  • Entombed & Birdflesh MySpace Premieres

Candlelight has posted new songs from Entombed and Birdflesh to its official MySpace page. The songs are from upcoming albums due this summer.

"Serpent Saints" is the title track from Entombed's new album set to hit stores July 31. The album closes a near four year gap; it following the special 2cd reissue of the band’s highly regarded Inferno album. The album presents the band continuing to expand their signature sound as they embrace ten brand new songs. With European dates already booked the band look to return to the US for the first time since 2004 in late fall/early winter 2008. Since their formation, giving rise to the classic “Swedish death metal” sound, the recently inducted Decibel Magazine’s “Hall of Fame” band have consistently up’ed the ante on each and every album, often adding unexpected curves along the way.

"Arabian Jesus" is the fifth track from Mondo Musicale, the third album from grindcore favorites Birdflesh. A recent headliner at the fifth annual Maryland Death Festival, the song showcases equal parts brutality and speed (with the band's characteristic heavy dose of unbridled humor), Birdflesh are a perfect fit for fans of Municipal Waste, Macabre, Rotten Sound and more. Mondo Musicale hits US stores on July 17.

MEGADETH's latest album, "United Abominations", has entered the Norwegian chart at No. 21. As previously reported, the CD also debuted on the Italian chart at No. 24 and U.K. chart at No. 23, making it the band's highest-charting LP in the U.K. since 1994's "Youthanasia", which peaked at No. 6. MEGADETH's last album, "The System Has Failed", debuted at No. 60 on the U.K. chart. "United Abominations" also debuted at No. 23 on the official Australian ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) chart.

  • MEGADETH Mainman: No GIGANTOUR Until 2008

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"We just got back recently from the HEAVEN AND HELL tour and are celebrating our new release 'United Abominations'. It will be just over a week until we fly overseas to celebrate with you in Europe and the U'K.

"I can't tell you how excited we are with the new record and your reaction to it. We are seeing tremendous interest around the world and can't wait to play the new songs for you.

"Just so you know, we are looking to visit Euro/U.K. for the next month, ending in Tel Aviv; go out for a brief tour in the states the month of September or so; go internationally touring again the month of November; and maybe some special shows in December. This is all subject to change — so don't hold me to it.

"Gigantour will not be happening until 2008 due to time constraints, and we will let you know upon further information and scheduling permits. "Thanks again to BLACK SABBATH and MACHINE HEAD and DOWN for the last couple of months touring time together. Best wishes to HEAVEN AND HELL overseas, too.

"Lastly, I really enjoyed meeting everyone on the last tour; especially the time in the interviews (because those usually sucked in the past)."

  • GREAT WHITE: REUNION, NEW ALBUM & SUMMER SHOW DATES

“BACK TO THE RHYTHM” DUE OUT LATE SUMMER ON SHRAPNEL RECORDS

HOLYYWOOD – Since reuniting in January 07’ to perform a benefit concert, GREAT WHITE has moved forward and hit the studio for their first album in 8 years. “It’s just like old times,” states lead singer, Jack Russell. “There’s a bond that forms between people that is very special. I’ve missed my friends.”

2007 marks GREAT WHITES 25th Anniversary, so original members Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (lead Guitar), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (Guitar/keyboards) and Sean McNabb (bass) have been in studio the last few months writing and recording. “Back To The Rhythm” is being mixed, produced, and engineered by band member Michael Lardie while collectively all are adding their sounds to the mix. “The new songs sound fresh to me, very GREAT WHITE, but with an approach of what we sound like in a live performance situation,” explains Michael Lardie. “Kendall and I are having fun channeling our Stones roots and playing off each other in the Richards/Woods tradition.”

With it being their anniversary year and a new album in tow, GREAT WHITE is once again ready to rock all summer long. The band will hit the road for summer shows Nation wide to support their new album “Back To The Rhythm” [Shrapnel Records] as well as slam out all their greatest hits the fans know and love.

