- SCENES TO RELEASE CALL US AT THE NUMBER YOU PROVIDE ON ESCAPI MUSIC
APRIL 19, 2005
Formed in 1995 in Ludwigsburg, Germany by guitarist Chris Lorey, Scenes
has been a constantly evolving project. The newest and strongest incarnation
of the band is made up of Lorey, vocalist Alex Koch (ex-Powergod, Spiral
Tower), drummer Hendirk Edelthalhammer, bassist Jan Ebert and keyboardist
Florian Wenzel. Having signed a deal with Escapi Music, the band is
looking forward to making new fans and followers as they prepare to
unleash their music on the world.
The band’s latest foray into powerful progressive metal, Call
Us At The Number You Provide presents an intense philosophical and emotional
journey. Lorey says, “The whole album is about dead end connections
or misunderstandings. It’s about problems which could have been
avoided with the right communication.” Songs like “So (Father)”
which communicates a relationship between a father and son, show heartfelt
emotion behind a musical maelstrom and Koch’s powerful vocal delivery
helps to bolster the already jaw-dropping musicianship displayed by
the whole band. The mixing and mastering was done by Tommy Newton (Victory,
Halloween, Conception). Lorey says, “Even though we are a prog
band we wanted to sound really heavy and fat and I think Tommy achieved
this goal better than we all expected.” Due for an April 19th
release, Call Us At The Number You Provide promises to fill a void long
vacant in the world of experimental metal.

- DEREK SHERINIAN Teams Up With ZAKK WYLDE, STEVE STEVENS AND OTHER
GREATS
SHERINIAN Releases His 4th Instrumental Metal Masterpiece
“MYTHOLOGY” IN STORES NOW
HOLLYWOOD (March 29, 2005) – Famed keyboardist, Derek Sherinian,
releases yet another masterpiece on InsideOut Music. Mythology, Sherinian’s
fourth solo album is a true brilliant work of art. Playing with a cast
of virtuoso’s, Mythology is a combination of styles - rock, prog
and metal with splashes of jazz. As the composer, Sherinian left a lot
of room for the guest artists to feel natural in playing. So much so
that Zakk Wylde was inspired by the flow of the music that he wrote
lyrics for the track The River Run and also performed the vocals.
The cast o’ characters are comprised of Steve Stevens (Billy Idol),
Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society/Ozzy), Allan Holdsworth, Steve Lukather
(Toto), Simon Phillips (Toto), John Sykes (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake, Blue
Murder), Tony Franklin (The Firm/Blue Murder), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Blue
Murder/Whitesnake/Ted Nugent/Ozzy), Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra/Dixie
Dregs) and Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, Ozzy, Slashes Snakepit). With a
line-up like that you can only expect the best.
Much of the album was recorded at Sherinian’s own Beachwood Manor
Studios in Burbank, CA. Considering that he has released eight full-length
recordings in the last five years – three solo albums, two with
Planet X, two with all-star quartet Platypus and one with Platypus offshoot
Jughead – the studio is always busy. That’s just the way
Sherinian likes it. “All I’m trying to do is create music
that moves me first,” he says. “I hope other people dig
it too.”

- CANNIBAL CORPSE, SADUS, AND INCANTATION TO ATTEND PRE-DEATH FEST PARTY
FOR MEET AND GREET
SEATTLE - The pre-party for the Northwest Death Fest will be held on
April 2 at Jimmy Zs in Everett, Wash.
The evening will feature performances from nine bands, as well as a
meet and greets and autograph session with headliners Cannibal Corpse,
Sadus, and Incantation. Jasmin St. Claire will also attend the party
to sign autographs.
"The pre-show party is a good opportunity for people to meet some
of their favorite bands and gear up for a full day of punishing brutality,"
said Robert Day, vocalist/guitarist for Blackgoat. "Just make sure
to save enough energy for the main event. A long day of headbanging
fury awaits!"
There are five bands on the bill that are also playing the following
day on the Northwest Death Fest - Funeral Age, Kuru, Full Throttle,
Mummification, and Embryonic Devourment.
Pathos, Times Of Desperation, Zuckuss, and Evangilist will also perform
at the pre-fest party.
"It is awesome that the local true metal scene in Seattle has shaped
up to become what it is," said Kevin Bedra, vocalist/guitarist
from the Seattle band Funeral Age. "As for the headliners, it will
be a distinct honor to have shared the stage with such legends."
"This party will get everyone psyched for the festival," said
promoter Frank Hetzel. "The bands will be tearing it up extra hard,
especially since Cannibal Corpse, Sadus, and Incantation will be in
the house watching and hanging with the fans."
Tickets for the Northwest Death Fest 2005 will be available at the pre-party,
as well as through Ticketmaster, Northwestdeathfest.com, and the Fenix
Underground box office.
The all-day metal event will be held at the Fenix Underground in Seattle
on April 3, featuring one-off performances by Cannibal Corpse, Sadus,
and Incantation, as well as 24 underground metal acts from the Pacific
Northwest area.
Guitarist Rob Barrett, who was a member of Cannibal Corpse from 1993
to 1997, will rejoin the band for their Northwest Death Fest performance.
"It's been a while since we played in the Northwest, so we can't
wait to play this festival," said Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex
Webster. "Rob Barrett is joining back up with us on guitar for
this show, so expect a lot of old classics as well as some more recent
tunes."
Jimmy Zs is located at 1712 Hewitt Ave. in Everett, Wash. Doors open
at 5 p.m. and the first band takes the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5
at the door with a Death Fest ticket or $10 without. This is an all

