  • Metalcamp news

    SATYRICON and PAIN confirmed

"Diabolical Now!" is possibly the last thing you'll hear, before the minions of Hell come over Tolmin and ravage and desecrate all that's left after the 7 days of Armageddon, normally called Metal Camp. Yes, finally, Frost and Satyr (along with their touring disciples) will show that Pentagram burns high and the flames shall be seen as they spew forth to the mountains. It is the Rite of their Cross and soon you shall feel the cold touch of Mother Nord as you become their Fuel for Hatred. A supersonic journey from these masters that have shown worthy of being highly acclaimed among the others of their kind. Metal Camp beware - The pentagram burns! The cold touch of annihilation is upon us!

The Devil wears many faces, and so does this man. Peter Tagtgren will again honour the stage of Metalcamp with his presence, this time incarnated as Pain. Pain has a face - Peter Tagtgren will show it to you. Although Metalcamp crowds have already become acquainted with many forms of metal, Pain's distinguishing characteristics will show that there is more than meets the eye. Conveyor of cold technology, ambassador of dementia, Pain shall sever the world with its new effort, Psalms of Extinction. Already claiming its disciples all over the graveyard Earth, the diabolical form known as Pain is much welcome to open the gates to Hell over Paradise. The apostle of abhorrence is here and Pain will lead you to his supper. The last one you shall ever taste...

It is not often that a band comes along that can be compared to any number of bands yet embody each of them equally. This is what Tucson’s The American Black Lung brings to the table. The band’s sound is part early Black Flag, part Iggy Pop, part The Bronx, and part The Hellacopters. “An incendiary mix of hardore, hardrock, with a dollop of garage rock and a sliver of metal thrown in for good measure,” says All Music Guide. Having recently signed with Laguna Beach’s Uprising Records, The American Black Lung is poised to release their sophomore effort Sudden Departure Of Vultures on July 10.

Since forming in 2003, The American Black Lung has toured North America and Europe numerous times with the likes of MXPX, Further Seems Forever, and Valient Thor among many others. This summer looks to be no different as the band will be taking their captivating, sweat-drenched live show on the road with The Bled and then return to the Warped Tour for the second year in a row. The American Black Lung came together as a group of friends looking to pay homage to their music that has influenced them and molded them into the people they are today. The band is comprised of Johnny Detroit (guitars), Dusty Rhoads (bass), Easy E (guitars), W. Moon (drums), and Diamond Rhino shedding on vocals. With the band’s stock already rising steadily, make no doubt the release of Sudden Departure Of Vultures will take The American Black Lung to the next level.

  • KING DIAMOND To Headline Norway's SCREAMFEST

KING DIAMOND has been confirmed as the headliner of Oslo, Norway's Screamfest, set to take place on Saturday, November 3. The group's schedule is now shaping up as follows:

    Oct. 17 - Aarhus, Denmark @ Voxhall
    Oct. 19 - Malmo, Sweden @ KB
    Oct. 20 - Copenhagen, Denmark @ Amager Bio *
    Oct. 29 - Stockholm, Sweden @ Klubben
    Oct. 31 - Gothenburg, Sweden @ Tradgarn
Nov. 02 - Linkoping, Sweden @ Koncert & Kongres (Metal Massacre III)
Nov. 03 - Oslo, Norway @ Betong (Screamfest)

The cover artwork for KING DIAMOND's long-awaited new album, "Give Me Your Soul ... Please", has been posted online at this location.

Revolver magazine recently reported that KING DIAMOND's new CD was inspired by a painting called "My Mother's Eyes" which the band's distributor in Denmark stumbled across while surfing the Net (and which Diamond has since bought for the new CD cover). The more Diamond looked at the image of a battered blond girl with blood covering her white dress, holding out palms affixed with protruding eyeballs, the more it captivated and inspired him. "I can feel the energy of the front cover in all the songs we wrote, and it will definitely affect my lyrics," he promised.

KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque recently returned home to Sweden after "a very heavy and intense mixing session" in Dallas, Texas with King Diamond on "Give Me Your Soul ... Please". "It's definitely the best songs and production we've had in years!" Andy told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "A rollercoaster of atmospheres and horror is a good way of describing" the new CD.

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please", will be released in North America on June 26 via Metal Blade Records. Massacre Records will issue the album in Germany on June 29.

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" track listing
    (songwriting credits included):

    01. The Dead (King)
    02. Never Ending Hill (Andy)
    03. Is Anybody Here? (King)

    05. Mirror, Mirror (King)
    06. The Cellar (Andy)
    07. Pictures in Red (Andy)
    08. Gimme Your Soul (King)
    09. The Floating Head (Andy)
    10. Cold as Ice (King)
    11. Shapes of Black (King)
    12. The Girl in The Bloody Dress (King)
    13. Moving On (King)

Diamond wrote the music for the new album from December 2005 through February 2006, then recorded the basic tracks in his basement.

"It classes over anything I've ever done," Diamond beamed. "The arrangements are more intricate, the production is better, and for the parts where there are violins, it sounds like we hired the Royal Philharmonic."

    KING DIAMOND current lineup:

    King Diamond - Vocals
    Andy La Rocque - Guitar
    Mike Wead - Guitar
    Hal Patino - Bass
    Matt Thompson - Drums

KING DIAMOND in 2005 completed a U.S. tour with NILE, BEHEMOTH and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. A live CD, "Deadly Lullabyes Live", was issued in 2004.

  • GERMAN thrash kings KREATOR will headline this year's DAMNATION FESTIVAL.

The metal legends will raise the flag of hate at the UK's premier metal event with a full slot which will do their impressive back catalogue justice. They will be joined by US punk metallers AMEN and a triple bill of black and death metal talent in KATAKLYSM, 1349 and ABORTED.

UK doom will also be showcased in the shape of ORANGE GOBLIN who plan to plunder the country in support of their Healing Through Fire album. The stunning haul of diverse acts is just the first batch of the 18 bands who will grace the stage at Damnation Festival, in Leeds Met Uni, on Saturday October 20.

And Aborted already have their sights on invading a Terrorizer Stage bill which will include some of the UK's finest homegrown live performers.

Frontman Sven de Caluwé said: "It's been in the pipelines for way too long and we are glad to announce to our UK fans out there that we ARE coming over in October on tour and are thrilled to be booked on the DAMNATION FESTIVAL in Leeds.

"Hopefully we'll see a lot of you guys out there and get pissed!

"This should be a good dose of fun since these will be the first UK dates with Danny boy. Cheers!"

2007 will top an incredible history that includes The Haunted, Entombed, Raging Speedhorn, Sikth, Akercocke, Skindred and a farewell show by hardcore favourites Stampin' Ground.

More top bands and a slew of British talent will be announced over the coming months for what is set to be the biggest, loudest Damnation Festival yet.

Tickets prices will be kept to 19.50GPB for the first few weeks as a small thanks to the dedicated fans who have supported Damnation festival since 2005. In June the ticket price will rise to 22GPB.

Festival spokesman Gavin McInally said: "There's nothing in the country that will buy you more pleasure for that price, not even in Soho!

"To have a band like Kreator - who grace main stages at some of the world's biggest festivals - play at Damnation is pretty special and with the likes of Amen coming across for their first UK show in years, the Jagermeister Stage will be a bill which is second to none.

"As for the Terrorizer Stage, the triple headline bill of Aborted, 1349 and Kataklysm is just the beginning of how ugly and extreme it is going to get throughout the day.

"It's also great to land Orange Goblin, our fans have been patient in their wait for some quality doom at Damnation, and we're glad to finally oblige.

"As a thanks for all their support, cheap ‘early bird’ style tickets will be on sale for a month, after that we'll be forced to bump the prices up a few pounds to stay in business!”

"Our community means everything to this festival and we hope Damnation Festival 2007 does them proud.

