- Chinchilla News "The Prophecy" and Myspace
Hello
News from Chinchilla:
I thought it would be a good idea to inform you about the work on our
new CD "The Prophecy". I have loaded the pre-production from
our song 'Bloody Sacrifice' ,from our new album ' The Prophecy ' , down
on our www.myspace.com/chinchilla999
side. We will introduce every week another song, partially in shortened
form, to afford you an insight into our new musical work. We wish you
a lot of fun with the new songs. But don’t forget, this is not
the final mix, this is only a pre production by myself. Achim Köhler(
Primel Fear, Brainstrom, a.s.o) will start with the mix, in the end
of September.

has finished his work on the track Bad Guy and we where all full with
enthusiasm.
Cliff's opinion about the song Bad Guy:
The Bad Guy track sounds great.It really kicks ass.It's a real honour
to be playing on it.I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
Tom Naumann (Ex Primal Fear, Sinner) has finished his work on the track
“Unknown Heroes”.
Tom’s opinion about the new CD:
I feel honoured that I was allowed to contribute to the new Chinchilla
album with a few solos. Go buy the CD and go see the band live - but
don't forget: be excellent to each other and bang that head that doesn't
bang.

- Thrash and Burn Press release "An Irish tribute to Thrash"
THRASH & BURN "An Irish tribute to Thrash" Thrash &
Burn will be Ireland's first tribute to Thrash, it will be a limited
edition Digi "Thrash" Pack and will also be released on vinyl
(well all the original recordings we're originally on vinyl, so why
not the tribute album). It feature a wide variety from the Thrash and
crossover years to tantalize and take the listener on a trap down Thrash

- AXEMASTER back to work on new CD
AXEMASTER has gone back to the studio and is starting work once again
on their new CD "The Inner Terror". Unfortunately, the data
from the hard drive that crashed which contained many of the recording's
sound files has not been recovered. So to not waste anymore time waiting,
the band has decided to start fresh, replacing much of what was originally
done. This delay has been tough on everyone involved, but the positive
side to the problem is that after playing the songs MANY times since
the original tracks were recorded, there have been improvements made
by everyone on their parts which will enhance the songs overall. So
although the time lost has been costly, it will benefit the sound of
the final product. The band thanks all those who have stuck by them
through all this, asks everyone for your patience, and will finish the
project as quickly as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- WARREL DANE posts new video for “Brother” online &
more!
After the release of the stunning, first solo effort from Nevermore
vocalist WARREL DANE, “Praises To The War Machine”, earlier
this year, it is now time to present you the first video of it. The
album is the most personal offering of Dane’s stellar career with
many lyrics dealing with hurtful topics that haunt the singer to this
day. This is most evident in the track, “Brother,” and a
video for it was recently shot with up-and-coming director Max Gutierrez.
The clip is a very dark, introspective piece focusing on the relationship
between Dane and his brother following the death of their father. The

The new album, “Praises To The War Machine”, is being hailed
across the globe as one of the year’s best metal offerings and
with this effort one of metal’s most defining and revolutionary
vocalists further hones his craft to perfection. The album entered the
offical German album charts on #73 and also stayed for 5 weeks in the
Greek charts with highest peak at # 7.
Also, Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis has just released his first, all-instrumental
solo album this week in Europe (US release September 30th, 2008). “Zero
Order Phase” was recorded earlier this year with producer Neil
Kernon and drummer Mark Arrington, and features guest contributions
by Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, on “Jato Unit”), Michael Manring,
Pat O' Brien (Cannibal Corpse, on “Rage Against Disaster”)
and Neil Kernon. Renowned for his unique style of playing, this is the

Everybody who wants to watch Jeff's and Warrel’s live skills can
also look forward to the upcoming first NEVERMORE DVD/Live Album "The
Year Of The Voyager", which will be released on October 20th, 2008,

the DVD will be held at the Metropolis Cinema in the town of Bochum
(Germany), where the main show of the DVD was filmed at the Zeche Bochum
on October 11th, 2006. Warrel & Jeff will be attending this premiere

2008 has become an extremely exciting year in the history of Century
Media Records, one of the world’s most respected independent homes
for heavy music, as the label is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The company’s Anniversary year started off with an extremely successful,
first-ever yard sale/party at the Century Media office in Dortmund (Germany)
in June, where several hundred guests partied out on exclusive live

