  • EXODUS + BELPHEGOR TEAM UP FOR '09 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH...

Bay Area thrashers EXODUS will return in early 2009 (in support of their latest album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A) as direct support for German thrashers, Kreator.

Opening bands will come from Austria's BELPHEGOR (Nuclear Blast) touring in support of their latest album, Bondage Goat Zombie, and California's Warbringer (Century Media).

EXODUS also announced 15 off-date shows during this upcoming tour.

All tickets are now on sale through all ticketing outlets. To make things easier for the fans, EXODUS have provided several purchase link options for each of the dates of this tour. They can all be seen on the bands MySpace page. (Scroll towards the middle left side)

EXODUS guitarist/songwriter Gary Holt checks in from his home in Northern California with the following:

"If you can believe it, we've NEVER toured with Kreator even though Mille and I go WAY back. We've played occasional festivals together and played 5 shows back in '97 on Summer Metal Meeting with them. We've always had a LOT of fun with them, so I'm looking forward to spending time with old friends Kreator, new friends Warbringer, and soon-to-be-good-friends Belphegor.

We're pretty damned happy to be playing nine shows in Canada because Canadian cities tend to get overlooked. The last time we were in Winnipeg, Calgary, and another city which I can't remember right now, those shows were full of 17-year-olds and they went insane. Those dates were the best on that tour!"

EXODUS' next album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit B is due out by Summer 2009.

  • Metal Band MELDRUM Completes Recording Of New Album

    In Honor Of Michelle Meldrum

HOLLYWOOD, CA - MELDRUM’s drummer, Gene Hoglan, announced the completion of recording their new album, entitled LIFER, consisting of ten tracks for 2009 release.

The new album stands as a proud tribute to founder, Michelle Meldrum, who passed away earlier this year. The album contains material written by both Meldrum and Hoglan, with new member’s bassist Laura Christine and vocalist Michele Madden.

LIFER is sonically different in direction than anything previously released by the band. With new life, and new talent, this album has carried the talents these four have to a higher level.

"Let me say this: Never have I obsessed over the recording of any album I've been involved in as I have with MELDRUM's latest,” explains Hoglan. “The tragic circumstances that took Michelle from us, also provided us with a laser-sharp focus to record the most amazing album we could. Michele Madden, Laura Christine, and hell, even Chicken, our engineer, put forth performances of a lifetime, with each member's full love and respect going into every nuance of every song. Not only to honor Michelle, but to also lay down some badass music, which was ultimately what she stood for…what MELDRUM stands for. I think the songs speak for themselves, and I, for one, have never been prouder to be a part of a family, let alone a project such as this. Metal with balls. Crank it up, indeed.”

MELDRUM plans to unveil previews from their studio sessions on their Myspace in coming weeks, with news on the new release, music videos and tours forthcoming.

  • BLOODBOUND signs worldwide deal with BLISTERING RECORDS

BLOODBOUND, the Swedish melodic, heavy metal band featuring members from STREET TALK, TAD MOROSE, MORGANA LEFAYand PYRAMAZE, have signed a worldwide deal with BLISTERING RECORDS.

The band's third album “Tabula Rasa” will be released by BLISTERING RECORDS in early 2009.

The band has kept busy since their inception in 2004, having released two previous albums Nosferatu (2006) and Book Of The Dead (2007), and played numerous shows across Europe with the likes of HammerFall, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Evergrey and Pretty Maids.

In regards to the band name, the term 'bloodbound' originated during the dark ages referring to an oath between men wherein they would cut their own hands and clasp thereby mixing their blood. Each man then carries the other's blood, linking the two, as blood brothers. A bloodbound can never be broken and will follow you into the afterlife and beyond.

  • DEVIAN - launch track from upcoming album “God To The Illfated”, reveal artwork!

DEVIAN, Sweden’s blackened death/thrash commando featuring former Marduk members Legion (vocals) and Emil Dragutinovic (drums) mercilessly return with their second attack, “God To The Illfated”. You can now check out the brand-new track “Assailant” at www.myspace.com/truedevian and witness that DEVIAN have forged a vicious mix of thrashing riffs, blackish aggression and a heartfelt old school spirit that mounts in simply perfectly written songs.

