  • SWORN ENEMY post new track and reveal cover artwork of “Total World Domination”!

New York hardcore monsters SWORN ENEMY are about to return with their newest slab of hate – the devastating new album “Total World Domination”, which will be released on June 22nd, 2009 in Europe on Century Media Records.
Like its much lauded predecessor “Maniacal”, the new opus was recorded with producer Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying) and perfectly blends the band’s old-school, beat you down hardcore style with a thrash metal infusion resulting in material that will tear your face off.

Now, you can check out the album’s artwork and the brand new track “Still Hating” at the band’s re-designed MySpace page, so head over to: http://www.myspace.com/swornenemy!

After headlining an European tour earlier this year, SWORN ENEMY are already confirmed to return to European stages from the end of August until late September on the Hell On Earth tour 2009.

  • WARBRINGER post new track online! New video to be premiered this week!

On May 25th, 2009 the new WARBRINGER album “Waking Into Nightmares” will be released in Europe (May 19th in the US)! Now, you can stream another new track, “Prey For Death”, from this highly anticipated new slab of rabid thrash metal for one week exclusively on http://www.revolvermag.com/node/3211

WARBRINGER recently completed a new video for the track, “Severed Reality,” which was shot by the acclaimed David Brodsky (Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR). This is a frenetic, performance based clip that perfectly captures the band’s live, unrelenting stage show. Look for the video to premiere on MySpace Metal this Friday, May 15th.

    John Kevill (vocals) further comments:
“The video for “Severed Reality” got done in the middle of a tour, and it was done mostly live at the venue we were playing at that night in Milwaukee. We did a couple of shots on the stage before anyone showed up, and then just shot the whole show for the video. As it turns out the show was fucking insane, we couldn't even fit all the stage divers in the video! David Brodsky went to put the whole thing together and it came out great, I think it is the strongest video we have had so far.”

“Waking Into Nightmares” is a old school metal masterpiece with a modern twist that will keep the circle pits moving all night long. To do exactly this, see WARBRINGER live at the following dates:

  • 3 INCHES OF BLOOD sign worldwide deal with Century Media Records!

One of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal, Canada’s 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, has crafted a new dynamic, epic opus of grandeur that is soon to be hailed as the gospel of all things heavy. Century Media Records is proud to welcome these metal warriors to its worldwide family roster and fans can expect their massively anticipated new full-length release this fall.

    Cam Pipes (vocals) further comment:
“Ever since our departure from our previous label, Century Media has been in the forefront trying to get us to sign with them. No other label showed as much enthusiasm and belief in our band as they did. Right from the start we all got a great feeling from the whole Century Media team. We feel comfortable with the vision they have for us and are confident they have the necessary tools and motivation to help us in the ways our previous label didn't. We can’t wait to unleash this new material upon the masses.”

3 INCHES OF BLOOD entered Seattle’s London Bridge Studios to commence the recording process in mid April with renowned producer Jack Endino (High On Fire). The group took a break from the studio for a slew of high profile US shows with genre leaders Slipknot, Pipes further states:

“The shows with Slipknot were absolutely amazing. Any band would be fortunate to get to play in front of their crowd and because we are such a different band than Slipknot. This was an excellent opportunity for us to put ourselves in front of people who have never heard us before and make some new fans. Obviously, Joey Jordison (Slipknot drummer), our friend and past producer, had a part in getting us on these shows and we are massively grateful to him and everyone else that made it happen."

Born out of a love for pure metal, weaned on a diet of fantasy and mythology, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been slaying the infidel for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released three albums and splattered the ground with crimson streaks while on tour with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead and Cradle of Filth, just to name a few.

In 2009, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD raises the chalice another notch leaving their definitive mark on the metal genre. Stay tuned to http://www.myspace.com/3iob for video updates, studio reports and more!
  • ASPHYX launch new song “Scorbutics”; unveil “Death…The Brutal Way” artwork!

After the stunning success of their reunion shows in 2007 the premier Dutch old school Death Metal act ASPHYX is back to release their highly anticipated new studio album “Death…The Brutal Way” on June 22nd, 2009 in Europe!

