his instrument. Again, he just fit in perfectly!”
Code of Perfection wraps all sorts of musical elements into its music,
resulting in a fascinating metal mixture rife with crazy songwriting
and fast and furious guitars.
“I see a lot of bands today that just gear towards a certain sound
they wanna do and that’s it,” said Koehne. “They don’t
seem to be challenging their musical and technical abilities on their
instruments very much, and it looks like they don’t really have
fun playing. With Code of Perfection we always try to play to the limit
and as perfect as we can and it’s just fun to be able to play
what you want and really fly on your instrument.”

- WASTEFALL - making prog metal METAL again!
"If you are looking for something a little different in the land
of progressive metal, you can do no wrong than to pick Self Exile up.
It's no doubt going to be one of the most talked about albums of 2006."
4.5/5 - Sea of Tranquility
Greece's balls-heavy progressive act Wastefall's third album Self-Exile
is taking the scene by storm, both with critics, connoisseurs and clinically-addicted
fans of both progressive metal and straight-up monstrous thrash. Fans
across the country (and those that travel inter-continentally for festivals)
were churning with excitement to check out the bands' first ever US
appearance at this year's Progpower Fest, but, as we see too many times,
immigration got in the way. Here's an official statement from the band:
"We unfortunately have to announce that WASTEFALL will not be participating
in this years "PROGPOWER USA" festival in Atlanta, USA on
September 16th. When applying for the visa to be able to perform in
USA, we ran into some unexpected problems with the Greek authorities,
which have made it impossible for us to go. We're really sorry about
this, as we know a lot of fans had been looking forward to seeing us
in USA for the first time ever, and we ourselves had been looking very
much forward to the whole experience of our first gig outside of Greece.
We would like to extend our gratitude to both our label and management
for doing what was possible in order to help us solve the problems,
and especially we would like to thank Glenn Harveston of ProgPower USA
for helping us beyond the call of duty on trying to make ends meet.
We really hope to be able to go to ProgPower USA another year and make
up for this." - Wastefall, 07/2006
Unfortunate news, but that snag will not impede on this bands' impact
on the metal community this year, and they're fully supporting this
album to the best of their abilities.

- JOE SATRIANI, STEVE VAI AND FRIENDS
ANNOUNCE BENEFIT CONCERT
PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT MUSIC INDUSTRY VETERAN AND FRIEND - CLIFF CULTRERI
(Los Angeles, CA) Legendary guitarists JOE SATRIANI and STEVE VAI announce
plans for a benefit concert for music industry veteran and friend, Cliff
Cultreri. "The Cliff Show" will take place on Saturday, September
30th at the House Of Blues, Hollywood, and will feature performances
by both Satriani and Vai, as well as special guests to be announced.
Cliff Cultreri is the A&R executive who 'discovered' both Satriani
and Vai as well as many other popular recording artists, while working
at Relativity Records. Cultreri is suffering from a host of Auto-Immune
and Connective-Tissue disorders that are attacking his immune system,
a one in 100 million occurrence that causes severe pain and physical
problems. Satriani and Vai hope to raise funds to help Cultreri and
his family's financial needs.
Cultreri is currently VP of A&R at Koch Entertainment where he has
worked with such artists as RZA, B.G., Turk, Ying Yang Twins, Corrupt,
Death Row, Big Gip & Good Mob, Master P, and many others. During
his years in the industry, Cultreri has served as A&R for a number
of top names, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth, Billy Sheehan
& Talas, Peter Frampton, Megadeth, Corrosion Of Conformity, Exodus,
Anthrax, Death, Venom, Slash's Snakepit, Cradle Of Filth, Godflesh,

all genres of music. In addition, he has received 18 Grammy nominations,

for "Song of the Year" and "Album of the Year" with
Bone Thugs 'N Harmony for which he served as A&R.
"Cliff has been a musical force and guiding light in my career
and my life for 2 decades. He introduced and championed my music to
the music business. He is a dear friend and musical ally and quite the
guitar player himself," said Satriani. "Steve and I wanted
to help Cliff and the idea of a show in LA with other members of the
guitar community seemed to be the obvious way to celebrate and help
him."

