- JOHN-5 – FOUNDING MEMBER OF LOSER LEAVES BAND AND ISLAND RECORDS
HOLLYWOOD – Island Records made the decision to drop the band
Loser when founding member John 5 decided to leave Loser and maintain
his position as the guitarist for Rob Zombie. “Being the founding
member of Loser, my decision to leave was not an easy one,” states
John 5. “I’ve been juggling two careers both with Loser
and Rob Zombie for over 1 year now. I found it impossible to be in two
places at once.”
With the success of Rob Zombie’s 2006 tour and the additional
dates added, this had made it impossible for John 5 to promote Loser
accordingly. In discussions, John 5 had wanted to bring in a replacement
guitarist for Loser’s live shows. Island Records was in opposition
to the suggestion as that is not “what they had signed on for”.
In that regard, Island Records chose to drop the act with the absence
of John 5. “I understand the decision from the label but feel
it could have worked out for everyone involved. I wish Joe, Glen and
Charles all the success they deserve, they are amazing guys and deserve
their shot. ”
At the current time there is no word on if the album will be released.

- OATH TO VANQUISH Sign With GRINDETHIC RECORDS
U.K.-based label Grindethic Records has announced the signing of Lebanese
extreme metallers OATH TO VANQUISH. According to a press release, "hailing
from a seemingly remote place for metal, these guys regurgitate a vicious,
bone-crushing and twisted concoction of brutaldeath garnished with gore/grind,
whilst somehow managing to subtly blend in an evil melodic tinge, all
added for good measure."
Commented guitarist/vocalist Elias van Quish: "The minions at Grindethic
are some of the nicest, most dedicated people that are still in metal
for all the right reasons - we are so excited that we have found such
a partner to help unleash our sound and fury to a worldwide audience.
Prepare to be vanquished!”
When finally reached for a comment, Rushy (of Grindethic Records infamy)
had this to utter: "The performances, songwriting and sound production
values on these lads’ debut absolutely floored us from the first
listen. And damn, it’s been a while since I last heard basslines
in a BDM album! This year is shaping up to be a great one for us, with
releases by ENTHRALLMENT (in conjunction with Spanish label Grotesque
Productions) and SARPANITUM just around the corner, and by the mighty
GORATORY and DEFEATED SANITY later this summer. Watch this space."
OATH TO VANQUISH’s debut album, “Applied Schizophrenic Science”,
was engineered by the band, with the assistance of and mastered by Colin
Davis (VILE) at Imperial Mastering. It is tentatively set for a June
release.
"Applied Schizophrenic Science" track listing:
01. Pear of Anguish
02. Dearly Beheaded
03. Funeral in F Sharp
04. Executive Onslaught
05. Toxic Bowel Manoeuvre
06. Sulphuric Semen

