  • GodHateCode sign with Maintain Records

2008 is going to be heavy! We are glad to welcome the mighty Death Metal ordnance GodHateCode in our family. Even though the album "Aeons", which will be out in early 2008, is a debut release, the names behind that international heavy-formation are not unknown: behind the drums is no one else but the Swedish ex-GRAVE/COERCION drummer Pelle Ekegren, moreover are the Austrians Wolfgang Rothbauer (THIRDMOON, IN SLUMBER) and Armin Schweiger (DISTASTE) on board. For a short time, the quartet is completed by Tana (Antonio Carlos Rodriguez Espigares), who is also playing Bass in the Spanish band AVULSED.

With these musicians, the musical concept of the band is quite obvious: "old-school death-metal meets modern and straight in the face brutality!", as described by the band itself.

GodHateCode is by no means a pure studio allstars project, for international touring is definitely planned for the next year.

By then, and until the release of "Aeons", you can blast your ears away with a first sample of the recording sessions, available on the band´s myspace profile.

Deemed one of metal’s most important heritage bands for the lasting – and ongoing - contributions they’ve made to the creation and sustenance of the thrash metal genre, it is only apt that the first EXODUS video in support of their recently released, Billboard Heatseekers-charting album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A, would be visually pummeling. The band’s video for “Riot Act,” directed by Jon Schnepp of Metalocalypse (on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim) for Schneppzone Inc., will debut online this Friday, December 7th on the Headbangers Blog website and on-air on Saturday, December 8th on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball (check local listings for show times).

Calling in from a helicopter somewhere over Santa Monica, Jon Schnepp had this to say about his experience working with EXODUS:

“I had an AMAZING time working with ALL those guys – Gary, Rob, Jack, Lee, and Tom… they’re all GREAT. They did a FANTASTIC job and made it a really fun shoot. They were FULL of energy with EVERY take and you really can’t ask for more than that!”

“We went out on a limb and asked Jon if he'd shoot our video,” reminisces EXODUS guitarist/songwriter/founding member Gary Holt. “When he said yes, we were stoked to say the least. The ideas he came up with made this our best video ever! I usually hate making videos, but this time I was actually excited about it! It’s unique, and of course, it’s heavy! We’re happy to see how things have been going for the new record. Number 23 on the Heatseekers chart - pretty killer indeed! Now it’s time to hit the road and play these songs – that’s what I’M talking about!!!”

EXODUS will be launching a North American tour in support of The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A on January 20th, 2008 in Bakersfield, California with Goatwhore, Arsis, and Warbringer that will culminate in a hometown show in San Francisco on February 24th at Slim’s.

"I'm not entirely sure if I can convey how truly beautiful parts of this album are, while still retaining a 'metalness' that fans of some of the bands above can still appreciate... Grayceon is absolutely fucking fantastic and early contender for my album of the year." - Digitalmetal.com

"Grayceon have released an inventive and vivid debut that easily bests most metal released this year. Looks like Vendlus Records has gotten another good start in 2007. Highly recommended." - Metalreview.com

  • KYLESA to tour Europe with Baroness in early 2008

Savannah, Ga. sludge rockers KYLESA will return to Europe in late January alongside fellow Georgians Baroness for nearly a month of live shows, returning to the old world for the first time since 2006. The band continues to support its latest effort, 'Time Will Fuse Its Worth,' which spawned the Dave Brodsky-directed video for "Hollow Severer" - available online here and at video outlets across the country.

"When viewed on Headbanger's Ball in the context of other heavy music videos, I think that our video will offer something a little different than the average live footage video," guitarist/singer Laura Pleasants has said. "The depiction of the narration is abstracted and literal with the use of simple claymation and an overall raw energy is captured by David and Allie of My Good Eye (Goatwhore, The Acacia Strain). They were great and easy to work with and we hope to work with them again in the future."

Having already toured alongside Genghis Tron, The Hidden Hand, Lacuna Coil, Modern Life Is War and Converge as well as appearing at Los Angeles Murderfest 3.0 and South By Southwest, KYLESA continues to support Time Will Fuse Its Worth. Recorded by KYLESA guitarist/vocalist Philip Cope, the record saw a late October 2006 release through Prosthetic Records.

