- LACUNA COIL Enter The Studio; Choose New Album Title
The Italian hard rock sensation, whose standout Active Rock singles
for "Heaven's A Lie" and "Swamped," led Billboard
to name them one of last year's biggest success stories - entered the
studio on September 3rd to begin tracking Karmacode, the highly anticipated
follow-up to their critically acclaimed commercial breakthrough album,
Comalies. The new effort is currently being co-produced once again with
Waldemar Sorychta and LACUNA COIL and will be mixed by the acclaimed
Ronald Prent (Rammstein, H.I.M., Iron Maiden) and mastered by Darcy
Proper (Steely Dan, Porcupine Tree, R.E.M.) at Galaxy Studios in Belgium.
An early 2006 release is expected.
Andrea Ferro (vocals) describes the meaning behind the album's unique
title: "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted
to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another
that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual
translation of Karmacode it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and
the message behind it'. The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming,
self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live
a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."
With three full-length albums and two EPs to their credit, LACUNA COIL
has ensured that each offering further enunciates the subtle, solemn
beauty the sextet creates. Comalies maturely exhibits the trademarked
gothic overtones and poignant melancholy of their haunting musical landscape.
In early 2004, Lacuna Coil's successes were validated with an invitation
to participate in that year's Ozzfest, supporting such metal stalwarts
as Judas Priest, Slayer and Ozzy himself. Additional summer touring
with P.O.D. and Ozzfest off-date performances with Superjoint Ritual
and Devildriver gave the band its busiest season yet. Led by the undeniably
captivating Cristina Scabbia (vocals), the group garnered mainstream
acclaim from such publications as Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone
and Stuff, among others.
The group spent this summer performing at some of Europe's premier festivals
alongside such household names as Green Day, Incubus and System of A

- ARCH ENEMY - Announce new tour-guitarist & tour update!
Extreme Metal outfit ARCH ENEMY have a new guitar player in their ranks
who replaces Chris Amott for the band’s massive touring activities
starting in early October. The new axe-wizard’s name is Fredrik
Åkesson who already showed his talent for renowned artists like
Talisman, Krux, John Norum, Tiamat and also in his own band Southpaw.
His comment on joining forces with ARCH ENEMY: “I was really thrilled
when Michael Amott called me up and gave me the opportunity to play
with ARCH ENEMY. I am excited about going on tour with them, and to
meet you all. C-Ya out there - it's time to burn!"Furthermore the
band has just made a kick start on this year’s Ozzfest tour: the
critically acclaimed new album “Doomsday Machine” has sold
impressive 35.000 copies in the States, dominated the sales at the Ozzfest
and made ARCH ENEMY this year’s standout, breakthrough artist

Merendine Atomiche announce new album "Raw" has been recorded.
It has been a great month and the job done has been amazing. The band
want to thanks Luigi Stefanini from New Sin studios and Jack Frost who
co produced with band this new disc and played great solos and backing
vocals in a couples of songs. The experience and the attitude of these
two men helped Merendine Atomiche to produce a great album at least
ten times better than the last one.
Actually merendine atomiche start to move around the industry to search
for a new label who can support their new job.
Meanwhile they communicate the official and final track list and the
shows they're gonna play in next months.

RIZZO’S SOLO CD - ‘COLOSSAL MYOPIA’ RECENTLY RELEASED
ON SHRAPNEL RECORDS
HOLLYWOOD (September 28, 2005) - Marc Rizzo is one of the new breed
of young guitarists in contemporary bands and has built a substantial
following through his years of touring and recording with IL Nino and
Soulfly. Recently, Rizzo has stepped out with solo projects that reveal
a phenomenal command of the guitar. “Colossal Myopia” unveils
Rizzo to be a master musician with deep musical roots in metal, classical
and flamenco guitar
“Colossal Myopia” is a mixture of all the music that Rizzo
listens to. It’s a combination of Metal Nuevo Flamenco and Jazz.
“I don’t really listen to one type of music and I think
my record showcases that,” explains Rizzo. “It’s an
all instrumental CD for music lovers that want to enjoy pure music without
all the politics and negative lyrical content.”
Rizzo’s raw energy combined with the talent of a new-generation
shred-master is a much needed breath of fresh air to the instrumental
rock genre. Rizzo goes on to describe some of the music - “Colossal
Myopia is a song that I wrote while trying to combine heavy riffing
with flamenco buleria rhythms. Introspection Of An Introvert is pure
shred metal, while the Piñata Hits Back is Nuevo flamenco guitar
with salsa style percussion. This entire record is a total trip and
I’m glad to finally have put a record out that combines all the
music I love on one record. “Colossal Myopia” is really
just a look into my CD collection, because I love listening to Paco
de Lucia and then metal. These styles were meant to be together.”

