- MASTERPLAN's Ui Kusch gets impressed by EYES OF SHIVA's music
MASTERPLAN's Uli Kusch recently sent a message greeting Brazilian Progessive
Power Metal band EYES OF SHIVA. The drummer had the opportunity of listening
to the songs from the band's latest album, "Deep", and said
he's truly impressed by their musicianship.
"Eyes Of Shiva has good dynamics and is strong from beginning to
the end", quoth he. Particularly speaking of "Kamisama"
(tribute song to Brazilian soccer legend Zico), Kusch asserts: "As
dramatic as sport can be, the song introduction has the right feel.
A massive modern riff with massive percussive drums. After two times
listening I can't get the, more traditional sounding, chorus out of
my head. Andre's (Matos, SHAAMAN) voice perfectly link the modern approach
of the song with traditional melodies."
"Kamisama" as well as other four songs from "Deep"
- "Leave Me Alone", "Blowing Off Steam", and "Another
Side" - can be heard on Eyes Of Shiva's official MySpace Page at

- INTRONAUT Void
August 22, 2006 quickly approaches. That date will mark the release
of Void, the debut full-length by Los Angeles metal quartet INTRONAUT.
The album is the next step forward by one of this scene's most exciting
new bands and is sure to turn heads in the metal underground.
Drummer Danny Walker, a member of CA grinders UPHILL BATTLE, and Sacha
Dunable, guitarist for L.A. doom band ANUBIS RISING, conceived INTRONAUT.
They shared a common interest in playing something forward thinking
with an emphasis on forceful songwriting. Ideas were exchanged and allowed
to brew for a few months before the two began writing.
This new project intrigued recent L.A. immigrant (and former IMPALED
guitarist / EXHUMED bassist) Leon del Muerte enough to join on guitar
and vocals. Danny and Leon bonded during their time spent touring together
in EXHUMED. The three found it easy to adapt to one another and this
fresh style of music. All that was missing was the perfect bass player
to complete the equation.
Enter Joe Lester, an old friend of Sacha’s who recently left UC
Santa Cruz with a BA in music. Aside from extensive experience playing
jazz, funk, and traditional Indian music, Joe is a die-hard hesher.
He jumped at the chance to join this exciting new metal band. His musical
proficiency complemented the songwriting nucleus impeccably, adding
an extra dimension to the overall sound. The music the quartet produced
was heavy, technical, abstract but above all listenable. It was a great
combination and the band’s passion to create grew immensely.
They quickly wrote and recorded four songs that would make up their
first release, the Null EP. They were so pleased with the end result
that INTRONAUT promptly went from side project to full-time band status.
Momentum built quickly, with the band playing many regional shows and
selling over 200 CDRs of the recording, both at shows and through their
website. The EP caught the interest of Chris Logan and Goodfellow Records
and a recording deal was signed shortly afterwards.
Goodfellow re-released Null in February 2006 to help introduce INTRONAUT
to a wider audience. It has since received critical acclaim from both
the heavy music underground and the mainstream music press. Shortly
after its release, the band headed back into CA’s Shiva Industries
studio with John Haddad (Phobia*, Eyes Of Fire). John had also worked
with the band on Null. The band worked longer, this time around, to
craft their first full length. Void is the result.
Mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side, Void proves that the initial
excitement caused by Null was warranted. Expanding on what they had
already accomplished, Void is a solid step forward by a young band ready
to take things to the next level. This band is better than you could
imagine they would be, returning with over 45 minutes of epic beauty
and sheer punishment.
* NB - please note that Danny Walker recorded with and Leon del Muerte
is a touring member of the current incarnation of Phobia

- DISMEMBER North American assault
DISMEMBER ANNOUNCE DATES ON FIRST US TOUR IN YEARS
Candlelight Records confirms the first string of US performances by
Sweden's Dismember in over five years. Set to kick off September 29
the dates will visit East and Midwest cities before concluding on October

the band tackle new grounds all the while delivering their classic,
primitive and always super tight death metal. “Musically we're
trying to do better with every album,” explains drummer / producer
Fred Estby. “Most of us are in our 30's and we have got to prove
ourselves a little bit more every time. We fought hard with this album.”
Formed in 1988 in Stockholm, Dismember have an extensive worldwide recording,
sales and touring history. The band’s entire catalog was reissued
in 2005 featuring previously unavailable live and demo recordings; all

