  • REVEREND Recruits Bass Player hailing from NEW ORLEANS LA

As previously reported REVEREND Bassist BRENDON KYLE enlisted in the United States Air Force and will be leaving to bootcamp this month (February)2008. In our quest to keep Metal Alive REVEREND would like to welcome MIKE FALLETTA hailing from NEW ORLEANS LA who will be the newest addition to the band.

Davey Lee guitarist (REVEREND /BYFIST) commented "being that we knew Brendon would be leaving soon, we set out to find the best possible match that would do our music justice. We happened to see him perform at a club and when we pursued his talents he was just as excited to join with us as we were to have him in the band". Mike moved to Texas when Hurricaine Katrina devestated his world where he lost everything and had no choice but to start a new life somewhere else." Mike is a very fast learner and is extremely talented he fits right in"

Look for REVEREND on tour this summer.

  • PHARAOH has completed the mixing of its third album, entitled Be Gone. Like its critically-acclaimed predecessor, The Longest Night, the new album was recorded with Matt Crooks at MCR Studios in Manassas, Virginia. Be Gone will now be mastered by Colin Davis of Imperial Mastering for a worldwide March release via the leading traditional heavy metal label Cruz del Sur Music. As a special treat for fans (and, it must be said, for the band themselves) the track "Dark New Life" features guest guitar solos from Mark Reale and Mike Flyntz from RIOT. Jim Dofka also appears for the third time on as many PHARAOH albums, contributing his extraordinary guitar chops to the song "No Remains". A release date, song samples, and cover art for Be Gone will be revealed in the coming weeks.

PHARAOH will celebrate the new album and its ten-year history by performing live for the first time ever at Keep It True X on April 5, 2008, at Tauberfrankenhalle, Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. The festival is completely sold out as of September. For the occasion of their first live show ever, PHARAOH will be on stage with an extraordinary line-up featuring Hunter Ginn (CANVAS SOLARIS) on drums and guitarist Matt Crooks (DIVISION) as the second axe! To complete the news, we have finally a release-date which is set for the 24th of April 2008. Nevertheless a digipak limited edition will be released for the Keep It True festival, including an exclusive embroidered patch!

  • Greek Epic metal’s heroes BATTLEROAR are actually in the recording studio, completing the recordings of their third album To Death and Beyond. Greek comic artist (Conan Greek edition) John Rubulias has been hired for the artwork, expect a real epic metal artwork! The album will see the light on the 24th of April, and although the band’s is working against time, we're sure they'll make it! Also in this case a Limited digipak edition will be released in time for the Up The Hammers festival, including a bonus track and an exclusive embroidered patch!

  • LA’s CRESCENT SHIELD is working on the follow-up for their great late-2006 release, The Last of My Kind.

The new album will be released by Cruz Del Sur after summer 2008, but some details are beginning to be unveiled such as that the album will be entitled, The Stars of Never Seen, and Gerry Alanguilan (Marvel/DC), after the excellent result of his cover-illustration for The Last of My Kind, will be again responsible of the artwork.

  • NO SOULS LOST complete the recording of "HOSTIS HUMANI GENERIS"

Texas death metal band No Souls Lost has announced the completion of their new album, "Hostis Humani Generis". "After lots of personnel changes, lots of struggle, and lots of hard work, we feel this is an album you'll be very happy with", guitarist Jason Jaeckel was quoted as saying. After a long search, new vocalist Andrew Vasa joined the lineup shortly before the album was completed, and laid his vocals down just in time. The members hold his talent in high regard. "I had been doing lead vocals for a long time, but we wanted a front person that could interact with the crowd more effectively. It's hard to entertain the crowd and perform brutal death metal vocals when you're busy concentrating on highly technical guitar riffs.", Jaeckel said. Fans will be held over with two tracks from the new record available on their myspace site. The album is set to be released in April on Open Grave Records.

    1. Hostis Humani Generis
    2. Greater Pestilence
    3. Dracolich
    4. Metaphysics of Murder
    5. 793
    6. The Plane of Crossing
    7. Enuma Elish
    8. Catatonic Death Trance
    9. Solstice
    10. Impure Empire

And now the band has been confirmed for this summers MAYHEM FESTIVAL, which sees the band playing with metal heavyweights Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Mastodon, and Machine Head just to name a few.

