The injury was caused during a bike outing, hitting an unknown object and being thrown from the bike. He is expected to heal and have a fast recovery with physical therapy to insure he does not lose his magic touch. “I am sorry to all that were coming for the performance, but I will make it up and announce new dates soon,” states John 5. SOTHIS - De Oppresso Liber; video announced De Oppresso Liber, the full-length debut from Los Angeles-based black metal band Sothis was recorded in the band's home city and mixed in Sweden by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond). A track from the album, "Of Night & Silence” has been uploaded to Sothis' Myspace page and website this week. Sothis have been a creative fixture on the Los Angeles area for years and already have a growing international fanbase. Sothis released through independent channels their four-song mini-album in late 2004. Finding the immediate attention of Revolver, Canada's Brave Words Bloody Knuckles, who stated "behold the next big black metal band," and England's Zero Tolerance, the recording triggered a very active and productive period for the five-piece. The band are regular live performers for the West Coast and have successfully toured throughout the Southwest (inspiring 2 self produced DVD releases). The band have also confirmed the filming of a video for the title track "De Oppresso Liber." The video will be shot in LA, directed by Joe Suarez (Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Evanescence) with an expected October release. Vocalist Drogoth states on the video: "We're very excited to be working with the immensely talented group of individuals that have signed on to work on the video.... Joe has been working closely with the band to explore the band's ideas, and has brought a lot of creativity to the project with ideas of his own. We feel that Joe is the best fit for directing the video and everyone is working to come up with the best possible visuals for a very high quality music video. We have some very creative ideas for the visuals, and some of the themes that were explored with the album cover artwork will be revisited for the video." America touring the US and Canada with FINNTROLL. It was quite a rush as we flew directly in from Amsterdam (as Holland was our last European show with Sworn Enemy/All Shall Perish) into Philadelphia and had to get our butts down to Jaxx in Springfield the next day to start this tour. It was a bit chaotic but we want to thank everyone who responded to our post for a ride. This tour has been great! It feels good to be back home and playing in front of metal audiences and sharing a bus with the 'Trolls has been awesome. It's been some time since we played the US, as we pretty much spent all summer in Europe, and it's nice to feel the energy of the audience every night. Merch sales have been good too - thanks! We were also happy to finally get to play some key markets on this tour, like Montreal and Toronto, which we hadn't previous, despite doing so many Canadian dates with Exodus earlier in the year, oddly those 2 places (as well as Quebec City) were not on that routing. We've heard so much about the scenes there and it was all true - good times! We actually got a DVD of our performance from the Montreal show so maybe we'll put up a song on our myspace page once we get back home. We were also happy to finally make up the Winnipeg date we missed on the Exodus tour due to some van issues. We're in Edmonton tonight and we've got 3 more Canadian shows before we get back into the US and play down the west coast. Our tour with OVERKILL starts Oct. 1 in L.A. now, as they pulled the first few shows. Sorry, it was not our faults. As we had some time in between we were able to schedule a make-up show in Mesa, AZ at the Cell Block on Sept. 19. The other BIG news today is the announcement of our first tour of 2009 - kicking off Jan. 30 in Rochester, NY for 2 months we'll be out with SOILWORK, DARKANE and SWALLOW THE SUN (check www.myspace.com/warbringer for dates). We're thrilled to start the year off right with a great line-up of bands and we'll be playing pretty much everywhere on that tour and getting back to some spots fans have been demanding of us to return, like Detroit, Denver, and all over Florida and Texas. Sulphur will enter the studio on the 1st of December to record their second album. The album will consist of 10 songs and will be recorded at Conclave Media studios with Bjørnar Nilsen as the producer. Pre-productions of all songs are now finished and we’ve just started the rehearsing process to prepare for the recording session in December. The album title will be announced at a later time.
