- DARZAMAT WORKS WITH ANDY LA ROCQUE!
Darzamat has begun the recording of its new album which will be entitled
''Transkarpatia''. There is a huge leap forward in front of the band
as after engraving its traces in Poland, the Darzamat's members will
be the guests in Goeteborg's studio at Andy La Rocque ( the guitar player
of the cult band King Diamond ), who has undertaken the production of
the new record. La Rocque, who is famous for his play in King Diamond
as well as in Death on the record entitled "Individual Thought
Patterns", acceded to the cooperation with Darzamat without any
hesitation. We are owing the ability of making the acquaintance with
such a remarkable personality of the world metal scene to our guests
from Lord Belial, who have been cooperating with Andy for a very long
time. I am truly glad that Darzamat will also be able to work with such
an excellent musician as well as producer - states Flauros, the Darzamat's
vocalist.
The band is going to Sweden in the second half of october. Except from
the mix, La Rocque will also make the mastering of the record. The work
will take place in ''Los Angered'', the studio located in Goeteborg,
the owner of which is nobody else but the King Diamond's guitar player
himself. It is worth while adding that it is in ''Los Angered'' that,
among others, the albums of such groups as : In Flames, Evergrey or
the very King Diamond came into being. At this very moment, in polish
studio ''Maq'' there are traces of particular instruments being registered,
under the precise surveillance of Jaroslaw Toifl. Yet, the final shape
of the record will be formed in Sweden.
While taking the musical part into consideration, ''Transkarpatia''
is the development of the direction being introduced and followed on
the last record entitled ''Semidevilish''. However, the new elements
and a kind of perfection in each possible detail, will be the strong
trumps of the new album. There have been some changes in the band since
''Semidevilish''. Our keyboard player - Spectre joined the composing
and it can undeniably be heard on the new record. Music gained a certain
kind of ''spirit'', which, I personally think, ''Semidevilish'' slightly
lacked - adds Flauros.
Curiously enough, Darzamat has decided to work with the group of totally
new people.- In each case, whether it is the producer, sound producer,
cover designer or a photographer, we have been dealing with the people
we have not cooperated before. The purpose of this kind of action is
for the band and the record to gain freshness and a new view These are
the real experts in their domains. With every passing day of the work,
we are becoming more and more certain that everything ideally fits the
new album's concept. The author of the cover and graphics to the record
is Qras - a famous artist from Sosnowiec who has cooperated among others
with Frontside and Horroscope. Photos to the new album were taken by
Katarzyna Zaremba. ''Transkarpatia'' will come out at the beginning
of the next year, thanks to Polish label Metal Mind Productions.

- "MASTERS OF HORROR" SOUNDTRACK PREVIEW SET TO LAUNCH ON
MYSPACE
TO FEATURE ALL NEW SONGS BY BUCKETHEAD featuring Serj Tankian, AVENGED
SEVENFOLD, THURSDAY, MUDVAYNE, SHADOWS FALL AND MORE
2-CD SET WITH EXCEPTIONAL PACKAGING TO RELEASE OCTOBER 18
BRAND NEW VIDEOS COMING FROM IT DIES TODAY and BUCKETHEAD featuring
Serj
(MEDIA ALERT) -- In an unprecedented move, Immortal Records has teamed
up with Myspace.com to preview 16 previously unreleased tracks from
their upcoming soundtrack for the TV anthology "Masters of Horror"
(Showtime) on www.myspace.com/mastersofhorror.
The highly anticipated, 30-song double-disc comes out on October 18.
The Masters of Horror preview which runs now through release date, features
today's top metal, metalcore, punk, screamo and emo bands, including
Mudvayne, Buckethead featuring System of a Down singer Serj Tankian,
In Flames, Thursday, Mastodon, Avenged Sevenfold, Shadows Fall, Rise
Against and Every Time I Die. This marks the first time these songs
have been available to the public."Masters of Horror," which
debuts on Showtime in time for Halloween and runs through the end of
January 2006, features 13 chilling hour-long films directed by top North
American horror auteurs, including John Carpenter ("Halloween"),
Tope Hooper ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), John Landis ("An
American Werewolf in London"), Don Coscarelli ("Phantasm"),
Mick Garris ("The Stand"), Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator"),
and William Malone ("FearDotCom"). The series also attracted
several huge international directors, including Dario Argento ("Suspiria")
and Takashi Miike ("Audition"). Each episode in the anthology
will include music from the soundtrack.
In addition, videos were recently shot for It Dies Todayís "Enjoy
the Silence" and Buckethead and Tankian's "We Are One."
The It Dies today video was directed by S. Pax Franchot IV and combines
the look and feel of early David Lynch with plot elements from stories
by Edgar Allen Poe. The ìWe Are Oneî video features Tankian
as a derelict vagabond that collects animal carcasses for Buckethead,
a benevolent cabin dweller who attempts to bring the dead animals back
to life. In his attempt to resurrect the carcasses,Buckethead winds
up being attacked by the mutating creatures. "I think the track
lends itself well to the horror genre," Tankian says.
The "Masters of Horror" preview on Myspace will also showcase
previously unreleased songs by Andrew WK, Norma Jean, From Autumn to
Ashes, Alkaline Trio, Scary Kids Scaring Kids and Funeral For a Friend.
"I've always felt we would make a good date with horror flicks.
Now it's time to prove it," says Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows.
"The live recording of 'Beast and the Harlot' that we contributed
is very in your face and driving and will team up nicely with whatever
scares will be created in the movie it gets used in."
"The feeling of 'horror' is a very particular one," Andrew
WK adds. "My song 'YouWill Remember Tonight' attempts to take that
dreadful feeling and manipulate it into some thing thrilling and exciting.
I think that's essentially what horror movies are trying to do, too.
It feels good to feel scared."
"Masters of Horror" developed out of an informal bi-monthly
dinner attended by many of the horror genre's most admired directors.
Garris, who spearheaded the series, took their ideas from the realm
of fantasy into reality along with co-executive producer Andrew Dean,
and will be the showrunner of the anthology. "Masters of Horror"
is an IDT Entertainment production.

