- DARKEST SEED finishing recordings of the debut album
- The heavy/hard band DARKEST SEED recently finished the recordings
of drums and guitars of their new album, which shall be released in
the next few months. Right now the group is going to record vocals and
bass, then begin the mix and mastering process to finish the album,
which is being produced by Roger Fingle (Blood Tears and Seduced by
Suicide) at Nitro Sound Solutions studio.
About the recordings the guitarist Ricardo Reolon (ex-Burning In Hell),
comments: "The recordings of guitars and drums were fine and pleased
us very much. Since we had lots of rehearsals before entering in studio,
we didn't have any problem when recording. Now we are going to record
bass ans vocals, then begin the mix and mastering. We are very anxious
to see this album ready and to show everyone the power of Darkest Seed
songs".
Recently the band posted online a promotional EP called "The Seed
is Rising", which has two new songs and a cover for the hit "The

- NEW BRAINCHOKE ALBUM TO BE RELEASED...
UK grinders BRAINCHOKE have set the release date for their new album,
'Introspective', for July 7th. The album is self released and will be
officially distributed by Grindethic Records and Code 7 via Phd. The
release is an idiosyncratic blast of old school grindcore mixing the
traditional sound of bands like Napalm Death and Nasum with some more
unique elements including black metal-tinged sections, banjos, heavy
metal solos and some good old fashioned toe-tapping melodies.
Production for the album was handled by Danny B, a member of the cult
South American thrash band CRIMINAL.

- KYPCK join Century Media Records!
KYPCK (or 'Kursk' in the western alphabet) is a Finnish doomsday metal
band singing in Russian.
KYPCK's crew features vocalist E. Seppänen, guitarist S. S. Lopakka
(formerly Sentenced), bassist J. T. Ylä-Rautio and drummer K. H.
M. Hiilesmaa who is also known as the producer of HIM, Lordi, Sentenced,
Moonspell, Apocalyptica and many others. It was only logical that Hiilesmaa
was also in charge of KYPCK's heavy and (in its original sense) grinding
production. E. Seppänen has lived in Russia for 2,5 years, studied
in St. Petersburg and worked at the embassy in Moscow. He recently got
his degree from Oxford, and as a part time job teaches Russian in Tampere,
Finland. Hence, he is more than legitimate to sing in Russian.
The band's debut downfall, the full-length album entitled "Cherno",
was completed during 2007 and originally released through the Finnish
label UHO Production in March 2008. Despite the album’s crushing,
doomy nature and Russian lyrics, it went straight to #11 in the Finnish
charts. “Cherno” will finally be out in the rest of Europe
via Century Media Records on the following dates:

along with a really great crew of folks that made the whole thing run.
I feel honored and blessed to have been involved with it and I hope
that the future generations of extreme metal bands will look back on

In the 12 years that the band operated, we saw the best and the worst
the industry had to offer... from 2 month tours in the winter with no
money in a beat up van (you know the type), to summer festival tours
playing to tens of thousands of people in the nicest busses available.
We really covered the gamut. We played a barn in Carmel Saskatchewan
to 12 people, and were the only Western band to play the 2002 World
Cup in Korea, televised to 3 million viewers. We toured Australia 7
times, with a few mindblowing trips to Japan as well. From the inaugural
'Sounds Of The Underground' tour in America, we also played many many
shows in Europe, touring with every elite metal band of the time. The

- SOTHIS Candlelight debut release date set

Candlelight Records confirms September 2 as the American release date
for De Oppresso Liber, the full-length debut from Los Angeles-based
black metal band Sothis. Recorded in Los Angeles and mixed in Sweden
by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) the album includes nine new original
songs. The band is Candlelight's latest American acquisition, a strong
focus of artist development for the London-based label.
Founding member Dross (drums) says of the new album, "If you are
into aggressive, polished black metal that is well executed then you’re
going to love De Oppresso Liber. We’ve been able to capture some
incredible performances and couple them with some very talented engineers.
We wanted to make a record that we would be genuinely proud of and we’ve
accomplished that.”
A fixture on the Los Angeles area, Sothis released through independent
channels their four-song mini-album in late 2004. Finding the immediate
attention of Revolver, Canada's Brave Words Bloody Knuckles, who called
the recording "fierce in every aspect, Sothis instantly captures
their listeners' hearts and and souls... behold the next big black metal
band," and England's Zero Tolerance, the recording triggered a
very active and productive period for the five-piece. A regional tour
was set up with performances throughout the Southwest; the shows inspiring
two limited-release dvds that capture the band's impressive stage personnae.

