  • HEADHUNTER'S Paradise of Society American release date confirmed

Candlelight Records in cooperation with AFM Records confirms June 10 as the US release date for Parasite of Society, the new album from reformed German trio Headhunter. Featuring the famed line-up of Schmier (Destruction), Schmuddel (Talon) and Jorg Michael (Saxon/Stratovarius), Parasite to Society is an instant throwback to classic German metal. It is the band’s first new recording in nearly 13 years.

Schmier (vocalist/bassist) is the man behind the engine. His persona and drive is what has made Destruction the musical force it has come to be appreciated for nearing two decades. With Headhunter, the metal icon is given opportunity to reach outside his normal musical environment; more “power” than “thrash” and adding an immediately identifiable dash of humor. Parasite of Society is a classic good time in waiting.

Headhunter are a confirmed a special performer at this summer’s Wacken Open Air Festival. Track listing for Parasite of Society includes: 3rd Man Introduction, Parasite of Society, Silverskull, Remission, Doomsday for the Prayer, 18 and Life, Read My Lips, Backs to the Wall, Egomaniac, The Calling, Payback Time.

  • Open your mind to MindDrop

Already topping the IAC Hard Rock Charts and Cashbox Magazine Charts with their singles "Situations" and "Monster", Mind Drop is kicking ass and taking names. Mind Drop has been nominated for a 2008 IAIA Golden Kayak award for "Monster" which is the most prestigious award an unsigned band can acheive. Comprised of Tim Bourbon (Vocals), Adam Deases (Guitar), Chris Ruzic (Bass) and Robert Bull (Drums), Mind Drop has already completed a three song EP with plans to release another four song EP this May. They can best be described as a mix of Nu Metal beat over the head by Old School Metal, but don't think that means they don't offer their own, unique mix to the hard rock/metal genre.Mind Drop has shared the stage with bands such as FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, Oblige, OTEP and ANEW REVOLUTION. Be sure to check them out live this Spring and listen to their current single "Situations" and "Monster" at www.myspace.com/minddropband. Email minddroppress@yahoo.com for

  • Shred Guitar Pioneer PAUL GILBERT Releases New Guitar Instrumental CD

SILENCE FOLLOWED BY A DEAFENING ROAR on Shrapnel Records April 8th

HOLLYWOOD – On April 8, Paul Gilbert will unleash yet another instrumental masterpiece on Shrapnel Records. SILENCE FOLLOWED BY A DEAFENING ROAR comes out on the tail end of his successful and very first instrumental CD, 2006’s GET OUT OF MY YARD.

SILENCE FOLLOWED BY A DEAFENING ROAR’s title is inspired by a recent move that Gilbert and his wife made from one house to another. “After two long months of packing, moving, and learning about the vast sciences of plumbing and electrical house wiring, I was very much looking forward to becoming a GUITARIST again,” explains Gilbert. This CD is the result of that desire. “I suppose those two months without my guitar is the ‘Silence,’ and the sound of me happily reuniting with my favorite musical instrument could be the ‘Deafening Roar.’ ”

Gilbert’s extraordinary talent of arranging/composing lends to the new music’s fresh melodies for songs that show his true diversity. Gilbert discusses some of the songs and how they came to light: “The first three songs on the album are sort of a bridge from the riff-and-solo style of GET OUT OF MY YARD to my new discoveries in melody writing that come in the songs that follow. ‘Silence,’ ‘Eudaimonia Overture’ and ‘The Rhino’ certainly have melodic elements, but from ‘Norwegian Cowbell’ until the end of the record, I use pure melody more and more. Many of these melodies were actually composed with my singing voice.”

Paul Gilbert, regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in the industry, started his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a teenager in the late Eighties. He remains one of the most active guitarists from the original shred guitar scene. Hi rise to Platinum success includes a number one song with Mr. Big (1991’s “To Be With You”) and cult status as founding member of the legendary and highly successful underground progressive metal band Racer X.

Gilbert’s celebrity draws from nearly 20 albums and more than two decades as a recording artist and touring musician. Last year Gilbert toured on the legendary G3 tour in support of Joe Satriani, and his performances confirmed to a younger audience what Gilbert fans have known for more than 20 years; that Paul Gilbert is simply one of the greatest guitar players on the planet today.