- THEATRE OF TRAGEDY US RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records today confirms the stateside release
of Storm, the new album from Norway's Theatre of Tragedy. Set for June
27, the album was recently released in Europe via Germany's AFM Records.
Produced by Rico Darum at Toproom Studios in Norway and mixed by Greg
Reely (Paradise Lost, Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy)
at The Green Jacket studios in British Columbia, Storm is the eagerly
anticipated follow-up to Theatre of Tragedy's popular Assembly (Nuclear
Blast) album released nearly three years ago. Introducing new vocalist
Nell Sigland (replacing Liv Kristine), the album has already found much
success on its recent European release; the album's lead single placing
on numerous national sales charts.
For fans, Storm finds a renewed band with a stronger passion and conviction
yet seen from the long-running and respected sextet. Its lavish production
remarkably enhances the combined vocal play of Sigland and Raymond Rohonyi
while the band's solid musicianship matchs any of their musicial peers.
Originally taking pointers from the more elaborate Norwegian black metal
scene, Theatre of Tragedy from the get-go displayed an artistic nature
not found among any of their then-fellow contemporaries. Their dual
harmonies and lavish arrangements thrust the band to international acclaim
with the release of their self-titled 1995 debut. Velvet Darkness They
Fear and Aegis would follow as the band found a rapidly expanding fanbase.
In 2000 the band would undergo line-up changes that would find their
sound delving further into goth and electronica.
Track listing for Storm is: Storm, Silence, Ashes and Dreams, Voices,
Fade, Begin & End, Senseless, Exile, Disintegration, Debris.
- VIKING SKULL Shows The World That They Were Born In Hell On May 16th,
2006
UK Rockers Sign To 456 ENTERPRISE
Featured On Bam Margera Presents Viva La Bands
Formed by assorted members of the Raging Speedhorn band and crew, Viking
Skull thrives on the singularly alcoholic maxim best stated by Roddy
Stone, RSH’s long time guitar tech: “It’s gonna be
easy. All we gotta do is get in, get fucked and get out.” Roddy,
lead vocalist and guitarist of Viking Skull, heads a lineup consisting
of guitarist Darren Smith, drummer Gordon Morisson and bassist Waldie.
With a ballsy swagger that fits neatly between early Black Sabbath and
latter-day Corrosion Of Conformity, Viking Skull provide solid proof
that the United Kingdom is still the undisputed home of hard rock music.
On Viking Skull’s debut full-length album, Born In Hell, inspiration
comes from the most obvious of places. The foursome from Corby, United
Kingdom, eschews a gritty, hard-driving form of hard rock fueled by
beer and whiskey with women on the brain. The true charm of Viking Skull
lies in their unabashed desire to rock, drink and womanize; all the
while churning out songs detailing their exploits. Born In Hell will
be re-released in the U.S. on May 16th, 2006. Be prepared: The Skull
has come to fuck you up.

- STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Complete Work On New Album
Canadian extremists STRAPPING YOUNG LAD have completed tracking their
highly anticipated new album, The New Black, which frontman Devin Townsend
promises to be the group's definitive release. The soon-to-be genre
defying epic will showcase a new dimension of the SYL beast that puts
an emphasis on incorporating more hooks and catchier melodies into the
group's renowned insanity, which is backed up with an abundance of devastating
guitar solos. It would be safe to say that you can expect the unexpected.
The album's U.S. touring campaign will kick off June 29th, as the group
joins the second stage lineup at Ozzfest alongside such acclaimed acts
as Atreyu, Bleeding Through and Unearth, among others. Townsend further
describes his excitement over being a part of Ozzfest and sheds some
light on their new disc: "The recording process went amazingly
well, and Strapping as a whole is really excited about this effort.
We were very inspired with the idea of doing Ozzfest, and the concept
we are running with on this record is really based around abhorring
the current music scene, yet being a part of it in some weird way. SYL
is ready to be a subversive product for the unwitting 14-year-olds to
scream along with.
"We also intend to sprinkle a little ugly around all the pretty
bands this year. You can think of us as the proverbial pubic hair in
the cheesecake of this year's festival. We are ugly, large and angry.
We have also been around longer as a band than 90% of the other bands.
Most of all, we're just really excited to be a part of Ozzfest and this
summer is going to be crazy. See you all soon."
On June 12th, Century Media Records is proud to re-release STRAPPING
YOUNG LAD's 1995 debut album Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing, which changed
the metal world forever. The re-issue features a re-mastered version
of this classic debut, 4 bonus tracks, the "S.Y.L." video
and a 12-page booklet with extended liner notes from Devin himself.
As Devin recalls, "I had finished with the Wildhearts just prior
to this [1994], and they were so anti- everything that I decided to
take a similar approach while focusing on dissonance and just being
as over-the-top as I could. Songs didn't really matter; it was just
the intensity and the vibe plus lots of humor. Screaming and laughing
are pretty close, I think, and I have just never been 'hard', so we
do what comes naturally, right? Right." So enjoy the rebirth of
a genre-defining classic!

