  • DESTROY DESTROY DESTROY EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIER FOR "THE WRETCHED FOREST" ON MYSPACE MUSIC!!

Nashville natives Destroy Destroy Destroy will exclusively premiere their new music video for "The Wretched Forest" today on MySpace Music.

The video for "The Wretched Forest," directed/produced by Steve Stemac and edited by Ryan Kendrick of Digital Bohemia, transcends historical time periods, taking us back to when quests for the Holy Grail and slaying dragons were more than mere legend spoken by elders.

"The Wretched Forest," from Dx3's recent Black Market Activities release "Battle Sluts," is in itself a perilous quest to revive the artistic premise on which creative music videos once began, with its 6 mm style film and fantasy-based story line.

Prepare to immerse yourself in a legend of honor, integrity and heroic valor before the video premiers on Tuesday by checking out songs from the band's release "Battle Sluts" on its MySpace page:

  • Guitar Icon VINNIE MOORE releases LONG AWAITED STUDIO ALBUM OUT NOW - MAY 26TH, 2009

TO THE CORE – On MASCOT RECORDS U.S.A.

HOLLYWOOD –Almost a decade has passed as the much anticipated Vinnie Moore’s solo release is about to invade the world – TO THE CORE releases May 26th on Mascot Records U.S.A.

Moore’s spent the last several years out on tour with British rock/metal band UFO. Once off tour, Moore spent time orchestrating his new album meticulously laying down the tracks to his newest guitar instrumental masterpiece.

Choosing a very retro-contemporary rock style mixed with many other styles and influences, Moore decided he would make it a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll instrumental album. It’s just Vinnie Moore, his guitar, and his raw guitar talent – all the ingredients that make's this album a work of art.

TO THE CORE boasts such tracks as “Fly”, “Panic Attack” and “Off The Hook.” All the songs take on unique tones has Moore takes you on a journey track after track. “The only plan I had when making this record was to do some things I have never done before,” explains Moore. I am into many types of music and wanted to make a record where I could just let it all pour out without limitations. I am basically a rock guy but all these other influences that filter into my music. You can hear many styles from an R&B/Hip Hop vibe to one that is heavy but has an indian vibe with lots of exotic percussion. I even have a couple tunes with techno elements, some funk, some blues and some bepop. Hell, there is even some motorcycles on it and I even played slide guitar on "Jigsaw" which is fairly new for me. The common thread that ties it all together is probably the fact that it's me playing guitar through it all.”

TO THE CORE was recorded at The Core. John “JD” Deservio (Black Label Society/Bass) plays bass, Van Romaine on drums and Tim Lehner on keyboards.

  • Six Feet Under Bassist Terry Butler To Replace Derrick Ramirez On OBLITERHATE Debut

Due to Derrick Ramirez’s (ex-Dragonlord/ex-Testament) hectic schedule, Terry Butler (Six Feet Under/ex-Death/ex-Massacre) will join the ranks of OBLITERHATE and has recently laid down all the bass tracks at Redneck Studios (owned by John and Donald Tardy of Obituary) for upcoming debut, Blessing In Disgust.

Comments Terry Butler: “It's a great honor to be part of something with musicians of this caliber. I would like to thank Calvin for offering me the chance to play bass for OBLITERHATE. He has written some amazing tunes for this release! Describing the music I would have to say that it's very heavy and riffy. There's a good mix of thrash and death metal. The lead work is amazing, the drums are crushing and what else can I say - Dan Swanö on vocals! I had a lot of fun recording the bass for OBLITERHATE. The bass tracks were recorded at John and Donald Tardy's Studio - Redneck Studios. If anyone is looking to record, I highly recommend using Redneck Studios!”

