of System of a Down contribute new music to soundtrack for Masters of
Horror anthology series
THIRTY (30) CRUSHING ARTISTS - ALL PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONGS FULL
TRACK LIST AVAILABLE
In Flames, Alkaline Trio, Mastodon, Avenged Sevenfold also added to
two-disc set
Music will accompany mini-movies by legendary horror film directors
to air into 2006 on Showtime
On October 18, Immortal Records will release the bruising original soundtrack
to the highly anticipated Masters of Horror series, a 13-episode anthology
directed by today's most renowned horror directors. The specially-priced,
extravagantly packaged, double-disc will be comprised entirely of brand
new and previously unreleased material from 30 of today's top metal,
hardcore, punk and rock acts, including Mudvayne, Buckethead featuring
Serj Tankian of System of a Down, Thursday, Shadows Fall, Mastodon,
In Flames, Alkaline Trio and Avenged Sevenfold. The series will debut
October 28 on Showtime and will run for 13 weeks into 2006. It will
be produced by IDT Entertainment, Industry Entertainment and Nice Guy
Productions. The soundtrack is available for preorder at "http://www.immortalrecords.com/store/store.asp?nProductID=12063"
and will arrive one day before release date.
"From the first time I heard about this series, I was looking forward
to it," says Shadows Fall guitarist Matt Bachand, whose band contributes
the searing "This is my Own" to the soundtrack. "I am
a gorehound at heart," he continues, "and am very excited
about this opportunity to be part of it. Just to be associated with
such legendary directors is truly amazing."
Many of the biggest horror film directors from the past 30 years were
also excited about the anthology. In addition to top American directors
like John Carpenter ("Halloween"), Tope Hooper ("Texas
Chainsaw Massacre"), John Landis ("An American Werewolf in
London"), Mick Garris ("The Stand"), Don Coscarelli (Phantasm,
Bubba Ho-tep). Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator") and William Malone
("FearDotCom"), the series attracted several huge international
directors, including Dario Argento ("Suspiria") and Takashi
Miike ("Audition").
The complete list of artists for the "Masters of Horror" soundtrack
reads like the top tier lineups for Ozzfest, Warped and Sounds of the
Underground: Mudvayne, Shadows Fall, Thursday, Serj Tankian with Buckethead,
Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames, The Bled, Mastodon, Every Time I Die,
Bloodsimple, Death by Stereo, From Autumn to Ashes, Matchbook Romance,
Andrew W.K., Alkaline Trio, Norma Jean, It Dies Today, Fear Beyond the
March of Flames, Armor For Sleep, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Funeral For
a Friend, Murder By Death, Fall River, Rise Against, The Bronx!, Yesterday's
Rising, Gratitude, Bear Vs. Shark, A Change of Pace, Bedlight for Blue
Eyes. The all-star lineup boasts aggregate sales of well over 15 million
albums.
"Masters of Horror" marks the first time major directors of
extreme cinema have been matched up with artists of extreme music, and
the results are both chilling and breathtaking. "Horror is to cinema
what rock n' roll is to music: rebellious, transgressive, loud and abrasive,"
says series Executive Producer Garris of the important roll music plays
in the Masters of Horror series. "And the sound of horror is every
bit as important as the vision. Horror can be quiet and sneak up on
you, and just give you a chill. Or it can grab you by the throat and
rip out your trachea."
Indeed, the link between horror films and the music created by artists
on the "Masters of Horror" soundtrack is inextricable. And
while many scary movies have incorporated rock songs in their soundtracks,
most of those albums sound like radio rock compilations. "Masters
of Horror" is more like the score to a pounding, atmospheric nightmare.
"The aesthetic of horror movies both classic and contemporary serve
as wells of inspiration for Alkaline Trio," says frontman Matt
Skiba, whose band provides the spiteful, tuneful "We Can Never
Break Up" to the soundtrack. "The subject matter often finds
it's way into our lyrics, and we quite enjoy watching horror films on
tour."
"I'm a big horror fan, mostly of George Romero and Dario Argento,"
adds Thursday singer Geoff Rickly," whose group created a haunting
acoustic version of "Division St." "I've Loved horror
ever since I was a little kid and now as a grown-up, I can appreciate
the social and political allegories the stories tell."
Masters of Horror grew out of an informal bi-monthly dinner attended
by many of the horror genre's most highly regarded directors. Garris
transformed their collective desire to work together into reality, and
will serve as the showrunner for the series. The series was developed
by Garris along with executive producers Andrew Deane and Keith Addis,
and is an IDT Entertainment production.

