Certainly, as I've always stated, there is
room for much more Swedish death metal and that is what this is! Vicious
stems thrash metal to melodic death metal making their debut album,
"Vile, Vicious & Victorious" a very stunning triumph.
Throughout this 9 track and 35 minute opus, I sense much influence
from guitar-chopping thrash bands like Forbidden, Exodus, Venom, and
thrash/death metal gods- Pestilence. However, you can hear alot more
influence from such bands as The Crown, Carnal Forge, and At The Gates...
as more and more people are starting to sound these days. That is
my only shred of speckled criticism on this new onslaught of Vicious
metal! There are even some Death-like technicalities thrown into the
mix just to throw the listener for a hook. Honestly, the name of the
band is quite accurate for a change. At least it wasn't something
like- Ghastly Black Impalement or Kykampeög... haha. I think
this is what I enjoy the most. A band whose not afraid of their melodic/aggressive
formula and whom anybody can actually pronounce their name. The track
"Trigger Needs Some Action" is without a doubt, something
extremely satisfying for anyone into metal! Fans of Carnal Forge,
At The Gates, Death, Carcass, Venom, etc.... should check this out.
I guess that means almost everyone!