Karl Groom and Richard West: "We're delighted to join Nuclear Blast,
it's a really positive move for us and we're looking forward to reaching
a lot more fans across the world. The label has a fantastic roster of
bands and it's exciting to be part of the family. Watch out for great
things ahead!"
THRESHOLD will enter the studio in August and October to record their
next album, due to be released in early 2007. A tour is scheduled for
spring. We're looking forward to find out if the new material will be
as excellent as "Critical Mass" or "Subsurface".
But we're sure it will be.
- BLIND GUARDIAN exclusive song in musicshop!

Los Angeles-based quintet ECHOES OF ETERNITY recently signed to Nuclear
Blast. The band – consisting out of singer Francine Boucher, guitarists

best metal bands ever", states an euphoric band. "We look
forward to a long and mutually prosperous future with the finest metal
label on the planet."

Burning With Life - Expressions Of Flesh - Voices In A Dream - Circles
In Stone - Lost Beneath A Silent Sky - Gardens Of The Gods - Towers
of Silence - The Kingdom Within - The Forgotten Goddess – Adrift.
- NIGHTWISH charts
The live DVD slips perfectly into gear as expected. Only one week after
the release, the DVD already reached gold status in Germany and left
superstars like Pink, Ronan Keating and Scooter behind. Even Madonna
who also released a Live DVD two weeks after Nightwish had no chance!
NIGHTWISH entered the german album charts at #3 and was several weeks
at #1 of the DVD charts at the same time. In Austria the DVD was also
a long time on #2. The live DVD of Pink, which was released the same
week, only entered at #32. Last week the NIGHTWISH DVD pushed back the
Pink DVD to #4 in Austria.
For comparison only: Madonna entered the german album charts at #8.
No chart entry for Madonna in Austria by the way. Scooter also released
their new live DVD the same day. They had to live with #29. The new
album of Ronan Keating only achieved #7.
The NIGHTWISH chart pathway up to now: #2, #17, #22, #25
As seen in the daily trendcharts, the NIGHTWISH will also be in the
Top 30 next week: #24, #29, #26,#29, #25
Also from Switzerland, we only have good news: #18, #31, #41, #30. This
means that NIGHTWISH even climbed up again last week!

- NEGATIVE REACTION... "like a starving fetus, the appetite must
be fed"
Long Island, New York, 1990, long before doom metal or sludge fell into
the accepted pop circles, Negative Reaction began churning out dire,
tuned-down Sabbathian hymns before most. Built from the ashes of such
legendary hardcore acts as Deteriorot and LOMF, Ken E. Bones and company
used their love of East Coast angst and fused it seamlessly into their
original doom masterpieces. Long compared to Saint Vitus and Cathedral
for their true approach to doom metal, Negative Reaction have developed
their own style and sound that tends to separate them from the herd.
It's the bands belief that too many musical styles have been merging
together to create a more convoluted music industry. Too many untalented
bands trying to grasp at the proverbial holy grail and destroying pure
music in the process. That is exactly why Negative Reaction have been
honing their specific craft and maturing without selling out.
Releasing various split vinyl collaborations and compilations over the
years, Negative Reaction have seen them come and go. The true test of
any band is being able to roll with the changes without sacrificing
the true goals of the band. From their debut release back in 1993 entitled
Poisoned Friendship all the way through to their most recent effort,
a split with the legendary Ramesses, Negative Reaction are poised to
move up the food chain and take their rightly place among the creme
de la creme of doom artists.

