NEW ALBUM "THE WATER FIELDS" OUT NOW !
"Dear All,
Finally the time has come!
Our new album "The Water Fields" is now released! We are very
proud of this album and we hope you will love it too. The initial reactions
and reviews are very promising! The band went further again, reaching
a new stage in terms of songwriting and maturity. This album is much
heavier and darker, but also more diverse and full of sheer emotion…
Even the production of Andy Classen outdoes the job on our previous
material…"

- CELTIC FROST Mainman Working On HELLHAMMER Book
CELTIC FROST mainman Tom Gabriel Fischer has issued the following update:
"I spent hours yesterday in the presence of HELLHAMMER's two iconic
former bass players, Steve Warrior and Martin Eric Ain. We interviewed
Steve Warrior in detail for the forthcoming HELLHAMMER book, 'Only Death
Is Real', to be published sometime in 2008. Although I had spoken to
Steve several times in recent months in the course of the research for
the book, yesterday marked the first time I had seen him in many, many
years. It was emotional and, I believe, a truly special experience for
all of us.
"The book will be a veritable treasure trove. Between the archives
of Martin, Steve, and myself, we are in possession of literally hundreds
of photos, a great many of them never before published. There also exists
an abundance of rare or never before seen original artwork, logos, sketches,
and so on. Moreover, we have received remarkable material from collectors
hailing from Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, England,
and the USA. The book will be huge, both in content as well as in format.
And it will be the first time Hellhammer's story will be recorded correctly,
and in the words of the former members. The information available today
on the internet is, without exception, riddled with inaccuracies and
outright misinformation.
"I began this book project on a much smaller scale a number of
years ago, and it has grown beyond all expectations. It will mark the
conclusion of a frequently difficult path for me and, I believe, for
Martin, as well. It is no secret that HELLHAMMER was often a truly ambiguous,
even outright destructive topic in my life. Or, likely, in the lives
of all of the band's former main members. It was, for a long time, difficult
for most of us to come to terms with HELLHAMMER's often chaotic and
radically varied legacy. HELLHAMMER was much maligned, both during its
existence and for years afterwards. Moreover, it was frequently very
challenging to come to terms with how others interpreted HELLHAMMER
and how they referred to and expanded upon what we had once created.
"I am very proud today to have been part of HELLHAMMER, and to
have been granted to play with those who constituted the band. It was
hard for me to get here. There were times of utter personal denial,
for which I was criticized, almost certainly rightfully so. And yet
many of those who felt compelled and qualified to voice their denigration
with their big fucking mouths were so far off from the reality of what
took place, both within my emotions and around me. It was pathetic.
They all professed to know me, know my innermost thoughts, even though
they at best had pieced together a distorted, moronic version of the
actual reasons for my protracted path.
"There was only one person to have been there from the very first
day of HELLHAMMER to the very last. That person was me."