- New NEW DRY KILL LOGIC Album Sep 19th
OF VENGEANCE AND VIOLENCE IN STORES WORLDWIDE 9/19!
What up everyone Cliff here. Just wanted to write and say what’s
up, and thank everyone that has picked up a copy of The Magellan Complex.
The response to the EP has been great, and we’re psyched about
all the positive feedback we’ve been getting on the music and
the DVD (yes, we know Phil is out of his mind). From Victim to Killer
definitely represents the next level of aggression we achieved on this
new album, and we can't wait for you to hear the rest of the tracks!
Its definitely in your face, aggressive music - we've never compromised
our integrity for a quick glimpse of success, never wrote a record with
the pipe dream of crossover radio accessibility & never turned our
backs on the style of music we write or the people that appreciate it.
We’re excited to announce that we will be heading to AUSTRALIA
for the 1st time ever – we’ve been added to the Fear Factory
/ Devildriver tour for 3 shows (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne) –
check the dates below for all the info! We can’t wait!!
We’re also planning our return to Europe – we had such a
blast time that we have to come back and party with you guys again!
This time we’ll be hitting Switzerland and Italy as well as Germany,
the UK and France, with plenty more to come – confirmed dates
are below and keep checking back for all the latest dates!!
And don’t worry about the US – plans are in the works for
hitting some of our favorite places to play as well. We’re working
it out now, so be sure to stay tuned!!
Zip it up and zip it out!!!

- Define the soundtrack!
IN THE NAME OF THE KING is an action/fantasy feature film, based on
the popular videogame, DUNGEON SIEGE. It is a tale of knights and kings,
great courage and noble causes, magic and adventure. The film follows
the journey of Farmer (Jason Statham) from simple family man to heroic
prince. An unspeakably evil army rampages across what was an idyllic,
peaceful world, destroying everything in its path, looking to conquer
the mighty Castle Ebb and vanquish the King himself! Amidst this backdrop
of war in the Kingdom of Ehb, between the evil Gallian (Ray Liotta)
and the ruling King Konreid (Burt Reynolds), Farmer sets out to find
his kidnapped wife, Solana (Claire Forlani), and avenge the death of
his son, who was killed by animal warriors called Krugs. This is a passionate,
epic, fantasy adventure with non-stop action, vividly drawn characters,
and a story line that will drawn you in with every passing, magical
minute. Just as "Lord of the Rings" transported us to another
world and time, IN THE NAME OF THE KING will lift your heart, mind and
spirit. It will make you believe in magic, nobility, and the power of
love, as Farmer's devotion to his family knows no boundaries.
The best thing is: You can decide which tracks will be on the soundtrack
to "In The Name Of The King"! One song is already chosen:
"Turn The Page" from the brandnew album "A Twist In The
Myth" of BLIND GUARDIAN. The rest is up to YOU!

- FIREBALL MINISTRY FRONT MAN TO 'MARRY' BAM MARGERA
Today's Philadelphia Inquirer reports that when skateboard star and
MTV personality Bam Margera marries his fiancee Missy Rothstein this
winter, the ceremony will be conducted by FIREBALL MINISTRY front man
James A. Rota. An ordained minister, Rota is a longtime friend of Margera;
his band was hand-picked by Margera to appear on his "Viva La Bands"
compilation last year, as well as a corresponding tour. On Margera's
Sirius Satellite Radio program, Radio Bam, last week, Rothstein said
that the wedding will take place on a Du Pont estate in Delaware before
at least 500 guests.
As previously reported, FIREBALL MINISTRY -- who in recent months have
toured alongside such heavyweights of rock and metal as Disturbed, H.I.M.,
Opeth, Nevermore, Clutch and CKY -- will return to the road this weekend
in support of Alice Cooper.

On Aug. 21, three of the bands featured on the new female tribute band
compilation Girls Got Rhythm -- ThundHerStruck, Zepparella and Ms. Fits

Key Club on the Sunset Strip, sees the groups open for Metal Skool,
a "comedy tribute" band with an extremely popular Monday night
residency at the venue. Doors open at 8 p.m., and Ms. Fits take the
stage an hour later. All attendees will receive raffle tickets at the
door, and one lucky winner will be chosen at random to receive a Champagne
Sparkle Rock Candy guitar (http://www.daisyrock.com/products/rockcandy/rc.htm)
generously provided by Daisy Rock Guitars.
Featuring cover art by Alan Forbes (AFI, Queens of the Stone Age, Black
Crowes), Girls Got Rhythm is the first compilation album issued by Liquor
and Poker Music, and comemmorates not only the label's third anniversary,
but also its two favorite subjects: women and rock n' roll. Part Cold
Gin and part Ace of Spades, Liquor and Poker -- which over the course
of its first 36 months released two dozen albums by international superstars
The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies and Hanoi Rocks, as well as domestic
upstarts such as Fireball Ministry and Nebula -- is the rock arm of
The Century Family's flagship imprint, Century Media Records.