Today, the band can proudly unveil the cover artwork for “Death…The Brutal Way” created by Mick Koopman (Hail Of Bullets, Dead Head, etc.) and also present the devastating album’s opening track “Scorbutics” online at their newly designed MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/officialasphyx

Vocalist Martin van Drunen checks in and comments as follows:“Right, you ultra-mean deathsters! We're proud to present the skullcrushing opening track "Scorbutics" from our new album "Death...The Brutal Way". I guess there's nothing to be said. This is Asphyx in its purest form. Our long-time fans know what to expect and we're damn sure we didn't disappoint them. Check it out and bang your head to this one....be sure to have some cold beers in the fridge for the thirst that comes up afterwards! You can now also check the cover artwork from "Death...The Brutal Way” and again, what's there more to be said?! Death and Asphyx…That's what it is! A barren wasteland (of terror, haha)! A true dark masterpiece that fits in an excellent way to the most brutal piece of pure death/doom we ever made! Enjoy it and watch out for the album on June, 22nd!”

In the line-up consisting of Martin van Drunen (Vocals), Wannes Gubbels (Bass/Vocals), Paul Baayens (Guitar) and Bob Bagchus (Drums), these old school metal icons recorded “Death…The Brutal Way” at Sonic Assault Studio with Frank Klein Douwel. Afterwards, the album was mixed and mastered by the none less legendary Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge Of Sanity, Hail Of Bullets etc.). Transferring the band’s classic trademarks of doomy, macabre death metal into the year 2009, “Death…The Brutal Way” is easily the heaviest ASPHYX album to date and the first to feature the titanic roar of Martin van Drunen since 1992’s classic “Last One On Earth”!

Next to upcoming appearances at high-profile festivals like Deathfeast and With Full Force, ASPHYX have lined-up an exclusive album release club-show for “Death…The Brutal Way” on Saturday, July 4th at Turock in Essen, Germany. • HARDLINE 'LEAVES THE END OPEN' ON NEW FRONTIERS RELEASE

TRENTON, N.J. – Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of the long awaited new Hardline album entitled “Leaving the End Open.”

Hardline was formed when brothers Johnny (vocals) and Joey (guitar) Gioeli, originally from the band Brunette, teamed with guitarist Neal Schon (Journey). Signed by MCA as soon as Schon left Bad English, with the addition of Todd Jensen (David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper) on bass and Deen Castronovo (also coming from Bad English and later on with Journey) on drums, the band went on to record their debut “Double Eclipse” for MCA in 1992 and then went on the tour circuit with such heavy hitters as Van Halen and Mr. Big.

While never popular in the mainstream, Hardline’s album became immediately very popular among the hard rock fraternity and is still today regarded as one of the finest efforts of the decade. However, by that time grunge and alternative styles had already taken over and melodic rock was being pushed aside. Tension among band members, the record company, and perhaps certain egos, got in the way of an immediate follow-up album, despite the band having written more than enough material.

Years later Johnny (who meanwhile gathered vast recognition signing for the German axe-hero Axel Rudi Pell) and his brother Joey decided to give it another go with Hardline after the call of Frontiers Records, and with an all new line-up they produced the awesome return album “II” in 2002, with Josh Ramos (of The Storm and Two Fires fame) taking Neal Schon’s place on lead guitar.

Hailed by critics and fans alike as a top-class return, the band returned on stage headlining the GODS Festival in Bradford in June 2002. Since then all band members worked on different projects. “Everyday life can sometimes step in and throw you off balance,” said Johnny Gioeli. “This was the case for the big delay. I just had to put it aside and make sure I was ready for the task at hand. I’m not sure of where the future will bring me, hence the title ‘Leaving the End Open.’ I don't want to plan anymore, I just want to see where life takes me.”

Johnny and Josh Ramos started to work on new Hardline songs in 2006. With a renewed line-up now featuring Johnny Gioeli on vocals and Josh Ramos on all guitars, with Michael T. Ross on keyboards, Jamie Brown on bass, and Atma Anur on drums, Hardline are now back where they left off, producing a killer new album “Leaving the End Open,” chock full of killer guitar riffs, amazing hook lines and heartfelt ballad sealed with Gioeli’s incredible vocals and the band’s instrumental prowess. In Johnny Gioeli’s words, “‘Leaving the End Open’ has a nice mix of flavors. Take ‘Voices,’ its power, its positive feeling, it puts me in an ‘I can do anything mood.’ Or ‘Start Again,’ purely radio. Everyone on this record shines!”

