- NIGHTRAGE Descend Into Chaos
North America prepare for descent! Nightrage will be invading North
America with God Dethroned, Byzantine, Epoch Of Unlight, Hell Within,
Thine Eyes Bleed, and Lilitu. Supporting 2005’s Descent Into Chaos,
their second recording, the band is now ready to storm North American
shores. Incorporating a blistering twin guitar approach, Nightrage has
cemented fans by developing and strengthening their melodically vicious
sound. Albums, which have featured guitar virtuoso Gus G. (Arch Enemy,
Firewind) and unparalleled vocalist Tomas Lindberg (ex-At The Gates,
The Great Deceiver), have been lessons in Swedish melodic death metal.
However, due to previous commitments, the band will be touring with
vocalist Jimmy Strimell (Deathdestruction) and touring guitarist Pierre
Lysell (NONE).
Mainman guitarist Marios Iliopoulos sent this message out to fans, “Hi
there Nightrage fans, we are really excited that we are going to be
part of this International Extreme Music Festival. This is the first
time to play our music in this territory and see our American fans.
I think every European band’s goal is an American tour. Now we
have the chance to achieve this goal, and it is our first tour ever.
I don't think I have to tell you how excited we are about this. The
line-up and the whole event will be awesome, and Digger International
has really been professional promoting this festival. We want to give
our best performances there and share the stage with all these great
bands. Nightrage has never been a project, and we will soon be out there
to show you what we are all about.”

- KING'S X Signs with Inside Out Music America
New Studio Album, Ogre Tones,
Set for Release on September 27, 2005
The critically acclaimed, highly influential Texas-based rock trio King's
X has signed with Inside Out Music America. The band's recent work has
been released by Inside Out except in North America, and signing with
IOMA unifies its label worldwide.
The first new King's X album from guitarist/vocalist Ty Tabor, bass
guitarist/vocalist Doug Pinnick and drummer/vocalist Jerry Gaskill under
the new deal, Ogre Tones, will be released in North America on September
27, 2005.
"Signing with InsideOut is due to the longstanding relationship
we have with the great people at the label like Thomas Waber in Germany
and Jim Pitulski here in America," says Tabor. "It's another
opportunity where we found ourselves free to make a change. We have
signed with a new booking agent too.
"With Inside Out, we have that friendship and we have the same
goals. They are also realistic and honest. They don't pull punches.
It's a logical match."
Tabor first got to know Waber and Pitulski in recent years via his solo
and all-star side projects such as Platypus, The Jelly Jam and Jughead
that were released by InsideOut. Gaskill's solo album Come Somewhere
was also issued by the label.
The new King's X album was produced by Michael Wagener, who has produced,
engineered or mixed work by the likes of Metallica, Alice Cooper, Queen,
Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Extreme and
many others.
"This was a big change for us after years of self-producing our
albums. We wanted to be free to focus on the music itself. Things were
often fragmented the past several years. I had to oversee a lot of business
things -- such as working with different labels for different territories
-- that sometimes didn't allow me to really focus on the music as much
as I wanted," Tabor says.
"Michael wasn't pushing us in any one direction. It was just four
guys having a good time creating sounds and music. It's a broad-sounding
record. It's hard to compare our music from album to album, but vocally
this one has elements of early King's X and sonicaly it's similar to
our recent ones.
"It feels so fresh to be able to concentrate fully on the music.
I honestly believe this new album is our best record in many, many years."
King's X also plans to shoot videos for two singles from the album,
their first promotional clips since 1998's 'Tapehead.' They will be
directed by Dr. Teeth, who has helmed videos that are all over MTV for
artists such as new hip-hop sensation Mike Jones. Tabor loves Dr. Teeth's
hip-hop videos -- "The guy is extremely talented," he says
-- and they met through mutual friends in Houston.
Tabor explains that the band is refreshed after having taken this year
off so far.
"This was our first break after five straight years of torturous
work on King's X and side projects. It was absolutely non-stop. Zero
time off," he says.
King's X is back with renewed energy and creative fire, and the eclectic
nature of the band's work and Inside Out's expertise in quality handmade
music makes it a perfect partnership.

- IMPALED’s “Preservation Of Death” Video Posted
Oakland’s Frankenstein monster IMPALED have revealed their terrible
medical truths, making them public in streaming video here. When asked
about the footage, Medical Deviant Sean McGrath (vocals/guitar) said,
“The video footage for ‘Preservation of Death’ was
shot in the early 1920s as an instructional film. It was funded by the
infamous St. Julien's Medical University, an institution that later
fell into disrepute after several scandals involving the staff undertaking
inhumane experiments on the patients there. While going through the
archives one day, we found the footage. Curiously, it synched up PERFECTLY
with our song, and strangely enough, had people who looked exactly like
us playing the lead roles. It seemed like a perfect fit. Plus, we had
already spent the video budget on beer and pizza.
“The idea for the video came to me during the recording of Death
After Life. I liken the experience to psychic photography, implanted
memories, or perhaps the government mind control experiments of the
60s and 70s. One minute I was sitting there contemplating getting a
real job and giving up all this foolishness, and the next my brain was
hit by a bolt of lightning, imprinting the idea for this video like
a petroglyph carved into living rock. My brain wasn't LITERALLY hit
by lightning; that would kill me. I did feel like giving up and getting
a real job though; that part was true.”
Lucky for IMPALED fans, Sean has not gotten motivation for that job
but instead the band will be announcing tour dates in the near future.

- THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN TURNING HEADS WITH "UNRETROFIED"
VIDEO
Relapse Records recording artists THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN are breaking
new ground with the release of their latest music video, "Unretrofied."
The hyper-advanced clip is taken from the band's forward-thinking release,
Miss Machine.
The DILLINGER video was written and directed by Josh Graham (ENON, NO
DOUBT, JURASSIC 5) and features the band (vocalist Greg Puciato, guitarists
Ben Weinman and Brian Benoit, bassist Liam Wilson and drummer Chris
Pennie) "assembled as retro 'Westworld' style robots as we witness
the birth of The Dillinger Escape Plan."
Response to the DILLINGER video has been outstanding and immediate.
The FUSE network has accepted "Unretrofied" into rotation
on both its "Ovenfresh" and "Steven's Untitled Rock Show"
programs. "Ovenfresh" "gives the power of the programming
over to the fans" by allowing them to vote to see more or less
of the hottest new videos each week. For additional information, visit:

and http://www.fuse.tv/. THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN appears as an
Oven Fresh artist this week alongside 50 CENT, SILVERSTEIN, SYSTEM OF
A DOWN and others.
The "Unretrofied" video was also added to MTV-U. MTV-U is
"the definitive college network for students at universities across
the country." The network can be found on over 700 campuses, reaching
over 6 million students in dining halls, student lounges, fitness centers,

- New clip from upcoming acoustic GREEN CARNATION posted
The first sound clip from Green Carnation forthcoming album, Acoustic
Verses, is now available online.
The band has been working hard on the album all summer - in between
multiple shows and festival appearances. The short, 45-second clip (still
untitled) has been made available to the public for the first time.
The material is so fresh it hasn't even been mixed or mastered yet.
The sample is short, but as Green Carnation's singer Kjetil Nordhus
points out, "You could see it as a teaser for those interested
in the band."
Acoustic Verses is to be released later this year on newly launched
label, SubLife Productions.
The Green Carnation clip and accompanying artwork for the album, along

THE CREST's "Vain City Chronicles" was released through Season

- DAGOBA sign to Season of Mist
With only their debut out, DAGOBA made quite a well-known name for themselves
in France (obtaining chart entries and an EMI distribution deal for
their very first album). The buzz quickly spread and step by step Europe
started responding (DAGOBA opened for MACHINE HEAD in Brussels, forFEAR
FACTORY in Amsterdam, and did a North European tour with SAMAEL, all
during 2004).
If there is a name to watch in the Modern Thrash European scene right
now, this is it! This year, DAGOBA opens for KORN on August 17th in
Toulon (France) and will hereafter concentrate on preparing the recording
of their new album. They will enter the studio The Antfarm (Denmark)
with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, MNEMIC etc.) in September.
The new recording is planned for an early 2006 release.

there for 10 years and people should know what they are getting by now.
Everyone knows they are one of the best live acts around, that's why
I joined the band. SG looks after things itself and although this means
we don't get opportunities we probably should get, at least you know
its all 100% straight down the line - these dates were booked by ourselves

September 16th in Erie, PA. Nora, and A Life Once Lost will be supporting
Unearth for the first two dates, with Dillinger Escape Plan, Zao and
A Life Once Lost completing the tour.
Here's what vocalist Trevor Phipps has to say. "We are all looking
forward to headlining again. Festival tours are great, but we are stoked
to play a full set for all our fans. Also, like I said before we prefer
the club atmosphere where there is simply just more energy and a better
show from all points. The fact that we are taking out The Dillinger
Escape Plan and Zao, two bands we admire greatly for their long and
influential history in metal and hardcore, and our good friends in the
bad ass band A Life Once Lost, is just an awesome feeling for us all.
We are bringing a killer show across the country and it is a tour we
are proud to take out."