- Sweden's LION'S SHARE Announce New Singer - Sep. 19, 2005
Swedish melodic heavy metal masters LION'S SHARE have announced the
addition of singer Patrik Johansson (ASTRAL DOORS) to the group's ranks.
Johansson and the rest of the current LION'S SHARE lineup — which
includes mainman Lars Chriss (guitar), and recent addition Sampo Axelsson
(bass; ex-GLENN HUGHES, CRAWLEY) — are currently writing material
for a fifth album to be released sometime during 2006. The songs written
so far are being described as "heavier and more straight-ahead
with tons of energy and attitude."
In a statement confirming his addition to the LION'S SHARE lineup, Johansson
writes, "Lars Chriss called me up about two years ago and asked
if I was interested in joining LION'S SHARE. I felt honored, of course,
and didn't need any second thoughts; LION'S SHARE is, for me, one of
the institutions in the metal business. From that moment, me, Lars and
now also Sampo, have been working with the songwriting for the next
album. Now, finally, we have started the demo recordings and the result
so far is goddamn amazing!
"Some of you may know that I've done a couple of things the last
two or three years: SPACE ODYSSEY, WUTHERING HEIGHTS and ASTRAL DOORS.
"I want to make one thing perfectly clear: SPACE ODYSSEY and WUTHERING
HEIGHTS are like session jobs to me. My two main bands are ASTRAL DOORS
and LION'S SHARE. Make no mistake about that!
"I hope, and truly believe, that this new mark in the great career
of LION'S SHARE will appeal to the old fans and bring a lot of new ones
as well. See you on the road!"

- YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S CONCERTO SUITE FOR ELECTRIC GUITAR AND ORCHESTRA
SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE ON DVD
ON NOVEMBER 1, 2005, THROUGH EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT
GUITAR HERO FILMED LIV E IN 2001 WITH
THE NEW JAPAN PHILHARMONIC
CONCERTO SUITE CONCEIVED AND COMPOSED AS A CLASSICAL WORK
Yngwie Malmsteen's Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra
receives its long-awaited North American release on DVD on November
1, 2005, via Eagle Rock Entertainment.
The DVD was filmed in 2001 with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted
by Taizo Takemoto. It was initially released overseas only, and North
American fans have eagerly awaited its arrival here. Malmsteen has only
performed his concerto suite live with an orchestra seven times. An
interview with Malmsteen is included as a special bonus feature.
The 18 tracks on Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra are:
"Black Star Overture," "Trilogy Suite Op. 5," "Brothers,"
"Icarus Dream Fanfare," "Cavallino Rampante," "Fugue,"
"Prelude To April," "Toccata," "Andante,"
"Sarabande," "Allegro," "Adagio," "Vivace,"
"Presto Vivace," "Finale," "Blitzkrieg,"
"Far Beyond The Sun" and "Evil Eye."
Malmsteen also touches upon his previous Rising Force work on the DVD,
particularly at the beginning and during the encores.
Malmsteen, a guitar genius, has been a major force in music for more
than two decades, and he regards this concerto suite as his greatest
creative achievement thus far. A native of Sweden, he composed this
concerto specifically for an orchestra with the electric guitar as the
lead instrument. Therefore, it is a true work of classical music.
"This was a huge, huge undertaking. I composed this concerto from
the ground up. It took about two years total to compose, but there were
interruptions when I was touring and making rock albums," Malmsteen
says. "The guidelines it was composed within were very orthodox.
I drew heavily from my classical influences such as Johann Sebastian
Bach, his son Carl Philip Emanuel Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig
van Beethoven, Antonio Vivaldi, Nicolo Paganini, George Handel and Peter
Tchaikovsky.
"The classical world is a completely different planet from the
rock world. But I was welcomed with open arms by the orchestra musicians.
I walked into their world, they didn't walk into mine. Once I worked
with them they were very impressed and I gained their acceptance."
Malmsteen believes he was embraced by the classical world in part because
his new material was a breath of fresh air.
"The classical realm is dying because nobody cares about new classical
composers. My concerto suite was an injection of something new,"
Malmsteen says.
Malmsteen started writing the concerto suite in the late 1990s and he
first went to Prague, Czech Republic, to record the Czech Philharmonic
performing it. He added his electric guitar parts later at his own home
studio. Spitfire Records, a division of Eagle Rock Entertainment, released
this CD recording, 'Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra
In E Flat Minor Op. 1,' in 2000. As proud as he is of that recording,
he says this live DVD has an added surge of energy and is "more
dangerous."
"I'm completely stunned that the DVD came out as great as it did.
There was some greater power watching over us. It was a huge challenge,"
says Malmsteen. "We only had about a half day's rehearsal and were
supposed to film for two nights but only did one night. I also did all
my playing by memory without the score in front of me. Maybe the crazy
circumstances made it better."