- PRIMITIVE GRAVEN IMAGE Signs with Open Grave Records
Open Grave Records is pleased to announce the latest addition to the
Open Grave Records Family, Primitive Graven Image.
Hailing from England, across the sea from the Norwegian heartland, Primitive
Graven Image bring the true black metal feeling into 2006. With booming
drums, icy guitars, hellish vocals and brooding dark atmospherics, this
music is made for black metal fans, by black metal fans.
Brothers, Dokkalfur and Ljosalfur are the heart and soul of the band.
Having both grown up listening to all kinds of metal they have one collective
mind when it comes to the realms of music. Primitive Graven Image serves
as an outlet for the Black Metal feeling within them. And to them, that
IS Black Metal. A feeling. Nothing more, Nothing less.
The band its self is relatively new, and have already been signed to
Open Grave Records, with their first full length album set to come out
in early 2007! In the mean time, Primitive Graven Image is ready to
unleash its first collection of recordings to the world! This piece
entitled Hellish Figurines, combining primitive, thrashing black metal
with ambient and atmospheric passages, sums up the band perfectly and
is available online for free by visiting www.pgimetal.com
& www.opengraverecords.com.
- DEICIDE COMPLETE 'HOMAGE FOR SATAN' VIDEO SHOOT
Satan's favourite sons Deicide spent 12 hours locked up in baking Floridian
conditions last weekend while they filmed the video for the skin-flaying
new track `Homage For Satan'. In temperatures reaching almost 100† Fahrenheit,
the band ripped through the track again and again with a level of energy
and enthusiasm that would destroy many less committed bands, drummer
Steve Asheim in particular pulling of the almost inhuman feat of playing
for 12 hours straight in broiling conditions without dropping a beat.
Never one to be outdone, Glen Benton then upped the stakes considerably
by donning the now legendary God deflecting armour, last seen at the
Roadrunner All Stars show, and performing the latter part of the video
shoot effectively wearing a second skin. Add to that some blistering
guitar work from Jack Owen and Ralph Santolla and the climactic scene
of the video where Glen is seen spewing forth bile and you just know
that this might just be one of the most intense videos of 2006. Directorial
duties on `Homage For Satan' are handled by Detroit based crew Scrambled
Visual, who will be filming some additional Christ-baiting material
back in Detroit this weekend.
Expect `Homage For Satan' to be hitting your TV screens later this month,
if you can't wait that long, head on over to iTunes where you can currently
download an exclusive early mix of `Homage For Satan' as part of `The
Stench Of Redemption 666 EP'. The album `The Stench Of Redemption' will
be in stores August 21st (UK/ Europe) August 22nd (USA).

the release of their first full-length album, “The Last Of My
Kind”.
CRESCENT SHIELD is the project of ex-ONWARD singer Michael Grant and
ex-DESTINY’S END guitarist Dan DeLucie. The line-up is completed

- CELTIC FROST Announce North American Support Acts
Swiss avant-garde metal pioneers Celtic Frost are proud to announce
the addition of renowned Norwegian black metal bands 1349 and Sahg for
the group’s fall 2006 North American tour. The bands will support
Frost from September 12 (Springfield, Virginia) to October 2, 2006 (Portland,
Oregon). Norway’s cult black metal band 1349 features Satyricon
drummer Frost, and doom supergroup Sahg features notable Norwegian black
metal stars Manngard, 2005 Norwegian Grammy award winner Audrey Horne
and former Gorgoroth members King and Kvitrafn. These will be the first
North American shows for both bands.
Goatwhore will support the band from October 3 (San Francisco, California)
to the end of the tour November 11, 2006 (Johnson City, New York). Additionally,
American drone/doom stars Sunn O))) will join the tour for the Pacific
Coast dates from October 3 (San Francisco, California) to October 9
(Las Vegas, Nevada). The North American tour runs for eight weeks. A
complete list of dates, and additional artist information can be found
here.
Monotheist, Celtic Frost’s 2006 release, and first release in
15 years, has garnered widespread press acclaim. Called “brilliantly
savage” by Spin Magazine, the album received “5/5”
from AP, and “10/10” from Outburn. Additionally, the album
was featured in Rolling Stone wherein Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters fame
called the album “the heaviest, gloomiest, darkest, scariest metal
album you’re gonna hear for a long time.”