comprised entirely of brand new and previously unreleased material from
over 25 of today's top rock, metal, punk, and emo artists, including
Mudvayne, Buckethead featuring Serj Tankian of System of a Down, Thursday,
Shadows Fall, Andrew WK, Norma Jean, and more. The series will debut
in October on Showtime, with IDT Entertainment, Industry Entertainment
and Nice Guy Productions producing. The soundtrack is available for
preorder at "http://www.immortalrecords.com/store/store.asp?nProductID=12063"
and will arrive one day before release date.
Masters of Horror will feature 13 new one-hour horror films from acclaimed
genre directors Dario Argento (Suspiria), John Carpenter (Halloween),
Larry Cohen (It's Alive), Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-tep), Joe
Dante (The Howling), Mick Garris (The Stand, Riding the Bullet), Stuart
Gordon (Re-Animator), Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist),
John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), William Malone (FearDotCom,
House on Haunted Hill), Lucky McKee (May), and Takashi Miike (Audition,
Ichi The Killer).
The collaboration marks the first time these prominent directors have
joined forces, so it's only fitting that a comparable roster of bands
was assembled for the soundtrack. Confirmed to join the aforementioned
contributing artists are Rise Against, Matchbook Romance, From Autumn
to Ashes, Armor for Sleep, Everytime I Die, HopesFall, Fear Before the
March of Flames, Bear vs. Shark, The Bronx, It Dies Today, Choidos,
A Change of Pace, Death by Stereo, Murder by Death, Scary Kids Scaring
Kids, The Bled, and Yesterday's Rising. The all-star lineup boasts aggregate
sales of over 15 million units. Additional bands and track listings
will be announced as they are confirmed.
Says series Executive Producer Garris of the important roll music plays
in theMasters of Horror series, "Horror is to cinema what rock
n' roll is to music: rebellious, transgressive, loud and abrasive. And
the sound of horror is every bit as important as the vision. Horror
can be quiet and sneak up on you, and just give you a chill. Or it can
grab you by the throat and rip out your trachea. We hope to embrace
the full range on the Masters of Horror soundtrack."
Masters of Horror grew out of an informal bi-monthly dinner attended
by many of the horror genre's most highly regarded directors. Garris
transformed their collective desire to work together into reality, and
will serve as the showrunner for the series. The series was developed
by Garris along with executive producers Andrew Deane and Keith Addis,
and is an IDT Entertainment production.

- BOBAFLEX JOINS MEGADETH ON THE ROAD ALL SUMMER
** Debut Album Apologize For Nothing Set For Release On TVT Records
September 6th
**“These guys are cool. Hope you think so too. Check them out...”
- Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH
August 11, 2005 – In 1998 Marty and Shaun McCoy came together
to form the foundation of what would become Bobaflex. The brothers are
no strangers to the press, having ancestral ties to the most infamous
family feud in American history, between the Hatfields and the McCoys,
which almost caused a war between the states of West Virginia and Kentucky
in the 1880’s.
With their anthem-style songs and maniacal live performances, the group
quickly gained popularity throughout the OH, WV, and KY tri-state area
establishing their “base of operations” in Point Pleasant
WV, home to the infamous Mothman Prophecies. Influenced by their surroundings
the band (Marty McCoy, Shaun McCoy, Mike Steele, Jerod Makin, and Tommy
Johnson) began to develop their unique style of songwriting.
So far, the music press have often compared their sound to that of new
metal artists like System of Down and Disturbed fused with the lyrical
aggression of hip-hop pioneers Wu-tang Clan and song structural elements
of classic rock pioneers Queen.
"Diverse, surprising, oddly soulful in places and musically ambitious.
Jumps genres and time signatures like System of a Down, but never feels
forced,” commented Decibel Magazine.
Bobaflex’s debut album, Apologize For Nothing, will be released
by TVT Records on September 6th. The band is now part of Megadeth’s
Gigantour, which began on July 21st in Fresno, CA and will end in Ridgefield,
WA on September 11th.
“With Megadeth, most people focus on the riffing and shredding,
but what pulled me into them as a kid was Mustaine’s signature
vocals,” commented Shaun McCoy. “He always had lots of attitude
and personality, especially on classics like ‘Peace Sells,’
or he would do something really out there and twisted like talking to
his inner self in ‘Sweating Bullets.’ Most singers are afraid
to take chances like that- and that’s why a lot of albums are
stale to me by the sixth song.”
On the other hand, Marty McCoy was looking forward to the Megadeth tour
for “other” reasons: “This is a great opportunity
for our music to reach thousands of people, and it's easier to trick
hitchhikers into your tour bus.”
The songs on Apologize For Nothing run from the irresistibly over-the-top
aggression of “Better Than Me” to the heavily armored melodies
of “Bullseye” and “Guardian” and short-attention-span
gems like “Got You Trapped.” All the songs are pushed by
beats that bang like hip-hop but never resemble the limp aping of the
rap-rock era. There’s always melody you can hum along to chasing
some locomotive-sized crunch that makes a mosh pit seem like a good
idea.