  • THE SECRET - the Italian Battalion set to unleash Disentoxication

Eastern Italy has never been know as a hotbed for things that are ugly or brutal, but the unassuming Eastern city of Trieste has unleashed one of the most fierce and destructive forces from the country’s music scene in the form of THE SECRET. After wowing many with their 2004 debut Luce, the band, now slimmed down to a quartet after some personnel changes, are back in a big way, literally blowing the roof off their debut with an album that is heavier, more frantic and rawer than anything else they've ever done. Their upcoming album Disentoxication - their second release for Goodfellow Records, due out February 26th - is a punishing slab of metallic, murderous riffing and relentless powerhouse breakdowns.

Two new tracks from Disintoxication are available at the band's Myspace now. Instead of recording at home in Italy, this time around the band left their native country for the desolate, rural surroundings of Umea, Sweden to work with famed producer Magnus Lindberg at Tonteknik Recording. Disintoxication means leaving behind your bad situations and bad influences which slowly start destroying your life. Many of the lyrics are about loneliness and isolation; others are just a middle finger in the face of comfortable regular life. It’s all about the struggle you face when you have to take distance from someone or something you love but you know you can’t go on with, like a rehab. It’s about sleepless nights and desperation as well as spitting in the face of the world.

Disintoxication is shipping now to press, interviews are available upon request. The band has random shows and tours scheduled now through the summer strewn about Europe, with an upcoming North American tour in the scheming stages now. Contact the Earsplit Compound with all requests.

  • CAVALERA CONSPIRACY - INFLIKTED Due Out March 25th, 2008 on Roadrunner Records

INFLIKTED Due Out March 25th, 2008 on Roadrunner Records

New York, NY: The sun shines in Metal as the two most influential brothers reunite after 10 years of silence. Max and Iggor Cavalera have formed the Cavalera Conspiracy and will release their first album INFLIKTED to the world March 25th, 2008 on Roadrunner Records. “Cavalera Conspiracy is about a sense of being unleashed,” says vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera. “You bottle a monster for 10 years and then let it out. It’s explosive, and we waited a long time for this beast to be set free.”

What all Sepultura fans have hoped and waited for finally happened on August 17th 2006 in Tempe Arizona. Max and Iggor, the Cavalera brothers, finally reunited. Soulfly played a show in memory of Dana Wells (D-Low), the stepson of Max and son of Gloria Cavalera, whose death changed the life of the family forever. However, this brought back the force of friendship and family when Iggor Cavalera stepped on stage, almost in secret. He joined the band in the drum jam and in continuation he took a seat behind the drums. With the first sounds of “Attitude” the crowd realized who was keeping time behind Max and the band. They went wild. “Once we hit the first note, it felt like a bomb had dropped on stage,” exclaims Iggor. “From that moment on, I knew we needed to do something together musically.”

This amazingly phenomenal show will go down in every heavy metal encyclopedia as the historic moment when the brothers Cavalera joined forces again. “There was over 10 years of not seeing or talking to each other at all, which is a long ass time,” explains Max. That’s what made it more special when it did finally happen.

Cavalera Conspiracy consists of Max Cavalera (vocals/rhythm guitar), Iggor Cavalera (drums/percussion), Marc Rizzo (lead/rhythm guitars), and Joe Duplantier (bass). INFLIKTED is the long-awaited moment providing Metal a new era with the Cavalera Brothers. In the veins of Sepultura with a twist, the band turns back to heavier and darker material giving their fans exactly what they have been waiting for. Max’s vocals explodes onto the 11 tracks of INFLIKTED joined with the pounding of Iggor’s drum beats, Marc Rizzo’s shred slicing guitar and Joe Duplantier thumping bass lines. “When I listen to the album, it sounds old school, but new in its own way,” explains Iggor. “It’s a mix of both worlds.”

Recording took place this past July at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles, with Logan Mader (former Machine Head guitarist) and Lucas Banker of the Dirty Icon production team. Rex Brown (Pantera, Down) cameos on bass on Ultra-Violent, and Black Ark features a collaboration with Max, Joe and Richie Cavalera (Incite) all on vocals.

