- SAXON: Australian Tour Postponed -
British heavy metal veterans SAXON have postponed their previously announced
Australian tour — which was scheduled to kick off on October 24
in Sydney — to April 2008.
According to a press release issued by KMW Productions, SAXON's "passports
were not returned by the Japanese embassy in time for Australian visas
to be issued."
Ticket holders for the shows in Sydney and Melbourne on October 24 and
October 25 should retain their tickets as they will remain valid for
the rescheduled dates, to be announced shortly.
SAXON Manager Apologizes To Australian, Russian Fans
SAXON manager Thomas Jensen has issued the following statement regarding
the postponement of the band's Russian and Australian tour dates:
"Again due to visa problems we have to announce that SAXON can't
make it to Moscow. The promoter in Russia and our tour manager tried
their best, but the post strike and delays at the Japanese embassy worked
against us. The new Moscow show will be happen on 30th November 2007.
We will also postpone our first Australian appearance to April 2008.
This was also too optimistic. New dates will be announced soon. The
band started to write new songs and everybody is excited about the upcomming
single release and the release of the new DVD. Again, sorry to our Russian
and Australian fans, we won't let you wait for wait for long."

- RAGE - rage vs. stefan raab
Fans of the German Metal-institution RAGE should definitely turn on
their TV set on Saturday, October 20th: At Stefan Raab`s "Stock
Car Crash Challenge 2007" at 20.15 on PRO 7 RAGE will perform as
a backing band for the "Dicks On Fire". By the way - the "Dicks
On Fire" consist of Stefan Raab, Rick Kavanian and Max Mutzke.
And with those guys RAGE will share the stage of the Schalke Arena!
So don`t miss one of the few occasions to see and hear hard sounds on
PRO 7! The new RAGE - album "Carved In Stone" will be released
early 2008.
- BENEDICTION entering studio soon!
Long-running British Death Metal legends BENEDICTION have posted the
following statement on their MySpace-page: "OK, they've talked
and talked about it for long enough. The boys will be going into the
studio on November 21 (booked and confirmed!) to actually record the
fucking album ("Killing Music") at long last. It will be released
at the end of March 2008 and a full tour will commence in April 2008
for God knows how long followed by as many festivals that will allow
them to play!!! There will be at least 12 tracks on the final mix, maybe
more, if the studio can keep them out of the bar for long enough. Let's
hope they manage to stay alive long enough to get in the studio considering
the mayhem they cause by just popping out for a few drinks together!!!
Get the ambulances ready, it's gonna get messy." The line up of
BENEDICTION in 2007 consists of: Dave Hunt – Vocals, Darren Brookes
– Guitar, Peter Rew – Guitars, Frank Healy – Bass,

"Prevail", the CD will feature several guest appearances to
be announced at a later date.
The album is scheduled for May 23, 2008 release via Nuclear Blast Records.
KATAKLYSM recently decided to "immortalize" the character
that was featured on the cover of their most recent album, "In
the Arms of Devastation", and have him re-appear as the main character
— dubbed "The Heartbeast" — on their next offering,
"Prevail".
Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "We had so [much] killer feedback
on the artwork but especially on the character that we decided to keep
him as the band's fifth band member... kinda like IRON MAIDEN did with
'Eddie.' We have the perfect concept for the next album art... it will
be bad-ass!"

- RAMMSTEIN-GUITARIST RICHARD KRUSPE LAUNCHES NEW BAND PROJECT, EMIGRATE,
WITH DEBUT ALBUM EMIGRATE TO APPEAR ON JANUARY 28TH
For fans of Rammstein, Richard Kruspe needs no introduction –
as one of the two guitarists in the group, Kruspe is an integral part
of everyone’s favorite flame-spewing industrial metal band. Still
at work with Rammstein after more than a decade, Kruspe recently found
time to launch a new project, Emigrate. Long in the planning stages,
Emigrate’s self-titled debut will be released on January 28th,
2008 by Pilgrim/Motor Music and distributed by ADA.
The first single, “My World,” and its video are already
available via iTunes. The song features in the film Resident Evil: Extinction,
the final part of the trilogy, which has recently premiered world-wide.
The video – “My World ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’
Videomix’ – contains a hard-pounding performance by Emigrate
combined with original film material highlighting Milla Jovowich.
“My World ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ Videomix”
can be seen here: http://www.emigrate.eu/Video
The video for the album’s second single, “New York City,”
was shot in New York
and appears online in preview on the official Emigrate webpage: http://www.emigrate.eu/Video
For those concerned that Kruspe would take off on a musical detour with
Emigrate, rest easy. Kruspe lined up longtime Rammstein producer/mixer
Jacob Hellner and Stefan Glauman, resulting in an album that retains
some of the same elements as Rammstein while also coming across as pleasingly
its own. And to answer a question sure to be on the mind of Rammstein
fans everywhere – no, Kruspe is not leaving the group. Rammstein
have currently gathered in Berlin to write a new album.
Rounding out the Emigrate line-up is Arnaud Giraux (bass), Henka Johansson
(drums), Sascha Moser (Logic programs editor), and Olsen Involtini (guitar
& vocal producer), with Kruspe as expected handling guitar duties
and unexpectedly supplying lead vocals (his first lead-vocal appearance
on record). Recently speaking with acclaimed UK music critic Dante Bonutto,
Kruspe gave his thoughts about the project. “At one point, I was
asking myself, ‘Does the world really need my record?’”
But the answer to that question soon became obvious: Richard needed,
and needs, this record for the sake of his health.
“I HAD to do it, simple as that!”