has seen over 10,000 views since its premiere and further showcases
their commanding live performance.
Featuring vocalist Drogoth, guitarists Scathe and Nylock, keyboardist

- CURSED Paypal Address Set Up To Help With Robbery Costs
Dear Media Friends,
As many of you are well aware of, the Goodfellow Records band CURSED
was robbed on the second-to-last day of their recent European tour of
all of their tour earnings, some of their passports, etc. This included
the money that was set aside to pay for all costs of the tour (backline
rental, van, etc). If you want more information on what has happened,

- KLIMT 1918 soundtrack for the cassette generation
Three years after their successful album "Dopoguerra", Italy's
probably most thriving band at the intersection of indie, post rock
and new wave, KLIMT 1918, have finished recording their third album.
This work with the picturesque title "Just In Case We'll Never
Meet Again (Soundtrack For The Cassette Generation)" once more
contains epic and excellently produced songs brought to life by an amazing
passion and energy and characterized by a mood of bittersweet nostalgia,

GOJIRA IN STUDIO, FINISHING WORK ON THE WAY OF ALL FLESH
Gojira is currently recording the follow-up to From Mars To Sirius at
Studio Des Milans in France (with drums recorded in Los Angeles with
Logan Mader). The new album, titled The Way of All Flesh, is set for
an October release on Prosthetic Records (specific date TBA). Gojira
will do their first US headline tour this fall; previous US dates have
been with Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God and Behemoth. The band recently
announced an October European tour supporting In Flames.

SONIC SYNDICATE recently completed a very successful tour with Nightwish
in North America in support of their latest album, Only Inhuman.
The band are about to play Europe's biggest festivals this summer and

SONIC SYNDICATE have revealed the title of their new record, the follow-up

- WINTERSUN - BAND + NEW ALBUM UPDATE
WINTERSUN, the Finnish band led by former ENSIFERUM singer Jari Mäenpää,
has issued the following update:
"It's been over a year since our last update. We are very sorry
for that, but there's also a good reason. We have been struggling with
the new album [tentatively titled Time] more than enough and the main
reason in the last year has been with lots of computer problems. We
had to do this album in a way that Jari finishes the album at his home
studio, when the drums, bass and rhythm guitars were done at Sonic Pump
Studios.
We didn't predict how much problems this would bring us more. This is
the first time when we work like this and were very too 'green' understanding
what it takes from the computer to handle hundreds of audio and midi
tracks. For fast and efficient composing of the orchestrations you need
lots of horsepower from the computer. It's a must have to get as many
VST instruments running realtime as possible. And for this you need
lots of RAM, but there's a 4GB limit in 32bit apps, so this has been
really painful for Jari. So we are hoping that the change to 64bit era
will happen soon, which will put an end to this RAM limit misery. And
also with more powerful processors give us the freedom to write and
record albums much faster for you!
"Thank god we got Nuclear Blast to help us! We have now a new powerful
computer and things seem to work much better now. Also we have to thank
a lot our manager Stefan Hattinger from Rock The Nation for being so
patient with us and helping all the time! Also we want to thank you
fans for being so patient and understanding!
"Last year hasn't really been easy for us, but now there's some
light in the end of the tunnel. We will get back to you all as soon
as we know more about how things are evolving. We really don't want
to disappoint everybody again by promising a release date, because we've
seen how it has gone before. But we promise to do our best and get this
album done as soon as the conditions let us. We will play at Metalcamp
[in Slovenia] in July anyway, but that's the only show we do this summer.
We will concentrate finishing the album and then go back on the road."
Songtitles set to appear on Time include "Sons of Winter and Stars,"
"Land of Snow and Sorrow," "Time," "Fire,"
"One with the Shadows," "Storm" and "Silver
Leaves".
The band previously described the upcoming album as containing "seven
epic songs and quite long ones. It's a theme album. The music has some
new dimensions, but has also the recognizable 'WINTERSUN style.'"