States OBLITERHATE guitarist Calvin Chiang: “Having such an amazing musician like Terry Butler be involved in OBLITERHATE was exactly what I needed for this band. Not only does Terry have the solid groove nailed down to perfection, his work attitude towards this entire project was more than spectacular! Both of us spent several weeks discussing the song structures and Terry treated the band like it was his own. He wanted to make sure he got every single note figured out before stepping into the studio. A true masterclass musician in every sense of the word! I would have no second thoughts to collaborate with Terry again if the opportunity arises in the future. John Tardy was responsible for tracking Terry’s bass tracks at their very own Redneck Studios, and I would like to thank John for the total professionalism shown throughout the entire recording and also for the patience in sending over the edited bass tracks. The bass tracks that were laid down sound huge and monstrous! I'm definitely very anxious to start working on the album again after a long delay.”

    OBLITERHATE is:
    Calvin Chiang (Raspatul) – Guitars
    Dan Swanö (Nightingale/ex-Edge Of Sanity/ex-Bloodbath) – Vocals
Terry Butler (Six Feet Under/ex-Death/ex-Massacre) – Bass
Erik Sayenga (ex-Dying Fetus) – Drums
    Mirai Kawashima (Sigh/Necrophagia) – Keyboards

James Murphy (Disincarnate/ex-Death/ex-Testament) - Guest guitar solo
    Jeff Becerra (Possessed) - Lyrics
Rogga Johansson (Paganizer/Demiurg) - Lyrics and vocal arrangements

  • TWISTED SISTER HUNGRY AGAIN

Rhino Re-masters 1984 Top 20 Smash Album With A Bonus Disc Of Unreleased Studio Recordings, Plus A New Track By The Original Lineup For 25TH Anniversary Edition

Limited Edition Pink Vinyl Package Accompanies CD and Digital Release

    Available From Rhino June 30

LOS ANGELES -- After rocking clubs from Los Angeles to New York City for more than a decade, Twisted Sister made its bones in 1984 with the quintet's second Atlantic Records release, a Top 20 album that stormed the charts with a string of hit singles and genre-bending videos. Rhino proudly wears a Twisted Sister pin on its uniform, celebrating the album's multi-platinum success with a 25th Anniversary Edition that includes a bonus disc of unreleased outtakes and early demos from the original sessions, as well as a new track recorded especially for this collection by the 1984 lineup: Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza, and A.J. Pero. STAY HUNGRY 25th Anniversary Edition will be available June 30 from Rhino Records at all retail outlets, including www.rhino.com, for a suggested list price of $19.98 (CD), $12.99 (digital).

A limited edition pink vinyl package with the original "Stay Hungry" album art and bonus poster will also be released this summer at the suggested retail price of $24.98.

The first disc contains remastered versions of the nine tracks from the May 1984 original. The album was a smash thanks to a pair of fist-pumping anthems of youthful rebellion "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It" that went Top 40. The band balanced those catchy songs with the harder edge of metal classics like "Burn In Hell" and "Horror-Teria," a macabre song that would later serve as the inspiration for Strangeland, a 1998 horror film written by Snider, who also starred as the sadistic Captain Howdy.

The bonus disc uncovers 15 unreleased recordings that range from alternate versions of album tracks--including "We're Not Gonna Take It"--to several non-album tracks such as "Death From Above," "Prime Motivator," and "Pay The Price," a song from the band's earlier club days. Along with the vintage tracks, the collection includes "30," Twisted's first new song in 11 years recorded by the band for the 25th Anniversary Edition.

"30" was originally written by Dee Snider with Marc Beeman and Sharon Lawson for the reality series Gone Country. Dee says, "While '30' was my attempt at a country song for the show, the realization was that rock 'n' roll is a direct outgrowth of country music. Since '30' was written about my Twisted Sister experience, it seemed only natural for us to record it and rock it out."