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's most recent offering, Alien, was met with tons
of acclaim, ranging from the likes of Billboard and Stuff magazine,
who hailed the effort as "STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's best studio disc
yet," to Decibel, Metal Edge, Outburn and Revolver, among a slew
of others. The group's biggest break would come in the summer of 2005
on the inaugural Sounds of The Underground tour, which also featured
such acclaimed artists as Lamb of God, Opeth and Unearth. The group's
overly intense live performances clearly set the band well ahead of
the pack while captivating the uninitiated crowds who were immediately
drawn to the band's perfect blend of melodic industrial thrash insanity.
The word quickly spread to promoters and directly resulted in a spot
on the Transgression Tour with Fear Factory, Soilwork and Darkane later
that year.
In 2006, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD prepares to deliver their most accessible
offering yet, which Townsend also promises will still challenge their
listeners and claims is the next logical step in the group's continuous
evolution. This is the year that SYL leaves their defining mark on the
genre.

a great honour for us to support CELTIC FROST, the co-founders of black
metal, on their first shows. Back then CELTIC FROST started the black
metal era and without such bands we maybe wouldn´t even exist.
One can clearly hear that the “2nd generation” with bands
like Darkthrone, Mayhem, Emperor, Satyricon etc. was influenced by Celtic
Frost and they certainly have been a substantial influence for us!”DARK

- BACKYARD BABIES New Album & Tour!!!
Decadence has always been the cornerstone of rock n roll. From brazen
attitudes to loud riffs, rock’n’roll has always been indulgent
in life’s sinful pleasures. Naturally, it only makes sense for
rock’n’roll’s musical output to personify its ideals,
enter Backyard Babies.
Never resting on their laurels, the Babies have a new album brimming
with confidence and their patented throwback rock flair. Produced by
Nicke Andersson, guitarist of The Hellacopters, the new album, titled
“People Like People Like People Like Us,” is a celebration
of all that the Babies have been known for while giving listeners a
few new sonic treats in the process. The band: “It’s a more
dynamic album with a more modulated sound where Nicke Andersson taught
us how to ‘play together’ but at the same time it was his
restlessness that gave the album its honest and simple sound. We wrote
more intense and under a shorter period than ever before. A challenge
that proved to be just positive since you don’t have time to analyze
everything to pieces.”
So don’t be late to get the new album on CD or special gatefold
vinyl LP released via Century Media Records in Europe as follows:
GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND / BENELUX / ITALY: Friday, April 21,
2006.
HUNGARY: Wednesday, April 26, 2006.
FRANCE / SPAIN / REST OF EUROPE: Monday, April 24, 2006.
UK: Tuesday, May 2, 2006
A full version if the song “Dysfunctional Professional”
can be heard here! You can also pre-listen the entire album and watch
the video “The Mess Age (How Could I Be So Wrong)” on the
brand-new Backyard Babies homepage: http://www.backyardbabies.com
Known as real road dogs the Backyard Babies will go on tour right after
the album release. “We have never been this anxious to hit the
stages again, cause playin’ live is the only fuel this band needs
to keep on being the counterweight in a fucked up business.” Pleased
to meet you…