Tours dates for the Cavalera Conspiracy to be announced in spring. INFLIKTED is currently scheduled for release via Roadrunner Records internationally on March 24th and in North America on March 25th.

The tracklist for the album is as follows:
    'Black Ark',
    'The Doom Of All Fires',
    'Hearts Of Darkness
    'Must Kill'.

HOLLYWOOD – After a decade, the much anticipated Steve Stevens solo release is invading the world - MEMORY CRASH releases March 4th, 2008 on Magna Carta Records.

Steven’s spent the last few years out on tour in support of Idols album “The Devils Playground.” Once off tour, Stevens spent time orchestrating his new album and signed to Magna Carta Records. He spent the last year meticulously laying down the tracks to his newest guitar masterpiece.

Choosing a very retro-contemporary style, Stevens decided he would make this a very real and well conceived album, something that has not been heard in years. Reasserting the quality that made him a star, Stevens just calls it good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll. It’s just Steve Stevens, his guitar, and his beloved effects – all the ingredients that make's this album a work of genius.

MEMORY CRASH boasts such tracks as “Water on Ares”, “Hellcats Take the Highway”, “Small Arms Fire”, an interpretation of Robin Trower’s’ “Day of the Eagle” (featuring Dug Pinnick of King’s X), and the rousing/psychedelic “Cherry Vanilla.” “I have a lot of weird little segues going on with this record,” Stevens explains. “I’ve always loved that about the prog records, like Dark Side of the Moon. You enter this little theater of the mind. It’s a true headphone experience.”

Guitar World magazine once said that Steve Stevens “orchestrates the growls and snarls that come of his guitar much the same way that Bernstein conducts the Philharmonic.” It’s this variety of aural characteristics that also explains Stevens’ musical career path. Not only is he the longtime musical partner and friend of British punk-rock icon, Billy Idol—together delivering the million-selling albums BILLY IDOL, REBEL YELL, WHIPLASH SMILE, VITAL IDOL, GREATEST HITS as well as a new CD, DEVIL’S PLAYGROUND—but he’s a Grammy Award winner (Best Rock Instrumental for his work on the TOP GUN Soundtrack), a sought-after songwriter (co-wrote “Bolero” for the ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO Soundtrack), a noted session guitarist (Michael Jackson, the late Robert Palmer, The Cars Ric Ocasek and most recently, Pink), and a solo artist with two vastly divergent albums, rock ‘n rolling ATOMIC PLAYBOYS and the Latin-influenced FLAMENCO A GO GO. Not bad for a shy kid from the rough and tumble section of the Ramones’ Rockaway, Queens on the edge of New York City.

MEMORY CRASH was recorded and engineered by Steve Stevens and Beazle T. Monk at the Purple Room. Brian Tichy (Billy Idol/drummer) plays all percussion and drums, Stevens’ plays guitar and all other instruments.

FATALIST features members Wes Caley (ex-Exhumed, ex-Uphill Battle), Neil Burkdoll (ex-Stump, Dirty Dead), Tyler Castro and Art Hayes. They formed in the spring of 2006 and write music reminiscent of Entombed, Nihilist, Grave, Dismember and Unleashed. FATALIST's demo CD entitled "Loss" was self-released in November of 2007.

Check out their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/fatalist666

John McEntee, Owner of Ibex Moon Records:

"I was blown when I first heard this band. They have such a sincere heavy, catchy and aggressive death metal vibe. It reminded me of the first time I heard some of the classic Scandinavian death metal bands of the late 80's early 90's. I feel that FATALIST is a extremely promising band and will be a staple of the worldwide death metal scene. I'm proud to have them as a part of the Ibex Moon roster."

Neil Burkdoll states, "We are really excited and happy to be working with Ibex Moon. With bands like Nominon, Funerus, and Incantation, how can you go wrong? John has been very supportive of us and we look forward to releasing a great album in 2008."

  • FIREWIND post new track “Mercenary Man” @ MySpace!