Gilbert follows the release of SILENCE FOLLOWED BY A DEAFENING ROAR with a record release show at the House of Blues Sunset Strip in Hollywood on Wednesday, May 7th, Gilbert will then tour the U.K. with Joe Satriani, with many more headlining shows to follow all around the world.

Don’t miss Paul Gilbert and his amazing band as they rock across the globe!

  • TEMUJIN SIGN WITH RENAISSANCE RECORDS

Melbourne, Australia -- Following the 2007 self-published release of the debut album '1000 Tears', Australian Goth/Metal band Temujin have signed with US independent label Renaissance Records for distribution of "1000 Tears" in the USA, Canada and Mexico. In support of the US retail release, discussions are under way for a proposed US tour later in 2008.

This feels very much like a case of 'right place, right time' for us" says vocalist Kelly. "Renaissance are a true 'indie' label, a small but dynamic company. This is an opportunity for both the band and the label to grow together, and we're looking forward to it. Renaissance is showing faith in us, and we aim to reward that faith this year!"

Renaissance Records is a proudly independent label based in Phoenix, Arizona. Established in 1995 with an initial focus on the reissue of classic rock and classic country LPs on CD for the first time, the company is moving into the next phase of it's history with some great new talent and a worldwide focus on music from around the planet - "One Vision....One Voice" . Renaissance is currently distributed nationally by Koch Entertainment Distribution.

Temujin are Kelly (vocals, keyboards) and Karl Lean (guitars, bass and drums). Formed in 2005, the band has focused on writing and recording throughout 2006, which culminated in the 2007 release of '1000 Tears'. The band are determined to build on the foundations laid in 2007, and the deal with Renaissance kicks 2008 off with a major step forward.

  • INTO ETERNITY reveals the details surrounding their first conceptual effort; posts new unmastered track online!

For proof that from great suffering comes great art, look no further than INTO ETERNITY founding guitarist/principal songwriter Tim Roth. Much as he drew inspiration from his mother's passing when writing the band's critically acclaimed 2006 release, “The Scattering Of Ashes”, Roth again found the strength and resilience to turn negatives into positives on the "extreme progressive metal" band's forthcoming release, “The Incurable Tragedy”.

INTO ETERNITY's first concept album, “The Incurable Tragedy” was inspired by the deaths of Roth's two best friends, brothers who succumbed to cancer within two months of one another. To make matters worse, when the band began demoing new material shortly after the completion of the Scattering tour - a star-making year of shows that saw the band perform alongside such internationally renowned acts as Dream Theater, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Opeth, Arch Enemy, The Haunted and Dark Tranquillity - Roth's father was diagnosed with cancer as well. Showing no mercy, the disease claimed his life last year, just 10 days before Christmas.

Roth channeled his emotions into a moving and riveting album, due out on Century Media Records this summer. This spring, however, the band will take a break from the studio to tour throughout North America with like-minded progressive metal shredders Symphony X. That trek will be followed by the band's first tour of Japan, where they will perform alongside At The Gates, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mayhem and Pig Destroyer at the prestigious "Extreme The Dojo" festivals.

To tide fans over until the release of “The Incurable Tragedy”, the band has posted on their MySpace (www.myspace.com/officialintoeternity) an unmastered rough mix of a brand new song, “Diagnosis Terminal”, which they will perform live at each of their spring concerts (see below for dates). The track is classic INTO ETERNITY, featuring a heavy groove, stop-on-a-dime time changes, reflective lyrics, a memorable chorus, a string-shredding solo, and vocals that range from guttural growls to soaring harmonies.

"'Diagnosis Terminal' is one of the heaviest songs on the new record," Roth says. "The song started with a chorus I had written. Justin (Bender, guitars) then sent me a MP3 demo of a few killer riffs he had, and the song was born. The key I had my chorus in didn't match the pitch of his new riffs, so that's how we came up with the idea of having the same chorus, but in two different keys. I think it sounds clever now, but it was actually just a mistake!

"The whole song has some wacked-out time changes, but we tried to make it all sound as smooth as we could," he continues. "It's tough to make off-time riffs sound natural, but that is the fun of playing in a progressive metal band. I really enjoy the interlude in the middle and the end of the song. On the new record, we have a few riffs in 9/8 and the main solo in 'Diagnosis' is a good example of that. After we finished up the music, Stu (Block, vocals) came in and wrote all the melodies and lyrics, and the song 'Diagnosis Terminal' was born. The whole band was involved in this song, and I'm really happy with the way it all turned out."