HOLLYWOOD – Once again the dark passages of John 5s mind worked
over time to bring to you another outstanding macabre instrumental.
REQUIEM is John 5s fourth solo album came out June 3rd on 60 Cycle Hum.
By definition REQUIEM is prayer for the salvation of the soul(s) of
the departed, REQUIEM is also the title of various musical compositions
used in such liturgical services. In the case of John 5, REQUIEM is
a mind-blowing, sinister guitar instrumental with song titles named
after torture devices. “I find the macabre fascinating, it’s
all over history. In researching the torture devices I heard music to
describe each one,” explains John 5.
John 5 performs all instruments with the exception of the time-keeping
by Zombie band-mate Tommy Clufetos (drums). The album was recorded in
the middle of night that lent a cool vibe and only time John 5 had studio
times. Most of the songs are 12–13 minutes long so John 5 decided
to put in markers to divide them up so when songs change from track
to track it seems to meld in to each other.
John 5 has created a worldwide following as a widely respected guitarist
with such platinum artists as Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth, Rob Halford
and now an integral member of Rob Zombie. John 5’s eclectic influences
combine for a truly unique guitar oriented record that once again sets
new standards in the genre.

Druidi have signed a worldwide record deal. Kivimetsän Druidi,

in Turku in order to record their forthcoming debut album due to be
released at the end of October 2008.

- CIRRHA NIVA ENTERS STUDIO
JUNE 11 2008, next week Dutch progressive metalband Cirrha Niva will
enter the studio to record their new album.
After an intense process of exploring new directions in song writing
and band line up, Cirrha Niva is ready to record a new collection of
fine progressive metal songs. It will be the first release for the band
with new vocalist Michel LeGrand. The band is very confident about Michel’s
voice and influences, which has lifted the band’s sounds to a
complete higher level.
The upcoming yet untitled album will become Cirrha Niva’s first
new release after their 2001 rock opera album "Liaison De La Morte"
(distributed by Suburban rec (Eu), & The End Records (usa). The
band has put their earlier theatrical en gothic influences aside in
order to develop into a modern style and sound. In the new songs influences
and cross references can be made with names like Faith no More, Opeth,
Psychotic Waltz, Meshugga or even the Beegees to the Banshees....
Raw melancholic metal riffs, groovy drums and dark grunts will be enlightened
with the powerful clean sometimes almost poppy and soulful, lead vocals
of Michel LeGrand. Plural chorus lines by the other band members and
guest vocalists will complete a wide range of sound. Demo outtakes of

The complete album will be recorded & produced under the experienced
guidance of producers Jochem Jacobs and Bouke Visser at Split Second

- VOETSEK sign to Selfmadegod Records
San Francisco thrashers Voetsek (Athena Dread/bass, Ami Lawless/vocals,
Jef Leppard/guitar, Scotty Karate/drums, Ben Reduction/guitar) have
signed an album deal with Selfmadegod Records to release their brand-new
full length entitled Infernal Command. The album consists of 17 fast
tracks mixing Bay Area Fastcore/Power violence (Spazz, Capitalist Casualities)
and Bay Area Thrash Metal (Vio-lence, Death Angel).
Voetsek drummer Scotty comments on it: "The new album has definitely
more developed sound and thought out songs than our previous stuff but
still the same killer fastcore thrash."

Infernal Command has been recorded at Lennon Studios and mastered at

Sound Pollution, MCR, Torture Garden, Haunted Hotel and more. The band
has toured the US extensively and in summer 2007 took on Japan with
Capitalist Casualties.
Infernal Command is set for July 2008 release on CD via Selfmadegod
and LP via Voetsek's own Tank Crimes in the States and Fast & Furious
from Holland. In support of the album Voetsek will tour extensively

Orange the Juice are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming
debut album ‘You Name It’ set for release on ARS MUNDI June
20th 2008. The band have just decided on the person responsible for
the cover art of the album.
It is going to be Adam Chylinski of TOFU Studio. Chylinski, a graduate
from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland, a painter and filmmaker
is the author of many projects presented and awarded at numerous national
art festivals. All his works attempt at combining unique graphic creation
and communicative simplicity.
Orange the Juice are from Stalowa Wola, Poland. The current line-up
is: Konrad Zawadzki – vocals, Dawid Lewandowski – guitar;
Mariusz Godzina – saxophones; Marcin A. Steczkowski – keyboards,
trumpet; Jan Kiedrzyn´ski – drums, Mariusz Szmuc –
bass guitar.
The band have been rewarded and honored at numerous Polish music contests
like ‘The Young Wolves 2006’, ‘Demolka 2004’,
‘Mayday Rock Festival’, ‘Rockowania 2004’ or
‘Rock Highway 2007’.
Orange the Juice have also been invited to perform at this year’s
star-studded Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary.