  • WARBRINGER - post new video report online; shoot video for “Combat Shock”!

LA thrashers WARBRINGER recently stopped by the American Century Media office and issued the following video report. Click on the link below to see what the band has to say about their biggest influences, recording with the renowned Bill Metoyer (Slayer, D.R.I. and Sacred Reich) and touring with the legendary Exodus. Also, the clip contains scenes filmed during the band’s mini-gig at the Century Media warehouse, so check it out & get thrashed! Just click HERE!

The group’s much anticipated new effort, “War Without End”, will be released on February 28th, 2008 and guarantees a delicious Thrash Metal feast passionately reviving the sound of Baloff-era Exodus, Slayer’s “Hell Awaits”, and Kreator’s “Pleasure to Kill” for the 21st century in a strikingly inspired fashion.

WARBRINGER also shot their first promotional video over the weekend for the track, “Combat Shock,” with acclaimed director Dan Dobi (Cannibal Corpse). The video is a brutally intense performance based clip that perfectly showcases the band’s unrelenting live energy. Look for it to make its debut online early next year.

More info regarding WARBRINGER can be obtained at: www.myspace.com/warbringer!

There was a time – seemingly not long ago – that many rock bands seemed afraid to show off their ‘heavy metal side.’ This is where Slik Helvetika comes in - the group is an unashamed metal band to the bone, as evidenced by their recent EP, ‘Krypt Kicker 5.’ Issued via Screaming Ferret Wreckords and Metro City Records, the release touches upon all of the group’s influences, as the vocals and guitar work would undoubtedly make Rob Halford and Zakk Wylde mighty proud.

Led by singer/guitarist Mikhall Myers, the group – which also includes guitarist J. Lee Haven, bassist Kurt Wagenseil, and drummer Mark Bennett - has quickly created a name for themselves throughout the metal underground. Originally forming in 2005, Myers assembled the group after he had “Put the metal away for a while after escaping the woes of being signed by a major label throughout the 80's", while leading a band called Destroyer. By their time of maturity, musical trends had changed, and rather than playing a lackluster popular genre, "I decided not to be half-hearted, and waited until powerful and energetic music with balls would have a chance again. That time is now!”

Myers isn’t kidding, as Slik Helvetika is one mighty metallic beast, and such tracks as “Bastard” and “Pray for the Future” prove it. And they also break up the fury with several skits throughout ‘Krypt Kicker 5,’ which only adds to the intensity once they return with another hard hitter. Just don’t ask Myers to select a personal favorite. “Every song and skit on that disc is our favorite. We had to choose from 62 songs.” And it appears as though ‘Krypt Kicker 5’ is only the beginning for these metal diehards, as the next year will be a busy one for Slik Helvetika.

“We are looking at options to get on a tour in '08, and we hit the studio to begin recording our full-length new disc, titled ‘Slik, Six, Six,’ in January 2008. We again have a lot of material to choose from. It is "up in the air" what label will get the disc right now. We are also talking about licensing our underground self-titled debut.”

No doubt you will be hearing more from this fiercely rocking band in the coming months. And lastly, what’s up with the band’s moniker?

“The band's name means ‘Eat the Wovenesta’ in Siamese. Just kidding! First of all, it sounds cool. Now...everyone has a homework assignment and should find out what Confoederatio Helvetica means in Latin, why the Helvetican warriors were thought to be invincible in the 1500’s, and which Helvetii tribe made captive Roman soldiers pass under the yoke upon the victory in the battle of Gaul which enraged Caesar.”

  • THE FUNERAL PYRE prepares for West Coast tour with Book Of Black Earth

Los Angeles-based band THE FUNERAL PYRE will hit the road in January for a West Coast Tour alongside Seattle's Book of Black Earth. Starting in Seattle in early January, the package will head down to California before wrapping up. Currently writing new material for a forthcoming new album, THE FUNERAL PYRE will showcase a new song on the road alongside songs from the band's latest effort, 'The Nature of Betrayal,' which saw a March re-release through Prosthetic after a distribution deal with Creator Destructor records.