Greek melodic metal masters FIREWIND are glad to premier the first track taken off their forthcoming, much anticipated fifth album “The Premonition” at MySpace. The song is entitled “Mercenary Man” and will also be released as a CD-single in the band’s home country, so check it out now @ www.myspace.com/firewind!

Furthermore, the band has just unveiled the track-listing for “The Premonition”, scheduled for a release on March 24th in Europe:

    FIREWIND – “The Premonition” CD:
    1. Into The Fire
    2. Head Up High
    3. Mercenary Man
    4. Angels Forgive Me
    5. Remembered
    6. My Loneliness
    7. Circle Of Life
    8. The Silent Code
    9. Maniac
    10. Life Foreclosed

Bandleader and guitar-wizard Gus G. advances some own words about the new material:
“Although the CD starts out with a pretty intense song (“Into The Fire”) which is like a six and half minute riffing, shredding and double bass madness, the next few songs are what I’d call modern hard rock – if I HAVE to put a tag on it!

I think there’s a lot of cool guitar stuff all over the album and generally this is a more guitar-oriented effort. Our influences draw from Thin Lizzy to Black Sabbath and Megadeth and you can clearly hear that on the riffs and guitar melodies.

Songwriting-wise I think all songs are special and once again everyone was involved in the writing – we basically kept the Allegiance “winning team” together.

Thus, we once again recorded and mixed @ Studio Fredman in Sweden. Fredrik really knows the sounds we’re after and delivers it in no time! We tried a few different things in the engineering this time – mainly with the drums and guitars and I feel we have a pretty tight, bone crushing Metal sound.

As for surprises we decided to cover the 80s pop smash hit, “Maniac”, not because we’re such lovers of the film “Flashdance”, but because it’s a kick ass song, period. Who knows, maybe we’ll get to do a remake of that famous video one day!”

“The Premonition” was mastered at Peter in de Betou’s Tailor Maid Productions (Dark Tranquillity, Meshuggah, etc.) and offers about everything that a lover of quality modern melodic metal can ask for. FIREWIND’s ability to combine heavy riffing and classic metal structuring with immense catchiness and glorious hooklines all in an up-to-date and ever-entertaining way are outstanding and triumphantly elevate
“The Premonition” to become of the melodic metal genre’s early highlights for 2008. Witness FIREWIND live in Europe throughout April and May at the following dates:

  • HEAVEN SHALL BURN "Endzeit" clip premiered @ MySpace

The stunning new video for HEAVEN SHALL BURN’s “Endzeit“ has just been premiered at MySpace, to watch it simply visit www.myspace.com/officialheavenshallburn or click HERE!

While filming the clip with director Philipp Hirsch (www.film-m.de) the band was temporarily arrested during their subversive activities; guitarist Maik Weichert explains what actually happened:

"While we were shooting the video for “Endzeit“, me and Marcus were dressed as service technicians and installed several cameras in the pedestrian and other public areas of Leipzig’s city centre. Of course it was fake cameras, but they looked pretty real.

While we were preparing the observation of the local branch office of a well-known fast food company, four police officers approached us and asked us what we were doing. Apparently worried citizens had called the cops telling them something suspicious was going on. I asked them if those “worried citizens” really meant us as there are many suspicious people walking around in the city of Leipzig! One of the policemen thought this was funny, another was seriously pissed off and the remaining two cops did not seem to get the joke, I think.

Afterwards they got a little rougher and threatened to take us into custody. We were basically left with two options: Either we could shoot them down and bail, or simply solve the situation by showing them the camera man’s press card, what we eventually did. After the officers had contacted the police station and double-checked with their chief they let us go. Of course we were smart enough to secretly film the incident and it will always be a highly entertaining part of our private video collection. Unfortunately, we can not post it, but anyway once again we were almost arrested, but you have to take risks if you want to be metal!”