"Genuinely, by the fans, for the fans!" Tickets for Damnation Festival 2007 will go on sale on Monday, May 14 at 9am.

They will be priced at 19.50GPB until Monday, June 11 and 22GPB thereafter and will be available through http://www.seetickets.com or http://www.ticketline.co.uk/

And in person at Manchester's Piccadilly Box Office and Liverpool's Radio City Box Office.

June 9th, 2007

A friend of mine asked me…(Weedeater???) YOU DARED??

After a long and arguably grueling courtship, Southern Lord is finally harmoniously involved with North Carolinas’ filthiest, and finest heathens: WEEDEATER! Some of you may remember their appalling and compelling appearance at the Southern Lord South by Southwest showcase in 2003, and track on the very first Southern Lord label compilation: “Let There Be Doom”. Well now this summer…we are stoked to be bringing you their Lord debut album “God Luck and Good Speed”.

The album was recorded in Jan. and Feb. of this year in Chicago at Electrical Audio with Steve Albini at the controls. The result is massive, mammoth and crushing! To compliment the audio, artist Arik Roper (Sleep, High on Fire etc..) will be handling graphic art duties. Please have a shot of whiskey in honor of this glorious moment.

  • ARCKANUM is proud to be in alliance with Carnal Records.

The new ARCKANUM album “ANTIKOSMOS” will be recorded during the summer of 2007! A release date will come during that time.

After huge delays of the full length “Faunaz Samgang”, ARCKANUM decided to re-write the album and re-title it to “ANTIKOSMOS”. All the years which passed by I, Shamaatae, developed in a great amount personally and black magically, and by that ARCKANUM developed with me. And when I went through the material and concept of the lyrics I felt at once that this did not represent me or ARCKANUM anymore.

So I took the initiative to re-write the lyrics, which ended up reflecting my worship of the anti-cosmic thursian powers of the Old Norse religion, and my workings of the dark runes. I have re-written about half of the music, because I felt I could improve it, so I did.

The album will have eleven new and unreleased songs. And the album will as usual be released as a high quality CD and LP: Full of illustrations and black magical formulae. The LP version will have gatefold-cover and thick vinyl. There will also be some surprises along with the promotion of the album, so be sure to look for it on the websites of ARCKANUM and Carnal Records.

    Carnal Records:
  • HELRUNAR start recordings for "Baldr ok Íss"

Recently, HELRUNAR have entered Klangschmiede Studio E to record the follow-up to their stunning album "Frostnacht" (2005). Their new work, to be entitled "Baldr ok Íss", is bound to surpass its predecessor in terms of variability and sheer force. "The new records contains everything from dark, brutal Black Metal in the early Norwegian tradition to epic songs in the vein of Bathory, from rocking mid-tempo to delicate, fragile acoustic pieces and influences from archaic Norse folklore," Skald Draugir proudly puts on record.

One of the new tracks already has gained a special importance for HELRUNAR: 'Schwarzer Frost.' "This song, sound and lyrics and all, is nothing less than a hymn to the original Norwegian Black Metal," the band's vocalist and lyricist enthuses. "In an abstract way, the lyrics describe the emotions and experiences that, to us, were connected to the ‘discovery’ of this kind of music back then."
"Baldr ok Íss" is scheduled for release via Lupus Lounge in autumn 2007.

  • Herege - Remastered songs available only on Internet

The traditional heavy metal band HEREGE posted new versions of the songs "Call Me Herege" and "Flag of the Metal", originally released in the 2003 demo Rise of the Fair, Fall of the Church.

About the new songs the guitarist Dalton Castro, responsible for remastering them, comments: "...since those songs are really good and when we recorded them the production quality was low, I decided to add some details which make them to sound with more energy. Right now we decided to make these versions exclusive for Internet instead of adding as bonus, but maybe we do it in future editions."