- Fire Destroys GRENOUER's Rehearsal Studio
On the 23rd September 2005, as a result of a fire at the Grenouer make
shift rehearsal studio, the band lost all their instruments and equipment.
As the band was simply subletting this space in the Vereteno factory
in St. Petersburg they cannot expect any financial compensation from
the factory owners, let alone an apology. The fire started as a consequence
of an unqualified welder (twat!!!) who was carrying some work in the
nearby area. At the moment the factory management is doing everything
possible to cover these facts up and create a new version of events
in order to avoid hefty penalties.

All of the bands equipment either perished in the fire or became totally
unusable due water damagefrom the firemen's attempts to put the fire
out. This unfortunate event took place right at the peakof Grenouer's
preparation for the recording of their fifth full length album when
the dates for the recording sessions had already been booked at the
ASTIA studio in Finland.
IND (Vocals): "This situation is quite dramatic because the fire
has been a set back to many of our plans, however we're not going to
give up! On the contrary, we must get through this and at the very least
partially realise our plans. Of course we're gonna start by getting
new instruments, amps and all other necessary devices and if someone
feels like giving us a helping hand they can always get in touch with
us by email, however, our enemies will now have reason to celebrate.
As a result of this incident, I believe that the subject of fire and
destruction will now find a place in our writing.
Anyway, it's too early to write Grenouer off yet!!!"

- King’s X Announces Dates for National Tour
Band Touring Behind Latest Album “Ogre Tunes”
Riding high off the success of their latest album “Ogre Tunes”,
which was released September 27th via InsideOut Music, King’s
X has announced a fall tour which kicks off October 25th in Baltimore,
MD.
“Ogre Tunes”, which is the band’s first release under
their new deal with InsideOut, was produced by Michael Waegener (Metallica,
Alice Cooper, Queen) and includes such smash singles as “Alone,”
“Open My Eyes,” and “Get Away”. A departure

On September 18th As I Lay Dying Teamed Up With Director Lex Halaby
(Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne) To Add "Through Struggle" To
The AILD'S Video Arsenal.
Shot at the Morell Meats Lot, an abandoned meat locker near downtown
Los Angeles, these eerie cement structures played as a backdrop to "Through
Struggle" the emotionally charged second single off As I Lay Dying's
record breaking album Shadows Are Security. The video and song are tightly
connected; bringing life to a concept that captures the strength of
an intense and powerful song.
Band members and Lex collaborated on the unique and vividly dark concept
drawing inspiration from a very specific stanza in the lyrics:
Only through struggle have I found rest
With a piece of me taken away
I begin to understand
Hollow out this machine like chest
With its gears that turn to make me feel
And assembled thoughts that fade away
Remove from me this deception that I called love
The strong imagery created during this shoot brings a new life to "Through
Struggle." Tim Lambesis elaborates, "Spending a whole day
in an old abandoned meat locker may not sound like a good time, but
we really could not be happier with how well the video shoot went with
Lex Halaby and his crew. The content came out way better than we could
have expected, the imagery really captured the song, and we can't wait
for you all to see it."

- DESPISED ICON Embark On Massive North American Tour With Suffocation
and Cryptopsy; New Video Completed
The Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON will embark on
a massive North American tour this week alongside Suffocation, Cryptopsy
and Aborted in support of The Healing Process, their highly-acclaimed
new album. The group's explosive live performances on their first national
US tour alongside Deicide, Immolation, Skinless and With Passion earlier
this year caught the entire metal community's attention, and they look
to further establish their position as one of the genre's most devastating