The Southern California blues-rock band first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and since then has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and earned a double platinum certification for the album “…Twice Shy”.

The soulful, blues-based signature sound that turned songs like "Face The Day", "Rock Me" and "Save Your Love" into international hits, can also be found on the new songs which are currently being mixed by the band’s keyboard player Michael Lardie.

The late 80's were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. GREAT WHITE recorded two more albums for Capitol — “Hooked”, which was certified gold and “Psycho City”.

Although Capitol issued a Best Of compilation in 1993, Great White had already departed the label to begin work on their next studio release, “Sail Away”, released on Zoo Records in 1994 supporting it with relentless touring. Their next release was “Let It Rock” in 1996.

GREAT WHITE then signed with Portrait Records, an imprint founded by A&R guru John Kalodner that featured fellow hard rock acts such as Ratt. “Can’t Get There from Here” was released in 1999 and is the band’s last studio opus thus far.

Shrapnel Records plans to release the newest album at the end of August 2007. For more information go to www.mistabone.com.
  • OBITUARY FINALIZE ALBUM TITLE
RETURN FROM SUCCESSFUL TOUR OF AUSTRALIA

Philadephia: Obituary have confirmed Xecutioner's Return as the title for their forthcoming album. The album's release date has been pushed forward to August 28 from the earlier announced September 11 date. The band are finalizing US touring plans now that will kick off in early September. Full tour details to be announced shortly.

Vocalist John Tardy comments about the band's recent trip to Australia, "it took us over 20 years to get to Australia, but we finally made it and had a great time. The shows were really great and I know our fans there waited a long time for this so it was nice to finally get down there."

The band are working with artist Andreas Marshall for the cover art for Xecutioner's Return. Marshall has worked with the band for The End Complete and their most recent record Frozen in Time. Tracking of the record has now been completed with mixing and mastering now on schedule in the coming weeks.
  • PRO-PAIN - Age of Tyranny: The Tenth Crusade

"It's a do-or-die record from a band that could get away with coasting, one that should (in a just world, anyway) propel these guys to the top-tier ranks of bands like Hatebreed who grew up sniffing Pro-Pain's exhaust before taking the basic concept and running for the goal line with it." - Blabbermouth

"...Pro-Pain show you why their pummeling style has lasted for 15 years." - Transform Online

"...the punishing nature of the music and the presentation is pure Pro-Pain. It’s fast, furious post-apocalyptic hardcore full of profanity, tough guitar riffs, punchy music and raw energy." - Pitriff

The acclaimed and respected hardcore band this year celebrates 15 years of non-stop work with the release of their tenth studio album.

Pro-Pain have always waved the flag for the music the love while delivering a strong message showcasing their dedication to patriotism, DIY-kudos and lively independence. Age of Tyranny finds this well oiled hardcore machine digging even further into their long-regarded (and often controversial) lyrical prose turning in a corrosive and biting molten platter. Band leader Gary Meskil (vocals/bass) is as poignant as ever on “All For King George,” “Three Minutes Hate” and the anthemic album closer “Live Free (or Die Trying).” His vocals are precise; his message clear. Guitarists Tom Klimchuck and Eric Klinger turn in stellar performances as drummer JC Dwyer holds the metallic pulse together with perfect timing and thunderous beats.

Formed by Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), Pro-Pain have over the years benefited from substantial support from an ever-growing fanbase, substantial international press, metal/hard rock radio and MTV's Headbanger’s Ball. In 2004, the band returned to MTV programming, clocking in regular and repeated rotation with “Can You Feel It.

“All That Remains have worked their balls off for years, touring the world playing second fiddle to a variety of like-minded bands and rustling up a decent following in the process. What they’ve also done is sharpen up their skills to the point where The Fall of Ideals bears all the hallmarks of a classic.” KKKKK – Kerrang

“This album is easily one of the top five heavy music records of 2006…get ready to spin your head around until you damage cervical vertebrae, numbers two and three.” – Metal Edge