16. Don’t Join The Crow (EU bonus)
Lou Koller - Vocals
Pete Koller - Guitar
Armand Majidi - Drums
Craig Ahead - Bass
As a special “thank-you” for all the dedictated European
fans, the special “Celebrating 20 years” edition will feature
the bonus track “Don’t Join The Crowd”. So don’t
miss it. Per-listen to the opening track “Take The Night Off”
on www.centurymedia.com/eu.
You can clebrate with the band the whole summer. First run of live-shows
are already announced. Armand (drums): “Next up is Eastern Europe,
and a few countries and cities we've never played before. Agnostic Front
tells us great things about places like Bulgaria and Serbia, and we're
excited to see them with our own eyes.”
If you miss them on tour, be sure to fix your TV-set (not only for the
world-championship): “This [March] weekend we're taking a trip
to Boston to shoot a video for 'Take the Night Off' with our friend
Ian McFarland, who used to play bass for Blood for Blood. He's a pro
director now, and it's cool to be working with someone who understands
us. Some directors we've worked with in the past didn't have any clue
about the band or where we came from. This time it's a different story.”
And the celebration continues regarding to Armand: “Our other
plans for the year still aren't totally solid yet, and we're still waiting
to hear about the summer. August will be spent in Europe doing festivals.
What happens before and after that are still open to speculation. Please
mark the release date for Death to Tyrants on your calendars and pick
it up when you can. Please wait until then and don't swipe it on the
internet - support us so we can continue to do what we do. Thanks!“
Some of the speculations already appeared in the internet. Derrick Green
from SOIA tourmates SEPULTURA couldn’t hold back: “…
SICK OF IT ALL, we've been friends with for a really long time and that
was another tribute album and they saved the song 'Scratch the Surface'
for us, because they felt that when they wrote that song it was in the
vibe of SEPULTURA. I love these guys and it was an honor to do one of
their songs."
And also Ken Susi from UNEARTH said the band plans to record a cover
of "It's Clobberin' Time", which will appear on an upcoming
tribute to New York hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL. Do we confirm these
rumors? Hey, what is a birthday if you know the gifts before the party?
Got it.

- STARKWEATHER Song Posted
Candlelight Records has premiered "Machine Rhythm" from Starkweather's
forthcoming album, Croatoan, at the label's official My Space page.
Bring your browser to www.myspace.com/candlelightrecordsusa
to have your first listen.
Produced by Pierre Remillard (Cryptopsy), Croatoan features artwork
by renowned artist Paul Romano (Mastodon, Earth, Godflesh), and is scheduled
for a May 2 American release date.
Long regarded as one of the first bands to blend metal and hardcore,
Starkweather are still an untapped band for the masses. They have been
cited as influence to many of today's top selling bands and remain one
of the most passionate and intense bands on stage. Metal Maniacs says
on an early listen to Croatoan, "rare is a band who personify,
quite accurately, agony and despair through tranquil yet devouring movements.
One of underground metal's soon-to-be classics, hail Starkweather!"
Formed in 1990, Starkweather have several out-of-print recordings to
their credit including a limited self-titled seven-inch (Inner Rage
Records, 1993), Crossbearer (Too Damn Hype, 1994), Into the Wire (Edison
Recordings, 1995), the 1996 split seven-inch with Season to Risk (Supermodel
Records), and participation on numerous compiliation albums. Croatoan,
released in late 2005 on vinyl only (featuring exclusive artwork also
from Paul Romano) via Hypertension Records, is the band's first new
recording in over five years.
Starkweather will perform with labelmates Daylight Dies and Emperor
at New York's BB Kings Blues Club on Friday, July 14. Tickets for the
event are already sold out.

- On May 19th the prog and hard rock nostalgics of NOEKK (successor
of Empyrium) will release their second album called "The Grimalkin".
"NOEKK's music is born from total intuition. It comes to me when
I'm all alone and able to listen to my inner voice." Funghus Baldachin,
the mastermind behind German Prog Rock duo NOEKK, aims "to capture
the magic of the moment and to tell long, mad stories" with his
music. Cheating any musical expectations, he and his companion F.F.
Yuggoth have recorded three peregrinations branching out in all directions,
where "adventures are possible on every side of the road"
according to the powerful-voiced singer. But who is it that might want
to join these two musicians on their journey? "Basically, 'The
Grimalkin' is an exciting album for all fans of Prog Rock", says
Baldachin. "We branch into vintage Hard Rock, get lost in folkloristic
thickets, follow an invitation from Doom Metal and ..." -- the
versatile musician comments amused -- "we won't refrain from slimy
epic stuff either!"