- INTRONAUT joins the Goodfellow Records Family
Goodfellow Records is thrilled to announce another addition to our label
roster, the Southern California metal quartet INTRONAUT. Made up of
members of Anubis Rising, Exhumed, Murder Construct, Phobia and Uphill
Battle (R.I.P.), the band formed in 2004 in Los Angeles. They started
playing live in April of 2005 and have quickly become one of the most
exciting new heavy bands in the LA area.
"We are super excited to work with Mr. Chris Logan and be a part
of the already spectacular Goodfellow roster!” says INTRONAUT
guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable. “We look forward to bringing
INTRONAUT to each and every one of you, and welcome the imminent poverty
and starvation that is sure to come as a result."
Their first release through Goodfellow will be the national release
of their introductory CDEP, entitled Null, in early 2006. This will
be followed almost immediately by a new full length studio album in
the spring of 2006. Full details on the album’s release are to
be confirmed shortly.
More information on the band can be found online at the band’s
homepage, located online at: http://www.intronaut.net
. Two tracks from the Null release are available for your listening
pleasure now on the band’s myspace page, located online at: http://www.myspace.com/intronaut.

- SPITFIRE inks new deal with Goodfellow Records
Goodfellow Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Virginia metalcore
quintet SPITFIRE to a new two album deal. The band, who recorded a CDEP
for Goodfellow in 2001, is currently working on a new upcoming full-length
album. It will be their first new release in four years.
“We couldn’t be happier to have Spitfire as an addition
to our lovely family of bands,” says Goodfellow label owner Chris
Logan. “2006 couldn’t come soon enough, so the world can
hear the new chapter in this bands career.”
The band is spending the month of September recording at Red Planet
studios in Virginia with producer Andreas Magnusson (Black Dahlia Murder,
Scarlet). The album, tentatively entitled Self-Help, will be released
in early 2006.One of the most intense, insane and bordering on out of
control records to maybe ever be released. This defines genres and is
leaps and bounds beyond bands like Converge and The Dillinger Escape
Plan.
Virginia's SPITFIRE issued several releases themselves and contributed
to a number of compilation discs before jumping to Solid State Records
(Underoath, Zao, Norma Jean), the aggressive music imprint label of
Tooth and Nail Records (Further Seems Forever, MxPx). The band, then
a trio, released The Dead Next Door, its only full-length for Solid
State, in 1999. Following their stint on the label, Spitfire would regroup
as a quartet, while issuing a CDEP on Goodfellow Records, The Sideshow
Whiplash, in 2001. After months of rumors, the band broke up in late
2001, with several members moving on to other projects.
The band has recently reformed, adding guitarist Scottie Henry from
the metal outfit Norma Jean and Dan Tulloh from the shock rocking Scarlet.
Musically, SPITFIRE plays a hybrid of metal and hardcore that is comparable
to bands such as Every Time I Die, The Melvins, and even Deadguy as
well as the speedy punk rock of Hot Snakes. Fans of frantic, chaotic,
technical metalcore should check out this underrated and under-appreciated
band when their new album, currently entitled Self-Help, is released
in early 2006.

Mudvayne also contributed a previously unreleased track ("Small
Silhouette") to the MASTERS OF HORROR soundtrack, the companion
album to Showtime's "Masters of Horror" TV anthology. The
disc features 30 brand-new tracks from artists such as Shadows Fall
and Buckethead with Serj Tankian. The series premieres on Showtime Friday,
October 28th and features 13 one-hour mini-movies from the acclaimed
horror directors such as John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, John Landis and
more.
Released this past spring, Mudvayne's LOST AND FOUND entered Billboard's
Top 200 at No. 2, making it both the highest debut and highest charting
album of the band's career. With sales of 152,000 units, the rock juggernaut
almost doubled the first-week numbers of its previous release, 2002's
The End of All Things To Come. It's also Mudvayne's third straight gold-and
fastest-selling-album to date. The band performed first single "Happy,"
which was No. 1 at Active Rock for a staggering ten consecutive weeks,
on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
Don't miss your chance to catch Mudvayne perform live. Dates for "Masters
of Horror 2005" are as follows:

- CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Recovering From Hurricane Katrina
European Tour Dates With Motorhead Postponed
C.O.C. Plans U.S. Tour with Disturbed
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY have been forced by Hurricane Katrina to postpone
their scheduled U.K. tour dates and European tour with Motorhead. A
New Orleans resident, C.O.C. lead vocalist/guitarist Pepper Keenan evacuated
the city with his family, leaving behind his house and Magazine Street
bar, Le Bon Temps Roulé. Keenan and his family are staying temporarily
in Lake Charles, Louisiana and awaiting word on when they will be able
to return home.
"It wouldn't feel right standing on stage singing songs at a time
like this," Keenan says. "My priority right now is to get
back home and help rebuild my city."
C.O.C. 's latest album, In The Arms Of God, struck a powerful chord
in the hard rock world, with Billboard praising it as a "riff-fueled
set that ranks with [the band's] best work" and Rolling Stone honoring
it with a 3.5-star review. Keenan, guitarist/vocalist Woody Weatherman
and bass guitarist/vocalist Mike Dean were joined on the album by special
guest drummer Stanton Moore, a member of the highly respected, New Orleans-based
jazz/funk band Galactic. Moore is a longtime friend of Keenan's and
also a Crescent City native.
Written last year, the album's fifth song, “Rise River Rise,”
sounds eerily prescient in the wake of Katrina: "I remember you,
seems like yesterday/Do you remember me? I got lost on the way/Wrong
muddy road is nothing new/We stand, but this river's washing through/River
rise from teardrops without warning/Float away while flooding yesterday/I'm
gone I won't be back by mourning/So rise river rise/Wash this place
away/Clean my dirty soul/So I can save it for Judgment Day."
Living two blocks from the Mississippi in the city's Carrollton section,
Keenan often walked along the levee and contemplated what would happen
if the river overflowed. He found out last month. As the storm approached,
Keenan boarded up his bar, his mother's house and the house of his friend,
jazz drummer Johnny Vidakovich. By the time Keenan got back to his own
home, the wind was howling. It was time to go. He grabbed a duffel bag
of clothes, the Grammy medal C.O.C. earned when their song "Drowning
in a Daydream" off Wiseblood was nominated for Best Metal Performance
in 1997, and his old National resonator guitar before joining the exodus
in his truck. He has visited the city briefly since the flood; while
his house and bar are still standing, the bar was shot at and looted.
Meanwhile, the area remains without power, sewer or running water.
"There are a lot of songs in this experience, that's for damn sure,
" Keenan says.
C.O.C. plan to tour again in support of In The Arms Of God, this time
opening for metal titans Disturbed.

- “Rainbow Six: Lockdown Soundtrack” to be Released November
15th Through Calvin Records
Produced By Fear Factory’s Raymond Herrera, CD to Feature Such
Heavy-Hitters as Soilwork, Chimaira Trivium, Strapping Young Lad and
More
What do you get when you mix Fear Factory, Trivium, Chimaira and Soilwork
with the likes of Killing Zone, Strapping Young Lad and Not Forgotten?
One bad-ass metal compilation that is sure to shake the music industry
to its core. Produced by Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera and partner
Laddie Ervin (3Volution Productions), these artists and more will be
featured on the new “Rainbow Six: Lockdown Soundtrack” which
hits stores November 15th courtesy of Calvin Records.
Rainbow Six is currently one of the top-selling video games for PSP,
X-Box, Game Cube and Playstation 2. Its accompanying soundtrack is just
one of few that has been released as a stand-alone compilation. However
Herrera, who founded 3Volution, a voice-over, music and sound effects
company for the video game industry, says that he sees the “Rainbow
Six: Lockdown Soundtrack” as just the beginning of a new trend
in entertainment.
“There’s a natural synergy between the gaming world and
the music business,” he says. “With all of the advances
in technology and the lines quickly being blurred, I believe that relationships
like this are going to become the norm and not the exception. I am just
excited to be on the ground floor of it all.”
The soundtrack includes some of the bands’ biggest hits like Soilwork’s
“Stabbing the Drama,” Chimaira’s “Eyes of a
Criminal” and Not Forgotten’s “Waiting.” Fear
Factory recorded the exclusive track “Lockdown” as well
as their version of the Rainbow Six theme just for the album.
Being distributed to all major chains, independents and big-box outlets,
the “Rainbow Six: Lockdown Soundtrack” will also include
a bonus DVD with four music videos, live interviews with Herrera, a
virtual comic, e-coupon and a game trailer as part of the label’s
value-added packaging plan.
“We wanted to give consumers something that was truly unique,”
said Mike Catain, president of Calvin Records. “I believe that
this is an important project for both the video game and music communities.”
While this release is Calvin Records’ first within the video game
industry, Catain says that it certainly isn’t its last. "This
release emphasizes Calvin's Video Game Soundtrack initiative. We are
actively pursuing companies and bands that can bring us into this world,”
he said.
The official tracklisting includes:
All My Life - Killing Zone
Lockdown - Fear Factory
Unstable - Kush
Never Forget - Not Forgotten
Game Over - Last Amanda
Waiting - Not Forgotten
Rainbow Six Lockdown Theme - Fear Factory
Stabbing the Drama - Soilwork
Like Light to the Flies - Trivium

“Unleash the Fury”, which hit stores July 26th through Spitfire

and has even been hailed as one of his best works to date. In fact,
Guitar Player magazine wrote, “Unleash the Fury will delight his
hardcore fans…The record is a straight-up metal affair with Malmsteen’s
incendiary neo-classical thumbprint inhabiting every nook and cranny.”
Also being released this year is Yngwie’s long-awaited “Concerto
Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra” DVD which was filmed
in 2001 with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted by Taizo Takemoto.

is included as a special bonus feature.
Channeling the energy from both of these projects, Malmsteen says that
this tour will be like nothing anyone has ever witnessed before. And,