More information on “The Incurable Tragedy” will be revealed at www.myspace.com/officialintoeternity and www.intoeternity.net in the coming weeks
  • NEVERMORE's Jeff Loomis announces solo project; enters the studio!

One of metal’s most talented shredders, Jeff Loomis, of NEVERMORE fame will further prove his undeniable skills with his first solo project, which is set for a fall release. The ambitious offering is an all instrumental effort and is destined to shed some much deserved spotlight on the genre’s most notable, yet unsung, guitar player.

Loomis states: “Hi everyone. I just wanted to give you all an update on the solo project. I entered Robert Lang studios on March 22nd with producer Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE) and drummer Mark Arrington. Mark completed the drums for 10 tracks in about three and a half days. He did some incredible drum work that I know will bring this record to a higher level than I expected. Mark and I worked before back in 1993-94 when he played half the songs on our debut CD. Being able to do this entire recording with Neil is really amazing as well. We've done some great work in the past, but being able to focus on an entire instrumental record is going to be great. Rhythm guitars will be tracked next. I'll keep everyone informed on the progress as we track for the next month.”

Furthermore, Jeff can also be heard on the forthcoming solo album “Praises To The War Machine” by NEVERMORE-vocalist Warrel Dane, which will be released via Century Media this month. Loomis is doing a guest solo on the song “Messenger”, which can currently be streamed on www.myspace.com/warreldane

Frequent updates on the recording process of his first solo album as well as more info on Jeff Loomis can be found on his official MySpace site www.myspace.com/jeffloomis

  • THE ACACIA STRAIN confirms European touring plans this summer

Massachusetts’ THE ACACIA STRAIN have confirmed a return trip to Europe with support from Annotations of An Autopsy and Knights of the Abyss, including a show with Converge, Inegrity and Coliseum in Germany. Heading across the pond in July and August, this marks the band’s first return after offering direct support to Hatebreed in April of 2007 and first set of tour dates after THE ACACIA STRAIN’s plans to headlining shows throughout the US on the Sun Your Bunz Summer Tour with support from All Shall Perish, The Warriors, Eternal Lord and Since The Flood.

“I can't even express in words how excited I am for this tour,” frontman Vincent Bennett says. “This is our first time in mainland Europe, so expect some culture shock on both ends. Annotations and Knights of The Abyss both bring devious amounts of heavy, so this should be a tour to contend with. See you in July!”

Meanwhile, THE ACACIA STRAIN will enter the studio April 13 with Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Municipal Waste) at Planet Z Studio to record ‘Continent,’ the follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Dead Walk.’ Again handling artwork will be Paul Romano (Mastodon, The Red Chord, Trivium), and one of the pre-production tracks from ‘Continent,’ entitled “Dr. Doom,” is available on the band’s MySpace page.

  • TERROR signs worldwide deal with Century Media Records; New album & tour!

The tireless and tour-hungry hardcore loyalists in LA’s TERROR, spearheaded by the endless enthusiasm of frontman Scott Vogel, have earned quite a reputation since forming at the turn of the millennium. Their melding of no-frills breakneck hardcore and the fervor of new generation metal bridges the gap between young and old, and it makes for one hell of a pit no matter what city or stage the band leaves in ruin. Vogel has been a key figure in the scene’s survival, having given up a normal home life to slug it out on the road despite broken limbs, slipped discs and everything else that comes with hosting a TERROR show.

Century Media Records has been a long-time admirer of Vogel and the band, and the label is thrilled to now officially welcome them to its increasingly diverse worldwide roster and announce the summer release of TERROR’s third full-length, “The Damned, The Shamed” on May 26th. This vicious slab of brutality was produced by the renowned Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) and is sure to please the band’s diehard fanbase, while garnering a new legion of young maniacal supporters.

Be sure to stay tuned to www.myspace.com/terror for a new track, which should be posted in the coming weeks. Furthermore, TERROR will be touring Europe with labelmates Ignite as well as play several headliner shows in April/May, so see below for an exact list of dates!

Vogel further comments on the newly signed deal:
"After a good run with Trustkill and several cool releases TERROR felt it was time for a fresh push and to attack from a whole new angle. We are very pleased to put out our next record with Century Media. We are lucky enough to travel and tour every corner of the earth and CM has a great worldwide presence. Plus, with a back catalogue of Merauder, Shadows Fall etc., we are in great company."