- FOREIGNER TO PERFORM WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS LABEL MATES LED ZEPPELIN
AT TRIBUTE CONCERT IN HONOR OF THE LATE AHMET ERTEGUN TO BENEFIT THE
AHMET ERTEGUN EDUCATION FUND
BAND TO TOUR UK BEGINNING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND ON
A TREK THAT WILL LAST THROUGH TRIBUTE CONCERT AT LONDON'S O2 ARENA ON
NOVEMBER 26
CATALOG OF MUSIC REMAINS IMMENSELY POPULAR AS FOREIGNER HITS NUMBER
SIXTEEN ON BILLBOARD CHART
On Monday, November 26, 2007, Foreigner will share the same stage at
London's O2 Arena with Atlantic Records label mates Led Zeppelin for
a long-anticipated tribute concert honoring the late Ahmet Ertegun,
the visionary founder of Atlantic Records.
"Ahmet's combination of charm, humour, irreverence and above all
his great passion for music, made getting to know him one of the brightest
highlights of my life," says Foreigner founder Mick Jones, whose
band created sixteen top thirty hits for the label. "I feel truly
honoured to be participating in this unique and exciting event."
(see full quote attached)
Foreigner and Ahmet's Atlantic experienced nothing short of a tremendous
collaboration. The band is second only to the legendary Led Zeppelin
in worldwide sales of all artists currently distributed by Atlantic.
Foreigner "4" spent more weeks on the Billboard chart at number
one than any album by AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, U2, The Rolling Stones, Genesis,
Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and every other artist in Atlantic Records
60 year history. The strength of the Foreigner catalogue continues,
and no Atlantic classic rock era artist comes close to Led Zeppelin
and Foreigner to this day. In fact, the band's 'Very Best and Beyond"
catalogue CD just hit #16 on Billboard charts and has been certified
double platinum.
As expected and hoped for, Jason Bonham -- son of the late Led Zeppelin
drummer John Bonham and Foreigner's drummer -- will be joining Robert
Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones for the historic benefit concert.
"I must thank Mick for giving me the time off from Foreigner to
fulfil a dream that was once thought to be my destiny," says Jason.
"Led Zeppelin are to play at the O2 arena in London on the 26th
of November for their dear friend Ahmet Ertegun to raise money for his
educational foundation. Ahmet was a huge part of Led Zeppelin's and
my father's success. He was a very special man, and it is a truly great
privilege for me to join Robert, Jimmy, and John Paul for this concert.
I am sure Ahmet and my father will be watching. I hope to do them proud."
(see full quote attached)
Proceeds from the concert spectacle -- which will include performances
by Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings and Paolo Nutini
-- will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund which provides students
with annual scholarships to universities in the UK, USA and Turkey.
In addition, a music scholarship open to all will be established at
Ravensbourne College in the UK.
Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime concert will be available by ballot
only with names being chosen at random. To register, please go to www.ahmettribute.com.
Tickets will be limited to two successful applicants per household.
Beginning approximately two weeks prior to the Tribute To Ahmet Ertegun,
Foreigner will be embarking on a tour of the UK on a trek that will
encompass the following cities*:
Friday, November 9th - ABC in Glasgow, Scotland
Saturday, November 10th - Newcastle City Hall in Newcastle, England
Monday, November 12th - St. David's Hall in Cardiff
Tuesday, November 13th - Guildhall in Portsmouth, England
Thursday, November 15th - Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England
Friday, November 16th - Apollo in Manchester, England
Saturday, November 17th - Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, England
*More dates to possibly be announced.
The November UK comes hot on the heels of the band's summer tour where
they hooked up with Def Leppard and Styx for approximately thirty shows
in addition to several solo performances and an extensive tour of Germany.
The journey through Europe will coincide with the release of the band's
forthcoming live DVD, Alive & Rockin', which will be released on
Eagle Rock Entertainment.
Please stay tuned.

first single available in stores now, and “I Will Live Again”,
both with acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Lacuna Coil,
etc.).
Michael Amott comments on the video shoot experience, “Working
with Patric Ullaeus for the first time was a blast! Patric was super
professional and cool to work with. It was the most painless video shoot
I have ever been a part of (luckily I didn't get burnt like Daniel and
Angela). Be sure to check out our MySpace page to view some photos from
the shoots and I can't wait to see the finished results.”
“Rise Of The Tyrant” has been receiving huge acclaim from

- DETHKLOK To Tour
Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s highly rated late-night programming
block for young adults, today announces its first two nationwide concert
tours. In usual Adult Swim style, the 24-campus music tour promises
to be like no other.
On October 1, a 12-campus hip-hop tour begins with a concert at the
State University of New York campus in Albany, featuring Ghostface Killah
and Witchdoctor. On October 29, a 12-campus heavy metal tour lets loose
with headliner And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Opening for
Trail of Dead is none other than Dethklok, the heavy metal band from
Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse television series. All shows are open
to students. Ticket information can be obtained online at www.adultswimpresents.com.
And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead (Interscope Records) will
headline the heavy metal tour. Formed in 1994 by singers/guitarists/drummers
Jason Reece and Conrad Keely, Trail of Dead eventually signed to Interscope
Records and in 2002 issued the formidable album “Source Tags &
Codes.” Their most recent album, “So Divided,” was
released in late 2006. Opening for Trail of Dead is the self-described
world’s most popular and heaviest metal band, Dethklok. Dethklok
and its band members are the stars of the popular Adult Swim animated
series, Metalocalypse, the brainchild of creators Brendon Small and
Tommy Blacha. For the Adult Swim tour, Small, who is the lead vocalist,
brings the animated characters to life with a real live band. Dethklok’s
first album, “Metalocalypse: Dethklok The Dethalbum,” will
be released on Williams Street September 25.
The schedule for the heavy metal tour will be released at a later date.