- BOBAFLEX TAKES IT BACK “HOME” WITH DEBUT VIDEO
New York, NY -- The metal mavens of Bobaflex have lensed their debut
music video for the song “Home”, the first single off their
upcoming album Tales From Dirt Town.
Last week in the band’s hometown of Huntington, WV and nearby
Columbus, OH, Bobaflex handed themselves over to director Don Dobi (Cannibal
Corpse, Project 86) to shoot the clip, a unique blend of narrative content
with live footage shot at Columbus’ Alrosa Villa nightclub
The video opens in a trashed hotel room with the dirty remnants of the
previous night’s party, flashing to the band’s tour bus
where everyone is having a great time, except for frontman Marty McCoy
who is staring out the window wishing for home. Cutting back to the
hotel hallway Marty eyes a mysterious little girl who opens her hand
offering pills as she mouths the song’s lyric “Take the
red one first” which transports him into the band’s live
show at the Alrosa Villa.
"Making this video was an amazing experience,” said McCoy.
“Dan Dobi and crew worked so hard around the clock to make this
video perfect for us. It’s our first video and we didn't know
what to expect. Upon seeing the first cut, we were blown away. The Columbus
fans really showed up to represent, and we can't wait for the rest of
the world to see the magic.”
“Home” is the #1 most requested song on WBZX in Columbus,
and impacting at other Active and Modern Rock stations nationally.
Bobaflex begins a national tour with Dope on October 25 in Minneapolis.
Tales From Dirt Town collides into record stores on October 30.

- DARK FORTRESS: News from the crypt…
DARK FORTRESS have successfully finished the vocal recordings for their
new album. At the moment guitarist V. Santura is working on the mix.
“We would like to seize the opportunity to clarify two things:
1. Our new frontman Morean is not the singer, but the guitarist of the
band Noneuclid! The vocal styles of Noneuclid and DARK FORTRESS are
actually quite different.
2. The forthcoming album, which initially was entitled "Scum",
is now named "Eidolon". The musical compositions remained,
but new lyrics and vocal lines have been written and arranged.
“Eidolon” is a concept album which in its nine chapters
describes the initiation, dehumanization and unearthly rebirth of a
transcending soul by mirror magic and astral projection.”
Furthermore, DARK FORTRESS are confirmed for Metalcamp Festival 2008
(04.-06. July 08) in Tolmin, Slovenia.