- MOTÖRHEAD: 30th Anniversary Deluxe Expanded Editions
Available November 11th through Sanctuary Records
Classic Motörhead Albums Receive Special Treatment With Bonus Tracks,
Re-Mastering And Extensive Liner Notes
30 years ago, a man called “Lemmy” created something ugly,
loud and legendary. That something was Motörhead.
In celebration of three decades of one of the most underrated, influential,
and downright noisy bands to ever walk the face of the planet, Sanctuary
Records presents commemorative, 30th anniversary editions of some of
Motörhead’s most important and memorable albums, as well
as a collection of BBC archive recordings and vintage performances from
the 70s and 80s. Overkill, Bomber, Ace Of Spades, Iron Fist and No Remorse
have all been faithfully restored and enhanced for the momentous occasion.
Debuting in 1976 after Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister was unceremoniously
ejected from the space-rock band Hwawkwind, Motörhead was certainly
something “different”. “Different” in a good
way, of course. The band invented a musical genre known, appropriately
enough, as “speed metal”. Fast, crude, in-your-face and
abrasive as hell, there had never been anything else quite like Motörhead.
With the release of Overkill in 1979, Motörhead introduced the
lineup that would create some of the most important hard music albums
ever written: Lemmy on bass and grinding vocal duties, “Fast”
Eddie Clarke on guitar and “Philthy” Phil Taylor on drums.
It seems only fitting that the first album to feature this legendary
unit should receive the deluxe edition treatment. Such memorable tracks
as “Overkill”, “Stay Clean”, “Damage Case”
and “Tear Ya Down” are given a high-profile presentation,
while a second disc of bonus tracks, including b-sides and BBC radio
performances makes this release worth having.
Bomber, Motörhead’s second 1979 release and the album made
famous by the unique “bomber” shaped lighting rig that highlighted
the accompanying tour, features such awesome songs as “Bomber”
and “Stone Dead Forever”, as well as a bonus disc featuring
b-sides, alternate versions of album tracks, and the “Golden Years”
EP.
1980’s Ace Of Spades again features fully re-mastered takes of
the entire original album, including the seminal title track, perhaps
Motörhead’s most well-known anthem, as well as multiple alternate
versions of many of the album’s standout tracks and BBC radio
session outtakes.
Iron Fist, originally released in 1982, features a bonus disc with a
full live set performed in 1982 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.
No Remorse, a “best-of” collection originally released in
1984, now features bonus tracks “Under The Knife”, “Masterplan”
and two tracks “No Class” and “Stand By Your Man”
with guest vocals by shock rock icon Wendy O’Williams.
Finally, the BBC Live & In-Session features 2 discs comprising 5
unique BBC recording sessions of Motörhead classics recorded between
1978 and 1986.
In 30 years, Motörhead has done as much as any ten lesser bands
and is still going strong. Such a unique legacy deserves recognition
and celebration, and the 30th Anniversary Deluxe Expanded Editions are
an appropriate tribute to such a storied career.

- The Ultimate VENOM Box Set, MMV
Available November 8th Through Sanctuary Records
Many bands have seemingly made a deal with the devil to mark their place
in the annals of heavy metal history, but Venom was perhaps the first
to outwardly flaunt such a pact and easily among the most influential.
With their 1981 debut album “Welcome To Hell” and the ominous
chant of, “Evil…In league with Satan!,” Venom declared
war on the status quo, spit in the face of the very notion of common
decency, and set the pace for what was to come in the world of extreme
music. The British trio of alcohol-fueled, evil-minded wild men created
a legacy unlike any other, coining the phrase “black metal”
and influencing such juggernauts as Slayer and Metallica. Indeed, the
very image of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon, as well as the pentagrams
and inverted crosses that adorned their album covers, helped bring an
image and an attitude to heavy metal that is still poignant to this
day. MMV is a long overdue, four disc testament to the legacy of Venom.
MMV is a trek into the past, featuring demos, outtakes, rarities, a
radio interview and alternative versions of songs. Such impactful Venom
classics as “Black Metal”, “In League With Satan”,
“Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil)”, “Welcome
To Hell”, “Bloodlust” and “Acid Queen”
are all represented in fully re-mastered form. Also included is a full
disc of material from the Assault album series. Re-mastered and assembled
by Cronos himself, the four disc collection comes packaged in a 6”x12”
box, emblazoned with Venom’s distinct logo and baphomet design.
The box set includes a 60 page booklet and collector’s poster.
MMV’s release comes at a very appropriate time: 2005 marks the
25th anniversary of Venom’s storied career. Any metal enthusiast
should make room in their collection for this audio-history of a band
that changed the face of metal forever.

- SPV USA is proud to bring you a true heavy metal event:
HELLOWEEN's "KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS: THE LEGACY"
Undoubtedly one of the most influential heavy metal bands to spring
forth from the 1980s, HELLOWEEN proves to be one of the primary architects
of today's power metal sound. Combining the melodic elements of masters
like Judas Priest with the hard-edged speed metal sensibilities of the
early thrash scene, HELLOWEEN crystallized these sonic ingredients into
one singular force, becoming legends in the process.
Formed in Hamburg, Germany by guitarists Kai Hansen and Michael Weikath,
bassist Markus Grosskopf, and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg, HELLOWEEN
released its self-titled debut in early 1985. The band soon found an
international audience with its full-length "Walls of Jericho"
album, as fans and critics gushed over the band's thrash-fueled interpretation
of classic heavy metal. The band was ready for the big time, and evidently,
the big time was ready for them as well!
In 1987, the arrival of "Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 1"
was a landmark recording and the single most influential power metal
album to date. It proved to be an inspiration to the next generation
of metal musicians worldwide and is still revered today. Extensive global
touring cemented their place among the greats, and the band set off
to out-do themselves once again with "Keeper of the Seven Keys,
Pt. 2."
While the world was opening up to their sound, internal troubles at
the time kept the band from moving into the upper stratosphere: line-up
changes (including the passing of original drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg)
proved a major challenge to the band, yet rather than quit, they simply
re-invented themselves. Over the next decade, HELLOWEEN went on to release
some startlingly forward-thinking and experimental metal records, with
the group always trying to push their abilities as songwriters.
Today, all has come full-circle with the release of "Keeper of
the Seven Keys: The Legacy." This double-album is perhaps the truest
reflection of the career of the band, combining their sincere hard-edged
metal sensibilities with a flair for crafting memorable melodies that
often wander far outside of the traditional. Forget the standard 'focus
tracks' and the like: this album is meant to be enjoyed as a whole,
as any great metal record should be. This is a undeniably grand return
for the masters of HELLOWEEN!