- EPIC/INTERSCOPE TO RELEASE AUDIOSLAVE'S
LIVE IN CUBA
HISTORIC CONCERT PERFORMANCE CAPTURED ON
SPECIAL DOUBLE-DISC SET FEATURING DVD AND BONUS CD
SET FEATURES FIRST-EVER AUDIOSLAVE RECORDINGS OF SOUNDGARDEN AND
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE TRACKS
IN STORES OCTOBER 11
This past May, Audioslave made international headlines by becoming the
first American rock band to ever perform in U.S.-embargoed Cuba. More
than 60,000 screaming fans stormed Havana's Anti-Imperialist Plaza to
catch the May 6th show and the band didn't disappoint. The multi-Platinum,
critically acclaimed band gave an absolutely electrifying performance,
tearing through a free two-and-a-half hour show. The historic event
is captured on the Epic/Interscope release LIVE IN CUBA, a deluxe 18-song
double-disc package that includes a DVD featuring a 30-minute documentary,
live concert footage and an additional TV special on the event, along
with a bonus live CD taken from Audioslave's recent AOL Sessions performance.
The set arrives in stores on October 11th.
Audioslave (driven by Chris Cornell's stirring vocals, Tom Morello's
innovative guitar and the razor-sharp rhythm section of bassist Tim
Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk) treated the packed-house crowd to
a mix filled with hits from their multi-platinum-selling 2003 debut
("Cochise," "Like A Stone"), tracks from new album
Out of Exile-which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart--("Your
Time Has Come," "Doesn't Remind Me"), and a few jaw-dropping
surprises (Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun," "Outshined,"
and "Spoonman," along with Rage Against the Machine's "Bulls
On Parade"). It's worth noting that LIVE IN CUBA is the first and
only recording to feature ex-Soundgarden vocalist Cornell and ex-Rage
members Morello, Commerford and Wilk performing songs from their former
bands.
The event was organized by the U.S. Treasury Department and the Instituto
Cubano de la Musica and took place, ironically enough, in a plaza built
five years ago as a place for mass protest against the US government.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Morello recalled the monumental
show. "We had no idea if it was going to be 70 people or 70,000,"
he said. "It turns out it was the latter-many of whom were clearly
fans of the band. A lot of them were singing along, some were making
a mosh pit, some were salsa-ing, some were pogo-ing. A lot of them just
couldn't believe it was really happening."
LIVE IN CUBA will also be available in a single-DVD version that includes
the documentary and 14 live tracks.
The full track listing for the deluxe edition is as follows:
1. Set It Off
2. Your Time Has Come

- Finland's purveyors of the most original and innovative form of extreme
music, FINNTROLL, are preparing to bring their unique humppa metal to
North America's northeastern coast. FINNTROLL blend pagan black metal
with traditional Finnish humppa, or polka,to create a "mug-hoisting
choruses for drunken golem-chasers (The Glass Eye). Anticipating the
band's American invasion, guitarist Routa sent out the following message,
"Hailz Metalheads, in January the notorious trollhorde FINNTROLL
will finally land their dirty feet on the shores of the new continent.
We're invading 6 venues in 6 days with our headcount of 6, so all the
signs are more than good! We've joined our forces with those of SODOM,
old-timers of the metal scene, and one thing is certain, they're gonna
kick ass on stage. Too bad we can't tour across the continent, but there
will be another time, and then we'll come all the way out west...or
at least we'll hope so. Just keep bothering your local promoters and
tell them to book us there. For all those who'll show up for upcoming
shows...Rot'n'Troll.
Hope to see you all in January 06."

- DARK DISCIPLE - The LATEST NEWS ON THE FRONT LINES:
It's Official everyone, the well-known Baltimore Maryland based hate
troop known as Dark Disciple has left Morbid Records. Do to contract
failures, unanswered questions and strong concerns, Dark Disciple has
terminated their business tie's with Morbid Records.
Dark Disciple hopes thing will get better for Morbid Records and wishes
the best for the artist that are still under contract with them.
Now onto bigger and better news:
Dark Disciple is happy to announce they are ready to release their follow
up to Unholy Hate Gore entitled KILL EVERYTHING - WORSHIP NOTHING all
the master discs are done for this new release. Artwork was again done
by no other than Metal Mike who brought you "UHG" cover work
and Morticians Reanimated cover work.
Kill Everything - Worship Nothing:
This album has a running time of 38:47 minutes and has a few surprises
up it's sleeve. One that can be let out of the bag is the cover of Cannibal
Corpse's Skull Full of Maggots. This shit will make Cannibal Corpse
fans wet their pants like it was their first time. As far as the other
surprises go, well lets just say this stuff is going to blow your tops
off. Kill Everything will deliver 13 tracs of fast flying, hell driven,
Priest choking, hammer smash face brutality. This stuff is raw, powerful
and composed of the most destructive riffs going today. Nothing over
produce or too polished on this album. No fillers, no mechanical sounding
drums, no screeching vultures trying to sing, no over abused keyboards
or any keyboards for that matter, no having a special guest female singers.
This album sounds like real Goddamn kick ass music for Christ sake,
one that all metal fans can relate to, old or new, male or female. It
doesn't show bias to anyone.
Dark Disciple wants and owns the title of being the Worlds Most Dangerous
Group. If you've had the pleasure of checking them out at a show this
year at one of the metal fest's, than you'll know what I mean. They
are truly a bulldozer driven by the hands of Satan himself with only
one purpose. Destruction and they don't care who's in their path.
In Closing:
What Dark Disciple needs now is a new label who is ready to take on
this challenge and bring fourth this masterpiece of brutality that will
leave the critics talking for years to come. Any label that is interested
in getting a copy of this album in it's entirety please contact me at
this e-mail address or by one of the address below and a copy will be
sent off to you immediately.
Thank you for your time and attention: The world has been waiting for
a brand of music like this, don't you think the wait should be over
for them! Metal