- MY DYING BRIDE: New Album Title Revealed
Croatian webzine Sound Chaser recently conducted an interview with MY
DYING BRIDE bassist Ade Jackson. An excerpt from the chat follows:
Sound Chaser : Your new album should be out later this year... Can you
give us some basic info about it?
Ade: "Well … the album will be called 'A Line Of Deathless
Kings' and I'm listening to it now. It has nine songs and is approximately
one hour long. We recorded it at Academy Studios in Dewsbury and it
was mixed at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire — the same place that
'34.788%' was mixed. We are all tremendously proud of this album. It
hasn't been easy to record, not just a case of turning up at the studio
and recording something — there has been a lot of writing, re-writing,
changes, cuts, additions, discussion, thought, ideas (good and bad)
and a whole host of other emotions and the end result really reflects
that. Listening back to some of the early recordings and comparing them
to the final product there is a world of difference and I hope it shows
to everyone else as well. I wish you could all hear the evolution as
well rather than just the final polished product."
Sound Chaser: Where will the new album go both lyric and music–wise?
Ade: "The album will be typically MY DYING BRIDE. We never set
any boundaries; we just write what feels good to us. We write music
that we would like to listen to, in a way. I played it to one of my
good friends and he commented that, if you didn't know who it was you
would know it was MY DYING BRIDE immediately. We seem to have our own
particular sound and way or writing songs — something I can't
explain. When we get together, 'it' happens."
Sound Chaser: Obviously, fans always have certain expectations. Is that
burdening for you as artists?
Ade: "It's not necessarily a burden, but as much as we want people
to appreciate our music, there is no way we can please everybody. Each
individual has a favorite MY DYING BRIDE album and would love us to
keep reproducing that period of our recording history, but we move on
musically, as we have to… not in any really conscious or pre-meditated
way, as though we have a master plan before we start to write or record.
It is a very emotional and organic process. We all know when something
sounds right and when the music is MY DYING BRIDE with the feelings
of sorrow and blackness."

- INTO ETERNITY Drummer Jim Austin To Perform With Band On Gigantour
“INTO ETERNITY are inarguably the decade’s most original
band.” Explicitly Intense
Canada’s Into Eternity is thrilled to announce that longtime recording
drummer Jim Austin will be joining them on their 2006 Gigantour dates.
Not able to tour with the band for their five 2005 North American tours,
Austin is ecstatic to be able to perform with the band for this run
of dates. “It's been two years since I left the Into Eternity
camp - and when I was asked to record the fourth album, The Scattering
Of Ashes, I was truly excited! It was great to play a few live shows
with them again at New England Hardcore Festival and opening for Gamma
Ray. Scattering Of Ashes is the most challenging album to date and is
definitely my best foot forth, drumming wise. I'm also extremely excited
to be able to join the Gigantour with some of my favorite bands. Just
to share the stage with Megadeth is an honor I am seriously losing sleep
over every night that passes by - as the shows come closer.”
Last week the first single, “Severe Emotional Distress,”
from the band’s forthcoming album was premiered on Gigantour’s
MySpace page here and later posted on Gigantour’s website here.
With more than 20,000 listens, the song is a definite success for Into
Eternity. Set for release on Oct. 3, The Scattering Of Ashes has already
been described as “a landmark triumph” by Brave Words &
Bloody Knuckles, and more colorfully by vocalist Stu Block as “over
the top Metal Madness.” Mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Killswitch
Engage, Arch Enemy) the new album’s clear production brings forward
their ingenious multi-leveled musical dynamics and fearless experimentation
with style and genre. More information about the band, photos, mp3s
and album artwork can be found here.
- DAYLIGHT DIES VIDEO PREMIERE
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records proudly announces the online premiere
of "Lies That Bind," the first video from Daylight Dies. Beginning
9am EST tomorrow (August 9) fans can view the video at both label and
band MySpace pages. Bring your browser to www.myspace.com/candlelightrecordsusa
or www.myspace.com/daylightdies
(video will be available for streaming and additionally available for
downloading by right-clicking and saving the file to your desktop).
The video will also be available via YouTube.com and the band's official
website located at www.daylightdies.com.
Filmed outside the band's home base of Raleigh, North Carolina, the
Ramon Boutviseth directed clip features the full band with local actors
in a dark and compelling visual storyline. "It was a scorching
hot and humid summer day," recalls drummer Jesse Haff. "We
filmed inside a filthy, decaying building complex and later moved on
to a wrickety wooden salt-mine platform. And let us not forget to mention
entire walls on fire! Ramon understood the importance of including a
narrative to convey the song's lyrical and musical content. It's incredible
what he's brought to life."
Released earlier this year, Dismantling Devotion is the second full-length
recording from the popular five-piece. Mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination
Street Studios (Opeth/Soilwork) and mastered by Thomas Eberger at The
Cutting Room (Opeth/The Hives), Blabbermouth says, "Dismantling
Devotion is 53 minutes of metallically heavy and sorrowfully suffocating
songwriting... the songs are not meant to be eaten as snacks; each is
a full-course meal." Digital Metal adds, "Dismantling Devotion
just enthralls and captivates with its blending of moods and perfectly
paced songwriting."
Daylight Dies recently performed to capacity audiences alongside labelmates
Emperor at New York's BB King Blues Club. The band are currently preparing
for their first tour in years supporting Moonspell and long-time friends
Katatonia. The tour kicks off in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 20
and will conclude on November 19 in Hartford, Connecticut. Complete
listing of dates is available at www.candlelightrecordsusa.com.
- Swedish Progressive metal act 'TREASURE LAND' rises from the ashes!
Treasure Land, the Swedish progressive metal band who released two highly
acclaimed CDs in 1997, and 1998 has returned with a vengeance. After
some years of writing new songs, producing other bands, writing guitar
books, and doing clinics... Guitarist Jonas Hörnqvist reformed
Treasure Land with a new lineup.
The two new members of the band are Rick Altzi on vocals, and Mathias
Scheffler on keyboards. Rick, whose voice resambles singers like Ronnie
James Dio and Jeff Scott Soto, has a vocal presence and vocal capabilities
far beyond anything you've ever heard previously from the band. Keyboard
player Mathias Scheffler studied music at the renowned K.I.T. (Keyboard
Institute Of Technology) in Hollywood in the early 90's. His musical
knowledge is absolutely amazing. Not only can he play as fast as the
best out there, but his melodic sense and timing are also top notch.
Guitarist Jonas Hörnqvist states "The current lineup that
we have is the strongest lineup we've had throughout Treasure Land's
existence".
Treasure Land is currently in the studio recording a 3 song Demo which
they will use for showcasing their new material to record labels all
over the world.
The new material is described as straightforward/in your face metal
interlaced with strong neoclassical elements.
The newer music is also a bit darker and more eerie than the previous
Treasure Land material and consists of lyrics that deal with situations
which we face every day around the world.
The band is really excited about their new material and is very much
looking forward to playing live again.