- FEAR FACTORY to Be Featured on "Rainbow Six" Soundtrack
Calvin Records Partners with “Rainbow Six” to Feature Artists’
Songs on Soundtrack
Fear Factory Hits to be Included on X-Box and PS2 Versions
Set for Release September 6
Calvin Records, an imprint of Liquid 8, has announced that it has aligned
itself with the much-anticipated “Rainbow Six” video game
to include two songs by the label’s leading artist Fear Factory.
Available on both X-Box and PS2 on September 6, 2005, “Rainbow
Six” will feature the band’s hit song Lockdown as well as
a re-recorded version of the game’s theme song.
Drummer Raymond Herrera, who is no stranger to the video game world
with his own production company 3Volution, believes that there is a
natural synergy between music and video games and is hoping to have
the band’s songs appear in more upcoming releases.
“The relationship between music and other media can no longer
be denied,” he says. “In today’s technology- driven
marketplace it just makes sense to align ourselves with projects like
Rainbow Six. The way we see it, all the lines will soon be blurred when
it comes to entertainment and we aren’t afraid to embrace it.”
In addition to Rainbow Six, Fear Factory is also working on a remix
of Demanufacture for the upcoming PSP game “Infected” which
is slated for an October 31 release.
Mike Catain, Calvin Records owner and CEO, says that these new relationships
that the label is building are just one part of the company’s
overall business strategy.
“We’d be foolish to ignore the opportunities that exist
between music and other forms of media,” he says. “As an
innovative company that has built its reputation on ‘thinking
outside the box’, forging relationships with video games and other
outlets is just another way for us to enhance our brand identity and
garner more exposure for our artists.”
Fear Factory is currently on the road with Dave Mustaine’s Gigantour
promoting its newest album “Transgression” which is set
for release August 23 via Calvin Records.

- EXODUS Rick Hunolt out, Lee Altus in
EXODUS main man Gary Holt has confirmed that longtime guitarist Rick
Hunolt has left the band in order to be there for his two sons.
Hunolt wrote in a statement on the EXODUS website: "EXODUS deserves
110 percent from me and I just can't give them that anymore. My boys
need me."
His replacement is Lee Altus, who played with fellow Bay Area thrashers
HEATHEN and DIE KRUPPS. As Holt commented, Altus "was not only
the best guy for this job, he was the only one. No one else was ever
considered." Altus already played on the new album "Shovel
Headed Kill Machine", which is scheduled for an Oct 4th release
and described by Holt as "an achievment in heaviness". It
is the band's first album to feature Altus, Ex-SLAYER drummer Paul Bostaph
and new singer Rob Dukes.
- BLIND GUARDIAN new drummer!
German epic metallers BLIND GUARDIAN have announced a replacement for
drummer Thomen Stauch, who left the band in April after 20 years. The
new man behind the kit is fellow German Frederik Ehmke, so far fairly
unknown in the world of Metal.
The band released the following statement:
"A few weeks ago an unknown guy who introduced himself as Frederik
Ehmke applied for the job as a drummer in a fairly firm manner. His
vital, expressive and skillful performances of some B.G. classics ('Journey
Through The Dark', 'Time Stands Still' and 'And Then There Was Silence')
blew us away completely . Pretending not to be convinced we invited
him to do a shoot out recording session under real production terms
to check out if the creative chemistry would also work out fine. After
finishing these recordings it was obvious to us: Frederik is going to
be our new drummer!"
The production of BLIND GUARDIAN's debut on NUCLEAR BLAST will start
in late August with the help of Charlie Bauerfeind. No album title has
been set yet, but it looks like there will be a total of ten songs.
Some working titles, which might be kept, are: 'Carry The Blessed Home',
'The Edge', 'In Search For The Lionheart', 'Market Square', 'Another
Stranger Me', and 'Otherland'. The release of the first single is planned
for February 2006, the album will follow in April, before the band embarks
on a world tour in June/August.
- DIMMU BORGIR Deal extended
Norwegian Black Metal masters DIMMU BORGIR and NUCLEAR BLAST have extended
the record deal that spawned albums like "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant",
"Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" and "Death Cult Armageddon"!
The history of Black Metal continues…
The next release will be a revamped version of "Stormblast",
which originally appeared in '96. It was recorded during this year,
augmented with bonus tracks (e.g. bonus DVD) and produced by Peter Tägtgren
(HYPOCRISY). Expect a way better and sinister sounding album."Stormblast"
will available on Nov 7.
- GOREFEST "La Muerte" finished
Dutch Death Metal legends GOREFEST have posted the following update
on their reunion album "La Muerte":
"It is done. Klaar. Finished. Es ist vollbracht. We completed the
"La Muerte" sessions. Five weeks of letting the Metal flow
every way possible. Fast, slow, hyperfast, ultraslow, grooving, marching,
bleeding and sweating. We're all very pleased with the results so far,
now it's up to Tue Madsen to mix everything 'till speakers bleed."
The final tracklist for "La Muerte" is, in no particular order:
For The Masses
Man To Fall
You Could Make Me Kill
The New Gods
When The Dead Walk The Earth
Malicious Intent
Of Death And Chaos (A Grand Finale)
'Till Fingers Bleed
The Fifth Crusade
Rogue State
The Call
La Muerte
- IN FLAMES studio album delayed
Since fans of IN FLAMES are still digesting the massive amount of live
material delivered in the double-DVD/double-CD set "Used And Abused…In
Live We Trust", it might be good to know that new songs won't appear
this year.
The next studio album by IN FLAMES called "Come Clarity" will
see the light of day on Feb 6th 2006.
IN FLAMES are currently touring the U.S. as one of the main-stage acts
at this year's Ozzfest. They have also been confirmed as the support
act for MOTÖRHEAD on their U.K. tour this fall.
- EDGUY Invite Michael Kiske for new EP
EDGUY's upcoming EP "Superheroes", due on Sep 5, will feature
a special guest appearance by former HELLOWEEN frontman Michael Kiske.Commented
EDGUY singer Tobias Sammet: "One of the tracks is a bombastic uptempo
epic that's reminiscent of a mixture of heavy QUEEN, RICHARD WAGNER
and AVANTASIA. So it was a MUST to ask Michael Kiske to do some guest
vocals. To me, music is about goose bumps, and I had a lot when listening
to Michi! To make it fair, we have decided that the CD shall be out
in stores for the price of a CD single only! "
The "Superheroes" EP will feature five songs. Four of those
are exclusive to this release!
Also on Sep 5, EDGUY will release "Superheroes – The DVD".
It will contain the brand new video clip 'Superheroes', a couple of
songs filmed live in Brazil, plenty of "behind-the-scenes"
footage, a slide show, an extensive studio report with interviews and
a chance to follow EDGUY backstage.
- CLAWFINGER sign with NUCLEAR BLAST
NUCLEAR BLAST is proud to announce the signing of a band that has started
a whole genre: crossover pioneers CLAWFINGER!
As Frontman Zak Tell commented:
"Dear Clawheads, Hangarounds and other Lowlifes!
We are very happy that the No. 1 Metal label NUCLEAR BLAST had the good
taste to sign the reigning champs of 'OldSchoolCrossoverNuMetal' CLAWFINGER!
We know that this is the start of a longlasting and successful companionship
that will bring us 'Money Power Glory'… We are keeping our clawfingers
crossed! Peace, Zak"
CLAWFINGER have been among the first bands that continuously mixed Metal
with rap and grooves. Their debut "Deaf, Dumb, Blind" (1993)
is legendary and set a new tone for heavy music. Since then, CLAWFINGER
never really stopped and put out a total of five studio albums, the
last being "Zeroes And Heroes" (2003). A new album by these
hard rockin' and hard groovin' Swedes is scheduled for a November release.