Final track listing for “Leaving the End Open” includes: “Voices,” “Falling Free,” “Start Again,” “Pieces of Puzzles,” “Bittersweet,” “She Sleeps in Madness,” “In This Moment,” “Give in to This Love,” “Before This,” “Hole in My Head,” and “Leaving the End Open.”

“Today’s worldwide economy has made it so difficult for artists to get out on the road and share the music with the fans,” Johnny said. “Our fans do not go unnoticed...we will do everything possible to play shows and demonstrate the power this line up has.”

  • Empires of eden - "Songs Of War And Vengeance" - a powerful new force in shredding melodic metal.

Drawing on classic influences such as Helloween, Ayreon and Iron Maiden, the new project Empires of Eden is a must-hear for fans of melodic heavy metal. While many albums bathe in the hype of greatness, yet fail to deliver the goods, Empires delivers 11 tracks of pure symphonic mayhem with irrepressible hooks and jaw-dropping performances. The monstrous production by Dan Quinlan (Deicide/Suffocation tour sound Australia) and stunning artwork by Oliver Lehmann combine to create a history-making metal masterpiece.

Empires of Eden showcases an incredibly diverse collection of talent from some of metal's finest performers. Created by guitarist Stu Marshall (Paindivision/ex-Dungeon) the epic is built on the foundations of Marshall's music while providing a vehicle for three magnificent metal voices. Louie Gorgievski (Crimsonfire), Mike Zoias (ex-Transcending Mortality) and Chris Ninni (Sydney session vocalist) have been given free reign to bring their own power, influence and flavour to the project by writing their own melodies and lyrics.

Originally, more than 20 songs were composed for the project. Of these, 11 have been chosen as the absolute A-list, ensuring a compelling listen from the first to the last. One of the standout features of the album is the monolithic 'Black Endings/Echoes Of Oblivion, a nine-minute, orchestrally-based spoken word epic. Detailing the final days of the world and the rebirth of the human spirit, the piece will place the listener into an atomic wasteland with cinematic clarity and is narrated by acclaimed author Gun Arvidssen.

Soaring vocals and shredding guitars, enhanced by the imposing presence of a 30-piece orchestra, mark Empires as the premier, refreshing, uncompromising release of 2009. The songwriting is second to none, and draws on nothing short of the best talent from many sources in the metal community.

Songs Of War And Vengeance features performances by members of Vanishing Point, Dungeon, LORD, Thundasteel, Cerbeus (Japan) and Argument Soul (Japan), rounding out the global standard of musicianship to be found on this remarkable album. With a project as ambitious as accomplished as this, there is no doubt we are witnessing the birth of a new era in metal.

  • MICHAEL KISKE AND PLACE VENDOME UNVEIL ‘STREETS OF FIRE’

TRENTON, N.J. – Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated second album from Place Vendome entitled “Streets of Fire.”

During the winter of 2004 former Helloween singer Michael Kiske, whose voice is still regarded as one of the most fascinating of the whole of rock, accepted an invitation to be part of a melodic rock concept by Frontiers Records’ President Serafino Perugino. The resulting Place Vendome debut album brought Kiske back to a more straight-ahead and rock sound, still very accessible and melodic and far from the heavy metal stereotypes of blood, violence, and hate from which Kiske decided to move away. He collaborated for the first time with Pink Cream 69’s Dennis Ward, Kosta Zafiriou, and Uwe Reitenauer, with Gunther Werno (Vandenplas) on keyboards.

In Kiske’s view, “Without Serafino Perugino offering me this Place Vendome project, I would probably never have sung a few of the musical styles on there up to this day (also in terms of lyrics), because my own songwriting is different. But I have found it interesting to do exactly because of that reason. It’s like playing roles or testing possibilities. To sing songs you did not write has its own quality: you can learn something you otherwise probably wouldn’t and get a chance to look beyond your own borders. AOR won’t ‘revolutionize’ our music-world these days, but it is certainly fun to sing and people seemed to have enjoyed the first Place Vendome a lot. It did pretty well and also received surprisingly good reviews all over the world.”