- NAPALM DEATH announce new album title!
UK’s legendary grindcore masters NAPALM DEATH have decided to
name their upcoming album “Time Waits For No Slave”, which
they are currently recording with producer Russ Russell.
Drums have been tracked at Parlour Studios in Kettering and guitars,
bass and vocals will be done at Foel Studios in Wales whereas the band
is going to return to Parlour for the mix. Expect the new album to surface
in early 2009!
NAPALM DEATH will only interrupt their studio work for a few selected

The South American heavy/folk metallers of LOTHLÖRYEN will release
in Brazil their second album, entitled "Some Ways Back No More",
in a few weeks, through Die Hard Records.
When waiting for the album's release the band will make a pre-release

- HAMMERFALL - STUDIO BLOG VIDEO AVAILABLE
Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL have posted the first two video blogs/reports
featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for
their new album.
The as-yet-untitled CD will include an instrumental written by the group's
latest addition, guitarist Pontus Norgren (THE POODLES, TALISMAN, GREAT
KING RAT), and a song entitled "One of a Kind," which was
written as a collaboration between HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak
and IN FLAMES axeman Jesper Strömblad (who was a member of HAMMERFALL
in the band's earliest incarnation).
Pontus Norgren joined HAMMERFALL as the replacement for Stefan Elmgren,
who left the band in early April to focus on his new career as a pilot.

- MELTDOWN - UPLOADS BRAND NEW TRACK!
Los Angeles-based thrashers MELTDOWN have posted a new song, "Panic,"
on their MySpace
page. The track comes off the group's forthcoming debut album, Executioner,
due in Europe on November 14 (North American Release Date: TBA) via
Nuclear Blast Records.
Executioner was recorded at Andy Classen's (LEGION OF THE DAMNED, DEW-SCENTED,
NEAERA, BELPHEGOR, ASPHYX) Stage One Studio in Germany.
Vocalist/guitarist Dan Wetmore states, "We had a killer time in
Germany recording with Andy Classen. His studio has seen some awesome
bands make killer records, and we feel ours definitely holds its own.
It's heavy, fast, aggressive, and completely true to the institution
of heavy metal. With few distractions in the German countryside, we
focused in on getting the album to sound exactly how we wanted.
Now, with the album's release, we're planning on unleashing our energy
in every city and town we can drag ourselves to."

- LORDI UNLEASHES A NEW LOOK AND READIES DEADACHE FOR AN OCTOBER 28th
RELEASE
Finnish Monster-Rockers Forge Forward!
New York, NY – Finnish monster-rockers LORDI announced that their
fourth studio album, entitled Deadache, will be released in the United
States on October 28th, 2008. A new album cycle calls for a new look
– fantastic (in both senses of the word) costumes designed by
Mr Lordi will surely fit the bill!
The anthemic first single off the Nino Laurenne-produced Deadache, “Bite
It Like A Bulldog,” will be serviced to US radio on October 20th.
The song (which can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/lordi)
features a powerful bass line and was co-written by Mr. Lordi and bassist
Mr. Ox. Other song titles from the upcoming opus include “Man
Skin Boots,” “Girls Go Chopping,” “Ghosts of
Heceta Head” and “Dead Bugs Bite.” The album has a
horror-theme, but a classic rock sound.
LORDI keyboardist Ms. Awa also promises something different, “The
music is guitar-based rock, just the way a rock band should be. The
album features sounds from the 80’s: hammond-style organs and
a bit of Rob Zombie-style as well. All the experiences we’ve had
and people we’ve met touring the world during the last few years
have had their influences on the album.”
A crucial element of LORDI’s appeal has always been the band’s
monster characters. As is customary for LORDI, the look of each character
has been redesigned for the new album. The new costumes, designed by
Mr. Lordi will make their in-person debut when LORDI headlines Popkomm
in Berlin this October. A photo is included with this missive.
LORDI’s previous studio album, The Arockalypse, has sold over
350,000 copies worldwide. The album has been released in over 30 countries,
including the US and Japan and the album has been certified over triple
platinum in the band’s home country of Finland, gold in Germany
and Sweden. The single “Hard Rock Hallelujah” has also achieved
gold status in Germany. The new album, Deadache, will be released in
over 30 countries as well, including all of Europe, the US, and Japan.