Vocalist Legion comments: "It’s with great pleasure we bring you the first crusher off "God to the Illfated". "Assailant" is a good indication where we are going with DEVIAN’s second attack. We just asked ourselves: "How should a Metal album sound like that we would love to pick up ourselves?" and went from there…breathing life into the music, fuelled by the uncorrupted enthusiasm of the days when checking out records in a vinyl-store was the best hangout you could have or get so blown away by a great gig that you could talk about it and relive it in your head for months. All the musical experience we’ve gathered since those days made us challenge the songs ‘til we felt they erupted into a perfect storm!"

“God To The Illfated” will be unleashed upon mankind on the following European dates:

Recorded once again at Art Decay Studio with Rickard Kottelin, DEVIAN decided to hook up with Hypocrisy / Pain mastermind Peter Tägtgren for further production duties and the intense mix-down of the album at The Abyss Studio (Immortal, Marduk, Dimmu Borgir, etc.) while mastering duties were once again taken care of by Peter In De Betou / Tailor Maid Production (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, etc.). • IWRESTLEDABEARONCE - begins recording new album!

IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, the electro/metal/jazz/grind hybrid from Shreveport, LA, has entered the studio to record their debut full length for Century Media Records. The band has locked themselves inside the home of producer extraordinaire Ross Robinson and are working with Ryan Boesch (Norma Jean). The album is expected to be ready for a spring 2009 release.

IWRESTLEDABEARONCE comments: “Ryan Boesch is a son of a bitch and a dirty, godless savage... but on the bright side, we are writing and recording on the beach at Ross Robinson’s house and drinking all of Norma Jean’s leftover energy drinks. Anyway, Ryan is as insane as us and since his discography includes 2Pac, Andrew WK, Tomahawk, and Sheryl Crow, we know we are in good hands. We will be updating our MySpace with all kinds of stupid news, so keep in touch on there for all of the latest! Our drummer has horrific gas.”

Best known for their spastic take on grindcore, metal and even showtunes, IWRESTLEDABEARONCE is as hard to categorize as that particular melding would suggest. One look at the new video for “Tastes Like Kevin Bacon”, which encapsulates that twist particularly well, and you'll know what the band is all about. • Daylight Dies to join Soilwork for shows in early January

Daylight Dies will join Soilwork and Darkane for the start of their upcoming US tour beginning January 30 in Rochester, New York. Continuing to support their latest record, Lost to the Living, Daylight Dies were selected to replace Warbringer who are unable to start the tour due to extended recording obligations. "We are all ecstatic about the opportunity to tour with three bands we are huge fans of," says bassist Egan O’Rourke. "We have been cranking Soilwork in the van since our first tour so it will be a true honor to get to share stages with them."

Released June 24, Lost to the Living is the North Carolina-based band's second album for Candlelight Records. Mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and featuring artwork from Travis Smith (Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost), the album features nine new songs. "We were extremely pleased to see the glowing response to Lost to the Living from the media," notes drummer Jesse Haff. "It's especially rewarding to see the continued love from fans towards this album."

Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies released their debut, No Reply (Relapse) in 2002. Terrorizer Magazine called the album "memorable and engaging." Outburn Magazine proclaimed it "pristine doom metal," while Digital Metal found it to be "a combination of dark melody and deathly aggression." The quintet would tour Europe with Katatonia and perform with Lacuna Coil throughout the US and Canada before writing processes would begin on new material. Their second album, the impressive Dismantling Devotion, was released in March of 2006. Revolver Magazine called it "an epic slab of gloom metal that's equal parts apocalyptic rage and suicidal sorrow." Terrorizer Magazine again applauded the band noting the album as "an epic journey as thoughtful and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful... essential." Another US tour, this time with Moonspell and friends Katatonia, completed 2006 on an all-time high. Outside of a few local performances the five-piece spent much of 2007 crafting the material that finds itself on Lost for the Living. The band toured with Candlemass just prior to the release of Lost for the Living.