- SIX FEET UNDER enters the studio//update from the band!
“HELLO AGAIN FROM MORRISOUND IN TAMPA, FL!!
We have, so far, completed all of the drum tracks for the new cd. Greg
did an awesome job laying the drums down - powerful, very powerful!!
Very big thanks to Bill Metoyer for all his help with getting some great
drum tones.
Terry and Steve have been tracking guitars all week, and are pretty
close to completion of the rhythm tracks. Steve worked through this
past weekend tracking the lead guitar sections - there are lots of leads
on this one! Big thanks to KXK Guitars for the new axes that Steve and
Terry are using on this recording. Really great sounding guitars!
After the basic tracks are completed, I will be heading down to Miami
for my vocal tracks, along with Chris Carroll at the helm. I’m
really looking forward to getting back to the Hit Factory - it is the
most important recording studio in the history of rock ‘n roll.
I am so honored to have been recording my vocals there for the past
several years, and to be included with all of the greats that have recorded
at the Hit Factory. Looking forward to another killer session!!!

ANIMA are busy recording their debut album for Metal Blade. It will
be a hot and sweaty summer, that´s for sure!
“We entered the Rape Of Harmonies studio in Triptis the 11th of
May to record guitars and bass for the yet untitled album which is going
to be released in July/August. Together with Alexander Dietz (Heaven
Shall Burn) we started recording the guitars and the recordings were
just as funny as professional. Work was done quckly so we continued
with the bass. Together with Patrick W. Engel and Ralf Müller this
happened just within a day so we could travel home this past Thursday.
We are happy we had been given the opportunity to record in the Rape
Of Harmonies with Ralf Müller, Alexander Dietz and Patrick W. Engel.
We will continue with the vocal recordings in early June – together
with Sebastian Reichl (Deadlock) at the helm.

to create a new red wine signature blend called Geoff Tate "Insania."

- CHROME DIVISION - REVEAL NEW ALBUM COVER + TRACK!
"Booze, Broads And Beelzebub," the title track of the forthcoming
sophomore album from CHROME DIVISION, the Norwegian five-piece featuring
DIMMU BORGIR frontman Shagrath (a.k.a. Stian Thoresen), is available
for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
Booze, Broads and Beelzebub was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden
during January 2008 and contains a dozen or so tracks, including a cover
of a classic ZZ TOP tune.
The material is described by the band as "a bit more varied than
on Doomsday Rock 'n Roll. A bit more metal, more fast stuff, but still
the basics in filthy rock 'n' roll."
North American release date to be announced soon!
Doomsday Rock 'n' Roll landed on the Norwegian album chart at position
No. 31 back in 2006. The disc was recorded in Oslo, Norway, last winter
and contains a musical direction described by the band as "stripped
down groovy rock 'n' roll with a primitive attitude."

For immediate release:
SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY, Tampa's own misanthropic
monolith, penned a deal with Nuclear Blast Records in January of 2008
after extensive touring for their debut EP, "Subhuman Empire",
available via Debello Recordings. Guitarist Ian Sturgill speaks on what
is to be expected of their first full-length LP titled "The Grand
Partition and the Abrogation of Idolatry", produced by James Murphy
(Testament, Obituary, Disincarnate):
"We have taken great care to make this album as completely pissed-off
as humanly possible. This music has become more than what we could have
ever hoped it could be. Our EP was recorded roughly 3 weeks after the
band's formation; this recording, with more jams under our belt and
James at the helm, is to be experienced by the listener as we had always
intended. We're here to make Metal fucking scary again. That being said,
onto the lyrical content:
It is our firm belief that the currently accepted beliefs and their
subsequent courses of action are instrumental in the tumultuous times
in which we are living. The slow hypnosis and systematic retrograde
of the general population is coming to a very ugly head. It is only
through a radical overhaul in the current human paradigm that we may
be able to avoid what very well could result in our self destruction;
or at very best, our total enslavement. It is now more important than
ever that we observe our history and endeavor to avoid our prior mistakes.
There is a human tendency to point fingers in times like these. When
the human animal observes that which it does not understand or is at
odds with, the common reaction is to become the polar opposite of that
which it despises; in this Left/Right/Black/White thought and response

ranks... and divide ourselves we do; by border, race, faction, genre,
culture, rank, blood and class. But who then indeed, is our enemy?
The powers of thought, speech and action are grossly underestimated
due to the debasement of mankind.
'The Grand Partition...' is a dire reminder than we are the clearest
and most direct danger to ourselves."
Pre-production has been completed for "The Grand Partition and
the Abrogation of Idolatry". Drum tracking will begin in June at
Hollow Studios in Rockland County, NY.