NEW ALBUM MERCILESS (TRUSTKILL)
New York hardcore legends Most Precious Blood (MPB) have been named
by Hatebreed as direct support on their 10th anniversary tour this fall.
As MPB guitarist Justin Brannan relates "We got an e-mail while
on tour from Jamey (Jasta) asking us to join them on tour. It's gonna
be great as we've been great friends with those guys for years but never
got a chance to tour together." It's a full circle as Hatebreed
actually opened for Most Precious Blood in their early incarnation as
Indecision many years ago. Most Precious Blood have had an interesting
year to say the least. The band just returned from a two week tour of
South Africa as the FIRST US hardcore band to tour the country. "I
think the kids there were just as surprised to see us as we were surprised
them," Brannan relates of the sold out shows through the tour.
The band who pride themselves in their upbringing in gritty New York
City were even taken aback by seeing how rugged the street life there
is. "We were leaving a restauraunt and saw an armed robbery that
ended in a shoot-out. It was insane! "
Most Precious Blood also just released their new full-length Merciless
on Trustkill Records which upholds their potent mesh of hardcore, stinging
metal riffs, and goth aesthetic in their sound. The band also keeps
politics and outspokenness on the world alive in their lyrics and imagery.
Merciless is the second album by the band to be banned because of its
cover art, the booklet displaying a very life-like corpse who has rotting
in his apartment. "It wasn't done for shock value, its portraying
reality. It's a young guy who dies in his apartment and no one cares
enough to find out why he isn't around anymore." Even more ironic
is the band got more heat from this album cover than their last one
Our Lady Of Annihilation which had an image of the Virgin Mary with
dynamite strapped to her chest.
True to form, Merciless has lyrical ammo throughout and pulls no punches
while talking about religion as fueling war, animal rights, veganism
and commercialism's imposition on the punk scene.
"When we went to write this album, we had nothing prepared and
I thought we would be stuck for material, but after a few weeks we were
hard-pressed to make a decision on what to include in the album."
The band is made up of guitarists Justin Brannan and Rachel Rosen, bassist
Matty Miller, vocalist Rob Fusco and drummer Colin (the twelfth in a
rotating cast which still draws Spinal Tap comparisons) and formed in
the summer of 2000 after the breakup of notable hardcore band Indecision,
of which Rachel and Justin were members. The relentlessness of their
guitars and the fury of their words have landed Most Precious Blood
on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball as well as on the pages of Alternative Press
and Revolver Magazine and have seen them tour with Bleeding Through,
Rise Against, The Explosion and Remembering Never.

- SEPULTURA Reunion?
SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera has told Scoop of the Columbus, Ohio radio
station The Blitz WBZX 99.7 FM that he is open to the possibility of
one day reuniting with his SEPULTURA bandmates. Cavalera left SEPULTURA
in early 1997 following the other bandmembers' decision to fire the
group's manager, Gloria Cavalera, who is married to Max and continues
to represent him through her Oasis Management company. In an interview
that will air Sunday night (October 2) at 11:00 p.m. during "The
Really Loud Guitar Show" on The Blitz WBZX 99.7 FM, Max said, "[I'm]
looking forward to one day actually, eventually touring together [with
SEPULTURA], or just doing some shows together. I was on tour with [BLACK]
SABBATH [a few] months ago in Europe. They hated each other at one point,
and now they're playing together [again]. And that was, for me, very
cool, very kind of like... Yeah, there is a chance here, it's not all
over. So maybe it [the reunion] will happen. I don't know. I'm not thinking
about that. I've got... SOULFLY's really in full motion right now with
the new record and everything. But eventually if that happens, it will
be cool for me, it will be cool for thousands of fans, so, you know,
let's see what happens, you know what I'm saying?!"

- CANNIBAL CORPSE to start recording new album!
On October 17th, we will be entering Mana studios in St. Petersburg
Florida to begin recording our 10th studio album. Erik Rutan will be
at the helm as producer. The recording and mixing should be complete
by December, and the album's release date will hopefully be sometime
in March of 2006. After the release, we look forward to getting out
on the road and performing for all of our great fans worldwide.
As for the new album, we are doing everything we can to make sure it's
the heaviest, most brutal one we've ever made. We have 11 songs completed
and if possible we'd like to write one or two more before entering the

- SPITFIRE inks new deal with Goodfellow Records
Goodfellow Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Virginia metalcore
quintet SPITFIRE to a new two album deal. The band, who recorded a CDEP
for Goodfellow in 2001, is currently working on a new upcoming full-length
album. It will be their first new release in four years.
"We couldn't be happier to have Spitfire as an addition to our
lovely family of bands," says Goodfellow label owner Chris Logan.
"2006 couldn't come soon enough, so the world can hear the new
chapter in this bands career."
The band is spending the month of September recording at Red Planet
studios in Virginia with producer Andreas Magnusson (Black Dahlia Murder,
Scarlet). The album, tentatively entitled Self-Help, will be released
in early 2006.