- DESPITE MYRIAD OF OBSTACLES, ALL THAT REMAINS’ FIRST-EVER LIVE
CONCERT DVD RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 30 RELEASE
“ALL THAT REMAINS VAN DRIVER” VIDEO GAME SET TO PREMIERE
ON BAND WEBSITE; GAME FEATURES SNEAK PEEKS OF DVD AND CHANCE TO WIN
PRIZES
For road warriors ALL THAT REMAINS, how difficult could it be to film
and release their first-ever live concert DVD? As it turns out EXTREMELY
difficult: The band ran into an incredulous amount of obstacles delaying
the release of the DVD not once or twice, but three times. Never ones
to bow under the weight of hardship, ALL THAT REMAINS persevered, and
the DVD is at last scheduled for a real street date of October 30. Live
audio from the DVD will be available on digital service providers as
of November 6.
“We are wicked pumped to be able to offer our fans a feature-packed
DVD," ALL THAT REMAINS frontman Phil Labonte commented. "Thanks
to all the ATR fans everywhere who have waited patiently for this. It’s
a long time coming, and we feel like it’s full of good stuff and
worth the wait!”
Originally set for a summer release, the DVD was supposed to consist
of the All That Remains’ show at Philadelphia’s The Theater
Of The Living Arts, filmed in early spring. All seem to go well with
the shoot, until the production company discovered that portions of
audio in several songs had not been recorded (strike one). This necessitated
another shoot to correct the faulty audio. The next filming took place
at Baltimore’s The Recher Theater in July. This time the audio
recording was successful, but unfortunately that didn’t mean all
was well and on schedule.
Within days of completing the reshoot, the production company filed
for bankruptcy and its assets (including the entirety of the All That
Remains footage) were seized by the IRS (strike two). After a somewhat
lengthy legal battle, the footage was finally recovered and the DVD’s
release was seemingly back on track for mid-October.
Just when it seemed unlikely that any other problems could arise…surprise,
surpise – there was one more setback in store. Longtime video
game devotees, ALL THAT REMAINS often use the music from the wildly
popular game, “Halo” for their entrance during their stage
show on tour. This entrance and the “Halo” music was included
in the DVD. ATR’s label applied for clearance of the music and
were lead to believe that it would be approved, but at the last minute
were denied (strike three).
But this isn’t baseball, folks. All That Remains were down, but
not out. The DVD was quickly re-edited to exclude the “Halo”
theme song and is finally set for an October 30th release date.
In other ATR news, fans will soon have their very own ALL THAT REMAINS
video game to enjoy. Housed on the band’s website,
"All That Remains Van Driver" will premiere next week. The
game (designed by Prod) is inspired by “Spy-Hunter”: the
player is ALL THAT REMAINS Remains’ van driver and the goal is
to get the band to their gig, along the way dodging roadkill, old ladies,
potholes, etc. After each of five rounds the player gets to view sneak
peeks of performances from the DVD. Prizes will be awarded to the players
with the ten highest scores; the player with the highest score will
receive a “Guitar Hero II” video game, bundled with an autographed

- News from CRAFT
The next CRAFT album is underway. So far there is new material for about
three songs. At times, the music is turning out stranger than we had
expected, but still being in the CRAFT vein, of course. We are also
pleased to be able to honestly say that the new CRAFT will be much better
than any recording we have unleashed before.
There is no deadline to when the album will be finished, but our guess
is it will not be for at least another six months at a minimum, since
there is still much work to be done. Any more news will be posted here
first.
- New Black Cobra wrenching guts; tour with The Sword Announced
While one torrential listen to anything Black Cobra have released to
date will let you know they're the most dangerous gruesome twosome on
the planet, the upcoming Feather And Stone release is their most volatile
culmination of riotous riffs and bruising percussion yet. The eight-track
assault showcases the bands' exploration of gritty hardcore/sludge depravity
since their previous outing Bestial (once thought untouchable) will
be unleashed upon humanity on October 30th and shall leave a trail of
broke-neck-but-gleeful dead in its' bloody path.
While they've been on tour for like a year straight already - their
most recent jaunt attacking Japan, and that following multiple uber-successful
North American and European tours - the band have been picked up a US
tour supporting The Sword. Interviews are available now and throughout

The California thrashers played 2 successful shows last month in Germany
and France with new second lead guitarist Tim Thomas, formerly of Steel
Prophet and Agent Steel, as well as returning drummer Fabricio Ravelli.
“The festival’s promoter contacted us and offered HIRAX
the co-headlining slot,” said De Pena. “Needless to say,
we’re honored to do it because Keep It True is one of the MOST
respected festivals in Europe. The opportunity to play in front of the
German headbangers once again is something we take very seriously. They
are truly DIEHARD! There is NO PLACE ON EARTH like Germany. HEAVY METAL
IS THE LAW!!!”
HIRAX’s new EP, “Chaos And Brutality,” will be released
tomorrow throughout Europe on Poland’s Selfmadegod Records. The
four-song EP was recorded in February 2007 at Shiva Industries in California.
It includes the title track along with a re-recorded version of "Walk
With Death" from the band’s 2001 EP "Barrage Of Noise,”
the instrumental "100,000 Strong" and "Lucifer’s
Infierno Reprise,” an arrangement which HIRAX recently revamped
and plays live.
Selfmadegod Records will also release “Thrash Metal Warriors,”
a compilation conceived by Katon W. De Pena. The thrash metal compilation
features the HIRAX track “Chaos And Brutality” as well as
Toxic Holocaust, Sabbat, Kat, Slaver, Strike Master, Execution, and