- SADUS: New Album To Include Guest Appearance By TESTAMENT's CHUCK
BILLY - Oct. 20, 2005
Veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers SADUS have completed work on
their new album, "Out for Blood", tentatively due early next
year via Holland's Mascot Records.
Commented SADUS bassist Steve DiGiorgio: "Just wanted to say that
finally, our new album is fucking done! No one knows how long I've been
dying to type those exact words. So here it is, new SADUS 'Out For Blood'
— eleven new songs, some bonus crap and a cool behind the scenes
video are all comprising the fifth album.
"Man, I know it's so cliché to say this...but this is by
far our best-sounding shit... Holy crap, we're psyched for you to get
some of this shyssa (scheiße)! Hopefully the wait will be worth
it when you get infected from the contagious brutal aggression found
through all the varying songs. Some raging bear vocals to be found on
one courtesy of crazy Chuck Billy [TESTAMENT].
"We finished [the new CD] at Trident Studios here in California,
and now it's gone into production in the Netherlands and will be officially
released by Mascot Records in late January/early February 2006. The
new domain, www.sadus.us, foreseeably will be up before the end of the
year."
SADUS worked on the new album with producer Børge Finstad (MAYHEM,
BORKNAGAR, VINTERSORG, EXTOL), engineer Juan Urteaga and manager Rob
Lewis. Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 1997's "Elements
of Anger" include "Sick" and "Out for Blood".
- Liv Kristine sings duet with Marco Hietala of NIGHTWISH
Last weekend former WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboarder Martijn Westerhold

the recordings of LIV KRISTINE's vocals for two songs of Westerhold's
new project DELAIN were done. One of the tracks is a duet with Marco
Hietala, male singer and bass player of NIGHTWISH. The album of DELAINwill
be released on Roadrunner Records in 2006.

- NEBULA returns from nationwide tour; new album nearing completion
Acclaimed L.A. cosmic rock trio Nebula just completed a three-week nationwide
tour that saw them sharing stages with such groups as The Thieves, Honky,
Nashville Pussy and Zeke, as well as performing a CMJ showcase in New
York City at the legendary CBGB's nightclub. Before leaving home, the
group played the annual Sunset Junction festival in Silver Lake, Calif.,
alongside the likes of New York Dolls, Eagles of Death Metal and Burning
Brides. That show came on the heels of Nebula's performance at the ESPN
X-Games a few weeks earlier.
In other news, the group has finished recording Apollo, the follow-up
to the 2003 critical favorite Atomic Ritual. Produced by Daniel Rey
(Ramones, Misfits, L7) and recorded at Hollywood Sound Recorders (Danzig,
System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers), the album - which will be
released in early 2006 - will include songs such as "Loose Cannon,"
"Fever Frey," "The Alchemist" and "Lightbringer."

album features 4 "Team Captains" - Joey Jordison (Slipknot,

of God" which also featured Marr DeVries on rhythm guitar (Chiamara),
Rob Barret on rhythm guitar (Malevolent Creation), James Murphy performing
a guitar solo (Obituary, Death), Steve DiGiorgio on fretless bass (Death)
and Joey Jordison on drums (Slipknot, Murderdolls).

genre defining "Once Upon a Cross" before joining the ranks
of Earache records in November 2002 and then releasing their Earache
debut "Scars Of The Crucifix" in Febuary of 2004.
Decide's Earache records debut "Scars Of The Crucifix" is

The band’s most recent offering Planetary Confinement has received
rave reviews for its solemn and bleak atmosphere, a journey that is
dark and full of emotions.
- Los Angeles aggro-rockers CRISIS are on the road and ready to leave
a heavy body count as they criss-cross North America as part of The
World AbomiNations Tour. Along with veteran Bay Area thrash legends
Exodus as headliners, Crisis is sharing the stage with Canada’s
80’s-fueled metal regime 3 Inches Of Blood and heavyweights Watch
Them Die. Dates shown at the tour section below.
In other Crisis news, Crisis regrets to announce the departure of Gia
Wang, our bass player for the last 12 years. Due to family commitments
Gia will be unable to continue to be a part of the Crisis collective.
The band wishes Gia well in all his future endeavors. Nick Weitzel,
a friend of the band, will be filling in on bass guitar for the Exodus
tour. Crisis will hold auditions for a permanent bass player position
starting in November.
We are looking for an aggressive player who can perform with a live
intensity as well as be a creative force in our improvisational style
of songwriting. We prefer a player that uses a pick unless you think
you are the next Cliff Burton.
SERIOUS CANDIDATES ONLY!
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
1.) SEND BIO (NAME, CONTACT INFO, BAND EXPERIENCE, TOUR EXPERIENCE,
MUSICAL INFLUENCES, ANY MUSIC SCHOOL EXPERIENCE)
2.) You must learn the following 4 Crisis songs on your own and send