- Conquest of Steel in injury shock!
Following an evening of heavy drinking with fellow band members, Conquest
of Steel guitarist DD Danger fell headlong down his house stairs after
taking a drunken stumble at the very top of the staircase. The fall
resulted in a badly sprained wrist, extensive bruising, cuts and slight
concussion. DD was forced to miss the scheduled gig at York (UK) Cert
18 the following night; however the band continued to play on in his
absence. DD’s wrist is now healing and he should be back in action
for the Meltdown Metal Fest in Birmingham (UK) on 31st September.
This incident follows drummer Chris ‘The Destroyer’ Mills
breaking his wrist at the DOD festival in Ireland in June, and bassist
Vic Victory breaking his collar bone earlier in the year. Is it possible
that Conquest of Steel are cursed? Are the forces of mainstream music
conspiring against them to halt their goal of playing the loudest most
Heavy Metal music known to mankind?
Let it be known that none shall stop the Steel. Conquest of Steel will
continue to battle on in the face of adversity, pitting themselves against
the forces of nature and playing True Heavy Metal until the end of time.
- MUSHROOMHEAD Percussionist To Perform With MARAZENE On Fall Tour
In a follow up to last weeks announcement, Chicago based Machine / Metalists
Marazene
have announced that MUSHROOMHEAD percussionist Dan 'Little Dan' Fox
will fill in for them on drums on their upcoming tour.
Drummer and co-founder Kristov Kemp had confirmed to the band only last
week a cancer relapse that will require immediate chemotherapy treatment
and which will force him to sit out the Fall tour.
The blog posted by multi-instrumentalist and co-founder DieTrich Thrall
follows:
"MARAZENE would like to thank the entire SkumF***er Nation for
all of your support following last weeks disappointing announcement
regarding our brother Kristov's current health crisis.
Marazene understand the importance of a touring opportunity for an independent
band such as ours. While bands such as Static X, Nine Inch Nails, or
Korn could easily reschedule a National Tour, Marazene are forced to
consider numerous pros and cons. So many logistics had to be in the
bag by the time we got the update on Kristov's health situation. We
could all just turn around, throw in the towel, and give up but that's
not Kristov's way of dealing with his health nor is it our way of dealing
with our band.
Kristov needs to focus on fighting this. He can never be replaced. That
can never be questioned. He'll be back. And Marazene will only be stronger
in the long run.
We're fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to have Dan
'Little Dan' Fox jump on board to cover live drums with such little
notice. He's an amazing talent and probably the only person in the world
who could've filled in for our brother Kristov during this generally
shitty turn of events. A very special thanks goes out to him.
And so on behalf of Marazene and with Kristov's full endorsement, Marazene
will continue forward with our Fall tour plans!
Special thanks and mention go out to members of Mushroomhead who have
patiently stood by us as we decided how best to proceed with the tour.
Marazene have always endured on the very hard work of it's team and
the unwavering support of our friends and fans! None of this would be
possible without you and we thank you again for sticking by us during
this difficult time!"
Kristov Kemp was first diagnosed with intestinal cancer in May 2006
and had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and numerous lymph nodes
followed by chemotherapy for much of the remainder of the year. Despite
the intensive treatment, he continued to perform with Marazene as they
toured the Midwest in support of the self release of their debut album,
'MachiNation'.
Marazene only weeks ago announced their upcoming tour with Megaforce
recording artist MUSHROOMHEAD and Metropolis records PSYCLON NINE. The
three bands had previously toured together for four weeks in the Spring.