- ICED EARTH: New Guitarist Found?
Allentown, Pennsylvania's 91.7 FM WMUH radio station has apparently
announced that Ernie Carletti, formerly of SLIK HELVETIKA, has been
added as the second guitarist for ICED EARTH. He was allegedly auditioned
just over a week ago by ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer and was accepted
as a member. At press time, there has been no official confirmation
from the band or their management regarding Carletti's addition to the
group.
According to Carletti's official bio on ErnieCarletti.com,
Ernie is "a master guitarist who not only performs live, but is
a renowned instructor residing in Maryland, USA and instructing in diverse
performance styles including classical, rock, jazz and metal.
"Mastering his craft beyond 18 years and teaching in excess of
15, Ernie's skills are currently in demand by more than 100 students
weekly in the Elkton, MD and Wilmington, DE areas. In addition to personal
student sessions, Ernie offers email; video and member download instruction
to students world-wide via ErnieCarletti.com.
"In 2005, Ernie struck a deal with famed guitar luthier Bernie
Rico Jr. to produce and market two Carletti signature guitar models,
the 'Dr. Jekyll', and the 'Mr. Hyde'. In February of 2006, Ernie was
personally invited by Rico Jr. to appear as a featured artist in Rico
Jr.'s booth at NAMM, the annual international music conference held
in Anaheim, CA. Here Ernie had the distinct pleasure of jamming with
legendary guitar God Larry Coryell - dubbed as the 'Godfather of fusion'
- who has recorded more than 70 albums in 35 plus years of being a true
Renaissance musician."
Schaffer is currently working on a concept album based on the "Something
Wicked This Way Comes" story that first appeared on ICED EARTH's
1998 album of the same name. A 2007 release is expected.
ICED EARTH's last release was the "Gettysburg (1863)" DVD,
which came out in June 2005. The main program, a CGI-rendered video
presentation of the epic "Gettysburg" trilogy from 2004's
acclaimed album "The Glorious Burden", drew praise from fans
and media alike. The DVD was also reportedly being used as a teaching
tool in several high schools across the country.

- Surviving DISSECTION Members Comment On JON NÖDTVEIDT's Death
As BLABBERMOUTH.NET
exclusively reported earlier today, the surviving members of DISSECTION
have now officially confirmed the death of the band's mainman, Jon Nödtveidt.
The group's statement on the matter reads as follows:
"As rumours have started to spread we feel obliged to confirm Jon
Nödtveidt's death.
"Jon Nödtveidt was a man who lived his life according to his
convictions and True Will. A couple of days ago he chose to end his
life by his own hands. As a true Satanist he led his life in the way
he wanted and ended it when he felt that he had fulfilled his self-created
destiny. Not everyone will have understanding or acceptance for his
personal path in this life and beyond, but all must respect his choice.
"Those of us who have met him in his last days can assure that
he was more focussed, happier and stronger than ever. It is our full
conviction that he left this world of lies with a scornful laughter,
knowing that he had fulfilled everything that he had set up for himself
to accomplish. The empty space that he leaves behind will be filled
with the dark essence that he manifested through his life and black-magical
work. His legacy and Luciferian Fire will live on through those few
who truly knew him and appreciated his work for what it really was and
still is. As our brother's goal in life and death never was to 'Rest
in Peace', we will instead wish him victories in all battles to come,
until the Acosmic Destiny has been fulfilled.

CAVALERA BROTHERS REUNITE
HOLLYWOOD (August 21, 2006) - What all Sepultura fans have hoped and
waited for finally happened on August 17th 2006 in Tempe Arizona. Max
and Igor, the Cavalera brothers, finally reunited. Soulfly played
a show in memory of Dana Wells (D-Low), the stepson of Max and son of

However, this night brought back the force of friendship and family
when Igor Cavalera, Max’s brother steps on stage almost in secret.
He joins the band in the drum jam and in continuation he takes a seat
behind the drums. With the first sounds of “Attitude” the
crowd realized who was keeping time behind Max and the band. The crowd
went wild. This amazingly phenomenal show will go down in every heavy
metal encyclopedia as the historic moment when brothers Cavalera joined
forces again.
This long-awaited moment comes on the heels of Soulfly’s return