More than a decade after Twisted Sister's last show, the band reformed in 2001 for a benefit and continued playing together, including an astonishing run of over 50 headline festival dates performing in front of two million people in over 23 countries. In 2006, the band returned to the charts with Twisted Christmas, a holiday album that buzzsaws through yuletide classics such as, "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silver Bells." That same year, the Long Island Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Twisted Sister. The band is currently at work on a new album and a Broadway musical based on Twisted Christmas. Twisted Sister will headline the annual Rocklahoma music festival July 9-12 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Rock of Ages, Broadway's latest musical hit with five Tony® nominations, features Twisted Sister prominently in its story line and with the band's aforementioned iconic anthems, "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It."

  • ANIMALS AS LEADERS GUITARIST DRAFTED FOR SUMMER SLAUGHTER
Tosin Abasi to join Born Of Osiris on "the most extreme tour of the year"

ANIMALS AS LEADERS guitarist Tosin Abasi will join Sumerian recording artists Born of Osiris on this year's Summer Slaughter tour, which kicks of June 5 in Baltimore, Md. The seven-week traveling festival, co-headlined by Necrophagist and Suffocation, will serve as Abasi's first national tour since his former band, Reflux, disbanded in 2005.

"I'm very excited to join these guys on stage and to see all the other great bands on Summer Slaughter," Abasi says.

Earlier this year, Abasi returned to the spotlight with his new progressive instrumental project, ANIMALS AS LEADERS. The group's self-titled debut, which was been hailed by MetalSucks as "intricate instru-metal of the highest caliber," is a 12-track collection of guitar-driven progressive instrumentals with ambient and electronic influences, providing a scintillating showcase for one of the finest young guitarists in rock today.

"I definitely wanted to make an album that was 'guitar-centric,' but also interesting from other perspectives," Abasi explains. He succeeded, as his dazzling performances on both 7- and 8-string guitars are flashy and technical, yet also tasteful and melodic.

Abasi recently conducted an extensive interview with AOL's metal blog Noisecreep, where the Washington, D.C.-based guitarist discussed the rise in popularity of the 8-string guitar, his playing technique and what he's trying to accomplish with ANIMALS AS LEADERS. That feature can be read here.

Also, Abasi has unveiled two new video lessons in which he demonstrates his considerable talents. In addition to a performance snippet of one of the solo sections in "Tempting Time," a track currently streaming on the ANIMALS AS LEADERS MySpace page, Abasi has also posted a clip called "Deconstructing 'CAFO,'" in which he details how to play one of the ascending guitar lines to "CAFO," another track from AAL's self-titled debut. Both videos have been posted at www.myspace.com/animalsasleaders.

  • SKYFIRE Post New Song and Announce Digital-Only EP Details

Swedish progressive death metal act SKYFIRE has made its new song “Esoteric,” available for download on their myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/skyfiremusic.

The band will release a 4-song, digital-only EP entitled 'Fractal’ in July via Pivotal Rockordings. 'Fractal' is made up of songs that were written between 2004’s 'Spectral' and their yet-to-be-released September 2009 'Esoteric' album. SKYFIRE bassist Martin Hanner comments on the band's decision to release the EP:"

Since we spent way too much time in the studio writing and recording and too little time giving anything back to the fans, we discussed with our label about releasing a few songs we wrote in 2005 or so. We recorded, mixed, and mastered these alongside the ‘Esoteric’ songs with new vocalist Jocke and guitarist Johan in order to make them available to our fans. We knew these songs weren't going to make our full length, because by the time we had signed a deal, we were flowing with new ideas. However, letting these songs go unreleased was always something sad for us, so it's awesome that they will be available to the fans digitally with exclusive artwork and everything.”

'Fractal' marks the first official SKYFIRE release to feature new members Johan Reinholdz (guitars; ANDROMEDA, NONEXIST) and Joakim Karlsson (vocals; MARK:BLACK). All music was recorded, mixed and mastered at Powernest Studios with the exception of the track "Esoteric," which was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY, SONIC SYNDICATE, ZONARIA, THE ABSENCE). Vocals for all tracks were produced by THE FORSAKEN guitarist Patrik Persson.