The very favorable reviews of the first Place Vendome album planted the seeds for a second recording, which was recorded during 2008. The songs this time were supplied by different songwriters, particularly motivated and enthusiastic to be part of this new album. Torsti Spoof (Leverage) offered “Dancer,” “Changes,” “Believer,” and the title-track “Streets of Fire.” Ronny Milianowicz (Saint Deamon and songwriter for Primal Fear) wrote “Surrender Your Soul,” “Completely Breathless,” and “A Scene in Replay,” while Robert Sall (Work of Art, W.E.T) supplied “Follow Me” and “Valerie.” The production and the musicians’ team have remained unchanged with Ward, Zafiriou, Reitenauer, and Werno supplying all the necessary musicianship and skill to make this new album a success.

“This second one appears to be even more AOR for my ears,” said Kiske. “It was also (again) very interesting for me to see how different a song sounded after I did the vocals. When Serafino sent me the songs one by one as demos, I sometimes secretly thought, ‘OK, nice tune, painless and sweet, but it could also be a bit better.’ But after I did the vocals and Dennis Ward produced it in his own way with his guys, that impression changed and I am always surprised at how good it actually turns out in the end! This shows once more the importance of ‘HOW’ we do things.”

A promo video clip for the song “My Guardian Angel” (written by Magnus Karlsson) is included as a special interactive bonus on the album and marks Kiske’s visual return on the scene after years of a self-imposed exile.

“Streets of Fire” final track listing includes: “Streets of Fire,” “My Guardian Angel,” “Completely Breathless,” “Follow Me,” “Set Me Free,” “Believer,” “Valerie,” “A Scene in Replay,” “Changes,” “Surrender Your Soul,” “Dancer,” “I’d Die For You,” “My Guardian Angel” (bonus video).

  • BEHEMOTH COMPLETES TRACKING OF THE NEW ALBUM!

Behemoth have completed tracking their much anticipated new album, “Evangelion”, at Radio Gdansk in Poland.
Nergal is flying to UK on May 12th to join Colin Richardson who's currently mixing the record at Miloco Studios, in London.

Commented Nergal "I've just finished tracking down the vocals for "Evangelion". My chords are worn out and I can hardly speak but at the same time I'm sooo happy and satisfied with the way it turned out this time. I think there was something missing in my vocal performance on the previous record, "The Apostasy". With "Evangelion" I made sure it doesn't sound just brutal…songs are more diverse and so are my vocals. There's definitely more emotions and expression in it. You'll be surprised!"

Walkerton, Ontario based Odium have posted a teaser online for their video “At The Bottom” at the following location: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ShzZYTbF1Q&feature=channel_page. The track is taken from their recently released debut album of the same name, which was produced by Greg Dawson (The End, Moneen, Starring Janet Leigh). The album was released on Year of the Sun Records this past March.

  • DAMNATION FESTIVAL - New additions and tickets now on sale!

Tickets for the fifth annual DAMNATION FESTIVAL are now on sale… at last year’s price.

Despite an earlier opening time of 1pm, more bands across all three stages and a stronger bill of diverse rock and metal talent, briefs will be kept to £29.50, and a fewer number will be available than last year’s 3,500 capacity sell-out to help ease congestion in the Leeds University Union.

And if that wasn’t enough good news, English grindcore punks EXTREME NOISE TERROR, Texan post-rock masters THIS WILL DESTROY YOU and Chicago psychedelic metallers MINSK, are the latest additions to the bill which already boasts; Therapy? an exclusive Rotting Christ appearance, A Storm of Light and Stand-Up Guy, not to mention the comeback and final farewell of Mistress – with ALL headliners still to be announced.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Despite every effort being made to improve the festival - more bands, less clashes, earlier doors – we were determined to keep the ticket prices as low as last year.

“There will also be fewer tickets on general sale this year which – with careful billing and much better signage to the stages – should ease the congestion around the building.

“We were voted the UK’s best metal event by the fans that turned out in the numbers last year but they can be assured we’ll do everything in our power to continue to make the event even better.

“Extreme Noise Terror were built for these kind of shows and our only hope is that our Terrorizer Stage is sturdy enough to host them, while This Will Destroy You and Minsk are sterling additions to the majestic Rock Sound Stage.”