The band’s new album has just been released and the limited edition of “Iconoclast” is sold out at the Century Media warehouse and there is also no stock left in the warehouse of our German distributor. Mascot-Provogue BV is a Dutch company grounded by Ed van Zijl who worked for Roadrunner Records in The Netherlands from 85 till ’92. The company was founded in 1993 as Mascot Records. The first successes came with Swedish bands B-Thong, Eleven Pictures, Ancient Rites, Transport league and Sadus. Later, Mascot followed their initial artists with Racer X, Paul Gilbert solo, Marty Friedman, John Norum, Jake E lee, Everon, Michael Schenker Group and Masters of Reality. Recent success in Europe has been John 5 and new rockabilly metal band Volbeat from Denmark.

In 1998 Mascot bought the Provogue Records label and moved in the more blues oriented market with success stories like Joe Bonamassa and recently added artists such as Walter Trout and Monte Montgomery.

In 2008 the company has moved into the North American market with the first releases being on the Mascot Records label. A few of the 2008 releases include:

PILGRIMZ (DK) has just been announced to play Roskilde Festival 2008 along with bands such as BAND OF HORSES (US), CLUTCH (US), ENTER SHIKARI (UK), JOB FOR A COWBOY (US) and many more!

    Roskilde Festival wrote:

“PILGRIMZ (DK) are dirty like a mechanic's sweat cloth. Some critics have compared their rocking and rolling metal to a toughened up version of The Hives. But when listening to lead singer Max Vegas, you are also easily reminded of a Danish cousin to Pantera's Phil Anselmo.”

We’ll announce record label and release date for PILGRIMZ debut album within a few months – but expect the album to be out during the spring of 2008. Furthermore, Pilgrimz has just signed European booking deals with Go Down Believing (HateSphere, Betzefer, Dismember) and Loud Noise (Pro-Pain, Sepultura). 3rd Tsunami Agency (Hatebreed, Volbeat) is presenting the band in Scandinavia.

  • THE MASTER'S THRONE Records News

KNEEL BEFORE THE MASTER'S THRONE Records is proud the present you some news and updates. Again, the label worked hard to get some killer tunes to be released, most of these scheduled for 2008. The most current and bestial information is to be found at the last part of that message here, so read carefully until the end…

    - NOCTURNAL – "Arrival of the Carnivore" 12" Picture Disc will be released within less than 14 days. Expect Unholy Thrash Metal from Germany. Influences are obviously taken from the old unholy trinity SODOM, DESTRUCTION and KREATOR. Of course, that release already is to be counted as one of the best thrashing assaults of the last time. Originally released by FROM BEYOND on CD and DEATHTRIKE RECORDS on vinyl, you know will have the change to get a very noble looking 12" Picture Disc within a cover-jacket. There are still some copies left, both regular and DIE HARD Version (including shirt, bottle-opener in shape of a button, featuring the cover-artwork and a shaped logo patch). All copies will come with an A1 poster, featuring also the cover-artwork. No further trades accepted.

    - GOSPEL OF THE HORNS – "Sinners/Monuments of Impurity" CD will be released within less than 5 days. The second pressing of that CD will be released within a cool digi-pack. The first 100 copies will come with a button and a shaped logo patch. Furthermore, we soon also expect the layout-material as well as the previously unreleased bonus-tracks from 1996 for the re-release of "THE SATANIST'S DREAM" CD/LP, both to be released by KNEEL BEFORE THE MASTER'S THRONE Records. No deadline has been fixed, but as soon as the layout will be put together we will ship everything to the pressing plant. Both versions of "Sinners/Monuments…" (Regular and the one with shaped patch and button are still available). Trades are accepted and appreciated, so get in touch with us.

    - METAL INQUISITOR "Garage Nights (Bootleg)" LP will be released at the 1st of March at their 10th anniversary gig in Koblenz, GERMANY. The songs got re-mastered at TOXOMUSIC which is known from bands such as DESASTER, OLD and NOCTURNAL. Besides their own songs in an even greater demo-version (rehearsal, 4/8 track recordings) you also will get some great yet unreleased cover-versions of WITCHFYNDE (Stab in the Back), JUDAS PRIEST (Invader) and more. The playing time will be around 49 Minutes and 12 songs will be pressed on that vinyl only release. The first 100 copies will come with a shaped logo patch and the vinyl colour will be white. Everything is at the pressing plant by now, the secure a release for the 1st of March. Pre-order/reservations will be accepted from the 15th of February.