As synonymous as the band has become with stellar live shows, records like “Lowest of the Low”, “One with the Underdogs” and “Always the Hard Way” have earned TERROR a reputation for consistency. No matter what the circumstances, Vogel has surrounded himself with talent rich in passion. A DIY attitude has often been a common bond between band members, and the current line-up is no exception. New guitarist Martin Stewart made invaluable contributions to the purist, no B.S. approach heard on Donnybrook’s “Lions In This Game”, Doug Weber (guitar) and Nick Jett (drums) have been with the band from the start, and Jonathan Buske (bass) gave “Always the Hard Way” an effective lumbering beat.

If anything, TERROR’s goal is to bring back the good natured release of circle pits and stage dives as well as the finger-pointing anthems that were once integral to the hardcore scene. In its infancy, the band represented everything overzealous bouncers hated, and Vogel encouraging the crowd to “elevate the maximum stagedive potential” didn’t always sit well with the venues they packed with sweaty kids fed-up with aimless music. Nonetheless, thanks to word of mouth and the strength of songs like “Keep Your Distance” and “What Have We Done”, the band soon found itself touring partners with everyone from Hatebreed to Killswitch Engage.

It is this drive and desire that has cemented TERROR into the hearts of music fans worldwide and made them royalty within the touring front. The fact that they’re direct support to the reunited Earth Crisis right now speaks volumes. Time off for TERROR is considered time away from their hardcore family across the globe, something that they cannot live without, so rest assured, the years to come hold many more releases and live appearances worldwide.
Rest assured that, “The Damned, The Shamed” is the definitive hardcore album of 2008. Consider this your only warning.

  • CRYPTOPSY posts new track online; touring Europe in May/June 2008!

The unstoppable Montreal killing machine, CRYPTOPSY, has wreaked havoc throughout the extreme metal genre for more than a decade, but in 2008 the band has returned stronger than ever. CRYPTOPSY have ultimately crafted their career defining release, “The Unspoken King”, which could quite possibly also be their most brutal, yet dynamic offering. A blistering new track “Worship Your Demons” can currently be streamed on the band’s revamped MySpace page (www.myspace.com/cryptopsy), so head over now to check out the insanity for yourself.

Drummer Flo Mounier states:“We as a band have, since the beginning, been experimenting and trying to come up with music that is fresh and new. This album is no different. So mundane to us is music with no purpose, no feeling and just plain repetitive. It was time for CRYPTOPSY to acquire new blood that would play out a vision we’ve seen for years. We took an approach that gives our music a huge dynamic range and brings out its power. Brutality, diversity, complexity, emotion and musicianship define this latest work.”

Apart from hitting Europe with Decrepit Birth and Unmerciful in May/June 2008, CRYPTOPSY are also confirmed to join this year’s crushing Summer Slaughter touring package in the US featuring acts like The Black Dahlia Murder, Kataklysm, Vader, labelmates Aborted and many, many more. Visit www.myspace.com/summerslaughtertour for more info!

In 2008, CRYPTOPSY returns with “The Unspoken King” to redefine the boundaries of technical extreme metal with an album that is sure to catch the attention of the entire scene.

  • FILTER SET TO KICK OFF FIRST TOUR IN NEARLY SIX YEARSAPRIL 24 IN AUSTIN, TEXAS;

NEW CD 'ANTHEMS FOR THE DAMNED' OUT MAY 13VIA PULSE RECORDINGS

As they prepare to release their new CD ANTHEMS FOR THE DAMNED May 13 via Pulse Recordings, FILTER have announced their first tour in nearly six years. The first leg of this U.S. trek--a mix of headlining shows, radio festivals and special engagements--begins April 24 at Stubb's in Austin, Texas, to be followed by three June shows overseas in Germany and the U.K. Earlier this month, FILTER made a special appearance for the troops in Kuwait when they performed at the March 10 Operation MySpace concert.