- Sharon And OZZY Osbourne Flee House Fire
BBC News is reporting that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had to flee their
mansion when a blaze broke out as they slept.
The fire started in the living room of the Buckinghamshire home late
at night.
BLACK SABBATH star Ozzy and "X-Factor" judge Sharon were roused
by a fire alarm and ran to safety in the garden, rescuing their pets
as they escaped.
The couple were not injured in the fire, which happened on Good Friday
(March 25), but were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
Two fire engines turned up at the home and four firefighters wearing
breathing apparatus went inside to douse the flames.
Fire chiefs believe the cause may have been electrical.
On Wednesday (March 30) fire officers visited the couple to give them
safety advice.
The blaze is the latest in a series of blows for the MTV reality show
stars.
Last November the couple were burgled at the Chalfont St Peter mansion,
with an estimated ?2m-worth (approximately $3.8 million) of jewelry
stolen.
Eleven months before the burglary Ozzy had suffered a near-fatal crash
on a quad bike. [Source: Blabbermouth.net]

- NOCTURNE TO RELEASE 'GUIDE TO EXTINCTION' ON APRIL 19, 2005,
THROUGH TRIPLE X RECORDS
BAND'S FOURTH OVERALL ALBUM GOES IN METAL-ORIENTED DIRECTION
'THE FREE FOR ALL TOUR' WITH PIGFACE SCHEDULED THIS SPRING
The industrial band Nocturne will release 'Guide To Extinction' on April
19, 2005, through Triple X Records.
It's the third full-length album and fourth album overall from Nocturne.
The band's two core members are vocalist/founder Lacey Conner -- a striking
woman with an otherworldly voice -- and guitarist/programmer Chris Telkes.
The 13 songs on 'Guide To Extinction' include "Shallow," "I
Lie," "Alibi," "Passion," "Walk Away,"
"Indulge," "Class War," "Nothing," "Dirty
Sanchez," "No Way Out," "Dead Man," "Cocaine
Sex" and "They'll Never Find Your Body."
"Our roots are in industrial music, but 'Guide To Extinction' finds
us going in a metal-oriented direction. It feels very natural,"
says Conner.
Conner and Telkes were a couple for 8 1/2 years but broke up about a
year ago. They remain close friends, but Conner admits some songs on
'Guide To Extinction' are the split's aftermath.
"We have spent so much time and blood, sweat and tears on Nocturne
that it's not worth it to throw it all away," says Conner.
The band puts on a mesmerizing, hypnotic and wildly entertaining live
show.
"We focus on our heavier material when it comes to our live set,"
Conner says.
Nocturne, with touring bass guitarist Rotten Rotny and special guest
touring drummer Ben Graves of Murderdolls (the side project of Joey
Jordison of Slipknot), will embark on an extensive tour, 'The Free For
All Tour' with headliners Pigface, in 2005.

