1. How did the band get started? How did you meet
and how long have you been together? Bob Vigna:
We started beck in 88. Me & Tom were in Rigor Mortis (NY) and
after that broke up we decided to start something new and eventually
Immolation was born. We all knew each other before we actually played
together and are pretty much good friends. It's more than just music,
and band, it's really our lives. 2. How would you describe
your music? Bob Vigna: Very dark, haunting, intense,
unique, heavy, atmospheric, and unholy!! 3. What are your
biggest influences? Bob Vigna: There are so many,
we like all kinds of music. We started out with Metallica, Sabbath,
Dio, Maiden, Preist, Zepplin, Slayer Voivod, Destruction, Kreator,
etc, too many and lots of music today inspires us, metal and non-metal.
4. What influence do you think your bands has in music and
metal today? Bob Vigna: I think we have played
a major roll in the underground, but many people don't realize it.
5. What made you want to be in the band? And if you werent
in the band what would you be doing now? Bob Vigna:
We've all been into music for as long as we can remember. There's
just something about it that keeps us going. It is something to look
forward to, something that is powerful. It is just an interest we
started pursuing and never gave up on. Now we work even harder and
put that much more into it. We've been able to see the world, and
meet so many different people just from playing metal! And that's
what it's all about, the music and those who releate to it.
6. Are any band members in side projects? If so what are they,
and explain a little about them. Bob Vigna: No,
we run our own contracting/construction business and deal with this
band as it is, and that's enough for now. Haha... 7. How
would you feel if a band took their sound from yours and became very
well known? Bob Vigna: I think some have taken
bits and pieces by now, but we are the only ones who can truely do
our style. 8. What current bands do you like or respect?
Bob Vigna: Cannibal Corpse, Incantation, My Dying
Bride, Nile, Type O Negative, and many more. 9. How
many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them!!
Bob Vigna: We have 3 full length albums. "Dawn Of Possession",
"Here In After" and "Failures for Gods". They are all great so check
them out! 10. What demo/album do you like the best?
Bob Vigna: There is no best, just alot of great music
out there. 11. What is the meaning behind the songs?
Bob Vigna: There are alot of meanings, it all depends
on what the listener gets out of it. 12. What are the
bands favorite songs? Bob Vigna: "No Jesus, No
Beast", "Once Ordained", and "The Devil I Know" 13. What
does the future hold for the band? Bob Vigna:
Going on tour in next week with Six Feet Under in the states. Then
we will work on and record a new album, then tour some more and the
rest only time will tell! 14. If you could play with any
band who would it be and why? Bob Vigna: Tori
Amos, because we'd get to see her every night. 15. Who
writes the majority of the music? Bob Vigna:
We all have our strong points but it is the collaboration of everyone
involved that makes the songs the best possible. 16. Who
has been the favorite band youve played with and why?
Bob Vigna: Alot of great bands, all cool and great performances,
Cannibal Corpse, Impaled Nazarene, Vader, Six Feet Under, Nile, Incantation,
and lots more. 17. Where did you get the band name from?
Bob Vigna: Our first drummer Neal came up with it.