Damnation Festival will take place at Leeds University Union, on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Tickets are available now from http://www.leedstickets.com/ , http://www.ticketline.co.uk/ and http://www.seetickets.co.uk/

    For 25TH Anniversary Edition

Limited Edition Pink Vinyl Package Accompanies CD and Digital Release

LOS ANGELES -- After rocking clubs from Los Angeles to New York City for more than a decade, Twisted Sister made its bones in 1984 with the quintet's second Atlantic Records release, a Top 20 album that stormed the charts with a string of hit singles and genre-bending videos. Rhino proudly wears a Twisted Sister pin on its uniform, celebrating the album's multi-platinum success with a 25th Anniversary Edition that includes a bonus disc of unreleased outtakes and early demos from the original sessions, as well as a new track recorded especially for this collection by the 1984 lineup: Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza, and A.J. Pero. STAY HUNGRY 25th Anniversary Edition will be available June 30 from Rhino Records at all retail outlets, including www.rhino.com, for a suggested list price of $19.98 (CD), $12.99 (digital).

The first disc contains remastered versions of the nine tracks from the May 1984 original. The album was a smash thanks to a pair of fist-pumping anthems of youthful rebellion‹"I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It"--that went Top 40. The band balanced those catchy songs with the harder edge of metal classics like "Burn In Hell" and "Horror-Teria," a macabre song that would later serve as the inspiration for Strangeland, a 1998 horror film written by Snider, who also starred as the sadistic Captain Howdy.

The bonus disc uncovers 15 unreleased recordings that range from alternate versions of album tracks--including "We're Not Gonna Take It"--to several non-album tracks such as "Death From Above," "Prime Motivator," and "Pay The Price," a song from the band's earlier club days. Along with the vintage tracks, the collection includes "30," Twisted's first new song in 11 years recorded by the band for the 25th Anniversary Edition.

"30" was originally written by Dee Snider with Marc Beeman and Sharon Lawson for the reality series Gone Country. Dee says, "While '30' was my attempt at a country song for the show, the realization was that rock 'n' roll is a direct outgrowth of country music. Since '30' was written about my Twisted Sister experience, it seemed only natural for us to record it and rock it out."

More than a decade after Twisted Sister's last show, the band reformed in 2001 for a benefit and continued playing together, including an astonishing run of over 50 headline festival dates performing in front of two million people in over 23 countries. In 2006, the band returned to the charts with Twisted Christmas, a holiday album that buzzsaws through yuletide classics such as, "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silver Bells." That same year, the Long Island Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Twisted Sister. The band is currently at work on a new album and a Broadway musical based on Twisted Christmas. Twisted Sister will headline the annual Rocklahoma music festival July 9-12 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Rock of Ages, Broadway's latest musical hit with five Tony® nominations, features Twisted Sister prominently in its story line and with the band's aforementioned iconic anthems, "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It."

  • STATIC-X Embarks on a European Summer Tour

CULT OF STATIC out NOW on REPRISE RECORDS

HOLLYWOOD, CA - Static-X will be hammering out their heaviest, most flammable work to date as they start their trek of major European festivals June 12th in Tallinn, Estonia. Just coming off the coattails of headlining 2009’s Snocore US run, this European metal journey is in support of their new release CULT OF STATIC, on Reprise Records. The album marries the band's aggressive driving force with disarming experimentation, a performance you do not want to miss.

Static-X’s CULT OF STATIC debuted at #16 on Billboard’s TOP 200 while STRINGWRAY hit the charts as the first single. Keeping the integral tones, Static-X encompasses shredding guitars with solos that have brought the band to a level of playing to be reckoned with. The cybernetic stomp of "Hypure" and "You Am I" bludgeon, bruise and break with precise grooves. Elsewhere, the staccato riffs on "Terminal" crush through an unmistakable guitar tone. Guitarist Koichi Fukuda blazes through incendiary solos, while Tony Campos bolts down demonic bass lines and Nick Oshiro pounds out deadly rhythms. Front-man Wayne Static riffs pure violence and screams out his soul. “Over the years my voice has been destroyed from excessive touring... and I love it,” exclaims Static. “The vocals on the new record are raw and brutal.” The fiery raw quality of CULT OF STATIC is blatant as the second single Z-28 now on the airwaves is climbing to the top.
