The musician was severely injured and taken to the hospital in a critical condition and narrowly escaped death. Due to the attack Symphony Draconis stopped its activities until the vocalist was fully recovered. Right now Herr Amoth is fine and rehearsing with the band, which will be back on brazilian stages in December, playing in Garganta do Diabo Festival with local extreme metal bands, and the 3-day festival IV Orquídea Rock. Formed by veteran members of south american metal scene, Symphony Draconis released earlier this year its first demo, entitled “Inside The Horned Pentagram”. Bands previous album Swarm! was released by Metal Blade Records. Swarm! introduced legendary death metal vocalist Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under on the front row of Torture Killer. Torture Killer has been hiding in the catacombs of studio mixing the upcoming third album. Forthcoming album "Sewers" will be released at the end of February 2009. As posted earlier the previous vocalist Juri Sallinen is back on the line-up torturing his lungs for good. Expect to see Torture Killer touring the Europe on Spring of 2009. Will be 6 to 7 new songs in all, songs that are part of the repertoire of the band concerts and the CD will have around 70 minutes length, the title of the work will be announced at the end of the CD recordings. In the second week of anuary/2009 will begin the first stage of the recordings, the capture and editing of the drums. Throughout the process we'll divulgate some pics of members in the studio and communicate all information about recordings of the CD that will be finalized until the second half of 2009. Starting out in Texas, the tour went to the east coast, through the frozen north, and ended in Hollywood, California at the Key Club. Every night was GREAT. The crowd responses were unbelievable!!! Between 500 and 1,000 fans showed up ready to throw down every night, and that they did with some of the most brutal pits we have ever seen!!! Every band on this tour came out for blood! We had the privilege of being direct support for Soulfly every night, and since many of our fans are Soulfly fans too, it was a match made in Hell!!! The best part of being on tour is meeting ‘People You Consider Family,’ and that is exactly what we have with Our Brothers from Soulfly, Devastation, and Incite. The brotherhood between all the bands made this tour so easy, it was almost too short because we could have kept going for a few more months!!! With members of Devastation leaving half-way through the tour, we all had to pull together and to make sure that the show went on, and when everyone on the tour stepped up on vocals and bass, no one ever knew the difference. Ireland's For Ruin have confirmed some live dates for early 2009, playing alongside Paradise Lost and Rotting Christ. The band completed a ten track pre-production demo of their second album in October and the album as yetremains untitled. The band says: "We have a few title ideas for the album that we're throwing about... the new album is full of the aggression and harmonies from before and will have a production to match the quality of the songs. There's 2 instrumental songs in there this time; one is in the vein of "December" while the other is probably the fastest and most aggressive song we've written to date". Writing duties were shared among the band this time around and some of the working song titles include "Deluge", "Solace", "Elysium" and "Recoil". The data on the studio hard drive that crashed a few months ago was not able to be retrieved, so the band had to start the recording over. The music is almost completed, then comes the long process of vocals, editing, and mixing. The recording's sounding excellent, MUCH better than before. Katagory V Drummer and co-founder Matt Suiter leaves the band Katagory V's co-founder and drummer Matt Suiter has announced that he has left the band. This news comes less than a year after the announcement of guitarist Marc Hanson and original vocalist Lynn Allers also leaving the band. Suiter has issued this statement concerning his decision. "After nearly ten years of playing in Katagory V, I have made the difficult decision to leave the band. This is a choice that I have been struggling with for a very long time, and have finally decided that it was my time to concentrate on other things in my personal life. I have enjoyed the many years with my brothers in Katagory V, both past and present, and am grateful for the many opportunities that came my way; many that I never thought I would ever experience in my lifetime. You could say that many of my childhood dreams were fulfilled by playing in this band. It was a lot of blood, sweat and tears and a labor of love, and I am going to miss it. I want to send a huge thanks to all the Kat 5 fans that I've met from near and far, and thank the many amazing bands and musicians over the years I was able to hang out and share the stage with, and for their kind words and encouragement, especially my metal brother Ronny Munroe (Metal Church)! And Finally, I want to wish my brothers in Katagory V the best of luck for the future." With Suiter out of Katagory V, the band now consists of Bassist Dustin Mitchell and Guitarist Curtis Morrell as the only remaining original members, along with new guitarist Mike Thiriot and Vocalist Al Rybka, who were both announced as recent additions to the band earlier this year. TACERE REVEALED THEIR NEW LINE-UP The new female singer of the Finnish melodic metal masters Tacere is "Taiya R." from the city of Tampere, Finland. She was selected after a long application process lasting for over 6 months. Tacere also hired a new keyboard player, "Veli-Matti Kananen", who is best known for playing with bands such as Poisonblack and Eternal Tears of Sorrow. This is what the band's leader "Karri Knuuttila" had to say about the situation: "We were astonished about the huge amount of singers applying for the band from all around the world. Making a decision about the new singer was hard as there were a lot of talented applicants, some of who already had existing publicity and status. But in Taiya we found the perfect singer: She is extremely talented, looks killer, has a very cool attitude & stage presence and most importantly her personality fits the band perfectly.