Daylight Dies, featuring vocalist Nathan Ellis, guitarist Barre Gambling, guitarist Charley Shackelford, with O’Rourke and Haff, have consistently impressed fans and critics alike. Not only popular with mainstream print outlets worldwide (Lost to the Living again receiving high praise from the most important metal publications around the globe), the band have found an active online support network. Popular metal portal Metalsucks.net says, "with Lost to the Living we get what could very well become the band’s masterwork." Hardcore Sounds says, "Daylight Dies has created a solid piece of metal that is unbelievably solid from start to finish." The band have active fan pages via MySpace, Facebook, are growing in popularity via LastFM.com and many more.

  • LION'S SHARE – new album coming soon.

Blistering Records is pleased to announce that Swedish melodic heavy metal masters LION'S SHARE are putting the final touches on “Dark Hours”, the followup to 2007's “Emotional Coma”, for release in March 2009.

The band states, “The new songs are simply awesome and everybody that have heard it, think it’s our best album to date. The red thread lyric wise on this album is that all songs are about things that happened in the late sixties; a decade known for many good things. However, we're not describing the happy times of the 60's: We give you the Dark Hours. Musically it’s more straight forward and faster than ever. The songs are filled with energy and great hooks.”

“Dark Hours” will be mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Symphony X, Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth), and features guest slots from Mike Romeo (Symphony X) guest solo on "Behind The Curtain", Conny Pettersson (from Earache Records death metal act ANATA) - drums, Richard Evensand (Chimaira, Soilwork).

    Tenative tracklisting is:

    Judas Must Die
    Phantom Rider
    Demon In Your Mind
    Heavy Cross To Bear
    The Bottomless Pit
    Full Metal Jacket
    The Presidio 27
    Barker Ranch
    Napalm Nights
    Space Scam
    Behind The Curtain
King Of All The Kings (bonus track - included on the limited edition digipak and Japanese version)

    Stay tuned for more details.

  • Yngwie Malmsteen in Rock Band Game!

Rock Band Scores DLC from Soundgarden, Yngwie Malmsteen!!

Numerous bands will jam alongside the Killers in Rock Band next week. In addition to the previously reveled three-pack from the Killers, Harmonix has announced several other artists that will be joining the band as next week's Rockband DLC. Tracks from the Chris Cornell-fronted grunge trailblazers Soundgarden will accompany the Killers, along with legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and metal group Lamb of God.

As usual, these downloads will arrive Tuesday on Xbox Live and Thursday on the PlayStation Store, and will be available individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft points) and in bundled three-packs where applicable for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points). The entire list of next week's offerings looks something like this:

    "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers
"Smile Like You Mean It" by the Killers
    "Spaceman" by the Killers
"Caprici Di Diablo" by Yngwie Malmsteen
    "Damnation Game" by Yngwie Malmsteen
    "Red Devil" by Yngwie Malmsteen
    "Jesus Christ Pose" by Soundgarden
    "Pretty Noose" by Soundgarden
"Laid To Rest" by Lamb of God

Yet another diverse batch of songs as the Rock Band platform marches ever closer to the year-end goal of 500 songs. Between the awesomely laid-back "Pretty Noose" and Yngwie Malmsteen's trademark blistering solos, next week should be able to cater to a wide spectrum of tastes and skill levels.

  • SUICIDE SILENCE post new video for “Unanswered” online; wrap up worldwide touring cycle for “The Cleansing”!

After wrapping up a highly successful US headlining run with Emmure, Beneath The Massacre, After The Burial and Architects this past weekend, deathcore pioneers SUICIDE SILENCE are now about to finish their worldwide touring activities for their most recent effort “The Cleansing”.

The band spent 2008 mainly on the road, toured Europe with Parkway Drive, Bury Your Dead, embarked on the “Rockstar Energy Mayhem” US tour with Slipknot and Disturbed, and headlined the Summer Slaughter UK / Europe tour with As Blood Runs Black, Abigail Williams etc. Only a slew of Australian dates is about to follow in December and thus SUICIDE SILENCE will now be able to concentrate full-time on their highly anticipated new album.

A new video for the unrelenting track, “Unanswered,” was recently completed by renowned director Jerry Clubb (As I Lay Dying, Unearth) and is composed of live footage from this past summer’s “Rockstar Energy Mayhem” tour. This clip proves just how truly intense and demanding the band’s live performance is, so check this out NOW:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrwizI_aGHk

    Mitch Lucker (vocals) states:
“The ‘Unanswered’ video highlights a typical day on the ‘Rockstar Mayhem’ tour that we experienced this summer. Every show was incredible and we played to more people than we ever dreamed. Thanks to all of the fans that came out and saw us on that tour. We had the time of our lives because of all of you and we’ll be back on the road early next year with a brand new record in tow.”