The new versions are available in the band's website, www.herege.com and MySpace, www.myspace.com/heregemetal

Regarding the new cooperation Frank Watkins says, "we are very excited to be part of Candlelight Records. This will mark a new chapter in Death Metal history." John Tardy says, ""we are really looking forward to having a record company that wants to work with us. We feel rejuvenated and this new album is gonna be sick!" New confirmations: CRADLE OF FILTH, BORN FROM PAIN and DEADLOCK!

    Dear friends of METAL!!!

Things cannot get better. Is it possible that the door of Inferno will open when CRADLE OF FILTH will perform at Metal Camp? Yes, it is - the forces were summoned and the rituals were performed in order to reach these Cenobites. Demons to some - well, demons to the most. Danni and company have proven this filthy graveyard known as Earth that following your own blasphemous visions against all that stands for traditional metal, can pay off. It surely did for these British ambassadors of decadence, who with each release, live appearance, video and even mere pieces of merchandise are constantly proving that CRADLE OF FILTH is one of the most known abominations of the Hell that is here. One of? Mistake - the leading one! After the successful live appearances which were meant to promote the last album, the highly acclaimed THORNOGRAPHY, Cradle Of Filth returns especially just for you. After a whole week of metal, are they not a perfect flame, sparkling up to blow all of our remains to pieces? The Order of the Dragon is here ... Bow to the Cenobites, or embrace the Filth in which your rotting leftovers of so called "Soul" will surely bathe in, after the powers of decay will be done with you.

They are BORN FROM PAIN and pain is what they will bring to the Metalcamp. This highly acclaimed Dutch Battalion has much to show. Their hard work and dedication plus massive touring have portrayed them as a relentless force. Their second album WAR is more than just an album – it is a statement and this statement will be clearly seen when these guys hit the stage. In case you didn't know, Tolmin was one of the most devastating fronts in the World War 1 - with Born From Pain and their "This War Is Relentless" ethic, seen in their brutal sound and live appearance, the battles of the past shall re-emerge once again, leaving the Metalcamp a place, destroyed beyond any reason. War!!!

DEADLOCK - They have just unleashed THE WOLVES (literally) and they will storm Metal Camp also. 6 years of creating dark atmospheres mixed with musical extremities and combining beautiful female and a harsh male vocals, Deadlock are definitely a sight to be seen and a band to be remembered. Their live reputation proves that Deadlock is a force to be reckoned with, a passionate and a demonic creation, that will surely awake you if you even manage to find any decent sleep below the Tolmin's diabolical sun. Well, sleeping is for the dead - and Deadlock is a band who will send you to painful slumber after you perceive the Darkness in its purest and fatal form

Most up-and-coming metal bands use the word ‘intense’ to describe their sound and live show.

But after listening to the debut album from Autumn Black, ‘Beneath the Shadows,’ these folks are truly, no B.S., 100% i-n-t-e-n-s-e.

One of the first-ever releases for the newly launched Tyburn label, ‘Beneath the Shadows’ is sure to appeal to both metalheads and hardcore thrashers, as the group likes to describe their sound as ‘east coast metal + west coast hardcore = Autumn Black.’

Formed in 2004 and hailing from Los Angeles, California, Autumn Black is comprised of members Andrew Vargas (vocals), Ruben Platt (guitars, vocals), Jonathan Koch (guitars), Albert Platt (bass, backing vocals), and Christopher Daigle (drums).

“What separates us from a lot of bands is we attract a diverse crowd of hardcore and metal fans,” explains Platt. “This is a unique approach which is rather awesome cause everybody is there to hear what they want."

The group has been touring steadily in support of ‘Beneath the Shadows’ since its September 2006 release – with the intensity and emotion of such album standouts as “Ashes,” “Breathe for Me,” and the title track only proving more brutal in a live setting.

“Fans that like our sound usually say the same thing,” adds Daigle, “Which is you guys are different and kick ass!” The group continues to pile up the road miles and make believers/new fans at every gig, which leads to Vargas enthusing, “If you haven’t heard of us or even seen us live all I have to say is watch out!”