- THE HAUNTED Complete New Album; Post Studio and Video Report
Swedish thrash titans THE HAUNTED have just completed the recording
process for the highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's critically acclaimed
rEVOLVEr album. The new effort was recorded in Denmark at Antfarm Studios
with renowned producer Tue Madsen (Himsa, Kataklysm) and it looks to
be their most accomplished work to date. The group spent months working
on the new material pushing themselves to create something unique that
combines certain elements of their previous efforts, while ultimately
forging ahead in new, unexplored directions. An announcement in regards
to the title of the new album and its release date will follow over
the next few weeks.
Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following post studio report:
"Oh, the power of the internet and wireless computers. I'm currently
sitting on the john writing this report thinking about all you good
folks out there, while my kids are watching cartoons in the living room.
We just finished a new album and I gotta say, I'm proud as fuck. It's
bigger, better, madder and thicker. Hell, that's the weird part with
the album business - how the hell to describe what you've just done.
Anyway, it rocks. Big time. Really. Per (drums) told me at rehearsals
a couple of days ago, "If I died tomorrow I couldn't be more satisfied
so if people don't like it, fuck them." I couldn't agree more.
We started writing around Ozzfest last year, bouncing around ideas,
recording anything that came to mind without the old "more or less
metal"-filter, and pretty much knew that we were sick of the whole
900 bpm-chugga-chugga-AAARRRGGGGH-PUKE-end. We wanted to do something
we'd just touched upon with our previous four albums. This album is
simply more diverse, dynamic and HEAVY AS FUCK. Bands like Trouble,
Autopsy, Ganx, Masters Of The Universe, King Crimson and early Metallica
have all really had a great influence on us as a band, and I think this
album really draws a lot in color from those artists.
"We just completed the recording process and are now putting the
artwork together with Manne Andreasson, a bearded wierdo and dear friend
or ours. Working with Tue Madsen's been great. The dude is down-to-earth
man, and working with someone who's got his shit together like that
is a joy. Anders spent six weeks in Denmark getting guitars down while
working with Per and Jonas and then helping me out while I was doing
vocals. Before we started recording, he was telling us he didn't want
to do ANY solos on this record, but in the end we got him to do four
really cool pieces. I think we've managed to find an immense sound:
the drums are clearer, heavier and less processed, and we've even got
acoustic guitars, congas, strings and loads of weird noise manipulations
going on. As far as the vocals go, I honestly didn't know I could even
sing some of the stuff. I was nervous as fuck when I got down to Tue's
studio, and felt like a complete rookie: "Shit, how the hell am
I going to live up to this." Turns out all I had to do was keep
running my miles and warm up like when we're on tour. You can look forward
to an album we're proud as fuck of, and we're looking forward to seeing
you all again as soon as we head out for tour. It'll be ugly as ever,
I'm sure. Stay sick.

- TERRORIZER: Announce release date for new album Darker Days Ahead
Legendary, pioneers, Los Angeles' TERRORIZER belong among those few
bands that have truly shaped the face of Grindcore and Death Metal.
Now, the day has finally come to turn rumors into an unstoppable reality!
Darker Days Ahead, the band's highly anticipated second album, will
be released August 22nd, 2006 via Century Media Records.
With an aggression and ferocity until then unheard the band took the
scene by storm with the 1989 release of their highly acclaimed and genre-defining
debut album, World Downfall (Earache Records). The album installed the
band as a cult institution, despite their prompt disbanding, and the
musicians went on to concentrate on their future main bands: Pete Sandoval
(drums) with Morbid Angel and Jesse Pintado (guitars) with Napalm Death.
With World Downfall TERRORIZER created the Reign In Blood of Grindcore
inspiring a generation of bands, their popularity never waning through
these intervening years. The massive amount of available bootleg recordings
and band merchandise, as well as rumors of a follow-up album, kept the
TERRORIZER name alive.
The eleven new tracks, as well as a new version of the band's classic
"Dead Shall Rise now entitled "Dead Shall Rise V.06, were
recorded at Juan "Punchy Gonzalez" DOW Studios (Morbid Angel,
Christian Death) resulting in a more mature, sinister piece of Death/Grind,
fuelled with contempt and a harsh outlook on the status of our present
and future world. Darker Days Ahead is trademarked by Jesse Pintado's
and Tony Norman's (Morbid Angel, ex-Monstrosity) unmistakably feral
sounding guitar tone and Pete Sandoval's skin-flaying blast beats. Joined
by vocalist Anthony Rezhawk (Resistant Culture), who renders an
outstanding performance, TERRORIZER unleash a brutal tempest predicting
the darkest of days.