    'Fractal' tracklisting:
    1. The Land of the Wolves
    2. Bereaved in Denial
    3. The Transgressor Within
    4. Esoteric (‘Esoteric’ album preview track)

  • HIBRIA - New album, video and Asian tour

    - The brazilian metallers of HIBRIA released their second album, entitled "The Skull Collectors". The effort, released in Asian territory by Spiritual Beast and in Europe by Remedy Records, was mixed and mastered by Achim Köhler, producer who already worked with metal acts like Amon Amarth, Sodom, Pink Cream 69 and Brainstorm, and was responsible of the classic Primal Fear's "Devil's Ground".

He then looses a partner in a trap set up by a rival group and becomes charged for that. Dominated by his wish for revenge, he falls into self-destruction meanwhile he is confined in a bunker with his past remembrances.

  • FRONTIERS TO RELEASE PRIMAL FEAR’S NEW ‘16.6’

TRENTON, N.J. - Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of Primal Fear’s new studio album “16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead)” on May 22 in Europe and June 9 in the USA.

Anticipated by a successful listening session held in Cologne, Germany, attended by the cream of the European Metal press, the new album is about to bring back Primal Fear to the throne of Heavy Metal.

“16.6” is easily the most powerful, ambitious and interesting album in the band’s history. The vibe of songs like the opening track “Riding The Eagle,” “Killbound,” or “Under The Radar” are reminiscent of the “Nuclear Fire” album but the whole album features all the trademarks of the Primal Fear sound - a the total dedication to pure metal. There is also a new approach mixed with the trademark PF riffs in tracks like “Six Times Dead (16.6),” “Soar,” and “Smith & Wesson,” as well as the epic stories, consummate musicianship, and fantastic melodies in songs like “Black Rain,” “No Smoke Without Fire,” “Torn,” and the stylistically new ballad “Hands Of Time,” with four band members all sharing the lead vocals.

“Our target was to write and produce the most diverse and interesting album in the history of Primal Fear and combine our past with the future,” said Mat Sinner. “The result went truly beyond our expectations and it will be a huge challenge to play these new songs on stage! The entire band is very proud of ‘16.6’ and we hope all our old and even new fans will be totally satisfied!”

The album was recorded the House of Music studios with engineer Dennis Ward, mixing engineer Achim Koehler, and producer Mat Sinner. Once again Primal Fear displays a very high standard of song writing, sound, and production. New guitarist Magnus Karlsson and Henny Wolter shine with a new dimension to the guitar work, and lead vocalist Ralf Scheepers reaches a new level in his vocal performances. Nothing can go wrong if you’re backed by one of the best rhythm sections in metal with Randy Black and Mat Sinner and you can hear the result on Primal Fear’s outstanding new message called ‘16.6!’

Some of the feedback gathered from the press after the listening session includes:

“Primal Fear top themselves one more time again with their unique mix out of traditional Metal sounds and modern melodic power metal. How can they do that again and again?” - Andreas Schöwe (HAMMER magazine, Germany )

“First impressions: more variety without losing the Metal balls! Fresh blood and ideas combined with the Primal Fear trademarks, outstanding vocal performance by Ralf again and great guitar work by both Magnus and Henny. Some immediate live favourites, other tracks definitely need time to grow, but sound more than promising and won’t disappoint any metal fan that wants more than easy listening stuff” – Martin Römpp (HEAVY magazine, Germany)

“To date ‘16.6.’ is Primal Fear’s most diversified record; containing a spectrum from Hard Rock up to double-bass driven Power Metal Songs. But one thing is always consistent – the quality!!! – Gerald Siebenmorgen (ROCK IT magazine, Germany )

“Primal Fear manages to take at least one step forward, one backward and still stand for what Primal Fear always has been standing for - pure metal.” - David Bergström (SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE , Sweden)

“As the cover artwork shows, Primal Fear ride fiery bullets, play with demons...and fly on butterfly leaded wings. ‘16.6’ marks the evolution of groundbreaking hard rock and power metal, filled with open-minded styles. The Devil knows they’re alive!” - Filippo Pagani (METAL HAMMER magazine, Italy )

    “16.6” track listing:
    01. Before the Devil Knows You`re Dead
    02. Riding the Eagle
    03. Six Times Dead (16.6)

  • Eyes Set To Kill Post Video For ‘Heights’ Online

New Album Out June 2nd, 2009!! On Tour With Sky Eats Airplane!!