“Assassins of War” CD/12” vinyl is now released in
5 countries – Holland, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, and the U.S. and
is available worldwide through all major distributors including Century

with the band at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 1 at El Chopo indoor
metal market, the biggest one in Mexico City.
HIRAX is currently writing and rehearsing new material for a full-length
album titled “El Rostro de la Muerte” / “The Face

- ICED EARTH, TYPE O NEGATIVE, SAXON, SODOM Featured On SPV-TV
German record label SPV has announced the debut of its SPV-TV Internet
podcast at www.spv.de/tv.
SPV-TV will introduce acts, interview the label's artists, broadcast
previews of upcoming releases, and feature the latest video clips, tour
dates etc. With immediate effect, the podcast will feature topical news
from the SPV camp, true to the motto: What's hot to see? See it on SPV-TV!
SPV-TV presenter Sir Jay will guide you through the program with his
inimitable sense of humour and great expertise. Viewers can look forward
to lots of humorous and not always entirely serious, but always informative
talks and interviews.
Part I features a Wacken 2007 special that sees Sir Jay brave all kinds
of trials and tribulations – such as mud and flames – to
risk a look into the crystal ball with one of Germany's most important
thrash metal acts, SODOM. Together with SAXON's Biff Byford, Sir Jay
reminisces about the glorious 1980s, when rock'n'roll was still wild
and debauchery-filled and obliging groupies were delighted to lend a
helping hand to a musician. Parts II and III also cover the WOA 2007,
documenting Sir Jay's encounters with TYPE O NEGATIVE, MOONSPELL, ICED
EARTH, HATESPHERE and ENGEL, among others. In addition, TYPE O NEGATIVE
guitarist Kenny Hickey is giving away a green Schecter guitar.

- DANZIG Albums To Be Reissued
Sony Legacy will reissue the following five DANZIG albums on November
13:
"Danzig" (1988)
"Danzig II: Lucifuge" (1990)
"Danzig III: How the Gods Kill" (1992)
"Thrall - DemonSweatLive" (1993)
"Danzig IV" (1994)
The reissues are not expected to include any bonus tracks or new material.
As previously reported, DANZIG will release "The Lost Tracks of
Danzig" as a limited-edition two-disc LP in a gatefold sleeve with
an eight-page booklet. The exact release date has not yet been announced.
"The Lost Tracks" is comprised of 26 previously unreleased
tracks that span Danzig's entire career and were originally recorded
during the band's seven-album "arc" that began with 1988's
"Danzig". A video for one of the songs, "Crawl across
Your Killing Floor", can be viewed below.
Glenn Danzig will hit the road beginning in late October for a handful
of live concert dates on both the East and West coasts. Joining Glenn
on these dates will be bassist Steve Zing (SAMHAIN) and guitarist Todd
Youth (DANZIG, MURPHY'S LAW); former MISFITS axe man Doyle Von Frankenstein
and his new band GORGEOUS FRANKENSTEIN, will support on all dates.
Glenn and Doyle have been in the studio recording Doyle's first solo
album, "Gorgeous Frankenstein", which Danzig produced and
will release on October 16 on his label, Evilive. According to Glenn,
he and Doyle recorded "eight blood-curdling tracks" that include
"Man or Monster", "Devilgirl", "Reverse of
God", and "Made In Hell". The two played all instruments
on the album.
These DANZIG dates are also in support of "The Lost Tracks of Danzig",
the two-CD set that was released May 29, as well as Glenn's limited-edition
book "Drukija, Contessa of Blood", loosely based on the legend
of 17th century vampire Countess Elizabeth Bathory, and illustrated
by long time collaborator Simon Bisley.
What follows are the confirmed DANZIG East and West Coast dates. Other
than these shows, DANZIG has no plans to do any touring in the foreseeable
future.

