| 1. How did the band get started? How did you meet
and how long have you been together? Kevin Talley: John and Jason played in a metal band in the late eighties called "THE MOTLEY TWISTED BROTHERS" but it wasn't until '92 that they decided to go a little heavier and formed DYING FETUS. When the original cookie monster/vox and guitarist parted from the band, John gave it up on the drums (thank god) and started playing guitar again which was the original plan but they had trouble finding a drummer. Finally they did, Rob Belton joined on drums and Brian Latta on the guitar around late '94. After Rob, I (Kevin Talley) took over on the drums in '97. Sparky Voyles replaced Latta in late '98. There will be no further line up changes. 2. How would you describe your music? Kevin Talley: Well, we like to keep things diverse--I guess we call it "brutal death metal". We have some blast, and also some breakdowns. It's nothing like HATE ETERNAL (great band) that is nonstop blasting sickness. Sometimes fast and sometimes not so fast. Our guitar sound is fantastic and our live show is SPECTACULAR!!! 3. What are your biggest influences? Kevin Talley: WELL you know-- QUIET RIOT, TWISTED SISTER, VADER, SUFFOCATION 4. What influence do you think your bands has in music and metal today? Kevin Talley: I don't know-- I guess there are some bands playing DYING FETUS covers which I think is kind of funny. I wish I could see it. Over all I hope that we can remain as unique as long as possible even though we aren't really too original--but who the hell is now anyway? 5. What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you be doing now? Kevin Talley: Well, originally I wanted to be a rockstar, but somewhere I got side tracked and ended up in DYING FETUS. Oh well-- it's fun and I enjoy the music and fans even though we don't have as many as the Back Street Boys (Jason's favorite Group). If I wasn't in this band I would be a PORN STAR. 6. Are any band members in side projects? If so what are they, and explain a little about them. Kevin Talley: John, Sparky, and I are in a band called KNUCKLE DEEP which is unique hardcore with heavy vox and hip hop feels. To obtain a copy, send $5 to BLUNT FORCE RECORDS. 7. How would you feel if a band took their sound from yours and became very well known? Kevin Talley: KILL THEM!! 8. What current bands do you like or respect? Kevin Talley: VEHEMENCE is a new band out of AZ. and are fucking awesome. I also like CRYPTOPSY, SKINLESS, VILE, and other shit too. 9. How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them!! What demo/album do you like the best? Kevin Talley: Has to be 'KILLING ON ADRENALINE 11. What is the meaning behind the songs? Kevin Talley: The songs are about how fucked up society is and how DYING FETUS can make it all better. Our web has a link to Jason's which has D.F. lyrics. 12. What are the bands favorite songs? Kevin Talley: Shit I don't know, why all the hard questions? I guess 'KILLING..' WE ARE YOUR ENEMY, BEATEN INTO SUBMISSION, RAPED ON THE ALTER, KILL YOUR MOTHER/RAPE YOUR DOG, INTENTIONAL MANSLAUGHTER, EVISERATED OFFSPRING, THE "LOVE SONG" -track 6 on the EP. 13. What does the future hold for the band? Kevin Talley: Making albums and playin' shows. Actually, we are going to start touring full time in the near future so check our site for a show nearest you! 14. If you could play with any band who would it be and why? Kevin Talley: KID ROCK-- 'CAUSE THEY BRING IN THE BITCHES ..AND THEY FUCKIN RULE. 15. Who writes the majority of the music? Kevin Talley: Riffmaster Gallagher. Jonny that is... But recently everyone has been contributing their part. This next album "DESTROY THE OPPOSITION" will be the most diverse D.F. album out. 16. Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with and why? Kevin Talley: Suffocation--because they just fuckin rule-nothing compares. 17. Where did you get the band name from? Kevin Talley: Well== John was taking a smoke break at work in Capital Hill, and while he puffed on the joint he so determinely rolled minutes earlier, there lied a DYING FETUS on the ground and John scratched his head--hmmm... that would be a good name for the band. 18. Describe what the band is like live? Kevin Talley: Clean guitar, intense, well rehearsed. An over all 4 stars 19. If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it? Kevin Talley: In fact we are making a D.F. video right now that will be out this summer. It will have a lot of partying and shows. 20. Are there any touring plans made; if so tell me about them? Kevin Talley: Touring late summer for "DESTROY THE OPPOSITION" in America. We are headed back to Europe in June. Again- the site will have the tour dates posted. 21.