- Skyfire Reveals 'Esoteric' Artwork and Posts New Studio Update
The artwork for Swedish progressive metallers Skyfire’s latest
album Esoteric has been revealed on the band’s studio diary located
HERE.
The band has also posted a video clip from the studio and the following
update:
“Some good news and some bad...
First, the bad: We expected the recording of this album to take a while,
but unfortunately things took longer than we thought. Because we are
working with lots of keyboard tracks as well as orchestra and choir
samples (this was the big secret we were keeping from everyone, but
since things are taking so long it's only fair to let you guys know!),
recording this album will obviously take longer than usual. The month
of July was especially tedious for us. As a result of the delays, we
had to book the mix for next month, so we will hopefully be able to
post some new music in October or November. This also means that the
album itself will have to be released later than expected. We don't
want to make any promises we can't keep, so we will just say that the
new album will come out sometime early next year. We know this might
come as a disappointment to many, but if you guys were able to wait
since 2004, a few extra months should be nothing. =)
Now, the good: Because we are just as sad as you are due to the delays,
the band and the label have decided to reveal our amazing new artwork,

as far as tracking goes. We are just finishing up writing lyrics before

Northern CA technical death metal outfit Brain Drill has just announced
Joe Bondra of PA as their new drummer. Video footage of Joe covering
Brain Drill songs along with songs the band recorded with him when he

“I always thought that brain drill was one of the most brutal
bands in the death metal scene, and now I am extremely excited to be
part of that band and I am even more amped to be able to start playing

Brain Drill is now looking to recruit a new bass player. If you are

GUITAR LEGEND YNGWIE MALMSTEEN UNLEASHES FIRST NEW ALBUM IN THREE YEARS,
'PERPETUAL FLAME,' TO BE INDUCTED INTO ROCK WALK AND TOUR NORTH AMERICA
FALL 2008
The global rock guitar community will undoubtedly mark October 14, 2008
on their calendars, as this is the exact date that Yngwie Malmsteen
will be issuing his latest studio triumph, 'Perpetual Flame.' The album
will be the first-ever Yngwie album to be released via Rising Force
Records (distributed via Koch), while the album also marks the debut
on an Yngwie album by ex-Judas Priest/Iced Earth frontman, Tim 'Ripper'
Owens.
Twelve tracks of pure six string metallic bliss (which stretches to
almost 70 minutes total), the album was produced and engineered by Yngwie
himself, and mixed by Roy Z (who has previously worked with Judas Priest
and Bruce Dickinson, among others). Joining Yngwie and Ripper on the
album is keyboardist Derek Sherinian and drummer Patrick Johansson (Yngwie
contributed bass, additional keyboards, and vocals, as well), but on
tour, Michael Troy will supply keyboards, and Bjorn Englen will be laying
down the bass. A supporting tour of the U.S. and Canada is slated to
run through all of October.
Single-handedly, Yngwie Malmsteen trailblazed the classical metal movement
in the 1980's. During a time when the majority of guitarists were merely
copying Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie was one of the few rock guitarists to
create his own instantly-identifiable playing style – which has
been subsequently mimicked by countless other guitarists. Yngwie is
responsible for issuing some of the metal's all-time great guitar classics,
especially such releases as 1984's 'Rising Force,' 1985's 'Marching
Out,' 1992's 'Fire and Ice,' and most recently, 2005's 'Unleash the
Fury.'
In addition to the arrival of 'Perpetual Flame' in October, another
career highlight is slated for that same month – Yngwie will be
inducted into the Rock Walk on Monday, October 13th in Los Angeles.
Additionally a new Fender/Yngwie Malmsteen custom shop guitar will be
unveiled on November 28th (with a limited run of 100 instruments) and
there will be a slew of CD reissues of Yngwie classics to soon be announced.
And the accolades continue to pour in - 'Roadie Crew Magazine' organized
a poll in which 330 respected rock guitarists were asked to vote for
their favorite guitarist of all-time. Yngwie checked in at a lofty number
3, only behind fellow legends Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen. Without
question, 2008 is shaping up to be the year of Yngwie.

Produced by Gary Holt, “Let There Be Blood” was recorded
at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA, JKZ Production Studio in San Rafael,
CA with vocal tracks recorded at J. Rod Production Studios in New City,
NY. Andy Sneap mixed and mastered the album at Backstage Studios in
Derbyshire, UK.
The release date for "Let
There Be Blood” is October 28, 2008 through Zaentz Records