- SAPROGENIC is finished up in the studio and all that needs to be done
now is to get it mastered. I must say this is one brutal S.O.B. this
album exceeded my expectations in every way and it still hasn't been
mastered. The mastering is going to be finished by the 20th of October
at the latest. Should be done at the same time the artwork is done and
will go out to press shortly thereafter. An MP3 will be posted as soon
as the mastering is finished. An exact release date is not set at this
time but will be out in November.
- BEYOND FATAL is also finished in the studio and the album is completely
mixed and mastered and ready to go. I will be posting an MP3 on the
site in a couple days. Flawless very heavy sounding final product and
same as the Saprogenic release... it has exceeded my expectations. The
artwork is being finalized and should be ready by mid October. I expect
a mid November release date for the album. I will post more info soon.

- DORNENREICH - Hexenwind (limited edition Digipak CD / CD out 18.November
2005, Prophecy)
Nearly five years after the release of "Her von welken Nächten",
DORNENREICH will release their long-announced new album "Hexenwind"
on November 18th, 2005. Content-wise, this new work will see a mystical
deepening of "Her von welken Nächten" and the track "Reime
faucht der Märchensarg."
While the atmosphere of "Hexenwind" is essentially melancholic,
hypnotic, and measured, musically you could describe it as the total
opposite of the quick-tempered and eternally young album "Her von
welken Nächten." What Evíga is whispering in our ear
in the track "Zu Träumen wecke sich, wer kann" can be
considered as the essence of "Hexenwind": "Exercise in
fantasy, make use of the ancient art."
"Hexenwind" will be released as a CD and as a limited Digipak
CD (with silver embossing) on the Prophecy label.

- TENHI - III - Maaäet" (2006, Prophecy)
The new TENHI album "Maaäet" is re-scheduled to early
2006. The album once again sees them combining dark Finnish folk music
with Progressive-Rock and Post-Rock influences, but this time their
music has a less shamanic feel than on their previous outing, "Väre"
-- instead, TENHI are closer to the approach of their debut album, "Kauan."
On "Maaäet", TENHI use more vocals than ever before,
and they place additional emphasis on instruments such as piano or violin.

- REVEREND Set To Audition David Wayne's Brother
San Antonio, Texas, October 12, 2005 – Rumors have been abounding
on our exhaustive search for a new vocalist replacing the late David
Wayne. We would like to make it clear…we have not selected anyone
yet.
Additionally, the brother of late legendary front man David Wayne (ex-METAL
CHURCH), Dennis, will be auditioning during the weekend of Nov 4, 2005.
We are excited about the possibilities. Dennis will be treated as our
other prospects and will be put through the “grinder” during
his tryout.
Guitarist Davey Lee (also of BYFIST) had this to say, “…we
are keyed up about the possibilities. DC will be coming to Texas in
the next few weeks and we hope there will be magic when he auditions.”
- INTO ETERNITY Wrap Up Fourth 2005 North American Tour
“Buried in Oblivion is a defiantly original work filled with stunning
musical virtuosity and truly original ideas.” – Revolver
Canada’s progressive death metal band INTO ETERNITY have wrapped
up their fourth 2005 North American tour supporting their latest album
Buried Into Oblivion. This year the band has been privileged to share
the stage with metal veterans Amorphis, Hate Eternal, Krisiun, Incantation,
Hammerfall, Edguy and now Stratovarius. Drummer Adam Sagan commented,
“The tour is winding down, and we have had a freakin’ blast.
We’ve seen old friends, and have made plenty of new ones. It’s
also been killer seeing a lot of you returning to see us. The Stratovarius
guys are great, but since the bands had really different touring schedules
(we drove our van and they had a bus) we didn’t have a lot of
opportunities to get to know them… until we closed down Seattle’s
Studio Seven drinking together.
“Just when we thought we would be going home and ending the year
on a high note with Stratovarius, we were given the honor of playing
two weeks with Opeth and Nevermore: truly a dream come true. Personally
I could tour with either band and die happy, but touring with both together
come on…”
INTO ETERNITY will begin working on Buried In Oblivion’s follow
up album after finishing the Opeth / Nevermore tour. For more information
please contact me directly.

- Unexpect Recording Update
Only one week of recording left before the mix....we finally arrive
at destination after a long and rather intense trip in Audioland.
The new album is officially going to be titled " In a Flesh Aquarium
".
We're completely satisfied with the multi-environmental mood of the
album....some heads will explode…or melt…or just stay exactly
as they were before listening to the album because of some static electricity
problem with the balloons. As some of you may know, it's not my birthday,
but anyway…I like it that way….ooohhh…when it rains
on a naked brain….
We'll play 2 new songs from the upcoming album at the Day of the Equinox....t'will
be funnnnnnnnn...
And I'd say that, if life was not so lively, I would be dead or stuck
with a predatory smile looking intently at some nice bolts and gears
in a doll factory….Hummmm…were was I…..
Oh yes….talking about a music band…
We're still playing instruments and like the sound of it.
See ya..