Confirmed Autumn Black live dates (with Psyopus):
06/17/07 - Roseville, MI - Myspace Internet Cafe
06/18/07 - Ft Wayne, IN - Sunset Hall
06/20/07 - Rapid City, SD - Trea Bingo Hall
    06/22/07 - Portland, OR - C Mt Tabor Legacy
06/23/07 - La Grande, OR - The Gadfly

BAND'S NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH POISON BEGINS JUNE 13LOS ANGELES -- After much speculation and anticipation following the airing of their "BEHIND THE MUSIC" episode on VH1 last spring, multiplatinum hard rock act RATT with vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Warren DeMartini and drummer Bobby Blotzer will grace the stage together for the first time since 1999. Plans for not only a U.S. summer tour but a full-fledged comeback are being mapped out now as the band prepares to hit the road with Poison. The band's own tour dates will extend into the fall and may also include shows in Canada, Europe, Japan, South America and Australia. Joining the band onstage will be bassist Robbie Crane and guitarist John Corabi.

A full itinerary is still being finalized, but Poison and RATT will join forces for a summer trek that is scheduled to begin June 13 at the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, S.C., and wind around the country through the end of August.

The tour, which brings the two bands onstage together for the first time since 1999, will visit major U.S. cities such as Boston, Detroit, New York, Oklahoma City and Los Angeles.

The band has recently aligned with Carl Stubner, CEO of Sanctuary Artist Management (ZZ Top, Mick Fleetwood/co-manager of Fleetwood Mac, Tommy Lee/Supernova, Paulina Rubio, Jack's Mannequin) and is booked by Jay Frey at Paradise Artists.

RATT made their mark in the early '80s going "Round And Round" with a string of hit songs, videos and four consecutive multiplatinum albums (over 16 million albums sold worldwide). Their arena-filling live shows set the standard for all bands to follow. Creating anthems for the youth of that era, their music and performances maintain a timeless quality to this day.

  • PROGPOWER USA Sold Out; Surprise Headline Set Announced

The organizers of the ProgPower USA festival have announced a surprise headline set for this year's sold-out edition of the internationally renowned festival. Saturday night (October 6) will now finish with an all-star cover set featuring vocalists from both the showcase and the festival. Each vocalist will be given the opportunity to perform 1-2 cover songs of their choice with the music being provided by the members of PAGAN'S MIND. Additional guests will join them throughout the set.

"The fans have made this festival a success and it's time to give something back to them," said ProgPower USA promoter Glenn Harveston. "I wanted to announce this after the sell-out as a reward instead of in advance as an incentive. It's going to be one hell of a party on stage."

As a result of the additional performance, there has been a major change in the schedule and door times. "I had to shake things up quite a bit to make this work," Harveston explained. "However, the fans can relax knowing that not one band will have a single minute cut from their previously announced set lengths."

The new schedule and door times can be found at the festival web site.

ProgPower USA VIII will once again return to Atlanta's Center Stage Oct. 5-6, 2007. The final billing is as follows (in alphabetical order):

Guitarist Stefan Weinerhall of the Swedish epic/power metallers FALCONER has issued the following update:

"We just extended our deal with Metal Blade for another four more albums. YAY!! We didn't see any reason to change label or even look over the fence since we're this content with the present situation and collaboration.

"The future plans consist of the festivals, of course, but also a studio recording sometime this winter.

"About the new material: So far I have seven new songs done, but there's still more work to them. Slightly faster and with more unexpected turns is all that I can say now. The lyrics will all be about Swedish medieval life and episodes. Not a concept album really but still something in that direction. What I decided early on what that it wouldn't become 'Northwind Pt. 2'. 'Northwind' is as good as it can be, therefore we'll make things a tad different this time. Can't wait until we're back in the studio again."

FALCONER's fifth studio album, "Northwind" — the group's first since the departure of singer Kristoffer Göbel and return of Mathias Blad — was released last September via Metal Blade Records.

