"Psychotic Sculpture" is the latest
release by Vesperian Sorrow.
In fact, it is the bands second full-length, and it is a very blackened
release. Vesperian Sorrow's sounds can best be described as a mix
of all black metal bands, which leads to them having their own sound,
to a point. Some similarities can be heard in bands like Dimmu Borgir,
...And Oceans, Borknagar and Old Man's Child. But unlike most black
metal bands, this one is from the United States; Austin Texas to be
exact. The album consists of nine tracks and over fifty-eight minutes
of music to its extreme. My favorite tracks are "Spiral Symphony"
and "Astrodramatica." Some other tracks that I thought that
were decent include "Into The Realm Of Dreams And Haunts"
and "Arena Unorthodox." Vesperian Sorrow has played some
pretty big shows, with some well known metal bands including Marduk,
Borknagar, Samael, Old Man's Child, Enslaved, Immortal, Cradle of
Filth, King Diamond, The Gathering, Katatonia, Anathema, Moonspell,
In Flames, Morbid Angel, S.O.D., Opeth, Mayhem, Immolation and a host
of others. This should tell you that these guys like to play shows
with the big boys, and to continually play with such bands must also
show that these guys do a great live show.