    - 12th of April will be a killer date. HERETIC from the Netherlands will return with their first live gig since 8 years. We will celebrate that evening also with the release and re-release of "BLACK METAL HOLOCAUST" on vinyl and compact-disc. Die Hard version will be done for sure. The vinyl will come with the usual stuff like coloured vinyl, Shirt (black, three coloured print), shaped logo patch and a button. The CD Version will come with different button and shaped logo patch as well. At the same evening the DENIAL OF GOD THE DAWN OF AEMIZAEZ: DEMOS 1992-1993 LP and SHACKLES – COUP DE GRACE CD will be available, too. Pre-orders for all 4 releases will start at the 15th of March. Further news and updates you always can read first at our Homepage (inside the forum).

    - Both LIVING DEATH 12" Picture LP's ("VENGEANCE OF HELL" and "METAL REVOLUTION") will be released before summer. Everything got fixed in the meantime, now we are waiting for the layout-material to work on these.

    - ACHERON – "Rites of the Black Mass" 12" D-LP still need to get the new cover-artwork by KRIS VERWIMP. After getting that we will start working on the layout.

    - SATANIC FUNERAL – Night of the Goat LP (lim. to 132 copies) will be released lately in summer.

    - KRATORNAS from the Philippines will soon deliver the songs for their 2nd full-length that we will release on CD and LP. KRIS VERWIMP also will be responsible for the art-work. If everything goes right, the songs will get their mastering at Swedish NECROMORBUS STUDIO (Watain, Funeral Mist, Nominon, Zarathustra and more).

    - ZARATHUSTRA from Germany will soon start to compose and record some new songs for their next M-CD/M-LP.

And now the time has come to announce two new still-born yet desecrating babies:

    - OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS agreed to our plans to release the first four albums of SADISTIK EXEKUTION unto Picture Disc. We are still in negotiations about the details, but expect "The Magus" on Picture Disc lately in autumn/winter of 2008. Other albums will be "We are death…fukk you!", Fukk I and Fukk II – furthermore we will release the debut album of ROK – "THIS IS SATANIK" on black/coloured vinyl. Both Hellfukkers are proud to bring "Heinkel Hellfukker" and the other great songs finally unto vinyl. That album also celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2008, so a vinyl-release is a must to do.

    - Already to be released in June will be the (so far) one and only album of the morbid Swedish horde THORNIUM. Some of you might remember that strong black metal album from 1995. "DOMINIONS OF THE ECLIPSE" will be released on double vinyl, the first 100 copies on clear transparent vinyl and those also will come with a black shirt, an A1 poster, patch and button – 400 copies on black vinyl. Bonus-tracks on both editions will be their 3 song demo-tape "North Storms of the bestial Goatsign" from 1994. We got permission from both, the old label NECROMANTIC GALLERY PRODUCTIONS as well the band members Thypheus and Ulverheim. The band also is active again and negotiations to record and release a second album will be forged soon. The band is still full of hate, so we only can say:
Welcome back to hell – the cult is alive.

  • Bobby Undertaker leaves Deathchain – new album in works

We have decided to announce this due to all questions regarding the issue: Our long-time guitar player Bobby Undertaker has decided to step off from this roaring machinery. It did not come as a complete surprise but somehow it was inevitable, as one will find out when reading the Undertaker’s last obituary. It is with full understanding we part our ways with long-time friend and brother, so cheers to you and may Cthulhu guard your steps!!!

DEATHCHAIN has come to a point where in order to grow bigger and more known as a band, more and more tours outside Finland must be done. It seems that DEATHCHAIN is going to be pretty busy on that matter. That means months away from Finland and for me, also months away from my day job. In my current situation in life, that job is something I just can’t afford to lose. Especially when doing tours as a support, usually there’s no income of any kind and for me that situation is financially impossible. It’s not fair that the whole band would be held back just because of me. Furthermore, I totally agree with the rest of the band that using someone to replace me on tours is totally lame and just plain stupid. Either you’re in, or you’re out and I’m sad to announce that under these circumstances, I am out of DEATHCHAIN.

This is probably the hardest decision I’ve ever made. DEATHCHAIN has been a huge part of my life. We have done three albums and over 100 shows all around Europe, I’ve made a lots of friends on our gigs and met great bands, not to mention the fellow band members who have become one of my best friends. I will continue playing and with Corpse we have agreed to work together in the future. I wish all the best for DEATHCHAIN and thank you for the best years of my life.

    Stay metal,
    B. Undertaker

We have found a new brother, who will join our hordes under the name of Kult! There is no need to write about his past in here, because the future will show you that he is the right man for the job. We are already writing the next opus and Kult is deeply involved in the writing process, this is how strongly we trust him. So greet him with a pint of lager when you see him on this year’s shows!
    -DEATHCHAIN Squad-

DEATHCHAIN will head up to studio for the recordings of their fourth album on May. As an engineer and producer works band's long time live sound engineer Jari "Tupi" Tuomainen. Tupi handled the same duties on band's previous album “Cult Of Death” which was released on May 2007. “Death Eternal” is the working title of the upcoming album and it will be released at the beginning of October. Yet unnamed album will be released during the September / October. DEATHCHAIN is known from their furious live performances and uncompromising attitude towards their deathrashing mayhem!

  • DENIAL FIEND release an update for the fans!

    Kam Lee of DENIAL FIEND:

"DENIAL FIEND is busy working on several things at the moment. First of all we've confirmed several U.S. festivals including the Los Angeles Murderfest in April, and the Central Ill Metal Fest later this July. We're also working on a few European festivals throughout the summer and will release more information as those dates get confirmed.

Additionally DENIAL FIEND's been creating brand new material including two tracks, 'C.H.U.D.' ( Cannibalistic Humanoid Under Dweller ) - based on of the 1984 movie with the same title, and 'THE BLOOD REAPING' - which is based on of the horror comic strip called 'The Blood Reaping Of Dr. Gore' created by horror artist ZORNOW.

I've been talking with artist ZORNOW about new art concepts and ideas for future DENIAL FIEND projects which will include new T-shirt designs, new album cover art as well as a mini horror/gore comic book by ZORNOW (to be included with the next DENIAL FIEND release.)

Also in the works from my end... keep an eye out for the new release by the band BLOOD FREAK out on Razorback Records. Their new album is intitled - 'Scared Stiff' - and it was 'yours truly' that wrote the lyrics for the title track. I will hopefully be doing a guest vocal appearance on that track as well!

So 2008 will be a Horrorfilled year indeed, with the Horror Metal Legion growing stronger and DENIAL FIEND leading the zombie hordes onward to cunsume as much fresh flesh and brains as we can devour!"

    Sam guitarist of DENIAL FIEND:

"DENIAL FIEND will be playing on March 7th at the Crowbar in Tampa, FL. We will play several covers (Samhain, The Accused, Misfits) on top of our regular set showcasing songs from last year's debut full-length, "They Rise". The show will be recorded for a possible upcoming release on Ibex Moon Records sometime this year. We're proud to perform cover songs from bands that have influenced us greatly throughout the years. Hopefully we'll play a few of them good enough to be released. In any case, it'll be a lot of fun."

  • FIREWIND reveal album title & artwork for their new album; touring Europe with Kamelot in April/May 2008!

Greek melodic metal sensation FIREWIND will release its successor to 2006’s highly acclaimed “Allegiance” album on March 24th, 2008. Guitarist Gus G. checks in with details on the programmatically entitled “The Premonition”:

“The Premonition” is a strong title and our drummer Mark came up with the idea. A premonition means feeling something is about to happen. We’ve worked hard the past two years and we just have a premonition that 2008 is going to be a very fun and exciting year for us as we plan to visit again many places and countries and hope to play for our fans as well as make new ones!

Of course, you can interpret the album title in any way you want. Some people might read our lyrics and see that at times they’re about the course of mankind and the so-called “end of days”. So maybe this could be taken also as a warning or omen, because it’s definitely something that has been on our minds lately.

I feel that the new FIREWIND album is yet another step up in our career – musically speaking. Once again we aimed for a highly variable effort as I really don’t like those albums where you’ve listened to the first song and it’s like you heard them all! This doesn’t happen on a FIREWIND album and certainly not on the new one!