"We are finishing songs, playing them live and fine tuning what will be the 3rd installment in the Funeral Pyre career of metal," the band wrote recently on its blog. "It's been a long time already, to think that we're already on our 3rd record!? Nobody would have ever guessed we'd be here. I mean, we're not popular or anything, but hey, I like to think that we've accomplished a lot! If you have heard any of the new songs live, I'd really enjoy if you could give us some feedback about what you thought of them. These songs will be different than 'The Nature Of Betrayal' but yet the same...It's a big cycle we go through, you hear the same music, but it sounds different. How does that work? I'm not quite sure, but you will find out in 2008."

  • Stigma Completes Debut, Tracklisting Revealed

Italy's Stigma Completes Work On Debut, Reveals Tracklisting

Italy’s rising force in deathcore, STIGMA, has completed the recording process for their upcoming debut album, "When Midnight Strikes!", which is due out in spring 2008 through Pivotal Rockordings. Cover artwork, which was completed by Davide Nadalin, who has previously worked with NILE, THESHOLD, and THE DUSKFALL, can be seen here. Vocalist Vlad comments:

“We're thrilled about the final result! We knew Ettore [Rigotti] is an outstanding producer, but we never thought we could reach this level at only the first album! We've recorded everything at its best, using only killer stuff and added all the melodies, solos, atmospheres, insane breakdowns and horrific parts we dreamed about during the songwriting! When Midnight Strikes! is truly an amazing debut, and we really can't wait to offer you the chance to listen to it!"

"When Midnight Strikes!" features guest appearances from Tim Zlinsky (THE CLASSIC STRUGGLE), Alberto Zannier (SLOWMOTION APOCALYPSE), Ivan Odorico (SLOWMOTION APOCALYPSE), and Mike Lunacy (DARK LUNACY). And this is the main idea behind Metalcamp holidays- a festival with all possible metal genres and sub genres.

We are more than happy to announce one of the pioneers of German heavy metal scene, a band that everyone loves, and a band that carved their massage to all of us:

HELLOWEEN means a lot to heavy metal crowd. They represent the scene. It’s the name that has always been here, the name that we all grew up with and who taught us about real heavy metal. Helloween entertain us since 1985. In mid 80ies they started one of the most important legacies for the history of heavy metal. Their first era started with EPs ‘Helloween’ and ‘Judas’ and their first LP ‘Walls of Jericho’. This is when they introduced us with the first vision of melodic European speed metal.

They made the first line up change, got a new singer and this period sealed them as one of the most successful German heavy metal bands of all time. Young talented singer Michael Kiske joined Helloween in 1987 and recorded great albums as ‘Keeper of the 7 Keys’ in 1987 and ‘Keeper of the 7 keys Pt. 2’ in 1988.

Guitarist Kai Hansen decided to leave the band shortly after. But Helloween kept recording and put out ‘Pink Bubbles go Ape’ in 1991 and ‘Chameleon’ in 1993. A big change had to happen. Helloween experimented in different musical styles but soon, after Kiske left the band, returned to their original sound and style. Andi Deris joined Helloween in 1994 and they recoded the comeback album ‘Master of the Rings’. In 1996 they released another important album; ‘The Time of the Oath’ which is a tribute album, recorded in the memory of their long time drummer Ingo. Even more successful era followed with the release of ‘Better that Raw’ in 1998 and the millennium release ‘The Dark Ride’. In 2003 they had some more line up changes and released ‘Rabbit don’t Come Easy’. Helloween impressed us again with their DVD ‘Keeper of the 7 keys- The Legacy World Tour’ and released another great studio album ‘Gambling with the Devil’ in 2007.

This will be first time for Helloween performing METALCAMP and believe us…Metalcamp will go crazy!!!!!

Another new confirmation is Mystic Prophecy

They performed Metalcamp festival two years ago. They proved to be the true messengers of heavy metal, a real machine, a progressive band with sophisticated touch and a special feeling. They can play with emotions and speed metal at the same time. Mystic Prophecy released great albums like ‘Savage Souls’, ‘Regresus’, ‘Vengeance’ and the best in their career ‘Satanic Curses’. The record that will bring you various metal styles, influenced by American and European, researched in old and new.
It will be just great to see the top four German heavy metal acts, each presenting its own school and perspective of heavy metal. Mystic Prophecy will complete the German melodic heavy list together with Brainstorm, Rage and Helloween.