- THE HAUNTED Prepare For The Fury of The Fall Tour; Post Ozzfest Report
Ozzfest 2005 has now come to a close but THE HAUNTED's U.S. and Canadian
touring insanity continues early next month on The Fury of The Fall
tour this October alongside Meshuggah, God Forbid and Mnemic, which
leads them directly into a massive European trek with labelmates God
Forbid. The group have been annihilating the unsuspecting masses all
summer long on Ozzfest while garnering a whole new legion of fans with
their pummeling Swedish thrash metal assault and highly energetic live
show. Their new video for "No Compromise," taken from their
latest critically acclaimed offering rEVOLVEr, was shot by acclaimed
director Roger Johansson (In Flames, Soilwork). Look for it now on Headbangers
Ball and Metal Asylum.
Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following post Ozzfest report:
"Nine weeks passed and it's been so intense that we can barely
make out what really happened. Ozzfest 2005 was a journey through good
old rock 'n' roll chaos. Drugs, sex, violence, nudity, slander, backstabbing
and handshaking all backed up by a soundtrack of great metal. Sweet.
I have these incidents that keep coming back to me: Bury Your Dead stealing
golf cars; watching certain people running from the law trippin' on
acid; me playing with THE HAUNTED in front of 8,000 people - naked;
The Sharon vs. Dickinson thing; Brian of Black Dahlia Murder getting
busted by the cops for getting naked while doing a publicity thing for
FUSE TV; Jada Pinkett Smith with the house full of Body Count and Fishbone-legendaries
throwing barbecues; As I lay Dying - who wouldn't let us say FUCK on
their bus - well, FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! Now there I said it.
"All in all, it's been a great fucking tour, and we've made some
good friends along the way. I want to thank all those fans who have
shown up at the shows and all those of you out there who have picked
up our latest album, rEVOLVEr, during the last couple of months; it
seems you're all giving this album a well deserved second running, fuckin'
sweet! Spread the word and we feel honoured to have been able to play
in front of so many people this summer. Seeing your faces in the crowd
singing along and just tearing shit up warms our ugly insides. Well,
we will be back in the U.S. in October together with our brothers Meshuggah
and God Forbid, and we hope to see you all then. For now, it's time
to go home for a couple of weeks to reload and cock up again. See you
all real soon."

- LACUNA COIL Enter The Studio; Choose New Album Title
LACUNA COIL - the Italian hard rock sensation, whose standout Active
Rock singles for "Heaven's A Lie" and "Swamped,"
led Billboard to name them one of last year's biggest success stories
- entered the studio on September 3rd to begin tracking Karmacode, the
highly anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed commercial
breakthrough album, Comalies. The new effort is currently being co-produced
once again with Waldemar Sorychta and LACUNA COIL and will be mixed
by the acclaimed Ronald Prent (Rammstein, H.I.M., Iron Maiden) and mastered
by Darcy Proper (Steely Dan, Porcupine Tree, R.E.M.) at Galaxy Studios
in Belgium. An early 2006 release is expected.
Andrea Ferro (vocals) describes the meaning behind the album's unique
title: "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted
to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another
that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual
translation of Karmacode it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and
the message behind it.' The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming,
self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live
a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."
With three full-length albums and two EPs to their credit, LACUNA COIL
has ensured that each offering further enunciates the subtle, solemn
beauty the sextet creates. Comalies maturely exhibits the trademarked
gothic overtones and poignant melancholy of their haunting musical landscape.
In early 2004, Lacuna Coil's successes were validated with an invitation
to participate in that year's Ozzfest, supporting such metal stalwarts
as Judas Priest, Slayer and Ozzy himself. Additional summer touring
with P.O.D. and Ozzfest off-date performances with Superjoint Ritual
and Devildriver gave the band its busiest season yet. Led by the undeniably
captivating Cristina Scabbia (vocals), the group garnered mainstream
acclaim from such publications as Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone
and Stuff, among others.
The group spent this summer performing at some of Europe's premier festivals
alongside such household names as Green Day, Incubus and System of A
Down, while completing the songwriting process for the new album. Karmacode
is shaping up to be the band's career defining release and it will force
the entire hard rock world to take notice.