- THINE EYES BLEED To Release New Album In March '08
THE END RECORDS has set a release date of March 4th, 2008 for the self-titled
sophomore
release from Canadian thrashers THINE EYES BLEED.
In a band update, several members voiced their thoughts on the new album:
"This ain't your one-note-chug-along and dance to-gay-haircut metal.
There is thought behind the music and passion behind the musicianship.
Metal that isn't compromising or commercial. This is the real deal.
All killer and no filler... no singing... no 'breakdowns'. Real metal
for real metalers. Keep it brutal and stay heavy." - Johnny Araya,
bassist
"We never really discussed the direction. We all just knew it had
be honest, unrellenting, abusive, and evil. That is what metal was all
about in our opinion. The outcome is violent and makes me smile from
begining to end." - Jeff Phillips, guitarist
"We never set any direction for this album, we did it for ourselves...
It's a much more focused album than our debut and it's going to show.
It's an in your face metal album for the true metalheads out there..
the only way I can describe it is pure evil..." - Justin Wolfe,
singer

The band is currently scheduling some tour dates this fall across North
America.
The band re-released their 2005 debut for THE END RECORDS, entitled
"In the Wake of Separation", in May of 2006. The
CD included the bonus track "Better off Dead" (previously
available only in Japan) and the video for "Cold Victim".
Also last year, THINE EYES BLEED took part in the mega-successful North
American and European legs of the 2006 UNHOLY
ALLIANCE TOUR, which featured SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MASTODON and

- Crown the Lost has parted ways with drummer Jordan Villella
Crown the Lost has parted ways with drummer Jordan Villella. Jordan
helped us out during a very rough time late last year and for that,
we are forever indebted to him. We certainly wish him luck in his future
endeavors. Replacing Jordan is a familiar face in the form of Nick Bentzel,
who played Joe, Ryan, and myself in Sinning Is Our Savior. Not only
is Nick a very cool guy, he's quite the accomplished drummer and has
already taken our new and old songs to a new level. Nick will be playing
on the forthcoming album and all future live dates.

“Weedeater scream 'stoned' like you wouldn't believe, but they
do it with a syrupy conviction and some of the nastiest bass guitar
fuzz this side of a crust punk show in a knife sharpening factory.”
— Metal Maniacs
"Now on their third album of bluesy, Southern-fried stoner metal,
they've poured their bile into seven original songs and one fitting
Lynyrd Skynyrd cover... Having teamed with engineer extraordinaire Steve
Albini, God Luck and Good Speed is Weedeater’s best album yet."
— Decibel
"There is enough plodding, molasses thick rhythms for the dedicated
doomsters and plenty of quick-paced numbers and compositional variety
for those with little patience for typical doom and sludge albums. At
a compact 38 minutes, God Luck and Good Speed well get you drunk, dirty,
stoned, and a little disoriented." — Blabbermouth
"...once again it seems that Weedeater is only going to keep getting
better and better with age. My expectations were blown to bits."

- INTRONAUT lineup alteration, new song posted
We are very excited to debut the new song "The Challenger"
from Intronaut's upcoming album entitled The Challenger in stores October
30th! Check out the Translation Loss or Intronaut MySpace pages to hear
the new track, and don't forget your helmet!!!
Also, Leon Del Muerte has quit Intronaut to pursue new musical endeavors.
He will be reactivating his long-defunct Murder Construct project as
well as continue to play bass in Phobia.
He says, "I had a lot of fun playing and learning new things with
Intronaut and got to tour with some great bands and made a lot of new
friends. Ultimately, I feel I've just strayed too far from my roots
and could not hold back the other members of the band with my single-minded
desire to grind. Peace, bitches!"
Replacing him will be our long time friend Dave Timnick. Dave is a very
talented and proficient musician, we're stoked. In addition to being
a great guitar player, he is also a skilled percussionist and has studied
tabla with Aloke Dutta. We can't wait to get things going with this
revamped lineup!
Watch for more updates on The Challenger and Intronaut in general from
Earsplit in the coming months....