    Have a nice day,
    Your METALCAMP team

  • KING DIAMOND Receives Grammy Nomination For Best Metal Performance

Metal Blade is both very proud and excited to announce that King Diamond has received a Grammy Nomination for BEST METAL PERFORMANACE for the track Never Ending Hill off their latest album Give me Your Soul… Please.

King comments on his bands nomination:

“It’s a great honor to be picked as a nominee; it’s totally shocking and unexpected. We do feel as a band that this is the best album we have ever done. Hopefully there will be many more albums and tours to come. We feel that we have at least another good 10 years in us! This nomination is a testament to our legion of loyal fans and our thanks go out to them for the endless support and all of the kind words.”

Metal Blade owner and CEO Brian Slagel comments on having two bands nominated for this years Grammy’s:

“All of us at Metal Blade Records are extremely honored to have 2 of our artists, As I Lay Dying and King Diamond, nominated for Grammy awards. They both truly deserve this honor for the great artistry they have accomplished on these tremendous releases.”

King Diamond’s Give Me Your Soul… Please was released on June 26th 2007 and came in at #174 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart! Give Me Your Soul… Please is a blistering metal horror-opera concept album that draws from themes from the occult and both King Diamond’s personal life, after-life experiences, as well as King Diamond’s signature dark imagination. The result is a montage of murder mysteries meets nightmare dream sequences wrapped in a proto-power-metal soundtrack. As King describes it, “Give Me Your Soul… Please is a horror murder mystery story mixed with reality from beginning to end.”

  • HATE ETERNAL Announces New Album Title And Track Listing

Tampa, FL’s very own Hate Eternal is back with the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2005 release I, Monarch, titled Fury and Flames. Fury and Flames will be the bands most diverse and emotionally fueled record to date due mainly in part to the passing of bassist and good friend Jared Anderson.

Hate Eternal founder and vocalist/guitarist Erik Rutan recently did an interview with MTVnews.com where he stated, “Jared was one of my best friends, and his passing away really affected me and influenced this record a lot. It's a very dark and heavy record — not just heavy as in 'heavy metal,' but heavy-hearted as well." Go HERE to read the full article.

Fury and Flames will feature cover art by Paul Romano (Mastodon, Animosity, The Red Chord) and features the addition of new members Shaune Kelley as second guitarist and Jade Simonetto on drums. The addition of second guitarist Shaune means that this will be the first time Hate Eternal will be able to perform as a four piece live. Something fans will be able to experience on the first tour for Fury and Flames when the band heads out with label-mates The Black Dahlia Murder. Alex Webster of Cannibal Corpse fame stepped in on bass for the recording, but due to his insane schedule with Cannibal will not be able to tour with the band.

Fury and Flames will be in stores and online everywhere on February 19th 2008.

Soilwork, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, War Of Ages Set To Take Part

Orange County, CA - THROWDOWN will headline The Scum Of The Earth Tour which is set to kick off in February and will cross the United States (and some Canadian cities as well) through early April. It is the band's first headlining tour in support of their new album, Venom & Tears, which was released in August.

Joining Throwdown on the bill for the Scum Of The Earth Tour, which is presented by Black Rose District Clothing, will be Swedish metal madmen Soilwork, whose own Sworn to a Great Divide was recently released to rave reviews from fans and critics. THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD are also onboard, touring in support of a new album of their own, Malice. War Of Ages rounds out what is sure to be a devastating lineup.

"We haven't headlined our own tour in a long time, which is exciting," commented Throwdown frontman Dave Peters. "The most rewarding thing about playing our songs live is interacting and communicating with the audience. And now that our new album has been out for a few months, the songs have had a chance to really sink in, and we're looking forward to seeing people's reactions to songs both new and old."

"We're also very stoked to be touring with Soilwork who are coming all the way over from Sweden," Peters added. "And with THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and War Of Ages onboard, it's a very strong and diverse bill."

Venom & Tears is Throwdown's fastest-selling album, garnering favorable comparisons to landmark records by legendary metal bands while offering newfound metallic depth and emotional complexity. Peters recently interviewed Sepultura/ Soulfly founder Max Cavalera for Revolver's "Rebel Meets Rebel" feature.