- INTO ETERNITY Road Report / Recording Appearance
Canada’s INTO ETERNITY are currently on the road, their third
tour of 2005, opening for traditional heavy metal warriors Hammerfall
and Edguy. Supporting their album Buried In Oblivion, the band is in
great spirits and ripping up the stage every night. Tim Roth (guitar,
vocals) sent this message to fans: “Hello everyone!! The Hammerfall/Edguy/INTO
ETERNITY tour is rolling along full steam now. We have been astonished
by our fans enthusiastic response to our show. They are giving us so
much energy, and every night we play as hard as we can. It's a great
feeling to look out and see 1,000 people raising their metal horns!!
The Eastern Canadian leg of the tour was sick! I think we made a lot
of new fans and we can't wait to get back there with Stratovarius. The
promoters were class acts and treated us well, so thanks to all of them.
“After our show in Montréal, Rob and I were picked up by
J.F. (Kataklysm) and drove to his studio. Rob and I did guest work on
a track for their new album called "Road to Devastation,"
where I played a guitar solo at the end of the track and Rob did trade
off vocals in the song’s chorus. We are really good friends with
them now, and have been fans of the band long before we toured together.
I have to say that their new album will turn a lot of heads, the songs
sound really amazing. It was a big deal for us to do our best for the
Kataklysm guys, as we consider them our brothers.
“We hope to see all of our fans out supporting us, and we feel
really lucky to be a part of such a great tour. Thanks to Hammerfall
and Edguy for having us out with them, they are both great bands and
I think this is an awesome package. Hopefully we can meet everyone on
the road!!! Keep it metal!”
The current tour wraps up in late August and then the band will finish
their year supporting Finland’s Stratovarius. For more information

- Save CBGB Campaign Update
If you did not see the news, CBGBs won in its court case and does not
owe any funds to their landlord, The Bowery Resident's Committee. To
Learn More about this court case read "CBGB wins Round in Court".
Nonetheless, our battle to get our lease renewed is far from over and
our landlord has already stated that they will appeal this ruling.
We need your help to contact the Mayor of New York's Office and ask
them to get involved in Saving CBGBs. Please use the link below to write
the mayor a friendly letter (we are asking for his help to save the
club)
Please read the following draft letter:
Draft Letter
The Honorable Michael R. Bloomberg
Mayor of New York City
City Hall
New York, N.Y. 10007
Dear Mayor Bloomberg, We ask that you use your influence to ensure that
CBGB's receives a new lease from the Bowery Resident's Committee (BRC)
that has been unwilling to negotiate a new lease.
As you maybe aware, Judge Kenney ruled in a Manhattan Civil Court last
week, that CBGBs does not owe the BRC money - and yet the BRC still
refuses to sign a new lease.
CBGB's is not only a cultural icon, it is an important and vibrant tourist
destination, and a live music venue for over 75 bands every week! Furthermore,
the rock bands it develops includes: legends like the Ramones, Blondie,
B52s, Talking Heads to modern day bands like Strokes, Bouncing Souls,
Goo Goo Dolls, and Thursday.
CBGBs evolving art and music have helped generate thousands of jobs
for the city while the BRC is non-profit charity almost exclusively
funded by the city and state.
It would be inappropriate for taxpayer money to be used to evict this
important NYC landmark. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
(please include your name, address, and phone number so the Mayor's
office knows you are a real person that cares)!
Other ways to contact the Mayor:
Please call the Mayor's Office directly at: 212-NEW-YORK outside NYC

- BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION ON U.S. TOUR
HEADING OUT ON THE ‘MOTOR-HOMEY’ TOUR
WITH NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST ADEMA
HOLLYWOOD (August 17, 2005) – BOD will be on tour supporting their
new album RUNAWAY BRIDES releasing September 27th on Shrapnel Records.
Their first single White Trash is soon to hit the airwaves. "White
Trash" is exactly what it sounds like. “The pot calls the
kettle black ..money can’t buy class ...but in LA it’s all
for free all you need is a casting couch, a bloody scalpel and a sugar
daddy,” recites LeGrande. It pays homage to all the trailer-park-style
culture and the people that try to leave them. From there the Brides
will discharge a slew of slamming songs on the audience like “Criminal”,
“Deadman’s Ruin” and “Lords of the Mind.”
“This is the record we always wanted to make,” states Tracii
Guns. “It has a great blend of modern rock heaviness with retro
sounds and styles. It is the perfect ‘Brides’ record of
today.”
ADEMA will be coming off their own headlining tour to join the Brides
on a tour of debauchery in support of their latest album release PLANETS.
Standout tracks include: the first single, "Tornado"; title
track, "Planets"; a ballad, "Rise Above"; rocker
"Bad Triangle", featuring a guest vocal appearance by Jujitsu
master Ralek Gracie, aka Rio Life, a member of the world-renowned Gracie
Family (and friend of Adema drummer Kris Kohls, himself an avid Jujitsu
trainer); and fierce closer, "Vikraphone". Yet, the truth
is, all the tracks on "Planets" (count them, 16!... plus one
extra surprise!) are expertly-crafted, hook- laden songs; there is not
a miss among them.

- ORANGE SKY TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM 'UPSTAIRS' IN NORTH AMERICA ON GRANITE
RECORDS ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2005
TRINIDAD-BASED BAND PLANS EUROPEAN AND NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES, FOLLOWED
BY RELEASE OF LIVE DVD
QUINTET NAMED INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADORS
BY TRINIDAD'S MINISTRY OF TOURISM
Originality has returned to rock music thanks to the vibrant work of
the Trinidad-based quintet Orange Sky. The band has a high-energy, soulful
rock sound with exciting splashes of Caribbean music and reggae. You've
never seen or heard anything like Orange Sky.
Orange Sky will release its official debut album, 'Upstairs,' in North
America on Granite Records on September 13, 2005. Granite -- a hot new
label dedicated to developing career artists -- was founded by its three
managing directors, music industry veteran Dave Austin, his wife Cathy
Austin and Kansas drummer/manager/producer Phil Ehart. Granite's releases
are distributed by Fontana, a Universal Music Group company.
'Upstairs' was produced by the legendary Jeff Glixman, known for his
distinctive work with the likes of Kansas, Kiss' Paul Stanley, Black
Sabbath and countless other top musical artists. Glixman's other recent
projects include 5.1 surround sound remixes of classic albums by Eric
Clapton, the Allman Brothers Band and Ludacris.
Orange Sky, which formed three years ago, has already achieved superstar
status in the Caribbean and sold an astonishing 10,000 CDs independently
in the region. The band's popularity is scaling such heights that Trinidad
and Tobago's Ministry of Tourism has officially named Orange Sky as
International Ambassadors.
Band members include lead vocalist/lead guitarist/songwriter Nigel Rojas,
bass guitarist/vocalist Nicholas Rojas, rhythm guitarist Adam Murray,
keyboardist/vocalist Richard Hall and drummer/vocalist Obasi Springer.
Nigel and Nicholas are brothers.
ICM is proposing an Orange Sky European tour for this summer, and U.S.
dates will follow soon after.
Songs on 'Upstairs' include "It's Over," "Escape,"
"Alone" and a haunting interpretation of the Cat Stevens classic
"Peace Train," which is relevant now more than ever.
"Orange Sky has a very unique, distinct sound. We are excited about
getting the band out there to perform and develop a loyal fan base.
Orange Sky is unbelievable live and our immediate goal is to get them
playing in front of as many people as possible," says Dave Austin.
"This band has that special, magical quality, and they're hard-working
too. When people hear Orange Sky, they truly get a piece of the band's
heart and soul."
"We're coming from a different place. We're not from Europe, we're
not from the States. I think we're coming from an objective point,"
says Nigel Rojas. "The fans we have now are always intrigued. 'Where
are these guys from?' 'What are they doing?' 'Who's this black rock
band?' In the DVD, they not only see Orange Sky live in concert, they
also get to see us amongst our people in our element right here in Trinidad."
"I think people will understand what we're all about the first
time they see us live. They'll understand the vibe and spirituality
behind this band," says Hall. "Something magical comes out
every time we play. We're not even in control of the show. Something
else greater than all of us takes over."
This fall, Orange Sky will also release its first-ever DVD, 'Live in
Trinidad,' through Granite. It was filmed at a rollicking sold-out show
in its hometown of Port-of-Spain.