- BRUCE DICKINSON
New Solo album Tyranny of Souls
Released May 24th 2005 on Sanctuary Records
Bruce Dickinson is an artist who has influenced thousands of singers,
musicians and fans alike in his outstanding role as the front man of
legendary band Iron Maiden. He has achieved great success as a solo
artist, and is also acclaimed as a Radio DJ, TV presenter, pilot, author
and voice of modern music.
It has been seven years since Dickinson released his last solo album,
The Chemical Wedding, which received massive critical acclaim while
exploring intriguing and dark themes. The intervening years have seen
him make a highly successful return to Iron Maiden, with two huge albums
and record breaking live shows and tours.
Tyranny Of Souls, Bruce’s new solo venture, sees him return once
again to collaborate with guitarist/producer/writer Roy Z. The album’s
cover is adorned with a 15th century depiction of Hell by Hans Hemling
and the music continues along this path to explore dark, apocalyptic
themes. Delving into science, theology and of course, his love of flight,
with thought provoking, intelligent and menacing lyrics that are sure
to leave the listener’s mind unsettled, Tyranny Of Souls is pure
Dickinson. Heavy riff-laden songs and explosive virtuoso guitar work
from Roy joined with the definitive Dickinson soaring vocals, makes
this ground breaking album a tour de force of modern Metal.
It was following on from the end of the last Maiden tour that Bruce
saw an opportunity to work alongside Roy again.
“With Maiden, once the band has finished up on the tours, we all
tend to go our separate ways and do our own thing for a while until
it’s time to saddle up again for the next album. I knew I could
seize the chance to work with Roy in between his work on the new Judas
Priest album. We both work quickly together which I like and the recording
is very organic so it came together quite easily. I’m very proud
of it.”

- SEVERE TORTURE - Bloodletting
"Appearing in 2001 with the brutally heavy Feasting on Blood, Severe
Torture took the metal world by storm with its thunderous approach and

worked to expand their worldwide fanbase. With Bloodletting, the band’s
first live album, the band once again is put front-stage proving they
are a formidable contender in current-day death metal circles.
Bloodletting features 15 band and fan favorites, including live renditions

- BORKNAGAR - Acoustic Album!
"Dear fans and associates,
Having created epic metal for several years now, an idea and a vision
has arisen within the Borknagar camp, and we hereby want to inform you
about how it will affect our forthcoming release: The next BORKNAGAR
album will be an acoustic effort based entirely on the epic and progressive
aspect of the band. The recording will commence this very spring, most
likely in late May, at Toproom Studio in Norway as we are planning an
autumn release.
This is something we have wanted to do for many years now, and the idea
has lingered within the band ever since the recording of Quintessence
and a few private sessions with a grand piano and an acoustic guitar.
The album will be acoustic based but largely arranged with a wide range
of instruments and vocal styles. It will be recorded by the same line-up
that did EPIC, and we will be working with different locations during
the recording process in order to catch the sounds of different acoustic
environments. Musically the album will be rather dissimilar from what
we have done before, though the unique BORKNAGAR-sound will surly shine
through.
This is not a permanent change of the bands musical style, but rather
a musical quest and a challenge for us as well as for our audience!
The title of the album will be released soon.
Best regard,
Øystein G. Brun

- DIVINE EMPIRE - New album & tour
Florida´s death metal outfit DIVINE EMPIRE is ready to unleash
their brand new, hate fueled bullets upon all of us with their new album
“Method Of Execution” ! Opening with the crushing atmospheric
track “Vowed Revenge,” it becomes immediately clear that
the new album “Method of Execution” is a giant leap forward
for the band. “Prelude to the Storm,” for example, provides
some beautiful classical guitar melodies accompanied by violin and cello
lines before blasting into “Storm of Hatred".
Produced once again by Jeremy Staska (Malevolent Creation, Hateplow,
Remembering Never, Nonpoint, Poison The Well), DIVINE EMPIRE have achieved
their most stellar production to date. The guitars are clear yet dirty;
the drums sound big yet sharp; and the bass cuts through beautifully,
making Blachowicz’s impressive techniques on the four-string apparent.
He also gives the vocal performance of his career, displaying a range
that could very well give Glen Benton a run for his money.
DIVINE EMPIRE have always released strong death metal records, but with
“Method of Execution”, the band has reached a creative zenith.
They’ve grown from their straight ahead death metal origins to
include a variety of influences, helping distance them from their Malevolent
Creation brethren. Stronger melodies, catchier song structures and hints
of classical, doom, black, and even classic rock all rear their ugly
heads. Without a doubt the EMPIRE has solidified its reign and shall
continue to rule for years to come.