Throwdown have spent the last four years on the road as part of Vans Warped Tour, Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground and as support for Machine Head, Soulfly, Lamb Of God, In Flames and As I Lay Dying, pausing briefly to write and record Venom & Tears and 2005's Vendetta album.

Soilwork is currently part of a massive US tour with Killswitch Engage and Lamb Of God. The band's new single is featured as a downloadable track for Guitar Hero III. THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD will soon shoot another video with director Dave Brodsky, having taken part in a sold-out tour with All That Remains and As I Lay Dying. War Of Ages is busy writing the followup to Pride of the Wicked, which will be produced by Tim Lambesis.

The Scum Of The Earth Tour will be preceded by Throwdown dates in smaller cities on the West Coast with My Children My Bride and Arsonists Get All The Girls in support. Look for confirmed dates for that very soon.

"We're going to be stepping up our production on this tour as well, both sonically and visually," Peters added. "And with a bill as energized as this one, it's going to make for a great show all around."

Here are the confirmed dates for the SCUM OF THE EARTH TOUR featuring Throwdown, Soilwork, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and War Of Ages.

  • Ozzy Osbourne Bassist Confirmed For Metal Recording Industry Documentary

Rob "Blasko" Nicholson Confirmed For Metal Recording Industry Documentary

Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (Cryptic Slaughter, Drown, Prong, Danzig, Rob Zombie and current Ozzy Osbourne bassist) has been confirmed to take part in the upcoming metal recording industry documentary Behind The Suit and Tie. Filming will take place on December 21 in NYC.

Through a series of interviews with players from both indie and major labels, Behind The Suit and Tie will showcase the truth of how the music industry is being affected by the downward spiral of CD sales and how new and up and coming artists must learn to adjust to changing times. The film will also contain insight from Radio DJ Eddie Trunk, Paul Conroy (Ferret Records), Missi Callazzo (Megaforce Records), Al Dawson (Earache Records), Pat Egan (Relapse Records), Ray Harkins (Century Media), JC (The End Records), Mark Nawara (Crash Music), Gary Susalis (Music Choice), Rayny Forster (Moshpit Tragedy), Demolition Records, Heavy Artillery Records, Ex-Megadeth and current F5 bassist David Ellefson, and Soulfly/Primer 55 bassist Bobby Lee Burns. More labels and artists are subjected to be added.

Behind The Suit and Tie pulls no punches and features some of the prime movers in the heavy metal industry drawing back the veil of mystique surrounding the music business and addressing tough questions about the industry itself, how it's run and where labels see their role in a digital future. There has been a lot of bad blood shed throughout the metal recording industry for many years now and it's time we separate fact from fiction.

Robert Jr./Producer, Energy Music comments: "This film is not going to be your ordinary music documentary. We will deliver a strong message throughout the heavy metal community to show you what is fact and what is fiction. We have started full production on November 1 in NYC and things are moving along as planned."

  • SUICIDE SILENCE “The Cleansing” release date and on tour with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead

SUICIDE SILENCE’s amazing album “The Cleansing” will finally hit Europe February 18th! Upon the US release of the album SUICIDE SILENCE made a huge statement to the metal world by entering the US Billboard Top 200 chart at #94, which marks the highest debut ever for a new Century Media artist.

SUICIDE SILENCE adheres to no preconceived notions and refuses to be pigeonholed into any specific genre. Their music clearly represents their many influences, incorporating a savage mix of death metal, grindcore, black metal, hardcore and doom elements into each track. The songs are dynamic and crushing, shifting effortlessly from insane grind chaos into surgically precise, disorienting time signatures topped off with snail-paced grooves and destructive breakdowns. Check out songs from “The Cleansing” at:

In spring 2007 they entered the studio with John Travis (Kid Rock, Static-X) to record their debut full-length while the renowned Tue Madsen (Dark Tranquillity, The Haunted) handled mixing duties. Its outstanding artwork was done by the legendary Dave McKean (Sandman comics, classic covers for Machine Head, My Dying Bride, Testament, Fear Factory).

The devastating quintet from Riverside, California separated themselves from the underground through an undying work ethic and undeniable live performance. Not only did the band tour North America relentlessly with the likes of Unearth and Darkest Hour, but also went headlining for Despised Icon, Winds of Plague and Walls Of Jericho as well as simply ruling the UK on their first visit in 2006. Now, it will be time for their first tour all over Europe with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead.

