“Helping the World To See” is
the second release for Vehemence
on Metal Blade Records. They continue their brutal and melodic death
style from their last record “God Was Created.” For those
who have been living under a rock since 2002, the band has elements
that might remind you of Amon Amarth, Suffocation, Deicide, Dying
Fetus and some of the more melodic parts are little like Hypocrisy.
Every song will get your head nodding for different reasons. These
guys have created an album that is dynamic, brutal and melodic. It’s
hard to pick what songs I like the most when just about every track
is first-class; this is a well-formed record. To start, “By
Your Bedside,” “Spirit of the Soldier,” and “We
Are All Dying” shows why a label like Metal Blade signed these
metal-heads. Anyone would be proud of a band that has this ability
and continuing potential of unlimited improvement. All the elements
are there that can allow them to expand and improve on each previous
album. “To the Taste,” “You Don’t Have to
Be Afraid Anymore,” and “What Could Go Wrong?” are
a few more songs that help state my case. You have to hear the tracks
to understand what I mean. They even have an instrumental that makes
this CD complete. It’s as if Vehemence is on the verge of making
an album that everyone will talk about for years to come. I can’t
wait for more insane brutality!