- TURISAS premiere "Rasputin" video clip @ MySpace!
It is truly something very special what infamous Finnish folk metal
warriors TURISAS unleash upon you now with the premiere of their fantastic
new clip “Rasputin”, an insane cover version of the old
Boney M. classic every fan should already recognise from their unforgettable
live shows.
Band mastermind Warlord comments the clip as follows:
"This video is pretty far from what you'd expect from a TURISAS-video
- or any metal video for that matter! The idea to the video is just
as wild as the cover song itself: a battle metal band covering a 70's
disco hit. Just as the song, it is a crossover of the 70's kitsch attached
to the Boney M - track, but performed by us as we do it. Director Vesa-Matti
Vainio and the whole crew did a great job on this one and to me, this
is a good pick for our first video ever. I assure you, there are plenty
of ideas on epic spectacles to be looked into later."
So cover your disco plateau boots with blood by dancing wildly on this
one! Watch the clip here: www.myspace.com/turisasofficial
TURISAS’ version of “Rasputin” will be available on
the “Rasputin” Single, which will hit stores on the following
dates:
GERMANY: Friday, September 21, 2007.
UK / FRANCE / VARIOUS OTHER TERRITORIES: Monday, September 24, 2007.
SPAIN: Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
FINLAND: Wednesday, September 26, 2007.
It will be released as CD-Single also including the band’s classic
tune "Battle Metal" as well as strictly limited Picture 7”
vinyl featuring “The Court Of Jarisleif” as B-Side.

- Machine Head claims Disney has it out for the band.
According to a statement by the band, Disney allegedly pressured Live
Nation into canceling a Machine Head show at the House of Blues in Anaheim,CA
which sits on a plot of land owned by Disney Properties. When Machine
Head b1ew the whistle on Disney, the company retaliated by canceling
a second HoB performance, this time on Disney property in Orlando, Fl.
Disney has halted all upcoming heavy metal concerts at the HoB location,
according to the statement, and placed Machine Head "under an internal
'review process'
If this is a policy for Disney, it's a recent one. Acts to play HoB
Anaheim this year include Lacuna Coil / Shadows Fall, and Static X -
not exactly family fare. HoB Orlando (which is actually in Lake Buena
Vista) has hosted Rise Against, Hatebreed, Static X and Lacuna Coil
/ Shadows Fall.

- BOBAFLEX RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE ON OCTOBER 30 WITH TALES FROM DIRT
TOWN
West Virginian metal maniacs Bobaflex will follow up their cherished
2005 release Apologize For Nothing on October 30 with Tales From Dirt
Town. The 12-track disc was produced and mixed by Russ T. Cobb (Sevendust)
and recorded at Bang! Studios in Atlanta.
Expanding on the brutality of their debut, Tales From Dirt Town incorporates
elements of classic rock shaking up an already schizophrenic sound of
heavy riffs and growling to harmonious vocals traded off by the band’s
four vocalists. Brutal tracks like “Sellout” “That
Ole Speed”, and “Need A Drink” are met head-on by
soaring, almost epic tracks like “Satisfied”, “Savior”
and “Home” which will serve as the album’s first single.
With Dave Cobb’s excellent production bringing out all facets
of the band’s sound, Tales From Dirt Town proves to be one of
the most accomplished heavy rock albums of 2007.
In addition to appearing on Gigantour (the band was handpicked by Megadeth’s
Dave Mustaine) and a tour with Twizted, Bobaflex proved to be one of
the hardest working bands in the scene by simply jumping in their van
and playing non-stop gigs around the country over the past 3 years.
The band possesses an exceptional live show with members constantly
switching instruments and swapping turns on lead vocals.
Bobaflex will again tear up stages with non-stop touring for the remainder
of 2007 and all of 2008.