While on tour, FILTER will preview songs from ANTHEMS FOR THE DAMNED alongside such FILTER classics as "Hey Man, Nice Shot," "Take a Picture" and others. ANTHEMS FOR THE DAMNED--produced by Pulse Recording head Josh Abraham--features the first single "Soldiers of Misfortune"; its been one of the most added tracks on the active and alternative radio charts the past two weeks with airplay on stations such as KDGE (Dallas), KTBZ (Houston), Q101 (Chicago), KPNT (St. Louis), WBCN (Boston), KQRC (Kansas City), KXXR (Minneapolis), WEBN (Cincinnati) and WBUZ (Nashville), to name a few. PATRICK describes the soaring anthem--with its U2/Bowie flavor and stacked backdrop of buzzing electric guitars--as a "sardonic anti-war/pro-troops song." The first-person narrative was inspired by a letter from a FILTER fan who had enlisted in the Army reserves to get his college tuition paid; in his final year of college, he was shipped off to Iraq where he died from a rocket attack and small arms fire after just a few days of duty.

Catch FILTER live at the following shows and look for more tour dates to be announced in the near future. Also check out www.officialfilter.com and http://www.myspace.com/filter1 .

  • NEURAXIS offers studio webisode #2 footage

Canada’s NEURAXIS has issued the band’s latest webisode video clip entitled “NEURAXIS Studio Episode #2 – Guitars,” featuring footage and interviews from the recording of the band’s fifth studio record. Footage is available online at the band’s MySpace page. NEURAXIS tapped Jef Fortin (of fellow Canadians Anonymus) to record the band’s debut album for Prosthetic Records, ‘The Thin Line Between,’ which will also feature a guest vocal cameo from the legendary Luc Lemay (Gorguts, Negativa).

"The writing and recording process for ‘The Thin Line Between’ was probably the most intense I've ever experienced,” says guitarist Rob Milley. “Sound-wise this is going to be our best so far. Song-wise, it’s our most complete album to date."

“I'm very happy with how the guitar playing was captured,” added fellow guitarist Will Seghers says. “Precise, vicious and dynamic are words that come to my mind when hearing the new album." More excerpts are available in the webisode.

    ‘The Thin Line Between’ tracklisting:
    1) Darkness Prevails
    2) Wicked
    3) Versus
    4) Deviation Occurs
    5) The Thin Line Between
    6) Dreaming The End
    7) Standing Despite...
    8) Oracle
    9) Phoenix
    10) The All And The Nothing

Currently wrapping up recording and mixing of ‘The Thin Line Between,’ NEURAXIS will be offering up more in-studio and behind the scenes footage between now and the album's July 22 release. Having entered the studio Feb. 19, Alan Douches (Mastodon, Converge, Shadows Fall) is now at work mastering the effort, and artist Dennis Sibejin of Damnengine Art (Job For A Cowboy, Chimaira) will showcase the record’s visuals. The new album will be the first studio album featuring new vocalist Alex Leblanc and new guitarist William Seghers, both having appeared on the recently-released 'Live Progression,’ via Galy Records. ‘Live Progression’ is the live follow-up to NEURAXIS’ last studio album, 2005's 'Trilateral Progression.’ More details, artwork for ‘The Thin Line Between,’ tour dates, and regular in-studio footage updates will be available shortly.

Milley was also recently featured on the weekly Canadian radio show "The Governor's Ball." To check out the interview with the NEURAXIS guitar player and host 'The Governor,' head over to the radio show's official MySpace page.

  • MARAZENE Drummer Completes Chemotherapy, Condition: "Stable"

Chicago based Machine-Metalists MARAZENE have issued an update on drummer and co-founder KRISTOV KEMPs battle with cancer via a blog posting on the bands Official Myspace page.

"Scans came back stable today [Thursday, March 27th] which means the affected nodes haven't gotten any bigger or smaller and no other cancer has developed. Thanks to everyone for the comments and kind words! The tremendous outpouring of support over the past six months has been uplifting to say the least."

In late September of 2007 Kristov suffered a last minute cancer relapse which prevented him from joining the band on their tour with MUSHROOMHEAD last Fall. Careful last minute logistical maneuvering by the band and an 11th hour confirmation by Mushroomhead percussionist Dan 'Little Dan' Fox, who filled in on drums for the band on the five week trek, saved the tour.

Kristov Kemp was first diagnosed with intestinal cancer in May 2006 and had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and numerous lymph nodes followed by chemotherapy for much of the remainder of the year. Despite the intensive treatment, he continued to perform with Marazene as they toured the Midwest in support their debut album, "MachiNation".

Marazene would go on to complete three national tours in 2007 with such acts as MUSHROOMHEAD, PSYCLON NINE, DEADSTAR ASSEMBLY, and THE HUMAN ABSTRACT as well as dozens of Midwestern regional tour dates in support, all under the banner 100% DIY.

