This is the second split release between these
two masterful sounds of Vinterriket
and Northaunt. As
a split of 2 bands, it sorta makes for a good full-length. Both are in reminiscence
of one another, yet contain totally different stature. By the way, this
is all dark ambient! No black metal fills from Vinterriket this time (that's
ok). The 4 tracks presented by Vinterriket (tracks 1, 3, 5 and 7) are soothingly
and haunting patrons of the winter landscape. The 3 tracks presented by
Northaunt (tracks 2, 4 and 6) are also soothing, but more uneasy and almost
doom-laden in structure which can paint a portrayal of dark caves in the
woods or something to that extent. Northaunt is worthy of attention as is
Vinterriket!! Some very atmospheric material. Definitely a relaxing journey
for the mind... for those whom wish to delve this deep.