  • LACRYMA SANGUINE released EP through KillZone Records

    - LACRYMA SANGUINE signed a deal with the north-american label KillZone Records, which is releasing the band's first EP, entitled "As The Autumn Ends", in digital format.

The band was formed in 2005 with the intention of composing a musical journey through the several subgenres of doom metal. Its musical identity presents unconventional elements to doom metal like the use of violin, flute and cello, but keeping the heaviness of the traditional instruments and featuring a strong and marking vocal, in an unique and professional musical proposal.

"As The Autumn Ends" is available on iTunes, Amazon and other websites.

  • Thyrfing new album Hels Vite set to attack

Thyrfing has delivered its very own brew of metal music since 1995. After five full-length albums and numerous live performances the band now releases Hels Vite, still carrying the integrity and trademarks known since their 1998 self-titled debut album, brought forth through Valdr Galga (1999), Urkraft (2000), Vansinnesvisor (2002) and Farsotstider (2005).

In 2007 a new line-up was formed after the departure of long time members Thomas Väänänen and Henrik Svegsjö, introducing new vocalist Jens Rydén (ex-Naglfar). The band name is taken from the sword "Tyrfing" in Scandinavian mythology - a cursed blade that appears in several tales and myths.

With massive critical acclaim already beginning to pour in on this blackened Pagan metal masterpiece the world over, Hels Vite is about to bring Thyrfing to a whole new level.

Hels Vite will be unleashed in North America January 27, 2009.

  • PSYCROPTIC's 'Ob(Servant)' Lands On Australia's AIR Chart!

    For immediate release:

"Ob(Servant)", the fourth album from Tasmanian tech-death masters PSYCROPTIC, has entered the AIR chart (Australian Independent Recordings) at position No. 7.

The AIR charts are compiled by AIR from sales rankings supplied by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

Titles are eligible to be included in the AIR charts survey if:

    * The artists are Australian;
    * The title is released on an independent label or self-released;
    * Where it is either distributed through an independent distributor or where an independent label uses the services of a major or its subsidiary to distribute the title

Commented PSYCROPTIC drummer Dave Haley, "I just heard that our new album 'Ob(servant)' hit number #7 on the AIR charts out here in Australia. I actually had to have a bit of a giggle about that — a death metal album filled with blast beats and growling vocals sitting next to a lot of pop and rap stuff. It's great indication of the state of extreme metal at the moment — it has a growing and dedicated following... good times to be a metal band!"

"Ob(Servant)" was released in North America on October 14 via Nuclear Blast Records, following their appearance as part of this years SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour installment, which included THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and KATAKLYSM among others. The follow-up to 2006's "Symbols of Failure" was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and was recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. The album includes a free bonus DVD featuring a studio diary as well as performance footage from a 2006 gig in Amsterdam, Netherlands and 2008 concert in Wellington, New Zealand. The free bonus DVD runs approximately 85 minutes.

PSYCROPTIC's third full-length album, "Symbols of Failure", was released in February 2006 via Neurotic Records. The follow-up of 2003's "The Scepter of the Ancients" marked the recording debut of vocalist Jason Peppiatt.
  • ENSLAVED SHOOTS VIDEO WITH AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR PATRIC ULLAEUS

Norway’s ENSLAVED recently traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to work with Revolver Film Company director and Norwegian Grammy Award winner Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Keep Of Kalessin, In Flames) to shoot a video for “The Watcher,” a track off their recently Billboard-charting album, Vertebrae.

ENSLAVED share their thoughts about working with Ullaeus and the video itself:

“When we got the chance to work with Patric and Revolver, we grasped it with all ten hands. His works are very impressive. We were first exposed to him through Dimmu’s latest video - the whole thing was very professional and remained ‘tasty’ within the fantasy framework. Our previous videos have been do-it-yourself and we have never worked with special effects on such a high level before. The video is built upon a dual development: the band performing the song in parallel with a story line. The story is based upon [lead singer/bassist] Grutle’s lyrics for ‘The Watcher’ and the story is written out in a co-operation between Grutle & [guitarist/songwriter] Ivar [Bjørnson] from the band, and director Patric Ullaeus. Without spoiling the surprise, the video story follows the lines of the lyrics – the individual’s struggle for truth and liberation, about revealing the real chains of existence and breaking them.”