Marazene are currently in the studio writing the follow-up to their debut album, "MachiNation", self released on 06.06.06.

Marazene multi-instrumentalist and co-founder DieTrich Thrall recently issued a studio update for the band:

"We have a couple dozen really strong song ideas and we're writing more every day. There's plenty of new material in all different stages of development and we're constantly bouncing riffs off of one another on whatever instrument the part calls for.

We're aiming for a Spring '08 Sneak Peek at live shows and other audio outlets and of course we'll keep everyone up to speed once we have things a bit more ironed out so sit tight."

  • ASCEND...

ASCEND is a new collaborative musical project between Gentry Densley Iceburn, Eagle Twin) and Greg Anderson (sunn 0))),Goatsnake, Engine Kid). Both have been making music that has crossed paths several times in the last 19 years, the most notable being during the 90s when Anderson's band Engine Kid toured with and shared a split album with Densely’s band Iceburn. During that time both were heavily experimenting with the fusion of jazz (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis, John Coltrane) and the dark behemoth tones of influences such as The Melvins, Gore, Slint, and Caspar Brotzman.

Hitting stores on May 27th, ASCEND re-visits some of the tones and moods of their past works as well as traveling into uncharted territory all done with the utmost focus on heaviness and power, with the album Ample Fire Within. Of particular note is the vocal performance by Gentry Densley. His voice is deep and ominous with a subtle Tom Waits influence within the growls and gruffness that is emoted. Anderson gushes enthusiastically: "we were extremely fortunate to have a lot of help from our friends with this recording. Andy Patterson pounded the hell out of the drums, and Steve Moore (aka Stebmo, also in Earth and often times sunn 0))) ) added some trombone (“Obelisk of Kolob”, and “Dark Matter”), organ (“Her Horse Is Thunder”, “Dark Matter”) and some amazing wurlitzer (“Amplifier Within”, “Divine”). His playing brings a dark, sophisticated jazz atmosphere to the album. On the track "V O G" we were blessed to have Bubba Dupree (Void) AND none other than Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) put down some incredible lead work!"

The entire album was mixed by Randall Dunn (Earth, sunn 0))), Kinski,) and mastered by Mell Dettmer who is turning into the "house-mastering wizardress" for the Southern Lord label.

  • SEPTEMBER MURDER: a part of Maintain Records

The German deathmetal hope SEPTEMBER MURDER have inked a deal with Maintain Records. The quintett´s EP "After Every Setting Sun" (November ´07) has drawn the attention of the press from all over Europe - and gained overwhelming positive critics. The band is tipped as one of hell´s hottest flames, hot enough to throw a barbecue among the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Entombed or Suffocation. Maintain Records now fulfilled this wish and signed the four-piece to release their full length album. The band currently is in writing-mode and is supposed to hit the studio this fall. If you like the EP, be prepared for the things that´ll be unleashed by the end of this years.

  • THE HAUNTED finish pre-production for new album, post video online, festivals confirmed!

Swedish metal innovators THE HAUNTED are back on the map with some good news, as they have just finished the pre-production for their highly anticipated new, still untitled, album. The band is soon to enter PUK studio in Denmark to start working with producer Tue Madsen (Heaven Shall Burn, Dark Tranquillity, Moonspell, etc), who has already co-operated with THE HAUNTED on their two previous albums “rEVOLVEr” and “The Dead Eye”.

Jonas Björler (Bass) reports:"Right now we're rehearsing like madmen. This is the final week before we enter the PUK studio in Denmark. Right now we have like 20+ songs, so we have a lot of material to choose from; I think we aim at putting 11 or 12 on the CD. This time around we worked 6 months on the songs, and I think that really paid off - none of the songs sound alike, and the material sounds really heavy and groovy"

As a special preview, THE HAUNTED have now posted a new video online which shows them during pre-production activities for the upcoming album. You can find the clip HERE!

Despite the upcoming At The Gates reunion tourdates, which see Jonas and Anders Björler invade Japan, North American and several prestigious European Summer festivals with their former band, THE HAUNTED will be busy playing shows as well and they have in fact just been confirmed for Spain’s Electric Weekend festival on May 31st as well as Germany’s Wacken festival on August 1st. Here are all confirmed upcoming shows of THE HAUNTED:
