- BLUT AUS NORD NEAR COMPLETION ON NEW ALBUM
French metallers Blut Aus Nord continue to work on their highly anticipated
new album, M.o.R.T. (Metamorphosis of RealisticTheories). Expected
for release early fall, the album follows the band's critically-acclaimed
The Work Which Transforms God; reissued mid-2005 in the US with the
value-added ep Thematic Emanation of Archetypal Multiplicity (a recording
previously only available in Europe). Song titles for M.o.R.T. as of
press time include (not in order) Ruins of the Genesis (Antiparticles),
Dis-Harmonization of all Visual Echoes, Fusion With the Zero, Samsaric
Ocean, The Meditation of the Ghost (Samadhi), Le Cercle de Ceux Qui
Pleurent and Alienation of the Orphans.
In further news, Appease Me Records, the label owned by the members
of Blut Aus Nord and marketed/distributed internationally in cooperation
with Candlelight Records, confirms June 13 as the American release date
for the second album from noise merchants Spektr. The Near Death
Experience is the domestic debut for this aggro-industrial-black metal
duo. San Francisco's Aquarius Records says, "one of those
rare records that is so fractured, demented and wonderfully bizarre
that it has you constantly checking to see what the hell it is you are
listening to."
Formed in 2000, Spektr combine sounds unlike any other. This studio
project creates sounds that are harsh, disturbing, raw in all matter
of sense, but one that is still highly complex and sophisticated within
a low-fi environment. Much like friends and labelmates Blut Aus Nord,
their music is a voyage through an apocalyptic field littered with torn
fragments of Bathory, Neurosis, Khold, Emperor, Swans and more.
Upcoming releases from Appease Me/Candlelight Records include Monolithe/Interlude
Premier, Comity/As Everything is a Tragedy (Europe only release). The
label is also home to Forest Silence, Bunkur, Eternal Majesty, Overmars
and P.H.O.B.O.S.

- ZAO LEAVES FERRET TOUR
Injury Forces Lead Singer To Fly Home; Rest Of Bands Will Continue As
Scheduled Zao have been forced to drop off of the remaining dates on
the Ferret Music Under The Gun Tour due to an injury sustained by frontman
Daniel Weyandt. Co-Headliners Madball and Remembering Never along with
support acts The Banner and Scarlet will continue the tour as scheduled.
Weyandt broke four bones in his left-hand in a back-stage mishap that
also also involved a large cut that exposed one bone for over 12 hours
and became infected. Had he gone to the hospital any later than he did
he could have lost his hand entirely. Three different doctors ordered
the singer, who strongly wished to complete the tour, to return home
immediately and visit a specialist.
As an accomplished tattoo artist, Weyandt's injury poses a unique problem.
Fortunately by following doctor's orders he is expected to make a full
recovery.
"We can't apologize more strongly to the other bands and especially
our fans who were planning on seeing us on the remaining dates,"
said guitarist Scott Mellinger, who has stood with Dan in Zao nearly
a decade. "We want nothing more than for Dan to get better and
we fully intend to crush once again with Dan on the Demon Hunter tour
this summer."Zao is set to release their new album The Fear Is
What Keeps Us Here on June 13. Recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, The
Pixies, Neurosis, High On Fire), the album is fast, edgy, raw, abrupt
and highly-energized, recalling the rock n' roll angst of Self-Titled
with the atmosphere of Liberate. The band will embark on a nationwide
tour with Demon Hunter, Spoken, August Burns Red and Becoming The Archetype
the day after the album's release, to be preceded by a handful of headlining
shows.

- ROADRUNNER RECORDS SIGNS DRAGONFORCE
Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the signing of UK power metal
masters, DRAGONFORCE. The band's Roadrunner US debut, INHUMAN RAMPAGE,
was released in the UK, mainland Europe and Japan on 1/9/06 to critical
raves and, in nearly 3 months, 30K in sales.
Make no mistake, this is a revolutionary album, one that will herald
a sea of change in metal. While other bands want to be bigger than
Metallica, DRAGONFORCE have the capacity to be bigger than Star Wars.
-METAL HAMMER MAGAZINE
Since forming in London in 1999, DRAGONFORCE has taken UK, European
and Japanese audiences by storm. The brainchild of guitarists -
Hong Kong born Herman Li and New Zealander Sam Totman - along with South
African Emigre ZP Theart on vocals, DRAGONFORCE (then called Dragon
Heart) were quick to carve their name in stone with metal fans.
The balance of the band - Dave Mackintosh (British), Vadim Pruzhanov
(Ukranian) and Frederic Leclercq (French) - make DRAGONFORCE a true
meeting of great international musical minds. 2003's debut album VALLEY
OF THE DAMNED, set the stage and standard for a sound brimming with
speed, technicality, catchiness and most importantly a lot of fun.
Along the trail of the 2005 European tour with Iron Maiden, fans started
turning up at gigs, plastic swords and axes in hand, ready to revel
in a sound as serious in approach as it is completely over the top.
Now with the band's third album, INHUMAN RAMPAGE, and a deal for North
America with Roadrunner, DRAGONFORCE are set to become a major force
on the worldwide metal scene. You can not liken DRAGONFORCE to
anything that has come before in metal, states Roadrunner A&R man
Mike Gitter. Listening to DRAGONFORCE is almost overwhelming.
The sheer energy, vibe and audacity of it all& every chord just
oozes with the spirit of triumph!
As a new band, I was thrilled when we toured Japan on our debut album.
When we were chosen to tour with Iron Maiden on our second album last
year, I was equally fired up. Now, the most exciting of them all is
signing with Roadrunner Records for our new album INHUMAN RAMPAGE! says
Herman Li. We know our fans in North America have been waiting
a long time for us. Here we come!
Here they come, indeed. Prepare for the onslaught - INHUMAN RAMPAGE,
due out in North America on Roadrunner Records in the summer of 2006!

June
NOVEMBERS DOOM are scheduled to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's
The Pale Haunt Departure (on THE END RECORDS) on June 16th, 2006. Once
again, the production team will consist of Chris Djuricic for tracking
and Dan SwanO to mix the final recording. Mastering will again be handled
by James Murphy.
In a statement about the upcoming studio work, the band says: "Consistency
and quality are very important to us, to insure that anyone who was
a fan of the previous CD, will once again be able to comfortably expect
nothing less then a stellar production. Chris Djuricic, Dan Swano and
James Murphy were the perfect choice for The Pale Haunt Departure and
the perfect compliment to NOVEMBERS DOOM. We're honored to be working
with them once again."
"Working hard on the new material, we've reached the final stage
of pre-production, creating well rounded, and a natural progression
of songs, which continue where The Pale Haunt Departure ends. Always
adding new elements to our sound, there will be a few surprises mixed

- INBORN SUFFERING SIGNS WITH SOUND RIOT
We are proud for have signed INBORN SUFFERING, this young and talented
French band. They play a melodic and dark Doom Metal in the vein of
the gods of the English Doom Metal. Their full-length album titled “Wordless
Hope” features one hour of very well inspired orchestration in
pure melancholy. It is full of beauty, sadness and sorrow where such
fantastic symphonies can to be compared with classic albums like ANATHEMA’s
“The Silent Enigma” and MY DYING BRIDE’s “Turn
Loose the Swans”. There is utterly mournful string arrangements
wind around the slow Doom metal as well as some passages of violin,
piano and female vocals were added perfectly. Of course, the vocals
are deep and expressive grunts but sometimes spoken and sometimes-screamed
vocals. This is wonderful masterpiece of Doom Metal like the former
days. Wait for this album in middle of 2006. For more info, visit: http://www.inborn-suffering.tk
- Century Media's MAROON --- Takin' on the Hardcore scene
MAROON's sound offers not only a heavyweight mix of brutal hardcore
infused with metal-riffs, but also displays the band's political awareness
and involvement in an alternative life-style. Nordhausen, Germany's
vegan straight edge five-piece formed in early 1998 with heavy influences
from new school as well as straight edge bands like Earth Crisis, Morning
Again and Despair, and combined these influences with their love for
metal acts such as At The Gates, The Haunted, Iron Maiden, Metallica,
Slayer, Sepultura, Dismember or Unleashed.
- CRONION --- Oystein G. Brun (Borknagar) kick-ass side project
Borknagar’s main songwriter Øystein G. Brun and Swedish
multi-instrumentalist Mr. V (a.k.a. Vintersorg) herein deliver a challenging
personal journey of the soul.
The band infuse their solidly metal roots with an exploration of uncharted
atmospheric territories. Human near death experiences and emotional
extremes inspire lyrics while an atmospherically desolate arctic landscape
is visually presented throughout.
An authentic winter manifesto, recorded in snowstorms with -4° F,
the album incorporates elements from ‘70s art-rock to current
Nordic black metal, melodic and experimental.

to complete the line-up.
Arch Enemy, fronted by Angela Gossow, will give a proper wake up call
to the hungover metalheads on Sunday afternoon. Their previous visit
to Tuska on 2003 was met with dumbfounded and ecstatic response: they

DragonForce. The band have developed their expression, based on mind
blowing speed and accuracy, to the edge of perfection. This will be

we’ve become accustomed to in the last few years. For people looking
to buy one-day-tickets, Tuska-Organization apologizes for the fact we
haven’t published the exact schedule yet. However, giving out
unfinished schedules, uncertain and constantly changing information
has never been the policy of this festival. Three-day ticket costs 72

- STRAPPING YOUNG LAD: In Mixing Mode
Canadian extremists STRAPPING YOUNG LAD have commenced the mixing process
for their new album, "The New Black", for a tentative July
release via Century Media Records. The follow-up to last year's "Alien"
was recorded at the Armoury and Profile studios in the band's hometown
of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Commented guitarist Jed Simon: "Mike Fraser is doing a fantastic
job, and the mixes are sounding precise, well-defined, and just amazing!
It's a real treat to hear everything sitting so well in the mix. Everything
is on track, and this has been a first-rate recording experience. All
eight cylinders of this MF are humming nicely. Looking forward to getting
this show on the road."
As previously reported, Century Media Records will re-release STRAPPING
YOUNG LAD's 1995 debut album, "Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing",
in Europe on June 12. The re-issue features a re-mastered version of
this classic debut, four bonus tracks, the "S.Y.L." video
and a 12-page booklet with extended liner notes from STRAPPING YOUNG

Sweden based metal band BLINDED COLONY [http://www.blindedcolony.com]
have inked a deal with Pivotal Rockordings. The band will enter Sound
Palace Studios later this month to begin the recording process of their
sophomore effort. An album title has not been picked yet. BLINDED COLONY
was formed in 2000 by guitarists Johan Blomström, Tobias
Olsson, and vocalist Niklas Svensson. In 2003, the band released their
debut album, “Divine” through Italy’s Scarlet Records.
The following year BLINDED COLONY parted ways with both Scarlet Records
and vocalist Niklas Svensson. In 2005 Johan Schuster (SKÖRDA) took
over vocal duties and the band cut a demo, which caught the attention
of Pivotal Rockordings. The tracks “In Here” and “Aarons
Sons” can be heard at the band’s website [http://www.blindedcolony.com]
or on the band’s Myspace page [http://www.myspace.com/blindedcolony].
More information about the release will be made available in the near
future.

- BUILD UP TO EMPEROR FAREWELL
Philadelphia: Time is drawing near for the first of final series of
performances from Norway's Emperor. With tickets for the band's April
14 headlining appearance at the annual Inferno Festival and July 14
performance at New York's B.B. Kings Blues Club already sold out, fans
are urged to purchase tickets for the remaining shows before opportunity
passes.
Announced in early December, Emperor will make four final performances
on US soil, adding to their only tour of the country in support of IX
Equilibrium after the album's original stateside release. Limited tickets
remain for the band's July 13 show in New York and both Los Angeles
shows are selling at an impressive rate. "We are very excited to
do these shows in the U.S.," said vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn in
a previous statement. "We have had a strong following there for
a long time. Remembering our previous U.S. tour, I am confident that
these exclusive shows too will be a memorable experience for both ourselves
and fans."
Forming in 1991, Emperor recordings have sold hundreds of thousands
worldwide. Their impact on black/extreme metal ranks them as one of
the genre's most influential. Respected by musician, fan and critic
alike, Emperor recorded their final album, Prometheus: The Discipline
of Fire & Demise, in 2001 shortly thereafter announcing they were
disbanding (with Samoth and Trym continuing on in new band Zyklon; Ihsahn
contributing to band project Peccatum and his soon to be released first
solo record). Kerrang's Dom Lawson called Prometheus, "a staggering
masterwork; a fitting testament to the musical genius." In late
2004, Candlelight reissued each of Emperor's four genre-defining albums
- Wrath of the Tyrants, In the Nightside Eclipse, Anthems to the Welkin
at Dusk and IX Equilibrium. Each album reworked with additional bonus
footage and material unavailable previously on both European and US-licensed
versions. All records available in stores nationwide.
In related news, momentum continues to build on the April 18 release
date of The Adversary, the solo debut from Ihsahn. Recorded at Notodden-based
Symphonique Studios and mixed at Juke Joint Studio, the The Adversary
features performing contribution from drummer Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar,
Spiral Architect) and guest vocal from Garm from Ulver. Metal Manics
calls The Adversary a "fluid piece of work." Kerrang says
"a multi-layered and relentlessly fascinating work of dark metallic
artistry." Revolver adds, "spell-binding - brimming with classical,
goth, prog and 80's metal passages."
Disintegrate, the third album from Zyklon, will see US release on May
16. The band will perform (alongside Emperor and US labelmates Keep
of Kalessin, Myrkskog, Susperia, Khold, The Deviant, Manngard, Witchcraft,
and Mardu) at Inferno Festival and will soon begin work on the album's
first planned video.

- GERMAN POWER-METAL PIONEERS HELLOWEEN TO RELEASE DELUXE EXPANDED EDITIONS
OF 'WALLS OF JERICHO,' 'PINK BUBBLES GO APE,' 'CHAMELEON ON APRIL 25TH,
2006
'MASTER OF THE RINGS,' 'THE TIME OF THE OATH' AND 'BETTER THAN RAW'
TO FOLLOW ON MAY 16TH, 2006
BONUS RARITIES INCLUDE MINI-ALBUM/EP/COMPILATION TRACKS, B-SIDES, REMIXES
AND LIVE VERSIONS
Germany's Helloween was one of the most influential heavy metal bands
to launch out of Europe in the 1980s. In fact Helloween, which formed
in Hamburg in 1982, pioneered the popular subgenre known as power metal.
Six of Helloween's most interesting, transitional albums -- 'Walls Of
Jericho,' 'Pink Bubbles Go Ape,' 'Chameleon,' 'Master Of The Rings,'
'The Time Of The Oath' and 'Better Than Raw' -- are being reissued as
remastered, deluxe expanded edition CDs by Sanctuary Records on April
25, 2006. Bonus tracks include rare B-sides, remixes and live versions.
'Walls Of Jericho,' 'Chameleon,' 'Master Of The Rings' and 'The Time
Of The Oath' are two-CD sets while 'Pink Bubbles Go Ape' and 'Better
Than Raw' are each one fully packed CD. All six releases include informative
liner notes with essays, new interviews with guitarist Michael Weikath,
lyrics and photos.
'Walls Of Jericho' was originally released in late 1985. It was Helloween's
first full-length album following the appearance of the mini-album 'Helloween'
earlier that year. In addition to 'Walls Of Jericho' itself, this two-CD
reissue also includes the five songs from 'Helloween' and a track from
the picture-disc version, two songs from 1984's compilation album/sampler
'Death Metal,' 1986's 'Judas' EP and two remixes from 2002's 'Treasure
Chest.'
'Pink Bubbles Go Ape' hit the streets in 1991 and it was Helloween's
first album with guitarist Roland Grapow, who had replaced Kai Hansen.
'Chameleon' followed in 1993 and this experimental effort was the final
album with vocalist Michael Kiske.
'Master Of The Rings' appeared in 1994 and it marked the debut of vocalist
Andi Deris.
'The Time Of The Oath' was issued in 1996 and it is generally regarded
as containing the band's strongest, most cohesive set of songs since
the mid-1980s classics 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys, Pt. 1' and 'Keeper
Of The Seven Keys, Pt. 2.'
'Better Than Raw' came out in 1998 and it found Helloween adding progressive
elements as well as touches of neo-classical and neo-black metal.

- STUCK MOJO Guitarist: New Album Will Be 'Risky, Honest, But 100% MOJO'
STUCK MOJO guitarist Rich Ward has defended the band's decision to utilize
several guest guest vocalists — including female singer Christie
Cook (MySpace.com page) — on the band's upcoming CD, which is
currently being recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, U.K. with
producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS).
In a posting on Ward's official forum, a fan by the name of "Z.A.C."
questioned the logic in using Cook's vocals on the CD, writing, "She's
not bad or anything but on a MOJO record? Why? MOJO's not LACUNA COIL
or EVANESCENCE or whoever, SEETHER with Amy Lee. I really am having
a hard time seeing the point."
A short time later, Ward responded with the following: "You may
hate this record! It is the best vocal performance of Bonz' life, it's
the best songwriting of any of the previous records and it's shaping
up to be the best-sounding as well. The fact is that ALL of us in the
band LOVE this record and we hope that you will too. But.... some of
the tracks are a departure and take the risk of making some MOJO fans
ask WHY? Anyone who has followed us through the 17 years that we have
been making music, has seen us start off as a funk rock band and then
spend each album experimenting. With every record we release, someone
always liked the last one we did better. That's the risk any musician
takes by trying to evolve, always moving, so as to not have moss grow
on you. Think about the huge changes from 'Snappin' Necks' to 'Pigwalk'
to 'Rising', then to 'Declaration of a Headhunter'. All tremendously
different albums, but all MOJO albums. 'Southern Born Killers' will
be no different. Risky, honest, but 100% MOJO.
"Christie Cook has an amazing voice and her parts I wrote specifically
for her. I always had Donnie [Hamby, DOUBLEDRIVE] sing on our albums
because I'm a fan of his. The same goes for Christie. She is brilliant
on the record, it may not be your cup of tea, but nonetheless brilliant.
My hope is that you and every MOJO fan will like the record, but you
and many others may not. Remember that in ten or twenty years, you and
I may not be pals, but I will still look back of the record I made in
2006, as a statement of who I was at that moment. That's why they call
them records. With us, what you see is what you get. Hopefully, that's
why you're here. No fad jumping, no fashion show, no wannabees, no get
rich quick bandwagon jumping. You get our record, the one WE, STUCK
MOJO, wanted to make."
Joining Ward and rapper/frontman Bonz in STUCK MOJO's current lineup
are FOZZY/DUKE bassist Sean Delson and the band's latest addition, drummer
Eric Sanders.
- GUITARIST GLENN ROGERS RETURNS TO THE NEW LINEUP OF HIRAX /
FIRST-EVER NEW YORK PERFORMANCE IN MAY
LOS ANGELES - HIRAX vocalist Katon W. De Pena has announced lead guitarist
Glenn Rogers has rejoined HIRAX. Lead guitarist Lance Harrison, bassist
Steve Harrison and drummer Fabricio Raveli complete the new lineup.
“I wanted to make some changes for a while,” said De Pena.
“The only other band member that I saw eye to eye with on what
direction HIRAX should be going was Glenn. We both really love playing
heavy thrash metal and we know what HIRAX should sound like.”
“Katon and I began talking again after he mailed a copy of the
“Thrash Til Death” DVD to me,” said Glenn Rogers.
“My heart has always been into HIRAX; and after our meeting, we
found out that we're both still on the same page. So we decided it was
in our best interest to put all the bullshit behind us and move forward.”
“The Harrison brothers are local Los Angeles/Orange County musicians
who are veterans of the heavy metal scene,” said De Pena. “Lance
Harrison was our guitar tech so he knows what we are all about. He is
a great addition to the band. His brother Steve knows how to play his
instrument and comes from the Jaco Pastorius, Cliff Burton, Steve Harris
school of bass playing. He is perfect for what we do. Our newest member
is Fabricio Ravelli from Brazil. He is dedicated to metal and had been
following our music for years. Fabrico is a well known musician back
in South America and relocated to California in order to peruse his
career in music. We are privileged to have him as a member of HIRAX.”
HIRAX is currently working on new material for their next record to
be titled “Assassins Of War.” The record was planned to
be an EP, however, it has morphed into a full-length because of the
amount of material that Rogers and the Harrison brothers have been writing.
One of the first dates for the new lineup of HIRAX will be in Long Island
City, New York, on May 13, headlining a show for Metal Kingdom Records’
2nd Anniversary. This will be the band’s first-ever New York show.
“Not only am I excited about “Assassins Of War, I am looking
forward to playing shows with these guys,” said De Pena. “They
are TRUE ROAD DOGS!! They are willing to travel and sleep on floors
if that’s what it takes. They are hungry like I am and are willing
to go the extra mile to play our music for the fans- no matter what
country and no matter if they are rich or poor. All we care about is
METAL!!”
Live Dates:

- THE ILLUMINATI’S FULL-LENGTH DEBUT SET FOR JUNE RELEASE
On Borrowed Time, the full-length debut from Toronto boogie-rockers
THE ILLUMINATI, will be released in America on June 28. The trio –
who just wrapped up a U.S. tour alongside The Hellacopters and Nebula
that included a stop at South By Southwest – will continue touring
before and after the album’s release.
THE ILLUMINATI have recently received extensive critical acclaim for
their self-titled EP, a six-track, 16-minute gem released last fall.
The new issue of Revolver praises its “swinging roadhouse rock,”
while Outburn salutes their “rock anthems infused with jazz n’
blues parts, as well as rip-roarin’ solos.”
The U.S. pressing of On Borrowed Time will include the music video for
album track “Goin’ Down,” as well as a bonus audio
and video track culled from the EP, “On My Way Back Home…Again”
(MP3). In its review, All Music Guide calls the song – a staple
of the group’s live set – “probably the defining piece
on the EP, a rowdy and hell-raising tune that fuses rock, prog and hillbilly.”
The Illuminati EP was only a proverbial glimpse through the keyhole,
however – a mere hint of what this band was capable. On Borrowed
Time finds The Illuminati’s doctrine of musicality fully realized,
with profound and melodic compositions hurled headlong into visceral,
even sleazy, three-minute rock epics. Sneaky details – moments
of metal-blues fusion, impeccably written noodley jazz codas –
recall a time before today’s genre-bound constraints. Melodic
and exploratory yet fast and mean, the group offers a refreshing return
to pretense-free virtuosity, conjuring wild specters of rock n’
roll’s greatest legacies – and giving BW&BK reason to
say that “the buzz is certifiably justified.”
It’s time to return to a sense of wonder. It’s time for
The Illuminati.

- FIREBALL MINISTRY TO RESUME CRUSADING
Two-week tour alongside Disturbed kicks off May 20
The Los Angeles-based hard rock quartet FIREBALL MINISTRY will soon
return to the road for a series of shows alongside multi-platinum rockers
Disturbed. The groups – who performed a sold-out California show
together in January – will tour America and Canada for two weeks
beginning on May 20. These will be Disturbed’s final North American
shows prior to their summer stint on the main stage of OzzfestThe trek
marks FIREBALL MINISTRY’s first tour of 2006. The group criss-crossed
America no fewer than five times late last year in support of their
acclaimed new album, Their Rock Is Not Our Rock. Then, two nationwide
treks with CKY book-ended a cross-country jaunt with Opeth, Pelican
and Nevermore; those were followed by a string of dates with H.I.M.,
Skindred and Finch (the inaugural “Viva La Bands” tour),
and another series of shows with Clutch. The group also supported metal
legends Judas Priest at a Michigan concert before capping off the year
with a nationally televised performance on NBC’s “Last Call
With Carson Daly.”
“We took a rest, but now we’re back to get you drunk and
make you deaf,” says guitarist/vocalist James A. Rota.
Before the Disturbed run kicks off, FIREBALL MINISTRY will be headlining
a hometown show at The Troubadour on May 4.
In other FIREBALL news, the group recently recorded a rendition of the
Joe Walsh song “Turn The Stone” for the second volume of
Small Stone Records’ Sucking The ‘70s compilation. In 2002,
the band appeared alongside Clutch, Alabama Thunderpussy and Spirit
Caravan on the first installment, covering UFO’s “Doctor,
Doctor.”
Meanwhile, the video for Their Rock… standout “Sundown”
has received regular airplay on MTV2’s “Headbangers Ball”
in recent weeks. It can be viewed at both the band’s website (www.fireballministry.com)
and the website of their North American record label, Liquor and Poker
Music (www.liquorandpokermusic.com).