- "The First Chapter" of CIRCUS MAXIMUS
"An essential release, I'd go as far as to say of "desert
island must have" quality." 9.5/10
- BRAVEWORDS.COM
The new wave of Norwegian progressive metal has found a worthy representative
in Circus Maximus. The band has a wide variety of musical influences,
from pop/rock to 70's Prog-Rock to Heavy and Death metal, all of which
is blended together and gives them their unique sound. This melting
pot creates a mixture of great melodies, groove, heavy riffs and weird
odd time signatures.
"The First Chapter" was recorded in various studios in Norway,
and mixed in October 2004 in Denmark at Jailhouse Studios with well-known
producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids, Wuthering Heights) at
the helm.
The sound is impeccable, the musicianship is out-of-this-world, Michael
Eriksen's voice is amazing (reminding of Tony Harnell, Joey Tempest
and Ronnie Atkins), and the songs are simply outstanding. A superb mixture
of classic hard rock anthems and progressive technical bits and pieces.
Just listen to tracks as the upbeat opener "Sin", the beautiful
ballad "Silence From Angels Above", the grandiose "Glory
Of The Empire" or the 19-minute magnum-opus "The 1st Chapter".
This album will for sure appeal to all fans of bands such as Symphony
X, TNT, Dream Theater, Pretty Maids and Queensryche. Circus Maximus
will be making their North American debut at ProgPower USA in Atlanta,
GA on September 16.

- JACKNIFE to Release Moment of Reckoning September 6, 2005
“We don’t have any gimmicks, we just get up there and play,”
says vocalist Joe Ortiz of Jacknife. Hailing from Dallas, TX, Jacknife’s
sound can best be described as “Texas style brutality” and
the band wastes no time showing listeners why they are the future of
extreme music from the Lone Star state. To call their brand of musical
destruction “metalcore” would be an understatement; Jacknife
blends the best elements of the metal and hardcore genres seamlessly
on their full length debut album Moment Of Reckoning, which is set for
release on September 6, 2005 on Zero-Sum Recordings.
With a rabid regional following, Jacknife has worked their way onto

- CRYPTOPSY & OLD MAN’S CHILD ALBUMS’ RELEASE SCHEDULED
Staggering new releases from Cryptopsy, Once Was Not, and Old Man’s
Child, Vermin, will be released upon North America Oct. 18th. Having
played pivotal roles shaping today’s metal, it is befitting that
albums once again expanding their genres will be simultaneously released.
Cryptopsy have been described as “extreme metal champions, the
planet’s most technically proficient and mind-jarring death metal
band” - BW&BK. The new CD, featuring the long-anticipated
return of vocalist Lord Worm, was recorded at Studio Vortex in St-Constant,
Canada by producer Sebastien Marsan, and again infuses extreme music
with awe-inspiring precision, rabidly dynamic rhythms, and mouth-foaming
viciousness. Cryptopsy will be steamrolling across North America with
Suffocation and Aborted from late September to November (dates follow).
Writing “some of the most intense, majestic black metal ever to
emerge from Norway’s frozen forests” – Revolver, Old
Man’s Child return. Vermin proves that Dimmu Borgir guitarist/songwriter
Galder’s blasphemous well springs eternal with “epic symphonic
black metal masterpieces” - Metal Maniacs. Enlisting drummer Reno
Killerich (ex-Dimmu Borgir, Vile, Exmortem), and returning to Studio
Fredman (Opeth, Dark Tranquillity), Galder captured a savagely soul
tortured sound on the nine new tracks.

- Belgium’s ABORTED Sign To Century Media Records
Century Media Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of
Belgian death/grinders, ABORTED!
“It’s been a very hectic, intense and heavy year for ABORTED,”
says founder and lead vocalist Sven De Caluwé. “Yet a year
in which we have done tons of amazing things, went to amazing places
and met a lot of cool new people. One of those amazing things is being
signed to a label we believe will be able to lift this band to new heights.
They believe in us 200% and are going to help us take the next step
in our careers.”
The band is gearing up for a North American tour this fall with Suffocation,
CRYPTOPSY and DESPISED ICON. This will serve as the band’s first-ever
full U.S. tour! As anyone who saw the band at their Maryland Deathfest
appearance can attest, you do not want to miss out on this historical
event!
“With our North American tour we will finally be able to get out
to the U.S. and Canada and do some damage,” De Caluwé says.
“Needless to say we are extremely thrilled to hit the road and
to be a part of the growing Century Family, a company that stands for
nothing but quality releases and that strongly supports every cool act
under their wings.”
ABORTED’s latest offering, The Archaic Abattoir, was licensed
in North America via Century Media/Olympic Recordings on May 17th. It
has been called “an epic in its own right” (Outburn) and
a “highly proficient slab of ultraviolence” (Decibel). Hear
and see what the fans and critics have been raving about starting September
28th at a venue near you!