- GUITAR SHREDDER “JOHN 5” WILL JOIN ROB ZOMBIE
HEADLINING THE 2ND STAGE @ OZZFEST 2005
HOLLYWOOD (March 24, 2005) – John 5 is ‘shredder of choice’
for Horror Rocker Rob Zombie for this years Ozzfest 2005 tour. “I'm
totally stoked about this because this guy is a fucking shredder,”
explains Zombie. “I played Thunder Kiss 65 with him at The Arrowhead
Pond Arena for a benefit a couple weeks back and it never sounded so
fucking good." John 5 is elated that he will be playing guitar
for Rob Zombie on the Hot Topic Second stage at this year's Ozzfest.
"I'm totally ecstatic about having the opportunity to play with
Rob on Ozzfest,” exclaims John 5. “He has been one of my
favorite artists for the longest time. I had the opportunity to play
with him a few weeks back, and never thought that I would have the chance
to share the stage with him playing the Zombie songs we all know and
love!"
John5 is best known for his tour-of-duty with the controversial Marylin
Manson. "I had a great run with Marilyn Manson. “It was a
lot of fun and it was a really great experience, but I've got a lot
of other stuff going on. I'm busier now than I was on tour," explains
John5. A lot of stuff going on indeed. While playing with famed guitar
guru Les Paul in New York, Paul gave John5 some good old-fashioned advice.
He told the player to venture out with his monster playing ability and
go solo. Influenced by Les Paul’s advice, John5 is unleashing
solo project aptly named Vertigo.
Since that release, John5 has gone on to put together another band project
named LOSER. John5 launched his new band LOSER to the public live in
Hollywood, bringing much attention to the major labels. You will be
hearing more about LOSER this summer - Introducing to you the players
are Joe (vocals, yes, just Joe), John5 (guitar), Charles Lee (bass)
and Glenn Crain (drums).
John 5 has yet one more project up his sleeve for 2005. He will be recording
his second instrumental on Shrapnel Records. This album will have guitar
Shred-King Steve Vai and chicken pickin’ Maestro Albert Lee. This
untitled album is in the works and will release fall 2005 –
"John 5 is an underrated guitar Giant.
It's rare to hear a musician fuse various styles and
create a unique blend and a brand all his own. It takes balls
but that's what's needed to be truly original."

- THE ‘BATTLE FOR OZZFEST’ TOUR COMING YOUR WAY
‘A DOZEN FURIES,’ ‘MANNTIS’ AND ‘CURSE
YOUR NAME’
HOLLYWOOD (March 24, 2005) – Saturday March 26th launches the
Battle For Ozzfest Tour in Hollywood, Ca at the Avalon. The top 3 winners
from the show will brutalize the stage with their raw-metal music.
“Battle For Ozzfest” aired on MTV from Oct. 25th –
Jan. 10th on Monday nights. At the open-call auditions held in Los Angeles
and New York City, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne got a first-hand look at
some of the most talented bands from all over America. After many long
weeks, the battle had finally come to an end. And now we present you
the Top-3 on tour - ‘A Dozen Furies,’ ‘Manntis.’
And ‘Curse Your Name.’ These 3 bands beat out over 600 bands
to compete on MTV’s “Battle For Ozzfest.”
A Dozen Furies, the Dallas-based metal outfit has landed side-by-side
with some of metal’s most popular contemporary acts (including
Chimaira, Sworn Enemy, 18Visions, As I Lay Dying, and The Bled). The
future looks just as busy and productive for the band, as they plan
on writing and releasing their first full length record and touring
all summer long on Ozzfest 2005. www.adozenfuries.com
Manntis is a five piece band From the Riverside county area of Southern
California. Their sound of music cannot really be labeled into a certain
category of style due to the fact it reaches so many different types.
The best way you could describe would be Hardcore with a lot of metal
influences. Many bands have influenced the members through the years
including Deftones, Pantera, Killswitch Engage, Boy sets Fire, Zao,
Machine Head, Sepultura, Meshuggah, Hatebreed and Lamb of God. www.manntis.com
Curse Your Name, from bucolic North Carolina is a 6-piece unit that
knows no boundaries when it comes to climbing to the top. This is not
a band that relies solely on one type of sound; it’s all over
the radar, ranging from slow and psychotically peaceful melodies to
fast-paced and aggressive chaos. www.curseyourname.com

- Polish horde IPERYT has just finished its first assault called "Particular
Hatred".
This EP consists of four massive nihilist hymns which can be only described
as dehumanized terror metal where raw oldschool meets speedcore beats
and cadaverous venom of lyrics in its particular way.
"Particular Hatred" was recorded and mixed during january/february
of 2005 in the pits of hell.
IPERYT is now looking for suitable label to cooperate with.
The Band will also appear on two live warfares in Poland this April.