Arizona based Eyes Set To Kill have posted their video for the song “Heights” online at www.MySpace.com/EyesSetToKill. The video was directed by Black Fawn Films’ Chad Archibald (Arise and Ruin, Farewell to Freeway) in Los Angeles and is the lead track on the band’s upcoming sophomore effort “The World Outside”, which will hit stores on June 2nd, 2009 through BreakSilence Recordings.

"The song 'Heights' is basically about making the best out of a bad situation. It's about drawing something positive from negative experiences and growing as a person," commented Eyes Set To Kill's Brandon Anderson about the track. "We decided to do an energetic performance video for this song, with lots of wide, sweeping shots. It was a blast to shoot because it felt like we were performing the song live.”

"Although we had just gotten back from an exhausting 13-hour flight from Brazil, shooting the ‘Heights’ video was still an exciting and energetic experience," added Alexia Rodriguez. "I know that once it is released everyone watching it will be able to feel that energy that we put into the performance."

Like a caterpillar cocooning itself in preparation for the transformation into a butterfly, Eyes Set To Kill’s sophomore effort, “The World Outside” shows how the band has evolved from their screamo beginnings into powerful songwriters that resonate raw emotion. Written and recorded by the band in Los Angeles, CA with producer Dave Aguilera (ex-Otep, Bleed the Dream) and mixed by Thom Flowers (The Ataris), the album captures Eyes Set To Kill’s unrefined intensity.

Eyes Set to Kill will hit the road with Sky Eats Airplane throughout June.

  • FRONTIERS SETS RELEASE DATE FOR SECOND PATHOSRAY ALBUM

TRENTON, N.J. - Frontiers Records is delighted to announce the signing of Italian progressive metal band Pathosray for the release of its upcoming second album, “Sunless Skies.”

Pathosray was formed in 2000 by drummer Ivan Moni Bidin and vocalist Marco Sandron, later joined by bass player Fabio D'Amore, keyboardist Gianpaolo Rinaldi, and guitarist Alessio Velliscig. The band released its self titled debut album “Pathosray” through Sensory Records in late 2007, gathering a great response from the progressive metal communities all over the world.

In support of the release, Pathosray played a few selected shows around Italy, and in September 2008 the guys went to Atlanta to perform for the first time abroad in front of an enthusiastic ProgPower USA Festival crowd. Two weeks later they played at ProgPower Europe in Holland with similar responses.

The rest of 2008 was spent on writing and recording “Sunless Skies,” which was recorded at Artesonika Studios in Italy and mixed and mastered in Sweden by Johan Ornborg and Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Symphony X, Hammerfall, Opeth, Katatonia, etc).

With a new record deal in place and an awesome new album to boot, Pathosray is ready to climb the next step on the progressive metal ladder. “We’re all really happy and excited about the new album and the way how our sound evolved during these two years,” said bassist Fabio D'Amore. “The new recording deals, with Frontiers Records and Soundholic, will surely give ‘Sunless Skies’ an extra value with the possibility to reach new fans and spreading our music in the best way possible! We’re extremely pleased to have the possibility to work with such respectable companies, also thanks to the amazing job that Intromental Management is doing for us!”

In connection with the upcoming release, set for May 25 in Europe and June 9 in the USA on Frontiers/Super D, Pathosray has been confirmed to play ProgPower Scandinavia Festival (alongside Pretty Maids, Freak Kitchen, Mercenary, and more) in Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 25.