    Vocalist Mitch Lucker comments:

“We’re extremely pleased to be hitting the road once again with our friends in Bury Your Dead. We had a blast touring with them in the states and now it’s time to conquer the other side of the world on a great package featuring Parkway Drive as the headliner. We’re not really sure what to expect as we’ll be playing in many of these markets for the first time, but hopefully the European fans will live up to all the crazy things we’ve heard about them. See you on the road!”

  • EARTH - The Bee Made Honey in the Lion's Skull - February 2008

Earth's latest incarnation has arrived. After re faceting some old gems for greater illumination on Hibernaculum, the band returns one again to it's continuing evolution. Where Hex... reveled in dark Satanic twang and austere American beauty, The Bee Made Honey in the Lion's Skull finds Dylan Carlson and the band growing into a harder, more rock and American Gospel-oriented and improvisational direction framed by truly psychedelic production and blazing guitar sounds. Earth show's it's affinity with a nod to the best elements of the more adventurous San Francisco bands of the late 60's and 70's, and the more spiritually aware and exciting forms of Jazz-Rock from the same era. This is no nostalgia trip but a thoroughly inspired and original metamorphosis. Earth is honored to be joined on this record for three songs by legendary virtuoso guitarist Bill Frisell (John Zorn, Elvis Costello, Ginger Baker, etc.) showcasing some of his most fuzzed out playing in years! Frisell adds a brilliant texture and counterpoint to the scintillating and inspired riffs of Dylan Carlson and the band. Adrienne Davies joins again on drums, lending a classic and steady feel to the proceedings. Steve Moore also returns adding heavy Hammond organ and his intense jazz inspired piano playing. Live bassist Don McGreevy also makes his full-length Earth debut on this record. Earth will begin touring throughout the world when the album is released, Australia, Europe and a full US campaign and on from there. The new songs are equally compelling live where Earth takes the vehicles and expand and explore them for further musical and meditative exploration.

  • AMORPHIS "Album of the Year" in UNRESTRAINED Magazine!

AMORPHIS recently landed the #1 spot for Unrestrained! magazine’s Top Albums of 2007 list with their “Silent Waters” release. Editor Tate Bengtson commented, "We are thrilled to have AMORPHIS’ ‘Silent Waters’ land the top spot in the Unrestrained! Top Albums of 2007 List. While AMORPHIS’ previous album, ‘Eclipse,’ demonstrated the impact of new vocalist Tomi Joutsen upon the band, ‘Silent Waters’ showcases the full extent of AMORPHIS’ rejuvenated chemistry and creative vision."

"’Silent Waters’ enjoyed a remarkable showing among Unrestrained! staff. This is especially noteworthy in light of the diversity of our staff’s musical tastes and the sheer quantity of high calibre albums released in 2007. It was a banner year for metal and the competition was fierce, but ‘Silent Waters’ really struck a chord! Unrestrained! #36, which includes our Top Albums of 2007 List, will hit stores by December 15. It features interviews with ULVER, OBITUARY, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, TENHI, OM, TODAY IS THE DAY, ATAVIST, ARCH ENEMY, ICED EARTH, and many more."

  • Inocculta's first album Before Withering

Inocculta is proud to announce the end of the recording and sound mixing of his first album Before Withering.

The recording and sound mixing were carried out in August 2007 at the Noise Factory studio (Namur, Belgium) and the mastering in October 2007 at the Electric City studio (Brussels, Belgium). Before Withering includes 8 tracks navigating between rock and extreme metal. It symbolizes what Inocculta has become: a band with multiple influences, devoid of barriers, whose Black Metal is just a weapon among many others to convey emotion.

The concept of the album is all about the philosophy of Nietzsche, the lyrics are focused on the idea that Man must be topped by Art and Will. They attempt to describe the feelings of loss, abandonment and giddiness imposed by the transition from man to superman, the one who learned to love his destiny far away from nihilists and religious illusions.

We canvass now labels, hoping to find a pressing/distribution contract. We have the original album tracks that can be remixed if necessary.

You can already listen to a sample on our myspace: www.myspace.com/inocculta.