Regarding touring, we’ll start off in Europe right after the album’s release and we’ll spend about five weeks on the road with Kamelot (we recently toured Japan with them and it was just fantastic!). We plan to return to the US right after that, but no dates are confirmed yet. Of course, a Japan and Pan-Asian tour is being planned currently as well as several appearances at summer festivals.

    // Gus G.”

The artwork for “The Premonition” was created by Brazilian artist Gustavo Sazes (www.abstrata.net) and you can now view it in higher resolution by clicking HERE!

  • ZIMMERS HOLE - announces new album title and track listing; posts cover art and new track online!

With a wicked, twisted sense of humor and an undying love for true metal, guitarist Jed Simon (Tenet, SYL) and bass player Byron Stroud (Fear Factory, SYL) pay homage to the genre by celebrating its eccentricities in their Canadian quartet, ZIMMERS HOLE. Rounded out by their certifiable vocalist The Heathen and long-time biggest fan Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, SYL) on drums, THE HOLE, as they are affectionately known by their loyal legion of miscreant followers, will reach worldwide audiences for the first time with their third full-length, “When You Were Shouting At the Devil, We Were In League With Satan”. Although THE HOLE was dug before the formation of Strapping Young Lad, this is the first time Simon and Stroud have had the time to devote all their attention to the band, resulting in a more focused, streamlined effort. The inherent insanity in a project like THE HOLE is still there, but traditional metal influences abound in the epic, fist-pumping feel of songs like “We Rule the Fucking Land” and “Flight of the Knight Bat.” The crisp but cutting production clearly places “When You Were Shouting” on the modern side of things but Simon’s thrashy riffs and Hoglan’s blistering pace give the album a timeless and dangerous edge. This is a record for those true metal fans hungry for something that’s going to get their heart pumping and head banging. After all, THE HOLE are as serious about having fun as they are about keeping the integrity of metal intact.

With a new album in the bag and a newly intense focus, THE HOLE are looking forward to hitting the worldwide roads as a collective. The time has come for those in league with Satan to gather and prepare for the arrival of the unholy ZIMMERS HOLE.

  • MERCENARY post new track, reveal artwork & confirmed to support Megadeth!

Right on time with the release of their highly anticipated new album “Architect Of Lies”, Danish metal outfit MERCENARY has been confirmed to share the stage with the mighty Megadeth in February/March 2008. See below for the exact dates.

“Architect Of Lies”, the follow up to 2006’s “The Hours That Remain” (which subsequently was awarded the Danish Metal Award in the category “Best Album”) will be available on the following release dates:

    DENMARK: Monday, March 17th, 2008
UK, FRANCE, NORWAY, REST OF EUROPE: Monday, March 24th, 2008

SWEDEN, FINLAND, HUNGARY: March 26th, 2008

MERCENARY guitarist Jakob Mølbjerg comments on the new album and the European shows with Megadeth as follows:

“Hell yeah! What better way to kick off 2008 and preparing for our new album-release than getting out on the road with the almighty Megadeth? What a blast! We will be playing five shows with the Godfathers of Thrash during February and March, and four of the shows are even as direct support. This is an immense honour for us and a dream come true, as Megadeth has always been a great source of inspiration, as well as one of the main reasons I ever picked up a guitar in the first place. So check the new tourdates and prepare to 'Embrace the Nothing’, the new track on our Myspace profile. See you all out there on the Killing Roads!”

Powered by countless live performances prior to the recordings, the new album certainly turns out to be MERCENARY’s most spontaneous album to date, combining melodic and dark elements, the catchy and the complex in irresistible metal hymns. To grant you a glimpse at the final result, the brand-new track “Embrace The Nothing” has just been posted at the band’s MySpace site, listen to it now!

Garnered with artwork by Niklas Sundin (Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity), “Architect Of Lies” will be released as CD and Limited Edition incl. the bonus track “Death Connection” & bonus DVD offering live footage filmed at Bang Your Head festival 2007 & Summer Nights festival 2007, a detailed studio report and the promo video for “My World Is Ending”.