Paul Bostaph will join the ranks alongside originating classic thrash

- SKEW SISKIN To Support MOTÖRHEAD, OVERKILL
Guitarist Jim Voxx of the German female-fronted rockers SKEW SISKIN
has issued the following update:
"This time I think we really hit the bulls eye with our self-produced
CD 'Peace Breaker'. We could not be more grateful for all of the good
reviews and praise we've gotten so far. But it gets even worse. Mysteriously
one of our 'Peace Breaker' CD landed on the desk of the German concert
promoter MLK, while listening to it, they all started sobbing uncontrollably,
closed the office and went home. Things always happen when you least
expect them, because the next day we were invited to be the guest of
OVERKILL and MOTÖRHEAD, to beef up the chaos in some German cities.
Of course we said yes because we always thought that chaos and SKEW
SISKIN went hand in hand. The opening band will be VALIENT THORR from
the USA. Therefore there will be four bands to knock you upside the
head evening by evening. The shows will start around at 7:30 p.m., so
be there early you don't want to miss one moment of it! In addition
to this, we've booked two of our own club dates in Berlin and Munich
so nobody runs amok. What else would we do on off days?"
The dates are as follows:
Nov. 21 - Berlin, Germany @ White Trash
Nov. 22 - Leipzig, Germany @ Haus Auensee *
Nov. 23 - Elmshorn, Germany @ Stadthalle *
Nov. 24 - Bremen, Germany @ Pier 2 *

- TROUBLE To Release Live Album
Legendary Chicago doomsters TROUBLE will release a live album of their
2005 performance in Stockholm, Sweden early next year via Escapi Music.
The CD will reportedly be filled with lots of bonus material. More information
will be made available soon.
TROUBLE will release its long-awaited "Unplugged" CD sometime
in November 2007. Mastering has begun and should be completed shortly.
"Unplugged" will be available only through the NewTrouble.com
web site.
The track listing for the "classic" portion of the "Unplugged"
CD is as follows:
01. Misery Shows Act II
02. Flowers
03. Rain
04. Requiem
05. Tragedy Man
+ two new tracks
In an early 2007 interview with Metal-Rules.com, TROUBLE guitarist Rick
Wartell explained the reasons for the delay in getting the band's last
studio album, "Simple Mind Condition", recorded and released.
"The record has been recorded for over a year now," he said
at the time. "There were just so many loose ends that needed to
be tied up with the business of TROUBLE because we were still under
contract with Century Media. There were a lot of legal matters involved
with getting TROUBLE back together as a corporation. It looks money,
time, lawyers and a pain in the ass to get this thing back together.
Now all of that is behind us but unfortunately we sat there waiting
just as long as the fans did for this thing to get released. We couldn't
release anything until all the finances were in place, the producer
was paid, the mastering was done and a lot of things had to be taken
care of. We were frustrated just as the fans were, we sat there waiting
at home wondering when this thing was gonna get done. And finally it
all came together, everything.
With regards to the band's future plans and the possibility of another
studio CD, Wartell said, "We have no plans of doing another TROUBLE
album . . . this is it. What we decide later, we decide later, but right
now there are no plans."

- DARKANE ANNOUNCE NEW LEAD SINGER
Following the departure of lead singer Andreas Sydow this past August,
DARKANE guitarist & founding member Christopher Malmström took
some time to write in from Helsingborg, Sweden to announce the band’s
new frontman:
“DARKANE would like to welcome Jens Broman as our new vocalist!
He’s recently been seen in the vocal spot in Constucdead and The
Defaced (and will continue to sing in both bands). Jens grew up in Glumslöv,
south of Helsingborg (a good friend of Björn Strid from Soilwork),
but now lives in Stockholm. His live debut with us will take place in
three weeks at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in Copenhagen, Denmark
on November 10th. We’ve been rehearsing hard lately and are very
excited to work together with Jens. He has a huge vocal diversity and
we are pretty sure that DARKANE fans won´t be disappointed. We
had our interests set on Jens at a very early stage and would like to
thank all the people who showed their interest in joining DARKANE as
our vocalist. We wish you all the success in the future, and we’d
also like to congratulate Peter [Wildoer, drummer] and [his longtime
girlfriend] Erika for getting engaged a few weeks back.”
Last month, Peter Wildoer revealed that DARKANE has “about nine
songs ready to record” for their upcoming fifth studio album,

and so has the response. We went to Russia for the first time in September
2007 which was simply fantastic. Beyond our wildest expectations, actually.
A tour report from the Russia trip can be found on our Youtube page:

We are currently at home writing some new songs. We will combine the
pre-production and writing with some gigs - starting off with replacing
DARK TRANQUILLITY on the EASTPAK tour (with Soilwork, Caliban) in Helsinki

Early next year we have an interesting touring agenda that we can reveal
soon. We want to thank all the people coming down to the shows and making
this a special year for us. / Anders”