Goodfellow Records
One of the most intense, insane and bordering on out of control records
to maybe ever be released. This defines genres and is leaps and bounds
beyond bands like Converge and Dillinger Escape Plan.
SPITFIRE to date:
Virginia's SPITFIRE issued several releases themselves and contributed
to a number of compilation discs before jumping to Solid State Records
(Underoath, Zao, Norma Jean), the aggressive music imprint label of
Tooth and Nail Records (Further Seems Forever, MxPx). The band, then
a trio, released The Dead Next Door, its only full-length for Solid
State, in 1999. Following their stint on the label, Spitfire would regroup
as a quartet, while issuing a CDEP on Goodfellow Records, The Sideshow
Whiplash, in 2001. After months of rumors, the band broke up in late
2001, with several members moving on to other projects.
The band has recently reformed, adding guitarist Scottie Henry from
the metal outfit Norma Jean and Dan Tulloh from the shock rocking Scarlet.
Musically, SPITFIRE plays a hybrid of metal and hardcore that is comparable
to bands such as Every Time I Die, The Melvins, and even Deadguy as
well as the speedy punk rock of Hot Snakes. Fans of frantic, chaotic,
technical metalcore should check out this underrated and under-appreciated
band when their new album, currently entitled Self-Help, is released
in early 2006.

- OPETH ON THE ROAD!
Swedish Rock innovators OPETH have arrived on the world stage in a major
way. Their new album, GHOST REVERIES, sold 15,000 copies in it's first
week, tripling the band's best-ever first week sales to date, and placing
the record at #1 on the Billboard Current Hard Music Chart, #8 on the
Top Hard Music Chart and #64 on the Top 200 Albums Chart for the week.
The video for the first single from the album, "The Grand Conjuration,"
can currently be seen on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and on Fuse.
An album that Kerrang calls "baffling, utterly hypnotic and quite,
quite brilliant" GHOST REVERIES finds itself in strange company,

- THOR STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
After conquering over 40 cities and towns in as many days, Thor The
Mighty Rock Warrior was struck down by an unimaginably powerful bolt
of lightning!
This unthinkable event took place in Portland where he was performing
for dazzled audiences. As he placed the steel bar to his lips in order
to bend it in half with his muscular arms lightning split the sky and
struck him down. He managed to finish the show, but immediately afterwards
was rushed into the care of Venus (nurse to the Gods). Due to these
unforseen circumstances Thor was forced to cancel the remaining dates
on the tour.
He is quite fully recovered now and plans to tour again this winter.

new to get excited about as the newly re-launched Restless Records releases
Numbers From The Beast: An All Star Salute to Iron Maiden, a tribute
to the legendary band. The album, which features Maidens own Paul Di'Anno
and marks Restless' return to its metal and punk roots, is Produced
by Grammy Award winner and tribute album pioneer Bob Kulick (KISS, Metallica,
Aerosmith) along with Brett Chassen and features appearances from current

The cover of every official Iron Maiden album has featured a zombie
called "Eddie." Eddie has been painted by artist Derek Riggs
for 20 years. Numbers From The Beast cover art was naturally painted
by Riggs and is a must-have for any Maiden fan.
Numbers From the Beast marks the first release on the newly revamped
Restless Records. William Hein, current president of Rykodisc and former
head of Enigma Records, co-founded Restless in 1985 as a punk and metal
sub-label of Enigma. Restless became a stand-alone label after Capitol-EMI
acquired Enigma, and was subsequently acquired by Rykodisc in 2003.
Now, back with a new sound and logo, Restless returns to its roots with
the Maiden salute, as well as an upcoming reissue from California punk