“2009 couldn’t have started better than this,” said drummer Ivan Moni Bidin. “The excitement for the invitation to play at ProgPower Scandinavia in Denmark with such big names will give us the strength to keep improving and set up the best show possible!”

  • Evergreen Terrace reveals album title, post studio update

Evergreen Terrace is hard(ly) at work tracking the music for, Almost Home, their follow up to 2007's critically acclaimed, Wolfbiker. The band has just uploaded the first video studio update. Watch the video on youtube.com HERE.

Josh James comments: "We are almost finished tracking the music for our new record titled Almost Home and let me be the first to say that this record is not going to suck! Next week we head down to Audio Hammer Studios in Orlando, FL to start laying down vocals with metal mastermind, Jason Suecof. We are currently working on some US and European tour dates so keep your ears/eyes open. If you live on Earth then we might be coming near your town once this record comes, and if you don't live on Earth, then you're an alien and probably eat cats. And PETA freaks out when you eat cats. Trust me, it's ok to eat donuts but not dog nuts, that's hypocrisy."

  • JOB FOR A COWBOY: ‘RUINATION' COVER ART, ALBUM DETAILS REVEALED

Award-winning Glendale, AZ heavy music powerhouse JOB FOR A COWBOY has completed work on its hotly-anticipated sophomore album, entitled Ruination. The record will see a July 7, 2009 North American release date via Metal Blade Records.

The cover artwork for Ruination has been unveiled and is available for viewing now at this location. The striking, quasi-conceptual piece was designed by Brent Elliott White and takes its inspiration from JOB FOR A COWBOY front man Jonny Davy's album lyrics and concepts.

“The ideas involved with the new album branch off from our last record, ‘Genesis' but are more politically based,” states Davy. Topics addressed by the album's schema revolve around modern day worldwide dilemmas and controversial issues including “Propaganda in the main stream media and television, humanitarian rights of Northern Korea, the modern genocidal government of Nubia, the use of torture in American military tactics, overruling by world governments and Police states / Martial law”.

JOB FOR A COWBOY will shoot its first music video from Ruination – for the new song "Regurgitated Disinformation" -- on Saturday, June 6 in Philadelphia, PA and is inviting fans to attend and be a part of the event. Presented by R5 Productions & 94 WYSP/Rockers, the JFAC shoot will take place in Philly's First Unitarian Church beginning at 8:00 PM EDT. Downloadable vouchers for the video shoot / live performance will cost just .94 cents and are available at this location. In addition to the video shoot, the evening will include a full live set from both JOB FOR A COWBOY and a “special guest” opening act.

The event voucher will be exchanged for an “admission wristband” on the day of the show. Wristbands will be issued on a first come, first serve basis starting at 12 PM (noon) on June 6 at the main entrance of The First Unitarian Church and will only be available to those who purchased the voucher in advance. The wristband will guarantee admission to the show that evening as well as both a special meet and greet with JFAC and a limited edition poster that includes a promo code to download a special digital Metal Blade sampler featuring new music from Job for a Cowboy, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth and more. Fans who arrive too late to receive wristbands will still be able to partake in the meet and greet and receive the poster with digital sampler promo code. Full details on the event can be found at this location.

The follow up to the quintet's celebrated debut album Genesis, Ruination was recorded at Audio Hammer Productions in Sanford, FL with Producer Jason Suecof. The album features ten tracks of state-of-the-art heavy metal music and marks the JOB FOR A COWBOY recording debuts of drumming prodigy Jon “The Charn” Rice, who has toured with the band since the release of Genesis and guitarist Al Glassman. Upon the release of Ruination, JOB FOR A COWBOY will hit the road as one of the featured acts of the 2009 “ROCKSTAR Energy Mayhem Festival” alongside Slayer, Marilyn Manson and more. The 27-date North American march is slated to launch on July 10 in Sacramento, CA.