- EXTREME legends THE HAUNTED and death metal overlords AKERCOCKE will
headline this year's DAMNATION FESTIVAL.
Ragga-punks SKINDRED and the debauched MISTRESS will join them to complete
two stages of uncompromising and diverse metal.
The bands mark a massive scoop for the growing UK-focussed feast of
metal set to take place at Manchester's Jilly's Rockworld and Music
Box on October 15. The Haunted performance will be a UK festival exclusive,
while Terrorizer Stage headliners Akercocke will also be making a rare
live appearance in Manchester.
Festival spokesman Gavin McInally said: "With the exclusive capture
of The Haunted, Akercocke and arguably the UK's hottest live band right
now in Skindred, Damnation Festival now offers fans the most diverse
and genuinely exciting bill the UK will see this year.
"Italian jazz, raw punk and extreme death, all by seasoned and
highly respected live performers - it's going to be an event to remember.
"Despite the legendary big names, we haven't lost focus on why
Damnation Festival was born, and again, this year will also see some
of the finest rising talent from our shores wow fans come October 15th.
"Evile, Kingsize Blues, Head-On, Murder One, Biomechanical and
Mistress are a pick of England's finest, and we've even extended a warm
invite to two of Scotland's top extreme bands; Man Must Die and Madman
Is Absolute."
Death-peddling thrashers THE HAUNTED stunned the music world with their
self-titled debut. A decade later the Swedes show no sign of relenting.
Peter Dolving and his lads will shake off the confines of the studio
to prove this in a one-off live date at Damnation.
Satanic noisemakers AKERCOCKE will strike the final blow on Terrorizer's
metal hordes with a barrage of black metal death, topping a line-up
that boasts Stampin' Ground, Ephel Duath and Send More Paramedics. They
warned fans: "Manchester beware, we are coming to ruin lives with
a crushing assault of necromantic terror blasts and face melting guitar
work."
SKINDRED will whip up a serious clash of cultures on a Jagermeister
Stage by unleashing their awesome mix of reggae and metal with classic
anthems like "Nobody" and "Set It Off". Unrivalled
enthusiasm and a boisterous frontman have earned them a solid reputation
as one of Britain's best live bands.
Unfortunately, The Axis Of Perdition have been forced to pull out due
to personal reasons, so it's up to depraved sludge mob MISTRESS to sharpen
the nasty Terrorizer bill. Monstrous slabs of doom and drunken debauchery
big enough to fill the hole left in Iron Monkey's wake, delivered by
the godly Dave Cunt and Mick Kenney. Your ears will never be the same
again.
The second instalment of UK-focussed metal will again take place across
two stages in Manchester's Jilly's Rockworld and Music Box. Fourteen
bands will grace the heavy JAGERMEISTER Stage and the even heavier TERRORIZER
Stage. A Terrorizer spokesman said: "We are proud to once again
be involved, as the most brutal metal acts on the planet converge upon
Manchester this October for Damnation Festival 2006.
"It's one more giant nail in the coffin of corporate rock."
Tickets for Damnation Festival 2006are on sale now through Seetickets,
Ticketline, Manchester's Piccadilly Box Office, and Liverpool's Radio
City Box Office. For further information about the event visit:

- SPV to unleash UNLEASHED worldwide this October
SPV has announced the signing of Swedish death metal masters UNLEASHED
to a worldwide deal.
Known for their skillfully penned, Viking-themed songs and explosive
live performances, UNLEASHED are poised to make a major impact this
fall with the release of their eighth full-length album, titled "Midvinterblot".
"We have more qualified songs to choose from than ever before,
and I am very confident that this will be the best UNLEASHED album ever,"
frontman Johnny Hedlund had previously stated about the CD. "Our
mission is to create one of the most memorable records in the history
of death metal!!! This one will be slightly faster than 'Sworn Allegiance'.
The songs will be anthems in the true traditional UNLEASHED way and
will have you screaming along with the choruses. The guitar sound will
be taking a step towards brutality and grind. The drums are the closest
we have ever come to recording a 'live' kind of intensity. The vocals?
Well, not far away from 'Sworn Allegiance'... just add a little harshness
and a slightly deep aggression to that sound and you'll get the picture
right there. Expect nothing but one of the most memorable records in
the history of death metal."
UNLEASHED utilized the services of stand-in drummer Jonas Tyskhagen
(INCARDINE, PELLE & THE POORBOYS) for their appearance at the Metalmania
festival in Katowice, Poland in early March after the group's regular
skinsman, Anders Schultz was hospitalized following a lung-collapse.
UNLEASHED's seventh studio album, "Sworn Allegiance", was
released in 2004 through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2002's
"Hell's Unleashed" was recorded and mixed by Fredrik Folkare
at Chrome Studios and mastered by Peter In de Betou of Tailor Maid Productions
(DIMMU BORGIR, AMON AMARTH, KATATONIA).

- EMPEROR ANNOUNCE ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCES
Notodden, Norway: After triumphantly headlining the annual Wacken Open
Air Festival and completing recent capacity performances in America,
Emperor today announce two additional performances for 2006. Scheduled
Saturday, October 7 Emperor will headline the fifth annual Motstoy Festival
in the band's hometown of Notodden. Formed in 2002 by local youth and
supportive arts organizations, this year's festival will also include
appearances by Red Harvest, Mortiis, She Said Destroy and Pagan's Mind,
among others.
”The Motstoy festival is a non-profit organization situated in
Notodden that my company Mnemosyne Productions has endorsed since its
start in 2002," says vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn. "As it is
a no-alcohol arrangement with no age limit, it is a great opportunity
for Emperor to play a local show and at the same time give younger fans
a chance to see us live.” Ticket and sponsorship information can
be found at the festival's official site located at www.motstoy.com.
Emperor additionally confirm their return to England for an exclusive

Destroy.
"It’s great to finally come back to England with Emperor,"
says Samoth. "England is where we first started out in the early
90’s; signing to Candlelight Records and heading out on our first
real tour. We’ve always had a strong following in England, both
press and fans, and we’ve built up a strong relationship throughout
the years with the folks at Candlelight Records and Plastic Head, so
it was a very obvious choice for us to return to the United Kingdom.
All hail & see you soon!"
Emperor's final album, Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise,
was released October 2001. In 2004, Candlelight Records reissued the
band's four genre-defining albums, Wrath of the Tyrants, In the Nightside
Eclipse, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk and IX Equilibrium; each featuring
bonus footage and material previously unavailable on both European and
US-licensed versions. All recordings are available as part of Candlelight's
vinyl collectors series on sale at exclusive retailers worldwide or

- NUCLEAR ASSAULT LOUDER HARDER FASTER DVD out October 10, 2006!
Long one of the most brutal metal bands on the planet, Nuclear Assault
continues to assault your senses with their first-ever DVD release,
Louder Harder Faster. Featuring all your Nuclear Assault favorites,
Louder Harder Faster features both 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround sound
mixes, and features a jam-packed three hours of footage.
In addition to the recent performance (taped on June 5, 2005), Louder
Harder Faster also includes such extra bits as vintage live footage,
slide shows (put to the original Survive demos), music videos, in the
studio footage, unreleased songs, and an interview with longtime members
Danny Lilker and Glenn Evans. Originally formed back in 1984, bassist
Lilker witnessed the birth of thrash metal first as an original member
of Anthrax, as well as a crucial component to S.O.D., Nuclear Assault,
and Brutal Truth.
While many thrash metal bands tempered their aggression with melody,
Nuclear Assault has stuck to their guns throughout and in the process,
released such thrash classics as 1988s Survive and 1989s Handle with
Care.

