First of, I want to say that it is about time that Jason Becker
has gotten a tribute of this magnitude. The talent showcased on
these two CDs could run circles around most music genres. Jason
Becker was an amazing musician of the eighties. Becker was known
for his solo efforts and his work with Marty Friedman in Cacophony.
Personally, I think Jason Becker was one of the most talented, if
not the most talented, musician ever to pick up a guitar. Becker
was stricken by the disease ALS by the age of twenty. These disks
are a mix of hard rock and instrumental work, along with covers
of music that Jason did with David Lee Roth before be was stricken
by the disease. Also included on these disks are covers of some
of this solo album songs and a few songs written and dedicated to
Jason. The one thing that separates this tribute album from most,
is that all musicians that participated on these CDs performed all
for free. All royalties are going to the family of Jason Becker,
and with musicians like Marty Friedman, Vinnie Moore, Chris Poland,
Rob Johnson, Mattias IA Eklund and many more amazing musicians,
there are many reasons why people should pick up this tribute. There
are thirty one tracks on these two disks that spans over one hundred
and fifty-six minutes. Every song on here shows the talent that
Jason Becker once possessed and how he has inspired ever musician
on these disks. My hats off to you gentlemen, very well done.