In the two short years since the release of the band's full length debut, JOB FOR A COWBOY (JFAC) has progressed from “the band with the different name” to one of the leading lights for heavy music in the 21st century. The quintet has toured the world to out-and-out acclaim, highlighted by main stage appearances at distinguished music jubilees such as the UK's Download Festival and Germany's Wacken Open Air. JFAC delivered scintillating live performances as handpicked support to metal titans Megadeth (on both its North American and UK "Gigantour" treks) and co-headlined the highly successful "Radio Rebellion" tour with Polish metal champions Behemoth.

In addition to Davy, Rice and Glassman, JOB FOR A COWBOY features guitarist Bobby Thompson and bassist Brent Riggs.

  • PESTILENCE Not Allowed Into the USA

Band Leader PATRICK MAMELI Makes Statement and Apologizes To the Fans

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The innovators of Death Metal, Pestilence will not headline today, May 24, 2009, at the Maryland DeatFest due to their detainment at the US border. Band leader Patrick Mameli and guitarist Patrick Uterwyck were kept in custody for several hours and sent back to the Netherlands late yesterday.

Upon entering the US and stopping at customs they discovered their paper work, which was sent to them, for their travels was not properly completed for the required working visas. Originally they were told all was in order and to proceed on the trip to the US. They spent a total of 44 hours in flights and detainment - The two artists had flown the day before to give the USA metal-heads a skull-crushing performance only to be disappointed.

“We are extremely sad and disappointed not being able to perform on the MDF. Not having received the proper information on our visa application, we were under the impression that what we received from the securing visas and working permits office was the actual working permits,” explains band leader Patrick Mameli. “We were kept under custody by the border security police for 4 hours trying to do everything in our power to let us pass, but all our efforts failed. They sent us home on the next plane. Hopefully we will be given another chance to perform for you, our fans!”

  • SUNSTORM BUILDS A 'HOUSE OF DREAMS' ON NEW FRONTIERS RELEASE

TRENTON, N.J. - Frontiers Records is proud to announce the release for the second Sunstor album, "House of Dreams."

This AOR masterpiece, featuring former Rainbow, Malmsteen, and Deep Purple vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, will be out in America on May 19 via Frontiers/Super D and in Japan on King Records.

The first Sunstorm album saw the light of day in 2006 when Turner accepted Frontiers President Serafino Perugino's concept to blow the dust off from some potential AOR hit songs that Turner had writtern for the aborted follow up to his 1985 solo debut "Rescue You." It turned out to be one of the most successful, straight-ahead melodic rock releases of 2006. Jim Peterik (ex=Survivor, Pride of Lions) supplied additional tracks and the album was rounded off with some other AOR classics picked by Turner and Perugino.

The stunning production, courtesy of Pink Cream 69's studio wizard Dennis Ward, was hailed as one of the highlights and key factors to the album's success. When the second release was being planned, it was a natural choice to ask Ward to be a part of the project again. This time, he played bass and sang background vocals. He also enlisted Uwe Reitenauer and Thorsten Koehne on guitars, Chris Schmidt on drums, and Gunter Werno on keyboards.

Once again, Turner dug deep into the archives and found some classy melodic rock gems to resurrect. One of the highlights that might sound familiar to fans is "I Found Love," a song that Turner often used to open up his concerts on the "Rescue You" tour. There's also "Forever Now" and "Save a Place in Your Heart," where another AOR cult hero, Paul Sabu, appears among the writing credits.

Perugino also asked Turner to finally release "his" version of the amazing ballad "Walk On" that Turner co-wrote with Desmond Child (KISS, Bon Jovi, etc.) for the Jimmy Barnes album "Freight Train Heart" in 1987. Additionally, Jim Peterik was called in to offer his talents to Sunstorm once again. The results include "Tears on the Pages" - a tune co-written by Jon Lind and Russ Ballard. Peterik also contributed "Say You Will" and "Gutters of Gold." Brothers Tom and James Martin (House of Lords, Khymera) wrote the remaining tracks and were able to capture the spirit and quality of songs expected from the Sunstorm project.