- BLAZE Confirm New Lineup, Negotiate New Record Deal
BLAZE manager Neil Marklew has confirmed the group's new lineup and
recording plans via a posting on the band's official web site. His message
reads as follows:
"It gives me great pleasure to make the following announcement
as I believe it has been long overdue. As you may be aware, we have
not had a 'permanent' band line-up for some time now but I believe we
have always had good quality musicians in the line-ups at past BLAZE
shows and would like to thank Phil Greenhouse, Wayne Banks, Jason Bowld,
Dave Knight, Nick Douglas, Dani Loeble and the original four members
for all their hard work during their time in the band.
"Since the departure of the last two original members (Steve Wray
and John Slater) in September 2004, we always knew that 2005 was going
to be the year to start to put things 'back on track,' and, we wanted
to put together a 'band' again… Now, I believe we have, although,
due to the commitments that each of 'the new guys' have, we can not
be certain that we will not have to use 'stand-ins' again as they are
all in demand. However, every effort will be made to ensure that this
is not the case, but you can be sure that in the event we do a good
quality stand-in will be used. So, without further delay, please welcome
Oli Palotai (guitars), Luca Princiotta (guitars), Christian Ammann (bass)
and Daniel Schild (drums).
"Oli joined us in April 2004 as 'stand-in' for John Slater originally
and was always going to be our first choice to replace John when he
decided to leave. He is an all-around great musician and he brings grit
and a determination to succeed to the band.
"Luca is the baby in the band at only 23 years of age and was bought
in as a replacement for Steve Wray. He is a great guitarist with huge
potential and is keen and eager to get on with the job in hand.
"Christian and Dani joined us earlier this year and performed their
first show with BLAZE in Slovenia at the Born to be Wild Festival in
April. Both are gifted musicians and have worked extremely hard since
then and are keen to show BLAZE fans around the world what they are
capable of.
"Looking to the future, I can confirm that I am in negotiations
with several record companies and hope to make an announcement about
this later this year. In the meantime, I can confirm that the band are
finalising the writing of the NEW album (which is planned for an April/May
release next year) and will be doing some dates in December (details
to follow shortly) in addition to working on the DVD which is planned
for release in August/September next year.
"Thank you for your continuing support. The future's bright, the
future's BLAZE!"
BLAZE are continuing to tour in support of their third album, "Blood
& Belief", which was released in Europe in April 2004. The
follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage
Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap.

Implemented To Help Achieve Sales Goals
Just two weeks after the release of “Transgression”, Fear
Factory and Calvin Records say that they are right on track for achieving
long-term sales goals. First week results found the album ranked #3
on active rock’s “most added” list, 36 on iTunes’
download list, and 45th overall on the Billboard charts.
“We are exactly where we planned to be at this point in the campaign,”
said Catain. “We came out of the box strong and we plan on continuing
this success with a strategic sales and marketing program that will
achieve our long-term goals. Too many artists come out blazing their
first week then flounder in the subsequent weeks; our objective from
the get-go with this album was to build momentum throughout the entire
campaign.”
One of the ways that they plan to achieve this is through several comprehensive
programs like their value-added retail campaign that offers each market-
segment tools to keep sales moving throughout the coming weeks. Mass
merchants were offered special pricing for their consumers and the “big
box” stores received exclusive content like unreleased songs and
competitive pricing for their shoppers. The chain stores were given
value added items like signed booklets and posters while the independents
were offered a bonus CD and Fear Factory apparel.
Calvin Records also turned to several online initiatives like offering
consumers who purchased the CD version of “Transgression”
exclusive video and audio content via a secret website only accessible
by inserting the CD into a computer connected to the Internet to enhance
product sales.
“Transgression”, which many critics are saying is the band’s
best album to date, was released August 23rd through Calvin Records,
an imprint of Liquid 8 which was designed just for the band and other
up-coming metal acts. The record includes 11 songs, all produced by
Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Korn, Metallica).
The Transgression track listing includes:
1. 540,000 Degrees Fahrenheit
2. Transgression
3. Spinal Compression
4. Contagion
5. Empty Vision
6. Echo Of My Scream
7. Supernova
8. New Promise
9. I Will Follow
10. Millennium

- DANZIG have announced the addition of guitarist Joe Fraulob (DECONSTRUCT)
to the group's ranks. "After his audition, Jerry [Montano, bass],
Johnny Kelly, drums; TYPE O NEGATIVE] and Danzig all agreed Joe was
the man for the job, hands down. The fans are gonna be blown away by
this incredible talent."
On a sadder note, DANZIG have announced that due to the disaster inflicted
on the Gulf Coast by Hurricane Katrina, their New Orleans live date
has been cancelled as the city slowly tries to recover from all the
damage. "We hope all our friends there are safe and wish the city
and its people a speedy recovery," the band write on their web
site.
The 2005 "Blackest of the Black" tour, featuring headliners
DANZIG alongside CHIMAIRA, BEHEMOTH, HIMSA, MORTIIS and THE AGONY SCENE,
will kick off on September 30 in San Diego, California. DANZIG's performance
on all dates of the "Blackest of the Black" tour will feature
former MISFITS' guitarist Doyle Von Frankenstein for a special 30-minute
set of MISFITS classics. Doyle joined DANZIG on a handful of tour dates
last winter (New York, Philadelphia, Boston) for "the closest thing
to a MISFITS reunion you're going to see."
The "Blackest of the Black" festival was organized by Danzig
and debuted in the summer of 2003 with DANZIG, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, OPETH,
NILE, LACUNA COIL and BEHEMOTH on the bill. More information is available