- THROWDOWN & SOULFLY TOUR!
Get ready for one of the most brutal tours of the fall! Orange County
Haymakers, Throwdown will embark on a national tour with metal heroes
Soulfly. This is a perfect match as Throwdown, who were proclaimed the
"future of metal" by Revolver were inspired by Soulfly vocalist,
Max Cavalera and his work with legendary metal group, Sepultura (Throwdown
even covered Sepultura's "Roots Bloody Roots" in their live
set). This tour is the latest in a long string of impressive road time
put in by Throwdown, who spent the summer among the featured artists
on The Sounds Of The Underground tour alongside Lamb Of God, Gwar and
Every Time I Die. Tours preceding the summer saw the band as direct
support for Lamb Of God in the US and Europe as well as on the road
with Norma Jean and As I Lay Dying. Throwdown released their latest
full-length, Vendetta in late June which has already scanned an impressive
30,000 + albums. The new album has been heralded by critics and fans
alike for its wrecking ball sized pit anthems and hardcore hostility.
Vocalist, Dave Peters commands with his monster truck sized timber and
venomous verbals. Many have seen Throwdown arrive into heavy music as
the natural link between metal like Pantera and hardcore such as Agnostic
Front.
Unlike those previously mentioned bands, Throwdown are straight edge,
which means that they abstain from drugs and alcohol. The band also
makes time in their daily schedule for exercise, even bringing weights
with them on tour. This healthy lifestyle helps Throwdown to dominate
and destroy any time they take the stage, even during Ozzfest 04, where
the band were required to play as early as 9:00am in 90 degree heat.
The group, which includes Peters, Dom Macaluso (bass), Matt Mentley
(guitar) and new drummer, Ben Dussault (who was the original vocalist
for A Simple Plan) turn shows into a full contact event, replete with
acrobatic spins and mid-air leaps.
Among those who are taking notice is MTV who will have the band as featured
guests on Headbangers Ball for the second time as well as Fuse TV who
will have the band on their Metal Asylum program (Throwdown have previously
been featured on Fuse's, Uranium program) .

- CRISIS SEEKS BASS PLAYER
Crisis regrets to announce the departure of Gia Wang, our bass player
for the last 12 years. Due to family commitments Gia will be unable
to continue to be a part of the Crisis collective. The band wishes Gia
well in all his future endeavors.
Nick Weitzel, a friend of the band, will be filling in on bass guitar
for the Exodus tour. Crisis will hold auditions for a permanent bass
player position starting in November.
We are looking for an aggressive player who can perform with a live
intensity as well as be a creative force in our improvisational style
of songwriting. We prefer a player that uses a pick unless you think
you are the next Cliff Burton. SERIOUS CANDIDATES ONLY!

- THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER TOUR UPDATE
Even though they've only been home for a few short weeks The Black Dahlia
Murder is about to head out for their fall headlining tour with Between
the Buried and Me, Cephalic Carnage and label mates Into The Moat this
Friday. The tour, which kicks off on Sept 23rd in Buffalo, NY, will
be making stops across the US.until Oct 27th. Here's what guitarist
and madman Brian Eschbach has to say about the upcoming dates:
"We are very excited to remind you again about our upcoming tour
with Cephalic Carnage, Between the Buried and Me and Into the Moat.

- STAGGERWIGG’s debut album, “Before We Drown,” will
be released in late October.
The lyrics, written by David Blanche, are an invitation into the mind
of one who has experienced life to the fullest, sometimes too far for
most peoples’ taste. He is not afraid to lay open his passions
and beliefs, as well as his shortcomings, for all to hear.
“As time goes by, I realized what does it for me, why I’m
pursuing this,” said Blanche. “What makes me spend so much
time being isolated and away from my family? Writing just gets me there.
While we were recording, there were some concerns with the lyrics to
‘Questionmark’ and me voicing my thoughts on organized religion
and politics. No matter what I write, people are going to perceive my
words the way they want to. It’s as if they put the words through
a filter inside their head and it comes out adjusted for their own life
and meaning. It’s only my opinion, and in the grand scheme of
things, I’m just not that important.”
As of today, things have never been better. Staggerwigg is evolving
together as a band, writing, and having a blast. They know the music
and the "movement" will last eternal. This is not recycled
punk rock; it is filled with attitude and passion. Sex and drugs and
rock ‘n’ roll!