"...like newer Isis or even more more daydreamy non-metal fare,
MotA force the listner to , yo know, listen." 8.5/10 - Brave Words

"MotA is helping fuel an imminene renaissance in drawn-out, multi-layered
post-metal." - Unrestrained #27
"Baring epic double digit songs and vast segues of instrumentation,
their Translation Loss debut, Time And Whithering, is the perfect bridge
between [Neurosis'] Eye Of The Storm and [Isis'] Panopticon but retains
its own character." - Metal Maniacs, August 2005
"What's increasingly en vogue in art metal today? Majest, Musculature,
understatement, an aesthetically pleasing sheen and the assurance that
one you get too close, you'll get kicked in the fucking teeth. MotA
deliver on all counts." - Decibel, March 2005
"While we find it a little insulting to metal fans to drop the
catchphrase 'thinking person's metal' when describing a band, we're
hard pressed to come up with a better description for MotA whose music
expands, contracts, ebbs and flows with orchestral grace while being
heavier than a pair of lead panties." - Alternative Press #201
"Time & Withering stands as one of 2004 best releases, and
Mouth Of The Architect stands as one of the 21st century's most promising
and original bands." 9/10 - UltimateMetal.com
"Not background music by any stretch, MotA's first outing will
be talked about greatly by those who prefer their music to be involved,
demanding, and expansive as fuck." - RebelX.org

- MANNTIS - Sign Worldwide Deal With Century Media Records!
The explosive Southern California quintet MANNTIS have officially signed
a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group’s debut
album, “Sleep In Your Grave”, is set for a October 17th,
2005 release in Europe. The disc was produced by Cameron Webb (Danzig,
Motörhead, Social Distortion) and features blistering tracks of
unrelenting metal intensity. The group have been influenced by a diverse
number of bands ranging from Meshuggah and Pantera to Hatebreed, to
name just a few, and their pummeling sound reflects the combination
of these influences.
MANNTIS originally formed in 2000 and immediately began playing anywhere
and everywhere possible. Their stunning stage presence was undeniable
and overwhelmed anyone that stepped in front of them. The buzz spread
quickly throughout the underground, but their biggest break would come
in 2004 when they gained worldwide recognition from their participation
on the hit MTV show “Battle For Ozzfest.” The group are
now out to prove that they can easily go head to head with the genre’s
elite.
Jake Sirokman (vocals) further conveys his excitement over the recent
signing: “We're extremely happy to be with Century Media Records.
We love the other bands on the roster and are proud to be alongside
them for years to come. One thing is for sure: some people may have
heard about us because of the 'Battle for Ozzfest' show, but we're a
dedicated band with over five years in the scene, not just some reality
show poseurs looking to extend our 15 minutes of fame. No doubt that
‘Battle for Ozzfest’ was a great opportunity, but we're
grateful that CM saw through smoke and mirrors of TV and saw us for
the band we are. Bottom line, we're here to bring the fucking metal.
See ya on the road."
MANNTIS recently embarked on the “Battle For Ozzfest Tour,”
in the USA with A Dozen Furies and CYN, the show’s other two finalists.
A European tour is following as of November, 2005 with The Haunted and
God Forbid.Click below to download the track “Axe Of Redemption.”

- GOD FORBID – New album “IV: Constitution Of Treason”
out September 19th 2005!
On September 19th 2005 Century Media Records Europe will release God
Forbid's “IV: Constitution of Treason”, their fourth full-length
release. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium etc.) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu,
Dillinger Escape Plan etc.), the album - a socially and politically
charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world - further displays the incredible
creativity and talent of one of the most highly respected bands in metal
today.
Lead guitarist Doc Coyle comments on this highly anticipated album:
"I'm extremely excited for our fans, new and old, to get a listen
of this album. It's a big step for God Forbid and I feel that we have
made our most diverse, deep and emotional record with out sacrificing
heaviness or artistic identity. In a current musical environment, where
there seem to a lot of boring, safe records, I feel confident that we've
continued to take chances while challenging ourselves to be a better
band. With all of that said, we made the record we wanted to make, and
we couldn't be happier with the results."
Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore etc.), who also illustrated God Forbid's
previous album Gone Forever, created the cover art. Says Doc, "Once
again Travis has hit it out of the ball park. The artwork for Constitution...
metaphorically displays what this album and it's content is really about.
It perfectly captures the lyrical darkness and the apocalyptic nature
of the album's concept."
The album's first pressing will be a limited edition dual-disc featuring,
in addition to the album itself, “The Act of Treason”; an
exclusive, making-of-the-album, behind-the-scenes documentary featuring
band interviews and tons of in-studio footage that takes you from rehearsals
to pre-production all the way to the mastering of “IV: Constitution
of Treason”.
In August director Eric Shamlin will oversee the album's first video
and single "Chains of Humanity". Expect the unexpected…