- OUTBURST - NEW SIGNING
Outburst are a young and exciting Dutch band that has been stirring
up media attention for the past few years on the strenght of a handful
of particularly well recieved mini albums and their impressive live
showdowns. The band is musically comparable with acts such as Shadows
Fall, The Haunted, Testament, Carcass & Exodus, but their sound
is not a poor copy-cat attempt at Thrash/Death, but a brutal and energetic
collumnation of their afforementioned influences. They have supported
such acts as Anthrax, Testament, Death Angel, Nuclear Assault, Arch
Enemy, Darkane, Tankard and many more and have performed at their local
edition of Ozzfest back in 2002, on the strength of which they were
invited to play the Milwaukee Metalfest (USA) in 2003.
Black Lotus Records proudly announces the addition of this superb band
to it's roster and the release of their newest effort "Fair and
Balanced" this June. Apart from a plethora of killer tracks - the
afforementioned album features the vocal talents of 2 guest singers,
namely Lenzig from Cephalic Carnage and Eric from Textures. Get ready
- because this June is gonna be way "hotter" than the last.Watch
this space for details as they unfold.

recording a new full length album for From Beyond Productions. To be

- CATTLE DECAPITATION Title of new album announced, search for new drummer,
and more!
Humans of earth:
It is now time to fill everyone in on the GORY details of late…
Cattle Decapitation is happy to announce Karma.Bloody.Karma as the title
of the next record.
NO, there is not any religious significance of the title. NO, the name
does not imply that we’re “crazy vegans” trying to
push our lifestyle onto people (as a lot of gabbing internet idiots
like to pigeonhole us as). It is simply about the “greatest natural
disaster of all time,” humanity, and revenge for its effect on
this planet. This will be the most nihilistic, pessimistic and hateful
record we’ve ever done lyrically, and musically you can expect,
what one of our friends has said perfectly about it, a very “schizophrenic”
release! Imagine the Caninus split material, just longer in every way.
Karma.Bloody.Karma features guest appearances by Jo ey Karam (The Locust)
and Jo hn Wiese (Sunn0))), Bastard Noise) and was produced by Billy
Anderson (Swans, Mr. Bungle, Melvins). Available July 2006!
Here’s the goddamn track list:

5. The Carcass Derrick

*CATTLE DECAPITATION DRUMMER SEARCH!!!
As of March, 2006 Michael Laughlin has left Cattle Decapitation for
personal reasons. Unfortunately, this leaves us in the predicament of
trying to fulfill our upcoming tour obligations without a drummer. Therefore
we are asking drummers that would be interested in filling in for our
upcoming tours with Necrophagist and From a Second Story Window (with
the potential of becoming a permanent member)to submit a recording (audio
or video)of themselves playing either the song No Future off of our
split with Caninus and/or Reduced to Paste from Humanure. Let it be
clear that we are not looking for creative interpretations of the songs.
A calypso version of "Reduced to Paste" is not necessary.
We would like for prospective drummers to be able to play hit for hit
what is being performed on the above recordings. Either you have it
or you don't. Sloppy double-bass or slow blasting is not acceptable.
Our live set will be approximately 35 minutes a night for the aforementioned
tours, so applicants should be prepared for a barrage of learning over
the course of the next five weeks. Basically, we need a human drum machine.
We plan to have 5-6 brand new unreleased songs in our set in addition