- CANDLEMASS: Post-MESSIAH Albums To Be Re-Released With Bonus Tracks
GMR Music has announced plans to re-release the CANDLEMASS albums
"Chapter VI" (1992) and "Dactylis Glomerata" (19)
as double remastered discs.
"Chapter VI" will include the "Sjunger Sigge Furst"
EP as bonus tracks plus a live DVD disc and "Dactylis Glomerata"
will contain an entire previously unreleased album. Each reissue will
be sold for the price of a normal full-length CD. An early fall release
is expected.
As previously reported, CANDLEMASS have uploaded several photos from
their recent recording sessions at Stockholm's Polar Studios. Check
them out at Candlemass.se.
CANDLEMASS frontman Messiah Marcolin contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET on April
28, 2006 to reveal that he has parted ways with the group and that it's
100 percent definite that he will not return. "We could not agree
on how to do the new album," he said, but would not further elaborate
on his sudden exit.
In a subsequent posting on CANDLEMASS' web site (dated April 30), the
band wrote, "Messiah's got a severe pre-recording psychosis at
the moment, so folks, please calm down. The band is confident that he
will sing on the [upcoming] album as planned." The as-yet-untitled
CD - a concept album about the road to ruin in the modern society -
will feature nine or ten tracks and is being self-produced.
CANDLEMASS recorded four new songs with the help of producer Andy Sneap
(NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD) in late February at the Polar
studios. At the time, the group's bassist/songwriter Leif Edling said
of the material, "The songs are pretty much in the same vein as
the stuff on the [self-titled 2005] reunion album, maybe a bit darker."
CANDLEMASS won a Swedish "Grammy" award in February in the
"Best Hard Rock" category, beating out the likes of HAMMERFALL,
HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, MESHUGGAH and OPETH. The Swedish doom legends were
honored for the "Candlemass" opus, which is available on Nuclear
Blast Records. Five back-catalog items from the band -"Epicus Doomicus
Metallicus", "Ancient Dreams", "Doomed for Live",
"Nightfall", and "Essential Doom" were issued in
the U.S. via Candlelight in February.

- Canadian Black Metal Arsonists Receive Jail Time
Dean Pritchard of The Winnipeg Sun has issued the following report:
A fire that razed the 105-year-old Minnedosa United Church last winter
was a hate crime sparked by a hatred of Christianity and a love of black
metal music, a court heard yesterday (June 27).
Kelsey Ray Taylor, Deanna Lynn Mathews and Mark Wishart (photo) shared
an "ideology of desecration" that destroyed a community landmark
and rocked the faith of local church members, Crown attorney Jim Ross
said at the trio's sentencing hearing.
"They share an ideology that people of faith are the enemy,"
Ross said. "They targeted a church for destruction because it's
a symbol."
All three pleaded guilty to arson earlier this year.
The Minnedosa fire had clear links to a worldwide arson movement inspired
by a Norwegian black metal musician, Ross told court.
The church was set ablaze on the birthday of Varg Vikernes, a black
metal musician now serving time in prison in Norway for murdering a
bandmate and burning several churches.
Vikernes has inspired dozens of copycat church burnings around the world,
a list that now includes the Minnedosa United Church, Ross said.
The night of the fire, Taylor, 21, and Mathews, 19, a California native
and Taylor's girlfriend of two weeks, visited Wishart, 20, in Minnedosa.
After drinking awhile in a cemetery, Wishart suggested they burn down
the church, Ross said. Taylor, reluctant to lose face, agreed, and the
trio drove to Wishart's grandmother's home where they picked up a can
of gasoline.