- VH1 To Air Four-Part 'Definitive History' Of Heavy Metal
VH1 has announced plans to launch "VH1 Rock Docs", an all-new
slate of high-end feature-length programs in 2006. Each of the docs
will reveal an untold story in the history of rock and hip-hop music,
combining never-before-seen footage with a unique and unconventional
narrative approach. The documentaries will tell some of the most unique
stories of the artists and music from a wide range of genres, styles,
and musical perspectives. The "VH1 Rock Docs" slated for premiere
in 2006 include a four-hour definitive history of heavy metal, "The
U.S. vs. John Lennon", "The Last Days of Lisa Lopes"
and "DMC: The Real Me". Additional documentaries will be announced
shortly. A brief synopsis of the heavy metal documentary reads as follows:
"What Ken Burns did for jazz, VH1 does for heavy metal —
only a lot louder. This four-part documentary traces the evolution of
heavy metal music and culture from BLACK SABBATH to WHITE ZOMBIE, from
LED ZEP to DEF LEP, from MOTÖRHEAD to MASTODON. In the same vein
as VH1's critically acclaimed 2004 hip-hop chronicle, 'And You Don't
Stop', this documentary series will use interviews, verite moments and
vintage footage to bring metal's history to life, told from the perspective
of the musicians, promoters, writers and fans who have kept metal's
flame alive for four decades."
- Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE) will reportedly be taking over the guitarist
slot in DIO on the remainder of the band's current European tour beginning
with the October 6 show in Eindhoven, Holland. A moderator for Aldrich's
official message board has posted the following message on Doug's web
site:
"Well, Doug was looking forward to a break after theWHITESNAKE
tour but at the last minute, it seems he has been asked to fill in on
the DIO tour in Europe.
"There aren't a lot of details on my end but Doug confirmed that
he has gotten the call to come over to Europe [as soon as possible].
While currently a member of WHITESNAKE, Doug has informed David [Coverdale,
WHITESNAKE frontman] of the situation and has been given the OK to go.
Doug will be joining Ronnie on the tour starting October 6th in Eindhoven
Holland.
"I have no details on the situation regarding the current DIO guitarist
Craig [Goldy], but will let you know when I have more information."
Meanwhile, the following message was posted on the Dio Message Board
by a fan who attended DIO's concert in Minsk, Belarus (former Soviet
Union) on Sunday (October 2):
"They played 'Tarot Woman', of course... But no 'Stargazer' of
'Gates of Babylon' in Minsk! Yesterday there was only ONE encore!!!!
('Man on a Silver Mountain' and 'Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'). After that
every person in group looked at [Craig] Goldy and [the show] soon finished.
I saw that Goldy was not on the legs after the concert: two men [took]
him away... And I read yesterday some reviews [in the] Russian [media]
about two [other] concerts in Samara and in Moscow. And in every review
there was a small [paragraph] about Goldy's behavior!!!! So, it is very
strange. Maybe some problems with health? Or drunken [behavior]? Every
gig??"
- SAXON frontman Biff Byford has posted the following message on the
band's official web site:
"Well, it's about time I said something!
"First of all, I would like to say 'Thank you' to everybody who
sent messages after the fire it was a bad period in our lives but you
have to go on and try and make something good from out of the bad. We
are now in a new house much bigger than the last one and everybody is
starting to put their lives back together. The fire started at five
in the morning when we were all in bed [you may believe this or not?]
But somebody or something shouted 'Wake up' really loud and I just shot
up bolt upright. The room was full of smoke. I woke my wife and we got
the children out of there bedrooms by this time the flames were dropping
though the ceiling so we had a very lucky escape. Who it was I do not
know. I have lost both my parents and some good friends along the way.
"Anyway, that's how it was.
"On a lighter note, Nigel [Glockler] is back in the band after
7-8 years we have been rehearsing in the U.K. and it sounds great like
he never left! We have to say farewell to Jörg [Michael, STRATOVARIUS]
who has left the voyage early and we did not have time say a drunken
farewell, but we will real soon, Jörg.
"Anyway, we are all looking forward to the tour."
Confirmed SAXON tour dates:
Nov. 04 - The Sterling Hotel - Allentown, PA
Nov. 05 - Double D's - Morristown, NJ
Nov. 06 - The Beachland Ballroom - Cleveland, OH
Nov. 07 - House Of Blues - Chicago, IL
Nov. 08 - Shank Hall - Milwaukee, WI
Nov. 11 - The Galaxy - Dallas, TX
Nov. 12 - Sunken Garden Amphitheatre - San Antonio, TX

American tour in May but ended up cancelling the dates as a result of
Byford wanting to stay by his family's side after his house in the Normandie
area of France burned down.
SAXON have been confirmed for the Sweden Rock kick-off concert on December
3 at Globen Annexet in Stockholm, Sweden. Also appearing on the bill
are CLAWFINGER and KROKUS.
SAXON are continuing to tour in support of their latest CD, "Lionheart",
available now on SPV Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Killing
Ground" features artwork by Paul R. Gregory, who has previously
worked with the group on the now classic "Crusader" album.
- CRYPTOPSY / ABORTED Join Forces Conquer North America
Intense music for intense audiences: Montreal’s Cryptopsy hit
the road last week with Suffocation, Aborted and Despised Icon supporting
their forthcoming October 18 release Once Was Not. The band’s
new album has already been touted as “delivering jazz-smattered,
flamenco-laced, off-time crushing dominance that is nearly impossible
to follow, yet compulsively enthralling” (Explicitly Intense).
Already requesting live performances of the yet to be released songs,
fans have been making the band welcome every night. “The tour
is going extremely well, all the bands get along, and although we have
had to reschedule a couple of dates due to the hurricanes, the venues
have been packed!” says the band’s unstoppable drummer Flo
Mounier. “We’ve been out hitting hard and having a great
time every night. It’s exciting to talk to fans who have already
heard some of the new material, the feedback is already great.”
Commenting on their first North American tour, Aborted’s vocalist
Sven de Caluwé said, “After a hard start, missing the first
couple of shows, it’s going really well. San Antonio and Houston
fans were rabid, and we are looking forward to seeing more of you. The
guys in all the bands, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Despised Icon are really
down to earth, and it’s a great vibe among us all.” Fans
will not be disappointed with their crushing live performance.
With this year’s spring 2005 tour CRYPTOPSY reintroduced their
committed fan-base to Lord Worm, the band’s original vocalist
who rejoined the band in late 2004. “An album that envelopes,
battering the listener with any number of rhythmic weapons,” (Blabbermouth.net)
Once Was Not demonstrates the licentious cohesion that years of touring
with metal’s leaders, performing at prestigious European festivals,
and six full-length studio releases have given the band.

- CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has shot down rumors that he was
killed in a tragic car accident on the eve of entering the studio to
begin recording the band's new album.
BLABBERMOUTH.NET
received a message on Tuesday stating that reports were coming in that
Pybus has been killed in a car accident. "Apparently Dave was driving
back from a show in London with one of his label bands BLOODY MARY when
his car veered off the road and hit a tree near Colchester, England
(about 20 miles from Ipswich, where CRADLE live)," the message
stated.
"This happened 3:30 a.m. Monday night."
In an e-mail sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Pybus rejected the rumors, stating,
"I received a few phone calls in the middle of the night checking
if I was alive or not. Well, I was quite suprised by all that... so...
sorry to let you all down, but I'm still here to fight another day."
CRADLE OF FILTH are scheduled to enter the studio October 10 to begin
recording the follow-up to last year's "Nymphetamine", tentatively
due in early 2006 via Roadrunner Records. Songtitles set to appear on
the CD include "I Am The Thorn", "Lovesick For Mina",
"The Byronic Man", "Cemetery And Sundown", "Libertina
Grimm", "The Flora Of Nightfall, The Fauna Of War" and
"Dirge Inferno".
CRADLE OF FILTH's most recent release was "Nymphetamine: Special
Edition", available now on Roadrunner. The collection features
two all-new tracks ("Prey" and "Soft White Throat"),
covers of OZZY OSBOURNE's "Mr. Crowley", BATHORY's "Bestial
Lust" and CLIFF RICHARD's "Devil Woman", two previously
unreleased tracks, all-new and expanded artwork, and the video for "Nymphetamine".
- SHADOWS FALL Drummer Comments On STIGMATA Reunion Show
SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner has confirmed reports that he will
be taking part in a one-off reunion of his former band, legendary Troy,
New York hardcore act STIGMATA, on Friday, November 25 at Saratoga Winners
in Latham, NY. The rest of STIGMATA's lineup will be the same as it
was five years ago prior to the band's split: Bob Riley on vocals, Mike
Maney on guitar, Jay Sunkes on guitar, and Buddy Armstrong on bass.
Commented Bittner: "Yes, it's true! For those of you not familiar,
STIGMATA was my old band before I joined [SHADOWS FALL]. We will be
reuniting for a special reunion show and playing a lot of great hardcore/metal.
And for those of you who ARE familiar, we will be playing the 'Hymns
for an Unknown God' record in its entirety!!! So come out and enjoy!"

- EMPEROR REUNITES!
Black metal legends EMPEROR reunited after four years to play a surprise
three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's 15-year anniversary
which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller Friday night (Sept. 30). Norwegian
metal radio show Tinitus was at the venue to witness the historical
moment. In exclusive interview conducted in English with the radio show
producer Patrizia Mazzuoccolo prior to the gig, original members Ihshan
and Samoth, alongside drummer Trym, discussed the reason behind the
event. "We are not playing a full show tonight," Samoth explained.
"This is a short teaser that we are using to announce full headline
shows we are doing next year. This is a cooler way of announcing them
instead of telling people through our web site." It was announced
last night after the band's set that EMPEROR will headline the Inferno
festival (April 13-15, 2006) in Oslo, Norway and Wacken Open Air (August
3-5, 2006) in Wacken, Germany next year.
The illustrious black metal band, whose split in 2001 took the scene
by surprise, performed three tracks -"The Loss And Curse Of Reverence,"
"I Am The Black Wizards," "Inno A Satana" - and
received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Announced as a "big
surprise band," the whole arrangement was so secret that neither
organizers of the magazine's anniversary party nor the band itself told
their closest friends and associates until yesterday - amongst others,
original EMPEROR drummer Faust, a member of SCUM alongside guitarist
Samoth, was not present. "It's been a pain in the ass to keep it
from friends actually," offers Samoth, "but we had to do it
properly or not do it at all so we decided to keep it as secret as we
could. Faust is doing a show in Notodden with BLOOD TSUNAMI tonight
so he couldn't have made it anyway&"
With Samoth and Trym recording a third ZYKLON album in November and
Ihshan releasing a solo album in March next year, what are the probabilities
of a new EMPEROR release?
Hear the whole exclusive interview on Tinitus on Wednesday, October
5 on Norwegian national radio channel P3. Tinitus is on every Wednesday
from 20:00 (8:00 p.m.) to 22:00 (10:00 p.m.) on P3. The show is also
available on the Internet: www.nrk.no/tinitus.