- KISS, JUDAS PRIEST, DEF LEPPARD To Be Honored By VH1
According to The Associated Press, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame looks
to be getting some competition.
VH1 announced Thursday (April 6) that it will debut the "VH1 Rock
Honors" next month to pay homage to the gods of hard rock. The
inaugural honorees are KISS, QUEEN, DEF LEPPARD and JUDAS PRIEST.
The ceremony, to take place May 25 in Las Vegas, will pay tribute to
hard-rock legends much like the Rock Hall of Fame does, with "spoken
tributes, filmed packages and performances by some of today's hottest
rock acts as well as the legends themselves."
VH1 has aired the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies the
past few years.
"VH1 Rock Honors" will air May 31. It's not the first genre
to get the tribute treatment from the network; last week VH1 announced
plans for its third annual "Hip-Hop Honors", which will air
in October.
- IRON MAIDEN Singer BRUCE DICKINSON To Release 'Anthology' DVD In June
Sanctuary Visual Entertainment has set a June 19 release date for IRON
MAIDEN frontman Bruce
Dickinson's solo DVD, entitled "The Anthology". Check out
the DVD cover art here.
Dickinson had previously told Brazilian magazine Roadie Crew that the
DVD is "about four hours in length."
Dickinson is currently in the studio with IRON MAIDEN and producer Kevin
Shirley working on the band's new album, tentatively due in October.
- The new KATAGORY V album, "The Rising Anger" is being pushed
back one month.
According to Nightmare Records and Katagory V, the album has been pushed
back one month to May 23rd.
A word from the band about the delay: "Due to some unseen circumstances
during mastering and the time frame of when the CD would come out of
production, both the band and the lable have collectively decided to
push the album back one month."
Bassist Dustin Mitchell elaborates, "By the time the album got
out of the plant, those who have pre-ordered the album from the lable
directly, as well as any other vendors offering pre-orders, would not
get their copies until the week after the April 25th date. Not to mention
that most of press and media would be getting there copies for review
about the same time as everyone who bought the album in advance, and
we felt that it would be best to hold off on releasing it for one month
to allow the media to take a stab at it first, as it should be. The
press will have there copies a month prior to the release, and those
who have and/or will pre-order the album, will get it on the new release
date without any delay. By doing this, both the band and Nightmare Records
can rest easier knowing it will be done the right way from the beginning
without any chaos involved."
"The problem in mastering was very minor, and was rectified as
quickly as possible. The good news is, Lance (King, Nightmare Records
lable manager) tells us that the mastered version sounds sonic and HUGE,
and is very excited to get this on the shelves for the fans."
"Its only a month, and these things happen. hopefully we can all
hold out that long, as we can't wait for everyone to finally hear this
monster! As of right now, the response and demand for the new album
coming out has been far beyond our expectations. We are certain it will
be worth the extra month wait."
Nightmare Records is currently still accepting preorders for "The
Rising Anger". located here.

- UNTIL DEATH OVERTAKES ME - Symphony III: Monolith AVAILABLE NOW
We are proud to present to you this month the ninth release on the Flood
the Earth label, Until Death Overtakes Me - Symphony III: Monolith.
Many of you will already be familiar with Stijn's work from previous
albums, particularly the acclaimed Prelude to Monolith album on Firebox
Records. If not, you have been missing out on some wonderful ambient
funeral doom, and this album is surely no exception.
The funeral doom genre seems to be on a reproductive frenzy, and all
sorts of bands are popping up, tagging their music as depressive or
suicidal, when in reality it is just mediocre and boring. Maybe the
depressive part is when you discover you were tricked into wasting your
money on another uninspired album that you will never listen to.
Until Death Overtakes Me stands above and beyond these trends. Believe
me when I tell you, this is the real deal. That fact has presented itself
in a rather bittersweet way to me just today. Last night I received
a call informing me that a close family member had died. I will not
bother to explain the feelings, most of you I'm sure have experienced
loss and know what is associated with it. The connection to UDOM and
what I find remarkable is that I put on Symphony III this morning and
the music is in perfect harmony with my feelings of sorrow and mourning.
I am listening to this album now and it is like having a great weight
pushing you to the ground while your heartstrings are gently pulled,
threatening to be ripped out of your chest. The music feels very real,
not trying to force this atmosphere of grief.
I am not sure if Stijn is composing this during his own dark hours or
if it just comes natural in the music he writes. But in these times
when most albums come off as very insincere, at least to my ears, I
am very proud that we are able to release works such as this which feel
so honest and real. It goes without saying that Symphony III: Monolith
is not the album to have on when you are drinking beer with your loser
friends. Probably it is not the best driving music. It is impossible
to headbang to it. Many will not have the attention span for it, and
some people will just not get it. But I do hope that those who prefer
to listen to music alone and with greater purpose will find this album
a solace in dark times.
Until next time,
Mike/Flood the Earth