  • BURNT CROSS New Album 'Carcass of Humanity' Available For Download

U.K. anarcho punks BURNT CROSS have released a new album entitled 'Carcass of Humanity' as part of a new sliding scale download series through Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records.

The 10-song politically charged release is now available on the label's website complete with a print-ready sleeve for as much or as little as each visitor chooses and is even being offered for free to those without a paypal account. An audio sample and cover art for the release is available at www.myspace.com/mptrecords.

Guitarist/songwriter Rob Marriott offers the following statement on the band's myspace:

BURNT CROSS were formed in January 2007 after a friend was gonna throw his old guitar out, so I took it and decided to learn a couple of old punk songs so that my twin brother (vocalist/lyricist Paul Marriott) and I could go into a studio and lay them down just as a personal project for ourselves. I then came across a cheap 8 track with in-built drum machine, brought a cheap mic and ended up doing the songs in my bedroom, with the guitar doubling up as a bass. The music is similiar to what we were doing over 15 years ago when we last played in a band together so neither of us had done any music for years, in fact I still only know the same two guitar chords.

The announced new video by CADAVERIA is finally out. Switch your mind to the profane, to flesh and to madness. "Anagram" is a mass of deranged surrealism, of innocence turned into sin, stuffed with first choice offal.

From a concept by Cadaveria and Marçelo Santos, the video features the contribution of Italian artist Max Bottino and involves theater actresses and performers.

Soaked of tension and of obscure energy, the video shows the anguished face of the band's last album "In Your Blood".

  • NORTHER Sign worldwide deal with Century Media Records!

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of Finnish Metal band NORTHER. Since the early days of Sentenced, Century Media was always fond of Finnish acts and we are glad to celebrate the companies’ 20th anniversary in 2008 with another highlight from the cold North.

The history of NORTHER dates back to the year 1996, when Petri Lindroos (who also joined Ensiferum as lead vocalist/guitarist in 2004) and some friends started playing together under the moniker Requiem. In 2000 Kristian Ranta (guitar) stepped in and the band released its first demo. It subsequently led to a deal with Spinefarm Records and it did not take long for the guys to find Jukka Koskinen (bass, also in Wintersun) and Tuomas Planman (keyboards) to finally create a stable line-up for NORTHER. Within a few years NORTHER became one of the most promising Finnish bands combining the best of Death, Black and Thrash Metal with haunting melodies.

The albums "Dreams of Endless War" (2002), "Mirror of Madness" (2003, licensed by Century Media Records for US release), "Death Unlimited" (2004) and "Till Death Unites Us" (2006) helped to gather a world-wide fan base.

In 2007, NORTHER left Spinefarm Records to release the “No Way Back” EP which entered the Finnish charts at #1 and marked the debut for drum talent Heikki Saari. Summer 2007 was highlighted by a successful Wacken Festival show followed by an European headliner club tour in October and further progress on completing their new album. The band’s Century Media debut was recorded and produced by long time partner Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, etc.) at Astia Studios and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, In Flames etc.) at Studio Fredman in Sweden. The yet untitled album will be released in February 2008 and will be presented live at the renowned Finnish Metal Expo on February 16th, 2008 in Helsinki.

    The band comments as follows:
“NORTHER is very excited to announce that we are now a part of the Century Media family. We have been working hard on our new album for months now, and currently we are finishing the mastering and artwork. All members of NORTHER are very excited about this new contract as well as the forthcoming album which presents a new found power that we all are very proud of. The album will be released in early 2008, stay posted for exact dates. We are anxious to get this album released through a big label and tour the world like never before. Looking forward to meeting you all at the shows!”

    Kristian Ranta: Guitars, Clean Vocals
    Petri Lindroos: Guitars, Vocals
    Jukka Koskinen: Bass
    Tuomas Planman: Keyboards
    Heikki Saari: Drums

A dark ominous cloud has been cast upon the Southern California landscape as the

Right before embarking on their European tour with the legendary Shai Hulud and Dead Hearts the band posted the brand new track “One Body Too Many” on their myspace profile: http://www.myspace.com/windsofplague

“Decimate The Weak” was recorded with Daniel Castleman (As I Lay Dying) and mixed by the legendary Tue Madsen (Dark Tranquillity, The Haunted), its artwork was crafted by Pär Olofsson (Dominion, Deeds Of Flesh). Make sure to check out their crushing mix of modern metal, atmospheric sounds of Scandinavian black metal and classic American metal which should cater the needs of fans from Bleeding Through as well as Nile and Vital Remains.