- OCTAVIA SPERATI US RELEASE DATE SET
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records today confirms June 14 as the US release
date of Winter Enclosure, the debut album from Norway's 6-piece, all-female
band Octavia Sperati. Recorded in their hometown of Bergen, Norway,
the album was produced by Herbrand Larsen and Arve Isdal, both members
of US labelmates Enslaved.
Kerrang calls Octavia Sperati “extravagant, dramatic doom with
a rock and roll heart.” This, however, merely taps the surface
of what is contained on this, their full-length debut. Breathtaking,
provocative and yet metallic, the band's style is dynamic, commanding
and uniquely sensual. Expected to immediately appeal to fans of The
Gathering, My Dying Bride, Lacuna Coil, Third & the Mortal, Nightwish
and others, Octavia Sperati's dark romanticism is brought to impressive
heights amongst a backdrop of heavy doom and metallic edge resulting
in a unique musical experience. Already they are being hailed throughout
the European press community as word on the band initially starts to
circulate amongst American outlets.
Formed in 2000, Octavia Sperati is singer Silje Wergeland, bassist Trine
C. Johansen, drummer Hege S. Larsen, guitarists Gyri S. Losnegaard and
Bodil Myklebust, and keyboardist Tone Midtgaard. Already having graced
the stages at numerous European festivals, the band already enjoys an
extensive support throughout their native country. Winter Enclosure
has already found initial international acclaim from Kerrang, Terrorizer,
and Metal Hammer and all very early on in the label’s marketing/promotional
set up. With a video for “Lifelines of Depths” in the working
stages, it is expected to be an eventful and exceptionally busy year
for Octavia Sperati.
Track listing for Winter Enclosure is: Intro, Lifelines of Depths, Soundless,
Hymn, Hunting Eye, Future Is, Below Zero, Wasted on the Living, Without
Air (Before), Without Air (After).

- PRO-PAIN NEW ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE
TOUR KICKS OFF APRIL 3
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records today confirms June 14 as the stateside
release date for Prophets of Doom, the new album from long-running metal/hardcore
pioneers PRO-PAIN. In addition, the band prepares to kick off their
next US tour, following their recent run with labelmates Entombed, Crowbar
and The Mighty Nimbus. The tour, set to begin on April 3 in New York
City, will wrap in Rochester on May 12. The band will then perform two
headline shows before returning to Florida, their current base, to prepare
for already confirmed European summer-time festivals.
With Prophets of Doom, PRO-PAIN (as always) deliver a punishing record
that expands upon the diversity and musical acrimony that was found
on Fistful of Hate - their successful 2004 release. In fact, Prophets
can and is expected to be noted as the band's best album in their 15-year
career. Aggressive, meticulous, passionate, righteous - all distinguishing
traits that have come to symbolize the fundamentals the four-piece -
Prophets of Doom adds to the quartet's successful and enviable career
and confirms that they still manage to find room to improve. And more
importantly, impress.
Formed in 1990 by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), then
New York-based PRO-PAIN benefited early from substantial support via
MTV's Headbanger’s Ball. In 2004, the band returned to the program,
clocking in regular and repeated rotation with “Can You Feel It.”
The band, currently featuring guitarists Tom Klimchuck, Eric Klinger
(ex-Spudmonsters) and drummer JC Dwyer (ex-Paingod) with Meskil, again
plan a new video for Prophets of Doom; track not confirmed as of press
time. PRO-PAIN's worldwide catalog sales currently nears one million
units.
Track listing for Prophets of Doom: Neocon, UnAmerican, Hate Marches
On, One World Ain’t Enough, Getting Over, Operation Blood for
Oil, Torn, Death Toll Rises, The Prisoner, Days of Shame. The album
was produced by the band.
PRO-PAIN discography: Foul Taste of Freedom (1992), The Truth Hurts
(1994), Contents Under Pressure (1996), Pro-Pain (1997), Act of God
(1999), Round Six (2000), Road Rage Live (2001), Shreds of Dignity (2002),

later this spring. This year's Tuska-Festival is more international
than ever, with nearly half of the artists coming from abroad. The evening
clubs will most likely see some international action as well.
New additions in Finnish professionalism will be represented by Apocalyptica,
whose cello metal is witnessed way too rarely on their native soil.
Apocalytica just recently supported Rammstein on their European tour
and appeared stateside on a few selected dates.
German precision and universal greatness is brought to you by the mighty
Gamma Ray. The band last appeared on the bill at Tuska 2000 and have
since built their fanbase by selling out club shows on a regular basis.
Other additions include up-and-coming death metallers Amoral, Finnish-
singing Stam1na and Viikate, as well as Callisto who are about to embark
on a European tour in a few weeks.
The search continues for one more, either domestic or foreign artist.
Ticket sales for Tuska 2005 start on Friday April 1st. Three-day ticket
costs 67 euro, one-day ticket 32 euro. Go to www.lippupalvelu.fi