- Napalm Death Join PETA2 To “Save #99”
Look for ads this month rolling out with Napalm Death supporting PETA2.com’s
“Save #99” campaign, to view click here. The anti-vivisection
ad quotes Napalm Death vocalist/activist Barney Greenway as saying,
“Vivisection is one of the ultimate acts of disrespect, and conclusions
from it are questionable. Time to consign it to the history books.”
The full-page ad centers around a primate “#99” who “lived
in a cage in a laboratory in Vienna, VA. Everyday, workers forced tubes
up his nose and down his throat to pump in and test a mysterious experimental
substance. It made him sick and weak, and his hair fell out.”
The ad continues asking readers to, “Join Barney in speaking out
against cruel vivisection experiments on primates. #99 couldn’t
stop the abuse - but you can.” The first chance North American
readers will have to see the ad is in this month’s issue of Decibel
Magazine.
Napalm Death’s new album, Smear Campaign, is set for release Sept.
19. An extremely vicious sonic assault, the album will be unleashed
during the band’s North American tour with Hatebreed, The Black
Dahlia Murder, Exodus, First Blood and Despised Icon. Information on
the band, mp3s, pictures and dates for the “Monsters Of Mayhem”
tour can be found here. Keep checking back as more dates are added to
the tour.
- Echo Us: The Tide Decides
A little mid summer cleaning house and update on Echo Us.
The second album is entitled "The Tide Decides". The track
listing as is follows:
1. From Snow To Sea
2. We Surfaced
3. Trans-Atlantic
4. State Of Expectation (myspace rough mix: www.myspace.com/echous
)
5. Echo Us
6. The Tide Decides
7. Fantastic Elevations
8. Descending From The Dream
9. Shooting Scenes
10. Out At The Edge Of The World
11. Bon Voyage
Lever and Pedal Harp: Raelyn Olson
Viola: Teri Untalan
Bass Guitars: Aaron Bell
Ethan Matthews: All else
About the album:
The Tide Decides is a world within the ethereal universe of Echo Us,
a project conceived by American born composer Ethan Matthews. The Tide
Decides brings forth the first conceptual work by Echo Us, which focuses
on birth and death concepts and the shifts in the environment that propel
the human race and earth in which we inhabit. In a time when most artists
seek to express the simplicity that society desires, Echo Us aim to
analyze and dissect the complexities of the world and challenge the
listener, while at the same time forming a cohesive work built on repeating
themes and atmospheres. Intimate, societal and political themes are
all discussed within the timeline of a sole character, living out their
experience and listening to the internal tide that propels us all.
Absolute Probability will go into hiding after awhile. It was never
my great intention to start a record label, although I left the door
open at the time to pursue the possibility. For now, The Tide Decides
will still be released under the Absolute Probability imprint unless
things change. But, I won't be pursuing any outside releases and the
website may be removed in the coming months.
The Tide Decides will be a very limited release. For now the schedule
is pointing to early - mid 2007.
There is a sample of an early mix of State of Expectation up on myspace.
It's not mastered and in final form but gives an idea of what the album
is about musically.
I've been doing a lot of clearing house and installing new equipment
in my little studio here, and that is mostly what is taking all the
time with this (besides the obsessive need for completeness in all facets).
All the best.

- INTO ETERNITY - Reveal New Album Artwork!
Technically progressive metal band INTO ETERNITY “…in whose
music heavy metal’s potential is born anew”, (Metal Maniacs
US) have unveiled the coverartwork of “The Scattering Of Ashes”
designed by Mattias Noren (Stratovarius, Evergrey).
The album is scheduled for a September 25th 2006 European release. Vocalist
Stu Block commented, “Mattias designed the first three INTO ETERNITY
album covers (“Into Eternity”, “Dead Or Dreaming”
and “Buried in Oblivion”). They have all been amazing but
yet different in their own way. There was no doubt in our minds that
“The Scattering Of Ashes” cover would live up to those expectations.
Mattias is a really talented guy and all we had to do was tell him the
album title and that we wanted it to have a dark feeling to it, so he
ran with it and nailed it pretty much right away. We are all really
happy with the end result of the artwork, layout and sound of the album.
We have been listening to the mixed and mastered version of the album
from Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage) and it sounds absolutely
killer!! This album is definitely one of the most aggressive INTO ETERNITY
albums ever, and now with Andy's touch on it it's over the top Metal
Madness!!!”
INTO ETERNITY´s Century Media debut “Buried In Oblivion”
gained phenomenal press feedback all across Europe including the award
“Album Of The Month” in the prestigious German Rock Hard
Magazine.
After touring Europe with Naglfar and Kataklysm in 2004 and North America
five times in 2005 (with Amorphis; Hate Eternal and Krisiun; Hammerfall
and Edguy; Opeth and Nevermore; and Stratovarius), INTO ETERNITY have
cultivated a solid fanbase with their intense live performance. Taking
the strengths they’ve developed and moving forward, it’s
time for “The Scattering Of Ashes”.