For the troops in the trenches, it began in 1982 with a low generation
copy of a local band’s three-song demo. For some, it began with
their first listen to Combat Records’ version of "Bonded
By Blood" in 1986. Regardless of the year EXODUS are the undeniable
forefathers of thrash metal.
EXODUS gained huge notoriety in the international underground scene
as a result of the tape trading community. Their dynamic guitar riffing,
adrenaline-inducing drum work, and bloodied live shows made all the
difference in the band’s mission to take Bay Area Thrash to a
worldwide audience.
The immortal, must-have, thrash classic "Bonded By Blood"
was released in 1985 via Torrid Records (then re-released in 1986 on
Combat Records), and inspired the likes of Testament, Death Angel, Vio-lence
and many others. To this day "Bonded By Blood" is inspiring
a whole new breed of thrash metal. Gary Holt, songwriter and lead guitarist
of EXODUS, has released the following statement about the band's decision
to revisit this classic album that began an era in music history.
"After many years in the planning and discussion stage, we have
finally completed the re-recording of "Bonded By Blood." We
have decided to call it "Let There Be Blood" and it is our
way of paying homage to [original singer] Paul Baloff by showing how
relevant these songs we had written together still are. We aren't trying
to replace the original, that's impossible anyway. We are just giving
these songs the benefit of modern production. It's something we talked
about before Paul's death and it's always been important to us to do.
We were super excited about entering the studio once again to record
these classics, and now it's back to writing the next studio record!"

Glasgow Grin has also revealed that “Saints of the Greatest Sin”
will be a concept record based around a serial killer who murders pedophiles.
The album artwork will be based around the concept with the liner notes
containing an eight page short story.
“This time around we decided to create an experience that combines
music, writing, and artwork into one cohesive tapestry and the result
is something that we are proud to share with everyone. Themes throughout
the album vary from justifiable homicide to religion, and the album
is based around the story of a young man on a murder spree fueled by
his faith in God,” says Shortt about the concept behind the group’s
debut. “The relationship that the main character shares with God
is meant to display how confusion in ideology can create hypocrisy,
embracing the Lord on one hand and breaking commandments on the other.”

- PSYCROPTIC: New Song Posted!
Tasmanian tech-death masters, PSYCROPTIC, have uploaded a brand new
track and cover art to the bands Myspace (www.myspace.com/psycroptic).
The song “Immortal Army of One” was taken from “Ob(Servant),”
the band’s first album for Nuclear Blast Records and fourth overall.
“Ob(Servant)” will be released on October 14th in North
America. Drummer Dave Haley commented:
“'Immortal Army of One' is one of my personal favorites on “Ob(servant)”.
The riffs on it are catchy as hell and stick in your head, and it is
a very brutal song. Yet, it has a lot of dynamics throughout and is
quite technical. It’s very PSYCROPTIC sounding, yet there are
a lot of new sounds and ideas introduced. Just an all round cool track
both to listen to and play.
Lyrically, the song explores the the idea of a suicidal god like being
– one who has omnipotence yet wants to relinquish it. A twisted
thought - a being who has the choice to do anything desired, except
giving up such a power; all powerful yet powerless at the same time.”
“Ob(Servant)” was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD
and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and recorded
once again by guitarist Joe Haley.
PSYCROPTIC recently returned home after a very successful US debut on
this years Summer Slaughter tour, which included THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER,

for 'OVERCOME'
Massachusetts’ ALL THAT REMAINS has unveiled the band’s
new video for the track “Chiron,” from the forthcoming album
‘Overcome’ exclusively online as Buzznet.com’s video
of the day. The clip was shot earlier this summer while the band
was in Los Angeles with director Brian Thompson (As I Lay Dying, Killswitch
Engage) and a behind the scenes clip is also available here.
Meanwhile, ALL THAT REMAINS has also unveiled the track listing for
‘Overcome,’ which marks the first time the band has covered
a song, Nevermore’s “Believe In Nothing.” “We
decided to do a cover on this disc and we didn't want to do what every
other band is doing these days and take a pop or rock song from the
80s,” frontman Phil Labonte says. “We figured a song by
a band with real metal cred would do best for us. This song never got
the attention it deserved. It's an amazingly well written song and even
though it's not the most complex song Nevermore has done it is, in my
opinion, one of their best. We ran the idea by Nevermore and they gave
us their blessing so we were very happy to have the original artists
behind it. I couldn't be happier with the way it came out!”

as DVD and CD, including a comprehensive Bonus-CD compilation of more
than an hour of quality rare and unreleased studio tracks on August
25th, 2008.
The 2-CD (Playing time of over 2 hours!) and the special DVD version
(Playing time of the DVD is over 100 minutes and both audio CD’s
are included in this package as well!) are a complete guide into the
vaults of DREAM EVIL and a trip to the core of true METAL at its very