Former IRON MAIDEN frontman Blaze Bayley will reunite with his first band WOLFSBANE for three songs after his solo set at the Rock of Ages Festival in Tamworth, England on September 9.

Bayley's new band, now called simply BLAZE BAYLEY, is as follows:

    Rico Banderra - Drums
Nick Bermudez (UNDER THREAT) - Guitar
David Bermudez (UNDER THREAT) - Bass
    Rich Newport - Guitar
    Blaze Bayley - Vocals

Alice is scheduled to appear on NBC-TV's "The Carson Daly Show" on April 30 and CBS-TV's "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on May 4.

Back in February, Alice Cooper's said his new album would be out in May, but it now appears that, while all the material is written, Cooper hasn't even started recording it yet. At this time, he's not expected to hit the studio until later this year, though nothing's set in stone — including the announced title, "Along Came a Spider".

Alice's annual world tour gets underway May 28 in Santiago, Chile, and he's got a U.K. tour in November. North American dates haven't been announced yet.

As previously reported, Cooper's autobiography, which is called "Alice Cooper, Golf Monster: A Rock 'N'Roller's 12 Steps To Becoming A Golf Addict", will be available on May 1.

With a title like that, it should be no surprise that Cooper told Launch his game is very strong. "Three handicap, and I play five times a week, and I play really good," he laughed. "Yeah, that's the one thing I can really do, other than Alice Cooper. That surprises people, I think. They just can't believe that Alice Cooper could be a three handicap, but I am." A three handicap means Cooper's score will be three strokes above whatever the course's par is.

John Gammon of Pollstar reports that the organizers of the Bilbao BBK Live Festival — which is scheduled to take place June 21-22 and June 28-29 in Bilbao, Euskal Herria, Spain — are expecting IRON MAIDEN's headline day alone to attract a sellout crowd of 35,000.

Bilbao BBK Live Festival added a fourth day and cut itself in half to fit around the tour schedules for IRON MAIDEN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, and METALLICA.

"We couldn't miss the opportunity to have those artists on the same festival," said Ibai Villapún, communications manager for promoter Last Tour International, explaining why the formerly three-day event now stretches across two weekends.

Last year, the first time Bilbao Live was staged, it attracted 43,616 people, but Villapún is expecting this year's longer bash to pull a total approaching 90,000.

  • HAWKWIND/THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL Bassist Releases Solo Album

HAWKWIND/THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL bassist Alan Davey has released his new solo album, entitled "Human on the Outside". According to a press release, "this is a brand new studio release that builds on combinations of hard rock and atmospheric ambiance that takes the listener on a journey that transcends time and space.

'Human on the Outside' is also a timely reminder of Alan's ability as a multi-talented instrumentalist featuring not only his highly regarded bass playing (he describes his style as 'playing like a rhythm or lead guitar') but also his synth and six-string guitar work. The album also includes a vocal contribution (on 'Glass Wolves') by his THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL colleague Metatron." "It's eclectic" notes Alan. "This album is way ahead of anything I've done before. There are deep, atmospheric, sounds and some really unusual rock numbers. It's still clearly me — but it sounds like nothing I've ever done before, it has a real filmic quality to it. I'm always stretching myself as a musician and trying to do something totally different, really experimenting with sounds. This one is really on the button."

  • HIMSA Complete Writing New Album; Commences Recording Process

HIMSA enters the studio today to begin recording their highly anticipated Century Media Records debut. The group will track the drums, bass and guitars with Steve Carter (who produced the Courting Tragedy and Disaster album); Devin Townsend (Lamb of God, Darkest Hour) will be tracking vocals and the renowned Tue Madsen (The Haunted) handling mixing duties. The album is currently set for a late August release.