Attached, exclusive photos of the video shoot were taken by photographer Tonje E. Peersen.

ENSLAVED will be on tour through North America in 2009 with Finland’s Swallow The Sun and fellow countrymen Keep Of Kalessin. Confirmed tour dates are below.

  • Iconic Metal Band KEEL Reunites In 2009

ORIGINAL MEMBERS PERFORM TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 20 YEARS
    FOR THE BAND’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY

HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 18th, 2008) - 2009 will mark iconic metal band KEEL’s 25th anniversary, and the passing of two decades since the original lineup played on stage together. Unlike most of their contemporaries, none of the members has ever performed as KEEL since 1989.

Ron Keel, guitarists Marc Ferrari & Bryan Jay, drummer Dwain Miller along with Geno Arce (Ron’s long-time bassist) are preparing to perform again for the first time in 20 years. “It would not have been right without these guys,” expresses Ron Keel. With the high volume of requests for the band to reunite, the members felt the time is right to deliver the show fans everywhere have been demanding: a KEEL reunion.

In 1985, “The Right To Rock” became the fastest-selling debut album in A&M Record’s history. Selling over 2 million albums the band was proclaimed the Best New Band by Metal Edge and Circus Magazines.

The title track was a hit on radio & MTV and remains a staple on VH1 Classic, in addition to the group’s subsequent hits “Tears Of Fire,” “Because The Night,” “Somebody’s Waiting,”and “Rock & Roll Outlaw.” They developed a reputation as one of the genre’s most entertaining live acts, opening for heavyweights like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and Van Halen amongst many others.

Plans are for KEEL to reunite at a select number of festivals and showcase dates in 2009 to perform all their hits and classic favorites in celebration of 25 years of rock n roll history. The KEEL “Debut Reunion Concert” will take place in Hollywood on Saturday, January 31st. The location for this historic event will be Club Vodka at The Knitting Factory – visit the web site and MySpace for details.

  • SYLOSIS - New Song Posted!

    For immediate release:

UK-based modern thrash hopefuls SYLOSIS, have uploaded the new track “Last Remaining Light” to their Myspace page. An e-card for the CD is available at this location.

"Conclusion Of An Age" is scheduled for release in North America on January 27 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Grindstone Studios with producer Scott Atkins.

Check out the tracks "Conclusion Of An Age" and "Teras" on the band's MySpace page.

The album's lyrical theme deals with "the direction in which the planet is heading and the consequences humanity will face.
The album covers many areas but the main concept is the idea of mankind destroying itself through war, self-indulgence, religion etc., and how the earth is being ravaged by humanity to the point of being destroyed… but how the earth's might will eventually prevail!"

"Conclusion Of An Age" track listing:

    01. Desolate Seas
    02. After Lifeless Years
    03. Blackest Skyline
    04. Transcendence
    05. Reflections Through Fire
    06. Conclusion Of An Age
    07. Swallow The World
    08. Teras
    09. Withered
    10. Last Remaining Light
    11. Stained Humanity
    12. Oath Of Silence

The artwork for the album (attached) was created by Colin Marks of Rain Song Studios who has previously worked with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, ABORTED and WHITECHAPEL.

SYLOSIS' musical style can be described as "brutal, technical and deceptively melodic modern metal that favors invention over cliché and never shies away from nimble shifts in style, tempo or mood. The quintet manage to bring an epic, technical and melodic feel to the old-school thrash sound, combining incredible guitar solos and bloodlust vocals. The outcome, a sound that is both devastatingly feral and blisteringly precise."