- FEAR FACTORY Announces Nation-Wide Tour with Special Guests
Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Darkane
There is no rest for the weary for self-proclaimed workaholics Fear
Factory. Recently completing this summer’s Gigantour and releasing
their new album “Transgression” (Calvin Records, August
23rd), the band has revealed plans for a fall tour that will take them
from Kansas to California on a 29- date routing.
Featuring special guests Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Darkane,
the tour is already being hailed as one of the strongest lineups to
hit the stage this year.
“We’re really excited about performing with all of these
bands. We’re big fans of theirs and it’s great to able to
go out with artists that you respect musically and artistically,”
said Raymond Herrera, Fear Factory drummer.
Fear Factory, who is riding high off the initial success of “Transgression”
which sold more than 11,000 copies in one day, has been working tirelessly
to promote the new release. And, as Calvin Records President Mike Catain
says, this die-hard work ethic is what separates them from the rest.

never met a harder-working band,” said Catain. “They are
always ready to give 100 percent, whether it’s recording, performing
or doing publicity they always give it their all. It is a pleasure to
have them as part of the Calvin family.”
The tour starts October 28th and runs until December 1st. Come out and

- There's been some confusion regarding the news of SUBSONIC's nominations
for this years Grammy Awards. I've researched the matter further and
here's the deal. Simply stated, the project has received preliminary
nominations. This means that a voting member of the Grammy's has submitted
our project for consideration in three catagories, which are listed
below. The vote which decides official Grammy nominations will be held
in October.
Because Subsonic remains a rather unknown commercial commodity, such
industry recognition at any level is quite an honor. No Such Soul and
both videos relative to it are products of many talented peoples' efforts
which were often donated or nearly so. To have these works merely mentioned
in the same sentence with the Grammys is a milestone in our eyes.

I'm pleased to announce that an endorsement deal has been confirmed

cool and the agreement was reached. My sincere thanks to everyone at

- The deathship anchored - 29th August is the release date of "Carpathia",
the new album of THE VISION BLEAK.
THE VISION BLEAK have never been of the modest kind. They just have
to go for the grand and sweeping gestures. Thus, it comes as no surprise
that the band claims that their new album "Carpathia" has
succeeded in being more in every regard - even before they have presented
their new work.
Indeed: If you compare it to "The Deathship Has A New Captain",
that skeletal schooner with which Allen B. Konstanz and Ulf Theodor
Schwadorf took to sea merely two years ago, this second outing is not
just a fall of masks bringing their grim grimaces to light, but also
a manifestation of an even wilder passion. While the debut album's tracks
were haunted mainly by movie characters, now THE VISION BLEAK turn more
towards weird fiction - their own! The remarkable thing is that the
plot at the base of "Carpathia" works even without the music.
And its power is not limited to the many shadowy figures and the ephemeral,
dark scenarios, but is also effective in the horror reaching towards
an inevitable climax - also in the music itself.
"This is the fateful story of a businessman becoming heir to the
old estates of his family in far and strange Carpathia," Schwadorf
outlines the concept. We, the listeners, accompany the young man on
this journey through creepy mountain passes, sit beside him in his cab,
sense the slow assembly of evil, share his shivers as he encounters
the rustic villagers of Carpathia, travel further into the exotic and
fearfully outlandish world of "Arabian Nights", and at the
end we know: the protagonist is cursed, probably even possessed. So
you can see already that "Carpathia" is an incomparable and
sinister musical drama. Not without good reason have Konstanz and Schwadorf
brought up the whole musical spectrum of their artistic careers so far.
Forceful, black riffs, heavyweight drums, full and many-facetted vocals. Each
track is vibrantly brimming with sheer intensity and energy.
"Carpathia" will be released as normal jewel case edition
for a special price and as luxuary edition in digipak with bonus CD.
The bonus CD includes a Multimedia part with the "Wolfmoon"
Videoclip, diverse Audio and Video Livetracks. www.prophecy.cd
- ABORTED Prepare For Full North American Tour, Headbangers Ball Video
Debut
Belgium’s Aborted are preparing for their first full North American
invasion. Their formidable new album, The Archaic Abattoir, “an
epic in its own right” (Outburn) won the band considerable praise.
Founder and vocalist Sven De Caluwe commented on the upcoming tour and
line-up changes: “Things are really starting to move fast for
us, and we're fully preparing ourselves for the upcoming U.S. tour with
Cryptopsy, Suffocation and Despised Icon. Needless to say, we're all
extremely psyched about this tour and can't wait to spread our own little
brand of death-fucking-metal to all our fans. To the people who have
been waiting to see us over there; the wait is over, and we'll make
sure none of you will have any regrets. Some news on the band, we're
also very happy with the way the new line-up is working out. Guitarist
Stephane Souteyrand has been in the band since June and has been more
than great. He's not only a great musician but also a very cool guy
to work with, and we can't wait to start writing the next album with
him by our side. See you guys in a month!”
The video for “Dead Wreckoning” will premier on MTV2’s
Headbangers Ball Saturday night September 3rd. Produced by Darren Doane
(Shadows Fall, Nile) and filmed in Downtown L.A. “in the basement
of an old meat factory, De Caluwe said, “Scary fact is that there
was blood everywhere, fresh blood, which neither Darren nor the band
put there. Weird part is the factory has been out of business for quite
some time…”
Look for Aborted on tour next month, for more information please contact
me directly.

- Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of CELLADOR!
CELLADOR is a melodic speed/power metal band from Omaha, NE. Originally
formed in Summer 2004 by guitarist Chris Petersen, CELLADOR was founded
with the purpose of introducing aggressive European influenced melodic
speed/power metal to the Midwest USA, where the style is completely
nonexistent and virtually unknown. CELLADOR spent the fall and winter
months of 2004 writing and rehearsing, and began playing live by March
2005. In May, CELLADOR came out with the demo, Leaving All Behind, which
The Black Dahlia Murder guys passed on to Brain Slagel, after the band
opened for them in Omaha. Impressed by their skill and musicianship,
Brian Slagel offered the band a contract making them one of Metal Blade
Records latest singings.
"I am truly excited about our latest signing, CELLADOR. They are
a young band with incredible musicianship and songs. We have been looking
just for this type of band who mix the old school metal with a fresh
attitude." Brian Slagel Owner/CEO Metal Blade Records Inc.
"We are very proud and excited to be welcomed to the METAL BLADE
family. With its current roster and unprecedented history of dedication
and integrity, it is with great honor and gratitude that we have been
chosen and given the opportunity to represent true American melodic
speed metal on one of the biggest labels in the world of metal. Their
past success and dedication is only a greater source of inspiration
now for us to press forth with pushing true metal to its extreme. Look
out for us!!" Chris Petersen- Guitarist CELLADOR
Cellador is currently writing and rehearsing, and plan on recording
this December with their debut Metal Blade release to be out sometime
in the spring of 2006. To check out some of the bands triumphant songs
head over to their MySpace page HERE.
In other news CELLADOR is currently auditioning for the position of
lead guitar and keyboard player. The individual must excel in playing
both lead and rhythm at slow to often very energetic speeds, and must
also have and maintain a committed, motivated, and cooperative personality
that benefits the band as a whole. The band would prefer a young and
energetic individual between the ages of 18-24 who is able and willing
to travel, and with a large background in metal. If interested, send
an email with your name and past band experience to contact@cellador.com
for more information.

death brutallers Ulcerate. The debut CD, still untitled, from this amazing
and shredding band will be probably hitting yer stereos in spring 2006.
Expect brutality, expect sickness, expect total dark and mayhemic technical
death metal in a sort of idealogical mix between Immolation and Deeds
Of Flesh.

- MINSK crushes… At A Loss debut CD & appearance at Electric
City Rock fest
The anxiously awaited debut of the act rising from the ashes of Buried
At Sea, Chicago's Minsk are about to bubble over into the heavy music
community like a volcano of sonic bliss. Minsk surge with a punishing
and unique brand of post-doom agression coupled with searing sub-melodies
and an organic overall tone as if the band poured forth from the center
of the planet...
As the band prepares for their debut "Out Of A Center Which Is
Neither Dead Nor Alive" to launch via At A Loss Records on September
25th, they join High on Fire, Fu Manchu, Yakuza and more as part of
Chicago's Electric City Rock Fest in early September with extensive
touring to follow.
The band is available for interviews, so drop a line to Earsplit for
availability and check out these sites for more info or press needs:

"Minsk rage like an unrepentent Neurosis one minute and dial back
the fury to a simmering psychedelic raga the next. Total doom with a
soft underbelly, Out of a Center's six songs clock in at exactly an
hour, and the mood is oppressively heavy throughout." 3.5/4 –
REVOLVER
"While not destroying with heavier than heavy riffs, they create
ambient soundscapes with an indistinguishable array of pedals and electronic
devices that would impress even the Nasa scientist of the late sixties."
- DOOMED NATION
"Out of a Center Which Is Neither Dead Nor Alive is so good, it’s
almost spiritual. The distorted riffs, tribal drumming, and electronic
touches, combined with the distinct roars of Minsk’s multiple
vocalists, make this a must have for 2005 and beyond. You bet your ass
this is recommended." - STONERROCK.COM
Drawing its nominal inspiration from a remote Belarussian city nestled
deep amidst the in-betweens of the East and the West, a city that has
been burned to the ground on several occasions only to be rebuilt like
a Phoenix rising from its ashes, Minsk is a sort of dark cerebral experimentation...an
emotive conceptualization that sears the visceral and hopes for something
real...something between the conscious and the unconscious... a roller
coaster of passion, noise, rhythm, and trance.
Drawing its brand of eclecticism from a milieu of broadly spaced musical
and conceptual influences, Minsk is a bodily experience that hints at
a sort of mystical awareness and sophistication. The music is as organic
as it is other-worldly, infusing the rhythms of the earth and the resonance
of the human voice with the synthetic sounds of machines, amplifiers,
and effects.
Minsk combines a sonic onslaught of dirge-like walls of doom and metal
with Hawkwind and Jethro Tull inspired 1970's psychedelic rock and tribal
elements reminiscent of Dead Can Dance. The vocals range from soulful
singing, to three and four part anthemic arrangements, to barbaric screams,
and the result is a dynamic and emotional piece of sensory overload
that has been compared to Neurosis, Mastodon, Cult of Luna, Entombed,
and Acid Bath.
The group formed in the summer of 2002, performing its first show in
early 2003 and completing its demo CD, Burning, in the fall of that
year. Still in the infant stages of their efforts, they embarked on
a tour in support of the CD, which took them from Illinois to the West
Coast and back. 2004 and 2005 have begun the realization of the band's
labors, allowing them to share the stage with many incredible bands
at the Templars of Doom, South by Southwest, and Emissions from the
Monolith Festivals. Recording with producer Sanford Parker (Pelican,
Unearthly Trance, Lair of the Minotaur, Venomous Concept) at Volume
Studios has yielded both their AT A LOSS debut full-length album and
a new bass player in Parker himself, also noted for his play in the
"megalithic doom outfit", Buried at Sea.

- BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION ON U.S. TOUR
HEADING OUT ON THE ‘MOTOR-HOMEY’ TOUR
WITH NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST ADEMA
HOLLYWOOD (August 30, 05) – BOD will be on tour supporting their
new album RUNAWAY BRIDES releasing September 27th on Shrapnel Records.
Their first single White Trash is soon to hit the airwaves. "White
Trash" is exactly what it sounds like. “The pot calls the
kettle black ..money can’t buy class ...but in LA it’s all
for free all you need is a casting couch, a bloody scalpel and a sugar
daddy,” recites LeGrande. It pays homage to all the trailer-park-style
culture and the people that try to leave them. From there the Brides
will discharge a slew of slamming songs on the audience like “Criminal”,
“Deadman’s Ruin” and “Lords of the Mind.”
“This is the record we always wanted to make,” states Tracii
Guns. “It has a great blend of modern rock heaviness with retro
sounds and styles. It is the perfect ‘Brides’ record of
today.”
ADEMA will be coming off their own headlining tour to join the Brides
on a tour of debauchery in support of their latest album release PLANETS.
Standout tracks include: the first single, "Tornado"; title
track, "Planets"; a ballad, "Rise Above"; rocker
"Bad Triangle", featuring a guest vocal appearance by Jujitsu
master Ralek Gracie, aka Rio Life, a member of the world-renowned Gracie
Family (and friend of Adema drummer Kris Kohls, himself an avid Jujitsu
trainer); and fierce closer, "Vikraphone". Yet, the truth
is, all the tracks on "Planets" (count them, 16!... plus one
extra surprise!) are expertly-crafted, hook- laden songs; there is not
a miss among them.

- GAMMA RAY to unleash latest endeavor, Majestic,
October 11, 2005 through Sanctuary Records
Gamma Ray is set to release their latest effort Majestic on October
11, 2005 through Sanctuary Records. The line-up for Majestic includes
Kai Hansen (guitar, bass), Dirk Schlächter (bass), Henjo Richter
(guitar, keyboards) and Daniel Zimmerman (drums), who have been together
for the last several releases after a number of line-up changes in the
early stages of the band’s career. Majestic will be the band’s
first release since 2003’s Skeletons in the Closet.
As with previous Gamma Ray releases, Hansen serves as the lead composer,
but for this effort both Richter and Zimmerman also contributed tracks,
lending a dash of diversity to the signature Gamma Ray sound. The band
recorded the album at their own Hansen Studios in Hamburg, with Hansen
and Schlächter on the controls. They brought Mika Jussila (Stratovarius,
Masterplan, Edguy, among others) aboard to master the album and create
a dynamic, well-rounded sound for the finished product.
Majestic Track Listing:
1) My Temple
2) Fight
3) Strange World
4) Hell Is Thy Home
5) Blood Religion
6) Condemned to Hell
7) Spiritual Dictator
8) Majesty
9) How Long
10) Revelation
The band is working on plans for a 2006 North American tour.