- IGNITE watch video for “Bleeding” & more!
“Bleeding” is the first video from IGNITE’s new album
“Our Darkest Days” that was released on Century Media Records
in Europe May 15th, 2006. IGNITE who have been crafting some of the
most definitive melodic west coast hardcore over the past decade are
also known for their no holds barred social and politically engaging
lyrics. This song and video is no different as the subject deals with
the Iraq occupation by the U.S. As bassist Brett Rasmussen explains,
it is about “the lies our Government told us to get us into a
war without taking the rest of the world’s consideration into
it.” Vocalist Zoli Teglas who wrote the lyrics has a younger brother
currently stationed in Iraq where as he explains “he is forced
to risk his life driving Halliburton execs to meetings that benefit
the politicians and not the people.”
The performance footage of the video was shot in the blistering California
Desert where the band attacked their instruments. Interspersed with
news footage of the war and intense images, the message is driven home
by director Chris Sims (Lamb Of God, As I Lay Dying).

Or check out their ecard.
“Our Darkest Days” has been racking up critical and fan
success as the best Ignite album. “The album’s strength
lies not only in its strong musical qualities but also its socially
conscious and challenging lyrics” says PunkBands.com which goes
on to call it “The best album so far in 2006.” Popular website
for heavy music Lambgoat.com calls the band “one of the only remaining
hardcore bands from the mid 90’s that have never compromised their
beliefs or their music.”
IGNITE are currently killing all with their appearances at huge European
fests including With Full Force Festival (D) which had 10,000 people
singing along with Zoli as well as Hellfest (F), Graspop (B) and Pressure
Fest (D). The band is also doing European tour dates with With Honor
and Convict. They will be back stateside for late August and will be
playing with the legendary Gorilla Biscuits for their reunion tour on
Aug 21st at The Glasshouse, Pomona CA.
“Any band that refuses to be pigeonholed in the early 21st century
should be commended, and Ignite continue on their path with their 2006
release Our Darkest Days.” – ALLMUSIC.COM
“… it remains politically charged, packed with great tunes
and determined to wring every ounce of emotion out of frontman Zoli
Teglas’s vocal range.” – KERRANG! (UK)
“An astonishingly bright and honest album.” – ROCK
SOUND (UK)
“In their 13th year of the hardcore-veterans from Orange County
release their masterpiece… A classic example of a melodic hardcore-album
that should be a noteworthy example for a lot of younger bands.”
– VISIONS (D)
”Masterpiece. Stroke of genius. Classic. Melodic hardcore never
sounded better…
Completely enthusiastic…” – METAL HAMMER (D)
”... great melodies, riffs and hooks. The extreme density of hits
is scary.” – ROCK HARD (D)

for 80’s metal legends, WARRANT. Come join “The Down Boys”
as they celebrate their first album in almost 10 years. “To me
this album picks up where Cherry Pie fell in the lap of that girl that
just got off the bus in LA,” explains Jerry Dixon, bassist and
founding member. “It even has guitar solos (remember those?).
No drum machines, no rock rap, no samples just drums, bass, guitars
and vocals. It’s old school Warrant at it’s finest.”
WARRANT’s new release BORN AGAIN [Cleopatra Records], which was
produced by famed producer Pat Regan (KISS, Deep Purple, Mr. Big). This
is WARRANT’s first new material since 1997 and they are currently
performing summer shows in support of the new CD. The first single ‘Bourbon
County Line’ is gaining airplay across the states. “We wanted
to make a record in the true Warrant fashion,” states Erik Turner,
founding member and guitarist. “I think we accomplished that sound
again. It sounds like what a Warrant record should sound like.”
The band’s four founding members, Erik Turner (guitar), Jerry
Dixon (bass), Joey Allen (lead guitar) and Steven Sweet (drummer) are
together for the first time in over a decade. Joining the band is Jaime
St. James, formerly of Black N’ Blue produced by Gene Simmons

to have your first listen.
Following the success of The Art of War, the band’s masterful
EP released earlier this year, Impressions in Blood showcases why the
world has long praised this highly regarded band’s now signature
sound and style. Realized at Hertz Studios with the production team
of Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy, the album features artwork by rising
artist Seth (Paradise Lost, Rotting Christ). Its blazing speed (faster
than fan favorite Litany!) is a turbulent metal ride that fans have
long asked for and now finally receive. It is a corrosive and addictive
metal offering.
Together since 1986, Vader have become one of metal’s most respected
and prolific bands. Their extensive discography, now spanning eighteen
individual recordings plus several videos and DVDs, has sold nearly
one million records worldwide. And till this day the band remain true
road warriors, performing over 200 shows each year to a loyal and continually
growing audience; the band most recently headlined the successful Metal
Crusaders tour (also featuring Kataklysm, labelmates Destruction, Graveworm
and more).

