1. How did the band get started? How did you meet
and how long have you been together? Dallas Coyle
and Doc Coyle: We've been God Forbid for just under 4 years. We
all met through a mutual friend. We've all been friends before we
were a band. So it makes it better for us all. For everyone except
our bass player this is our first band. We met Corey (drummer) and
Byron (singer) when I was 16, I'm 21 now. 2. How would
you describe your music? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle:
It's just heavy music. With a lot of time changes and groove.
We are an American Metal Band. 3. What are your biggest
influences? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Metallica,
Megadeth, Carcass, Morbid Angel, GnR, etc, etc. 4. What
influence do you think your bands has in music and metal today?
Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Not really sure. We'll see
in a year. It's too early to find out. In New Jersey I think we've
made real metal really popular. 5. What made you want
to be in the band? And if you weren't in the band what would you be
doing now? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: That's
something I don't want to think about. I'm not sure. I dabble in many
things. After the band I want to do something music related. This
band has shaped me as a person. 6. Are any band members
in side projects? If so what are they, and explain a little about
them. Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: No side projects.
Not enough time. 7. How would you feel if a band took
their sound from yours and became very well known? Dallas
Coyle and Doc Coyle: I'd be psyched. Because that means, we were
part of a music movement. Every single band in the world is a gateway
band. Bands make it easier for other bands to break. It's a cycle
that never stops. 8. What current bands do you like or
respect? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Meshuggah,
The Haunted, Nevermore, I mean most of the bands out right now are
amazing. It's great. A lot of bands put out their best albums this
year. 9. How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about
them!! Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: We have 3
albums. The first one is a 5 song EP on We Put Out Records. It was
originally on 9 Volt Discs. But it went out of print. And it's coming
back out this month. We have 2 other full lengths. The first "Reject
The Sickness" on 9 Volt. Then "Determination" on Century
Media. 10. What demo/album do you like the best?
Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: I like "Determination"
and "Reject The Sickness." 11. What is the meaning
behind the songs? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: We
broaden our subjects. We don't speak specifically about one thing.
Most are about your inner emotions though. 12. What are
the bands favorite songs? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle:
Broken Promise, Divide My Destiny, Go Your Own Way, Amendment,
all the songs we play live. 13. What does the future hold
for the band? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Not
sure. We will be touring our asses off! 14. If you could
play with any band who would it be and why? Dallas
Coyle and Doc Coyle: There are really too many to say. Some of
them we've played with. The Nevermore/Opeth/Angel Dust tour is a dream!
So who knows what's next. 15. Who writes the majority
of the music? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: My
brother, me, and our drummer. I wrote a lot of the new album though.
16. Who has been the favorite band you've played with and
why? Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Every band we've
toured with has been amazing. Again, it's too hard to gauge.
17. Where did you get the band name from? Dallas
Coyle and Doc Coyle: Popped in my head one day. I changed it the
next day. 18. Describe what the band is like live?
Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: We try and bring as much energy
to the stage as possible. Be intense and be tight! 19.
If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?
Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: Us jamming. We did a video,
it's cool. I never thought we would do that. And we are jamming in
it. The next one will hopefully have beautiful girls in it.!
20. Are there any touring plans made; if so tell me about them?
Dallas Coyle and Doc Coyle: We're going to England
in June with Stampin Ground. Then after that we're not sure. I can't
really say because nothing is solid. 21. Where do you
think the band will be 20 years from now? Dallas
Coyle and Doc Coyle: In the grave! We will stop when the musical
output becomes less than our best. We will stop when we put out our
best record for us. |