- CELTIC FROST Announce North American Dates
Legendary Swiss metal band CELTIC FROST have announced two months of
North American tour dates supporting their forthcoming May 30th release,
Monotheist. Commencing Sept. 11th and running through November 11th,
the extensive tour will reintroduce the band’s mesmerizing live
performance to their ravenous fanbase. Also scheduled are European festival
performances throughout the summer. Complete dates can be found at the
Century Media website here or the band’s website here. Their first
studio album in 13 years, and four years in the making, is an extremely
dark, inventive, and radically heavy release. When asked what fans can
expect from the tour and the new album, vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabriel
Fischer said, “CELTIC FROST are very proud to announce their most
extensive tour ever of the North American continent. In anticipation
of Century Media's May 30th, 2006, release of our darkest and heaviest
manifest to date, the Monotheist album, we are preparing a collection
of truly morbid old and new CELTIC FROST music. Join us at these special
services of worship and be part of the reappearance of one the world's
most fervent and passionate visions. We will be honored to welcome you."
“[Taking] metal down paths of eccentricity and compositional innovation
no one else dared to dream” (Metal Maniacs) CELTIC FROST have
returned to metal’s helm, steering the genre into uncharted waters
-- again. Formed from the remains of seminal death/black metal pioneers
Hellhammer in June 1984, Swiss-American hybrid CELTIC FROST continue
to be a pivotal influence on both the extreme metal and gothic metal
genres. Establishing many of the musical elements that have since become
synonymous for today's modern metal, the band saw every one of their
releases in both the U.S. Billboard and UK charts. Co-founders and co-writers
Tom Gabriel Fischer (a.k.a. Tom Gabriel Warrior, voice and guitars)
and Martin Eric Ain (bass and vocals) saw their uncompromising conceptual
framework and intricate instrumental orchestration influence bands such
as Pantera, Marilyn Manson, Emperor, Nirvana, Paradise Lost, Cradle
Of Filth, Foo Fighters, Darkthrone, Sepultura, Dimmu Borgir, Obituary,
Nile, and countless others. Co-produced by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy,
Dimmu Borgir) and with guest vocal appearances from Lisa Middlehauve
(Xandria), Satyr (Satyricon), and Ravn (1349), Monotheist is a testament
to why every metal band performing today owes allegiance to Kerrang’s
“darkest of dark lords,” CELTIC FROST. For more information
please contact me directly.
"I have been a die-hard Frost fan since Morbid Tales. If you had
written them off think again. This is the next essential Celtic Frost
purchase since To Mega Therion. Horns Up!!!" Joey Jordison / Slipknot

- MANOWAR, RHAPSODY And HOLYHELL Reschedule And Add New Dates
Rescheduled tour dates, as well as additional new dates, have been announced
regarding German performances by MANOWAR, with special guests RHAPSODY
and HOLYHELL, on the "Demons, Dragons & Warriors World Tour
2006".
Due to an unfortunate accident involving MANOWAR guitarist Karl Logan,
previously scheduled European dates of the tour had been postponed,
much to the great disappointment of the bands and their label, Magic
Circle Music. "Our first concern was to be sure that Karl was in
good condition," says Magic Circle Music founder and MANOWAR bassist
Joey DeMaio. "As soon as we were certain Karl would be able to
play again in the near future, we wanted to give our fans as much information
as possible to keep them abreast of plans for the tour."
Every effort was made to reschedule as quickly as possible. "It
was very unfortunate for us to postpone the German dates," says
concert promoter Klaus Boenisch from KBK. "However, we are happy
to have scheduled new dates and we are proud that we could even add
an additional show in northern Germany; even moreso because of the incredible
ticket sales. In true MANOWAR style, the band wishes to do something
special to thank the fans for their undying support and kind understanding."
DeMaio furthers Boenisch's sentiments with great gusto: "We are
very proud to be able to reschedule this tour. We will return bigger
and better than ever. Nothing can stop MANOWAR!" Additional European
dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as possible.
The new "Demons, Dragons & Warriors" German dates include:
Dec. 15 - Dortmund, GER @ Westfalenhalle
Dec. 16 - Hamburg, GER @ Color Line Arena
Dec. 18 - Berlin, GER @ Max-Schmeling Halle
Dec. 20 - Frankfurt, GER @ Festhalle
Dec. 21 - Stuttgart, GER @ Schleyerhalle
Dec. 22 - Nürnberg, GER @ Arena
Dec. 23 - München, GER @ Olympiahalle
The tickets for the Hamburg date will be available commencing March
10, 2006. All other tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates.
- VOIVOD "katorz" is 'mind-blowing'
Greg Prato of Billboard.com is reporting that VOIVOD are scheduled to
release their new album, "Katorz", in June via The End Records.
It will be the group's first CD since the passing of co-founding guitarist
Denis D'Amour (a.k.a. Piggy), who died last August after a battle with
colon cancer.
"It came about in unfortunate circumstances, but the result is
mind-blowing," drummer Michel "Away" Langevin told Billboard.com.
"Right before his departure, Denis explained to me that he had
recorded all the tracks that we had been working on with [bassist] Jason
[Newsted] and [vocalist] Snake [Belanger] for the past two years. He
had recorded that on his laptop with ProTools, and even though he would
have preferred to re-do the whole thing in a real studio, there was
a chance that we could use the tracks. We built the album based on the
guitar tracks, which was difficult, because normally, we go the other
way around — we start with the drums, and then add stuff on top.
But it sounds amazing."
"'Katorz' means 14 — it's the 14th effort of the band,"
Belanger added. "The first time Piggy put it together and gave
us the demo was o |