“INTO ETERNITY are inarguably the decade’s most original
band.” Explicitly Intense
It’s official! Canada’s progressive metal band INTO ETERNITY
will perform on this year’s Gigantour. Announced Monday at the
Gigantour site, INTO ETERNITY guitarist Tim Roth said of the honor,
“we are extremely blown away at the chance to tour with this great
festival. When INTO ETERNITY was formed, a tour with Megadeth was always
a goal of mine. I didn't actually think 9 years later we would be playing
arenas with them. INTO ETERNITY would like to give extra thanks to Megadeth
drummer Shawn Drover for going to bat and putting in some good words
for us. See you out there!”
Set for release on Oct. 3, The Scattering Of Ashes, the band’s
new album, has already been described as “a landmark triumph”
by Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, and more colorfully by vocalist
Stu Block as “over the top Metal Madness.” Mixed and mastered
by Andy Sneap (Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy) the new album’s
clear production brings forward their ingenious multi-leveled musical
dynamics and fearless experimentation with style and genre. More information

- ILLUMINATE new album!
Germany poets of dark romance, ILLUMINATE, finished their tenth record
(!) "Zwei Seelen" to stir up the scene. The toweringly album
will be available in the stores the 29th of september. The album is
heavier than the previous ones, thank you drums and more guitars, as
singer Johannes Berthold says. The thrill of anticipation in the fan-scene
was amplified by the gig at this years WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN where the
new Gothic Rock ballad "Es Brennt Die Welt" stunned every
fan. "The song decribes with strong metaphors what happened in
the night of 13th February 1945. In that night, 40.000 people died because
of the senseless bombing of the city of Dresden", says Johannes.
The album features the typical dark ILLUMINATE style with songs like
"Tote Gärten" and "Siehst Du Mich in Dir?"
but also fresh tones with tunes like the hit "Wer Lieben will…."
– a song without keyboards. An intended contrast: "The duality
of the both sides of the album must be drastic and striking. On this
record, we have well-known romantic and emtional moments, but also tragic
and depressiv moments." As a bonus, the first ever live CD in the
history of ILLUMINATE will be included. The concert took place in Mexiko,
October 2005. "Zwei Seelen" shows the rocking side of the
band and convinces with it´s intense and emotional tightrope walk.
- ARCORAIS are in search of a new Guitarrist.

- EMPEROR TABULATURE BOOK SET FOR US RELEASE
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records has set October 31 as the US release
date for the anticipated Emperor guitar tabulature book titled Scattered
Ashes: Decade of Emperial Wrath. The 132-page oversized book featuring
foreword and transcriptions by vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn includes original
tabs for thirteen Emperor classics contained on the band's 2003 compilation
of the same name.
"In my experience as a guitar teacher I've come across a lot of
transcribed metal material," says Ihsahn. "However, when looking
for material covering the more extreme forms of metal I found there
were definite shortcomings and hence came the idea to do a tab book
on Emperor. As tab books were such an important part of my early years
as a guitar player, I hope this book too may be helpful and inspiring
to guitarists with a passion for extreme music.”
Emperor, featuring Ihsahn with guitarist Samoth and drummer Trym, will
headline the annual Wacken Open Air Festival this weekend in Hamburg,
Germany. The performance follows the band's recent capacity shows in
New York and Los Angeles. The band signed autographs for fans who flew
in from all corners of the globe to be part of the band's second trip
stateside (the band's only previous touchdown in support of 1999's IX
Equilibrium). In addition to signings, Ihsahn visited Sirius Satellite
Radio for a candid, one-hour interview with Ian Christe (author of Sound
of the Beast, published by Harper Collins).
Respected by musician, fan and critic alike, Emperor recorded their
final album, Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise, in 2001.
Guitarist Samoth and drummer Trym continued together in Zyklon; the
band's latest album DisIntegrate is in stores nationwide now. Vocalist/guitarist
Ihsahn went on to work with the now defuct band project Peccatum and
his recently released solo record, The Adversary. "Of all the Norweigan
black metal heroes out there, Ihsahn is definitely in that small select
group that continues to challenge listeners with new sounds," said
Decibel Magazine. Revolver adds, "The Adversary is brimming with
classical, goth, prog, and Eighties-metal passages that are frequently
spellbinding."
Candlelight reissued each of Emperor's four genre-defining albums, Wrath
of the Tyrants, In the Nightside Eclipse, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
and IX Equilibrium in 2004. Each features additional bonus footage and
material previously unavailable on both European and US-licensed versions.
Limited edition picture disc versions of the records are available at
select retailers nationwide and through Candlelight's recently launched
online store (bring your browser to www.candlelightrecordsusa.com).