- Death Metal Trio WARFACE Release Debut Album
Insanity of the Obsessed on Deathquake Records August 15th
Deathquake Records is proud to present Death Metal Trio WARFACE and
their full-length debut Insanity of the Obsessed. Hailing from San Diego,
CA the trio is comprised of Laura Christine (Lead guitar), Dave Smith
(vocals/bass) and Scott Ellis (drums).
Insanity of the Obsessed is a follow up to their self-titled EP Warface,
which was released in 2001. Their previous release achieved them critical
acclaim in the underground. Metal Maniacs Magazine praised WARFACE as
“A little piece of all the major players that defined death metal
is packed into one little three-piece [Warface]."
Since the release of their EP, WARFACE has grown and developed its unique
style and chemistry giving fans music that they can really sink their
teeth into. When Deathquake Records came knocking, they recognized the
brutal metal music this band created and signed the Death Metal trio
immediately. After signing the band was sent straight to the studio
to work with world-class engineer/producer Alan Sanderson (SYSTEM OF
A DOWN, SLAYER, ROLLING STONES, JOHNNY CASH,).
Insanity of the Obsessed blends complex yet catchy moody-melodies with
low brow pounding grooves that hook. This style of writing makes the
songs memorable and sticks in the listener’s head and soul.
One other unique dynamic of this extreme metal band is their female
lead guitarist Laura Christine. The extreme metal genre has yet to see
a female out front handling all rhythm and lead guitar duties single
handedly as well as writing and producing. Metal Curse Magazine declared
that “Warface is something that you don’t see every day:
Brutal Death Metal with not only a female guitarist, but in fact a female
guitar hero!"
WARFACE is not trying to reinvent metal, but simply carry on the tradition
of bringing quality metal music to the masses. Insanity of the Obsessed
was written and performed to honor the great legends before them. Insanity
of the Obsessed will be available in stores and the web August 15th,
2006.

- The Lizards Release New CD - Mystery Guest Revealed!
7/1/06 - NYC - One of the most tightly guarded secrets of 2006 in the
world of rock 'n' roll has been the name of the 'mystery guest star'
on the new Lizards CD. Speculation has run rampant while the lid on
The Lizards 'secret recording sessions' has remained securely shut until
NOW!!! Featuring drum legend Bobby Rondinelli (BOC/Rainbow/Sabbath)
and vocal extraordinaire Mike DiMeo (Riot), The Lizards recently completed
several successful tours of the USA and Europe, with the likes of the
Vanilla Fudge, UFO, Ian Hunter, Mountain and Canned Heat, in support
of their third album, last year's critically acclaimed Cold Blooded
Kings.
The Lizards new CD Against All Odds, which promises to be the bands
best yet, began life in the group's private studio, aptly christened
Electric Randyland, in mid-2005. Along with Rondinelli and DiMeo, The
Lizard's bassist Randy Pratt and guitarist Patrick Klein painstakingly
wrote and recorded 10 new songs, many of which are destined to become
rock classics, as well as regulars in the band's live repertoire. Likewise,
the arrangements incorporated into the music are intricate, compelling
and downright rocking! - Even real horns and strings were used in the
mix! "I think we're evolving," says Bobby Rondinelli, "going
deeper into our roots, but also taking it to new places? I think the
CD will surprise people." And surprise it will, as one of the most
intriguing aspects of the new Lizards CD is the addition of an undisclosed
guest rock superstar!
Which brings us to the question that has been plaguing everyone's minds
for the past year - Who is this mystery rocker?! Well the wait is finally
over! And a drum-roll please?
The mystery guest star is none-other-than than Glenn Hughes!!! - The
legendary bassist/vocalist from Deep Purple/Trapese/Black Sabbath, and
a rock icon in his own right. Hughes, whom The Lizards toured extensively
throughout Europe, Scandinavia and Russia in 2004, lends his dynamic
vocals on four tracks on Against All Odds, as well as playing bass and
singing on a cut for future release. The classic rocker, who recently
sang lead vocals on Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi's new CD and is currently
recording a new solo album, at the time of the Lizards recordings was
quoted saying, "They were the best sessions I've ever done outside
my own music!"
In recent news, The Lizards have performed a series of exciting US dates
with guitar legend Uli John Roth and British classic rock heroes 10
Years After . Likewise the band is putting the finishing touches on
their third live DVD, shot last year in Europe, as well as finishing
a CD of hard rock covers - (both projects slated for a summer 2006 release).
On a similar note, bassist Randy Pratt will appear in an upcoming issue
of Bass Guitar Magazine, which will feature a full-photo spread of his
unique bass collection. Pratt can also be heard blowing his harp on
the soon-to-be-released Cactus CD featuring Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert.
Also, Mike DiMeo has lent his powerful vocals to Riot's forthcoming
album called Still Alive.