Star Central in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.
This will be HIRAX’s second appearance at Minneapolis Mayhem.
Last year, the band replaced Sodom one week before the festival took

“Even though we were added to the Minneapolis Mayhem Festival
2005 at the very last minute, we were fired up to do it,” said
vocalist Katon W. De Pena. “We had just returned from a very successful
show in Tijuana, Mexico, and the band was running like a well-oiled
machine. We had high expectations for Minnesota and the show went so
well, we decided to include the entire set on our new DVD, “Thrash

- MASTODON: Cover Of METALLICA's 'Orion' Posted Online
MASTODON's cover of METALLICA's "Orion", which was recorded
for the recently released Kerrang! magazine tribute to the METALLICA
album "Master of Puppets", has been posted online at www.myspace.com/mastodon.
Also available at the same location are pictures and videos from the
recording sessions for MASTODON's new album, "Blood Mountain",
tentatively due in August via Warner Bros.
As previously reported, "Remastered" was packaged with a special
issue of Kerrang! commemorating the 20th anniversary of "Master
of Puppets". Other bands contributing to the CD include MACHINE
HEAD ("Battery"), TRIVIUM ("Master Of Puppets"),
MENDEED ("The Thing That Should Not Be"), BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
("Welcome Home (Sanitarium)"), CHIMAIRA ("Disposable
Heroes"), FIGHTSTAR ("Leper Messiah"), and FUNERAL FOR
A FRIEND ("Damage, Inc.").
MASTODON's third album, "Blood Mountain", is being recorded
with Seattle-based producer Matt Bayles (ISIS, HORSE THE BAND). The
CD will be mixed later in the month in New York by Rich Costey (AUDIOSLAVE,
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE). Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2004's
"Leviathan" include "Circle of Cysquatch", "Hunters
of the Sky", "The Sleeping Giant", "Bladecatcher",
"The Colony of Birchmen", "Pendulous Skin", "The
Siberian Divide", "Capillarian Crest", "Hand of
Stone", "Crystal Skull", "The Wolf Is Loose"
and "This Mortal Soil".
In a recent interview with MTV.com, drummer Bränn Dailor said about
the upcoming CD, "It's hard to be inside something and talk to
people about it. And it's kind of a cliché that the people in
the band think that what they're working on at the moment is the best
stuff they've ever done. But I guess that's the way that we feel. It's
just more intense, more — I mean I like everything we've ever
done. But at the moment, I'm really digging on this stuff. It's hard
for me to put into words what's different about it. It's just better."
"I hope we can start a prog revolution, because the timing's right,"
he added. "You've got a TOOL record that's coming out, an Isis
record that's coming out, a MARS VOLTA record that's coming out, a MASTODON
record that's coming out, and I hope that converges into something really
awesome for music where it doesn't become pop, but there's a little
more sharing of the pie. It would be cool if you had kids in their bedrooms
not trying to learn LINKIN PARK songs, but they're trying to learn MASTODON
songs. It's cool music that's honest and from the heart, and it's technically
challenging."

- NORTHWEST DEATHFEST 2006 COMPLETE LINEUP ANNOUNCED
SEATTLE - Headliners of the 3rd Annual Northwest Death Fest 2006, Obituary
and Sadus, will be joined by 27 death metal bands on Sunday, May 28,
at Fenix Underground in Seattle.
California bands Deeds Of Flesh and Severed Savior will co-headline
the second stage. The support bands, hailing from Seattle as well as
the Pacific Northwest, were handpicked by promoter and owner of Howitzer
Productions, Frank Hetzel.
Seattle locals In Memorium have the prestigious main stage slot before
Sadus. In Memorium’s debut recording “From Misery Come Darkness”
has been hailed as a black metal masterpiece by many journalists in
the metal community
“Last years’ Northwest Death Fest was amazing,” said
In Memorium guitarist M. Krutsinger. “Horns up to Franko of Howitzer
Productions for making it the smoothest running fest I’ve ever
been to. All of the bands stuck to their time slots. It is just one
of the many reasons we have decided to play the festival this year.
In Memorium will hit the stage full force and hopefully have a hand
at bringing the festival to the next level.”
Scorched Earth, another Seattle metal band, will play the festival for
the first time this year.
"It’s an honor to be playing the Northwest Death Fest,”
said guitarist/vocalist Terry Mcorriston. “I've been to the past
two as a fan, but this is the first year that Scorched Earth will be
playing it. We rarely play locally, so this will be a good showcase
for our live warfare. This year's fest is going to annihilate for sure."
Sadus are returning to the festival for the second year in a row. The
legendary Bay Area Thrash band is currently touring Europe in support
of their latest album “Out For Blood,” released on Mascot
Records.
"We are pumped for the chance to play up in Seattle again, said
bassist Steve DiGiorgio. “The new Sadus album is full of blood
and rage, and we expect nothing less from the insaniacs up in the Northwest.
The show last year was awesome and we are ready to come back totally
out for blood!!!"

- Guitar Virtuoso LUCA TURILLI Presents The Infinite Wonders Of Creation
Available In The U.S.A. June 6th
Best known as lead guitarist, co-composer and co-founder of symphonic
film-score metal flag bearers Rhapsody, Luca Turilli is an experienced
and accomplished musician. With his third solo album entitled The Infinite
Wonders of Creation, Turilli ends his epic trilogy. The trilogy began
in the 1999 with King of the Nordic Twilight, followed by Prophet of
the Last Eclipse, both of which commanded impressive chart positions
in Germany, as well as other countries around the world.
While the first album was lyrically and musically inspired by a fantasy
tale created by Luca, the second album represented an evolution for
Luca's “typical” sound. Lyrically, the album was influenced
by one of his favorite science-fiction movies: Event Horizon, directed
by Paul W.S. Anderson.
In order to turn the mystic atmosphere of the cosmic landscapes into
music, Luca started incorporating some unique and experimental elements
to his music, with an array of futuristic and electronic sounds.
After exploring and exhausting the topics of the past and the future,
Luca’s vision led him to create a musical representation of the
present in order to complete the trilogy. With The Infinite Wonders
of Creation, Turilli composed a symphony dedicated to Mother Nature;
a topic that has inspired and invigorated him musically and philosophically.
Immediately capturing the imagination of the listener with atmospheric
sounds and continuing to draw them in with operatic female vocals and
symphonic instrumentation, it becomes immediately clear that The Infinite
Wonders Of Creation is an intimate and abstract album covering a wide
range of themes: life, death, good, evil, the cosmos and philosophy.
Songs like “Mother Nature” and “Altitudes” display
the dual elegance and power of Turilli’s compositions.
The Infinite Wonders Of Creation marks the debut of Luca’s dual
musical talents: as a guitar virtuoso and also as a prodigious keyboardist.
Turilli is joined by the same band members who performed on the two
previous albums: vocalist Olaf Hayer, bassist Sascha Paeth and drummer
Robert Hunecke-Rizzo and guest vocalist Bridget Fogle.
The Infinite Wonders of Creation presents the logical extension of Luca’s
well known musical attributes, both musically and lyrically; a voyage
into the inner workings of artist, thinking man, and maestro. This album
both wraps up one chapter in Luca’s career and points to magnificent
possibilities in his future.
Track Listing For The Infinite Wonders Of Creation:
1) Secrets Of Forgotten Ages
2) Mother Nature
3) Angels Of The Winter Dawn
4) Altitudes
5) The Miracle Of Life

- Luca Turilli’s DREAMQUEST Presents LOST HORIZONS On June 27th
Guitar virtuoso Luca Turilli, best known for his work as lead guitarist,
co-composer and co-founder in film score metal band Rhapsody, has presented
us with his new band: Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest. Not wishing this
to be viewed just as a side project, Luca asserts that Dreamquest is
an additional outlet for the abundance of overflowing musical ideas
of this prolific composer. Fear not Rhapsody fans, Dreamquest, while
an entirely separate band, will not interfere with Rhapsody’s
progress. The debut album, Lost Horizons introduces a new style and
technique to Luca’s already mighty repertoire, enriched by modern
elements: new metal, opera, techno-electronic music and gothic-symphonic
atmospheres.
Lost Horizons displays Luca’s previously unknown ability to call
forth majestic tones from the keyboard. The unique sounds produced by
Luca’s instrumentation bring forth musical landscapes and haunting
melodies, invoking images of sirens and nymphs. Luca’s passion
for the keyboard is clear. Before founding Rhapsody with keyboardist
Alex Staropoli, Luca had studied piano. However, Rhapsody’s immediate
success had encouraged Luca to focus his efforts on the guitar, an instrument
that he had already mastered. Three years ago, Luca felt inspired to
return to the keyboard, influenced by the melancholic melodies of great
artists such as Chopin and Alexander Scriabin. Luca Turilli’s
Dreamquest gives Luca the opportunity to unleash the pianist inside
of him.
Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest is the fulfillment of a dream that Luca
has had in mind for many years and he is looking forward to the opportunity
to perform Dreamquest material in a live forum as soon as possible.
The music on Lost Horizons combines powerful metal instrumentation with
angelic, operatic, female vocals to create a sound that might best be
described as 'Symphonic Electro-Metal'. The first single “Virus,”
is a prime example of the majestic musical flavor that Dreamquest is
made of, while the operatic “Sospiro Divino” showcases the
boundless possibilities presented by this exciting new band. Although
favorable comparisons to popular acts are inevitable, make no mistake:
Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest is a fresh and unique experience.
Track Listing For Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest Lost Horizons:
1) Introspection
2) Virus
3) Dreamquest
4) Black Rose
5) Lost Horizon

- BLUDGEON LET OFF SOME STEAM WITH World Controlled
Available Through Magic Circle Music On June 27th
Bludgeon is a unique metal entity from Chicago that is not afraid to
cause mayhem. The first band signed to Magic Circle Music, Bludgeon
takes extreme metal by the balls and doesn’t let go. Their sophomore
album, “World Controlled” is a brutal assault on the senses
that is sure to leave a lasting impression on fans of death, thrash,
hardcore and speed metal.
Bludgeon has earned several distinctions in their relatively young career.
When Manowar bassist and Magic Circle Music founder Joey DeMaio discovered
the band, he agreed to produce their debut album, Crucify The Priest
- an honor never before bestowed upon a band other than his own - and
signed them to his label. DeMaio then introduced the band to Metal Blade
Records CEO Brian Slagel, who recognized that the band had immense potential
and agreed to distribute their debut album worldwide. Such signs of
confidence from metal elite speak volumes about Bludgeon.
The Bludgeon beast is no stranger to touring. Having performed at the
Metal Meltdown III in Asbury Park, NJ and as support act to the legendary
Manowar on the Warriors Of The World Tour 2002, Bludgeon is a band that
has spread the crusade of metal.
On the new album, World Controlled, Bludgeon further evolves the sound
and attitude that helped them to make such an impressive start. By incorporating
hardcore influences into their already powerful death/thrash metal sound,
the band has reached a new level of anger and brutality. Vocalist/guitarist
Marc Duca explains, “I always write what I feel; half the record
was written when I was going through pain and suffering. But I don’t
see that as a bad thing.” Songs like “Carnage Begins”
and “Consumed By Anger” illustrate the thoughts and feelings
of a band that faces the challenges of everyday life with the aggression
and persistence needed to come out on top. “You have to suffer
to move forward. It’s like you have to prove how faithful you
are.”

- ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET second strike in the making!
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, the new Swedish band featuring
former THE CROWN vocalist Johan Lindstrand, have commenced the songwriting
process for the follow-up to their debut album, 21st Century Killing
Machine.
"[I have] great inspiration right now and I'm writing lyrics constantly
and it feels so great," Lindstrand writes on the band's web site.
"I have now lyrics for half an album, but the hard part will, of
course, be to arrange it with music, but it will be fun as hell. Some
riffs have been popping up as well, and the other guys are writing lots
of good stuff too, so the next one will definitely be more split up
when it comes to the songwriting. We are a band of five, and everyone
has equal thinking and that's very promising for the whole process."
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET will be performing throughout Europe
on the Neckbreakers Ball tour with labelmates HYPOCRISY, SOILWORK, AMORPHIS,
and SCAR SYMMETRY.