Turner, who recently returned from a tour of Russia with Over The Rainbow, is excited about the release of "House of Dreams." “Once again, Serafino and the staff at Frontiers have proved that they know how to cater to melodic rock fans," he said. "I am glad that they believed in the Sunstorm concept enough to get behind the release of a second album. There are plenty of people all over the world that love this genre of music and I still enjoy making it. It's also invigorating and rewarding to be able to sing some of these songs that I co-wrote or performed in the '80s that never had a chance to be released properly. Jim Peterik came through again with incredible tracks - well structured with compelling lyrics and melody changes. The Martin brothers also brought in some songs that will probably translate great, live, and that the fans will really enjoy.”

Sunstorm's "House of Dreams" is a real “must have” for all JLT lovers and a stunning release for all melodic rock fans.

Final tracklisting includes: "Divided," "Don't Give Up," "The Spirit Inside," "I Found Love," "Say You Will," Gutters of Gold," "Save a Place in Your Heart," "Forever Now," "Tears on the Pages," "House of Dreams," and "Walk On."

  • SPIDER ROCKETS' NEWEST RELEASE UNLEASHED DIGITALLY ON MAY 19TH, NYC DATE SUPPORTING DUFF MCKAGAN THE SAME DAY!

Crafting a sound that pushes the line between elegance and aggression, New Jersey-based Spider Rockets has completed work on a self-titled release that is a follow-up to 2007's buzz-worthy 'Ever After.' Comprised of band members Helena Cos on vocals, Johnny Nap on lead guitar, Bones Hackett on bass guitar and Dan Prestup on drums, Spider Rockets has built a large and loyal fan base on the strength of a must-see live show which has seen the group open for many renowned national acts.

'Spider Rockets' will be released on Tuesday, May 19th digitally through iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, emusic, Amazon, Best Buy, Puretracks, FYE and other digital portals. The same day, the group will open for Duff McKagan's Loaded at the Gramercy Theater in NYC (the Spider Rockets' set time is 8:00-8:30pm).

"We recorded with Eric Rachel at Trax East in New Jersey," explains Helena about the sessions that comprise 'Spider Rockets.' "It was pretty stressful as we knew we had a lot to accomplish and were on the clock for all of it with a lot of concentration on every instrument and each layer of sound." The result is an impressively consistent release from beginning to end, which showcases the quartet's trademark modern rock sound that manages to be both melodic and muscular. "This one has been well planned and thought out as collaboration between the musicians and the engineer," adds Bones. "Every song can hook you in just as much as the last. I don't feel like there is any filler content at all on this album." Johnny adds "I think the quality of the recording and the music on this CD has taken us to a new place as a band and I'm very excited about it." Dan agrees "it was a phenomenal experience working with Eric. I feel between us and him in the studio, some great stuff happened."

But according to Helena, there are already some new tracks that are her favorites. "I really like the chorus on the song 'Kiss You Dead.' It's strong and the subject: love and hate makes it compelling. 'Disease' has a catchy main riff—how it starts at beginning of the song, launches into the chorus and the energy that builds up to the end. 'Let it Go' has a twisting, flowing feel that pulls you in—it shows a different side of us, the guitar and bass bring this song to a different place with a cool Middle Eastern vibe." Johnny adds, "yeah, I really like 'Predator'—it has a such a hypnotic verse that propels the song really well into a driving chorus." Dan includes, "one of my favorites is 'Everything.' It has such a cool dark energy to it and I love the melody."

As with their past releases, the group plan to tour heavily behind 'Spider Rockets,' with Bones confirming that "fans can always expect a tight energetic show from us. Simply put, we are in our element when on stage." With the new album already quite an impressive accomplishment, somehow, even greater things seem in store for Spider Rockets.