  • INTO ETERNITY Post 2007 recap / working on new album!

Mastermind Tim Roth of Canadian progressive metal outfit INTO ETERNITY posted the following recap of their touring activities for the “The Scattering In Ashes” album, which was released via Century Media Records in 2006:

    “Hello everyone,
We are officially done touring for "The Scattering Of Ashes". We ended up doing 150 shows and being away for close to 200 days of the year! The whole band did a great job, as it's not always easy being away from home for so long, but I think it's important to do it the old-school way and tour as much as we can. No one can say we're a lazy band!

Because we had so many great opportunities to tour in North America, we were unfortunately unable to make it to Europe on the Scattering cycle, but we'll make up for that after our new album comes out. We appreciate all the support from European fans who saw us when we toured there behind “Buried In Oblivion”, as well as everyone who's discovered us since then -- and we can't wait to see you next year!

Our last US tour was with Edguy, Light This City and Echoes Of Eternity. It was a big success for us, so we want to thank those bands again. It was cool bonding with all the bands and 'bro-ing down' with them at 4:20. This touring cycle, we also got to tour with Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Sanctity, The Smash-Up, Destruction, Hirax, Municipal Waste, The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Scar Symmetry, Redemption and the mighty Dream Theater! We ended up doing five full U.S. tours on this cycle, and they all were special to us. Playing with Megadeth and Dream Theater each night was a real dream come true!

Right now we are home in Canada awaiting the cold chill of winter. It is supposed to snow tomorrow, so I'll be in front of my warm computer composing new riffs for the next album. For the first time ever, we will be doing a concept album. Stu (vocals) and I are working on the lyrics right now. It's always good to keep moving forward and to try new things, and this is something that we have always wanted to do. We have done two songs already, and it's turning out really cool. We'll keep you posted in the future as things start to progress further.

www.EnterTheVault.com have revealed dates for Symphony X' 2008 North American headlining tour with support from Epica and Into Eternity! Check out the April/May dates on our tour page.

Thanks to all our fans for supporting us, and we'll see you again in 2008!

  • MOSHPIT TRAGEDY RECORDS Introduces Sliding Scale Download Series

Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records have unveiled their new 'Sliding Scale' download series, in which a visitor to their website can download a high quality mp3 album (comes in a zip file with a print-ready sleeve) for as much or as little as they choose - they can even be downloaded for free. All monies are split between the band and the label, eliminating the need for additional middlemen such as stores and distributors. Without the increasing burdens of manufacturing physical cds it is also easier to take the risk of promoting new and unknown talent.

The first release to be featured is from the political crust powerhouse FILTHPACT, who have just released their latest and final album "Plague Carriers of the Crust Apocalypse" as part of the new 'Sliding Scale' download series. An audio sample and cover art for the release is available at www.myspace.com/mptrecords.

Hailing from Aberdeen Scotland, FILTHPACT formed in early 2004 and since then has been incredibly busy touring all over Europe several times before disbanding recently. Their previous effort "Total Crust Violence" was released by Profane Existence Records in co-operation with seven other labels.

    For more information visit www.moshpit-tragedy.com.

From November 23rd through November 25th we became the first record label to give music fans the opportunity to sample our catalog by giving away free MP3 downloads of ten of our current releases via our website.

In the roughly 72 hours that the downloads were made available over 9,000 downloads took place, totaling over 300 gigs of music.

While it is unclear at this point how this will effect sales, label owner James Mattern is declaring the experiment a success, "The main point behind this weekend was to get our artists a larger listening audience and more exposure, and at the same time give music fans what they have been screaming for; the opportunity to sample a complete album before making a commitment to purchase it. 9,000 downloads in such a short period of time, that is something to be proud of."

    Albums made available were:
FEAST ETERNAL - "Prisons of Flesh"
NECRODEMON - "Ice Fields of Hyperion"
    EXTERMINANCE - "Vomiting the Trinity"
PRIMITIVE GRAVEN IMAGE - "Traversing the Awesome Night"