Derek Harn (bass) states: "The new album draws from the strengths of our last two records, Courting Tragedy and Disaster and Hail Horror, but this is an entirely new chapter for HIMSA and our fans. Sammi Curr (guitars) wrote a lot of the music for Courting, and Kirby Johnson (guitars) wrote most of the tracks on Hail Horror (when Sammi wasn't in the band), so the two of them have joined forces to craft a whole new level of rage. We're looking at about 10 or 11 songs right now, and are extremely proud of them.
"We are stoked to be collaborating with the aural assault team of Steve Carter, Devin Townsend and Tue Madsen. These are guys we trust and respect. We worked with Steve on Courting. We did Hail Horror with Tue. Devin is the new factor in all of this. He's doing the vocal tracking, and we're looking forward to his searing, manic, vocal skills giving new dimension to Pettibone's throaty mayhem.

"This album will be an evolution of everything people have grown to expect and respect from our enduring and grumpy metal band, with a few new twists. We're older, but we're wiser and faster than ever. We can't wait to see our fans around the globe this fall. Till then, stay true and keep the horns raised high."

This Seattle-based metal quintet's ferocious blend of melodic, unrelenting thrash speed mixed with old-school influences results in a savage, unique and uncompromising sound that the entire genre will soon welcome with open arms.

In 2007, HIMSA prepares to leave their definitive mark on the scene while ushering in a new level of extreme.

  • ARCTURUS Rumored To Have Split Up

Rumors are running rampant that Norwegian extreme metal band ARCTURUS has decided to call it quits following the completion of its recent Australian tour. According to unconfirmed reports from fans that attended ARCTURUS' March 31 concert in Melbourne, ARCTURUS vocalist Simen Hestnaes (a.k.a. ICS Vortex, DIMMU BORGIR, ex-BORKNAGAR, LAMENTED SOULS) announced from the stage that the gig was to be the band's last.

An Australian ARCTURUS fan by the name of Vanessa posted on the band's official MySpace page a message that she claims to have received from the group's drummer Jan Axel "Hellhammer" Blomberg (also of DIMMU BORGIR and MAYHEM) confirming the breakup. In the e-mail, Hellhammer purportedly wrote, "Yes, we are splitting up. There is no more time for all of us as everyone [is] extremely busy. But there has been some killer 16 years or so. See you next time with MAYHEM or DIMMU, and those bands [are] not likely [to] split up any time soon."

ARCTURUS has yet to issue an official statement confirming the breakup.
  • Vorkuta’s “Into The Chasm of Lunacy” CD/TS is now available!

Vorkuta from Hungary play a cold and desecrating form of Black Metal. At times attaining the atmosphere of "Blood, Fire, Death"era Bathory as well as the traditional style of Black Metal found on Darkthrone's "Total Death" album. We have also printed a limited amount of shirts for the Vorkuta album, all printed in silver ink.

Formed as a re-incarnation of the notorious thrash metal outfit “Vengeance Rising”, L.A.’s Once Dead boasts a refreshing dose of old school thrash metal, combined with a triple guitar assault and a lineup of seasoned musical veterans. All of the members have impressive musical resumes, with high profile acts under their belts such as Deliverance, Fasedown, Hirax, Sircle of Silence, The Blamed and The Crucified. The band was formed when Vengeance Rising members Larry Farkas and Doug Thieme along with bass player Roger Dale and drummer Glen Mancaruso did a gig at the “Summer Madness” event in August of 2004 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California . Appearing as guest vocalist would be none other than Scott Waters of Ultimatum. Under the threat of legal action from the absent Roger Martinez, the band changed their name to “Once Dead”. A DVD of this show would be recorded, and would have sustained interest, which would lead the band to a spot on the Cornerstone festival in 2005. During this time, various personnel changes were to occur, with ex-Vengeance Rising and Hirax member Glenn Rogers joining the group in January 2006, and Scott Waters leaving the front man position, to be replaced by Devin Shaeffer of Fasedown. The lineup was to be completed by ex Hirax member Angelo Espino, and Jim Chaffin on drums.

Once Dead is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their debut album, “Visions of Hell” for Open Grave Records.

A world wide release date has been set for August 28th 2007.