  • Negura Bunget re-releases out soon

Negura Bunget's first four releases will soon be re-issued in Digipaks with improved artwork."From Transylvanian Forest" is the only demo recording from Wiccan Rede, the legendary precursors to Negura Bunget. This re-release with two bonus tracks lays bare the roots of Negura Bunget in an unique way. On their debut album "Zîrnindu-Sã", the Romanians celebrate a furious and primal black metal with sophisticated drumming and racing guitars. For many fans, this record still marks the band's pinnacle. The re-release comes with a bonus CD featuring a previously unreleased alternative recording of the entire album. The potential hinted at on these releases was fully tapped on the EP "Sala Molksa". "Sala Molksa" offers highly original symphonic black metal with a penchant for complex arrangements. This re-release comes with a bonus CD as well, containing an unreleased alternative recording of the EP. "Mãiastru Sfetnic", finally, is the masterpiece by the 'early' Negura Bunget, written large in the history of black metal. This album is characterized by a stunningly dense and oppressive atmosphere and has secured the band a position in the pantheon of black metal.

All of these Digipak CDs are limited to 2,000 copies each. There will also be a special 6 CD box, strictly limited to 500 copies, including a woven Negura Bunget logo patch and a sticker.

  • WITHERED returns from tour, featured in HardTimes.ca interview

Having recently played the band’s sole 2008 homecoming show in Atlanta after a month-long trek alongside Swedish black metal titans Watain and labelmates Book of Black Earth, tortured blackened doomsters WITHERED are currently at home, with a handful of other confirmed regional / festival dates, already hard at work on new material. Guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson elaborates: “Hi everyone! We have returned from touring the US and Canada with Watain and Book Of Black Earth. Having had a week or two to reflect, we would like to send out our appreciation and respect for everyone involved (especially Watain and BOBE for keeping us on our game). It was quite rewarding to project this level of intensity on some very deserving crowds each and every night.

“We’d like to send a sincere and resounding THANK YOU to all the fans who came out to support us. You continue to drive new focus and vigor into WITHERED’s jaded psyche. Your feedback has been simply overwhelming. Also, a big thanks to Cartel for keeping everything together and running smoothly with this group of chaotic heathens. We’re gonna do a bit of writing over the next few months and will make a handful of regional festivals/one-off shows that are NOT TO BE MISSED!! So, keep in touch and check our sites for new developments. They won’t disappoint. Cheers!”

WITHERED continues to support its Prosthetic Records debut, ‘Folie Circulaire,’ which is the follow-up to 2005’s critically-acclaimed debut ‘Memento Mori.’ The band recently caught up with HardTimes.ca in Quebec for an interesting interview with guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman and drummer Beau Brandon (online here).

12/20 Richmond, VA – Rocks (Heart of Winter Black Metal Fest)

  • BOOK OF BLACK EARTH confirmed for upcoming Cattle Decapitation tour, comments on completion of Watain tour

Seattle’s BOOK OF BLACK EARTH are now at home after the band’s recent month-long trek throughout North America with Watain and Withered, and are proud to announce their involvement in the January / February 2009 Killing ‘Til Oblivion Tour with Cattle Decapitation, Psyopus, Book of Black Earth, and Gigan in support of the band’s second full-length and Prosthetic Records debut ‘Horoskopus.’ “We are honored to have the chance to brutalize the western and southern parts of the USA once again this time with our comrades Cattle Decap, Psyopus, and Gigan,” vocalist/guitarist TJ Cowgill says. “It is certain that we will cut a swath of destruction from the flimsy illusion of democracy while simultaneously shotgunning beers and being creepy. Come forth, brave soldiers of metal, unleash a moshpit the likes of which no soul can resist, and don't forget to bring us drugs!”

“As for the Watain and Withered tour, it was incredible!” he continues of the band’s recently-wrapped touring. “The chance for us to play with Watain for a month already was the best news I'd gotten in a while, only to become better as we got to hang out with them and really get to know them as people. Watching them perform is truly an inspiration for anyone who is into real black metal played with the raw energy, a spirit that is rarely ever seen. Withered were amazing and crushed the audience every night, and they were our instant friends, hanging out with them was awesome. Honestly it couldn't have been a better tour, the only problem was it was only a month long!”

On a side note, BOOK OF BLACK EARTH will also play a one-off hometown show with the Black Dahlia Murder, Soilent Green, and Misery index, as well as a Los Angeles show with legendary crust-punk pioneers Amebix in late-January. The band also recently caught up with Hardtimes.ca for an interview covering the subject matter of ‘Horoskopus’ and religion’s effect on the general populace. Check it out here.
