The Suicidal Tendencies has touch a good
deal of people in the metal world. From hardcore to trash to even
death metal and powermetal they have shown some bands the way. Tributes
are one of the best ways to pay homage to the bands you love and admire,
or to thank them for getting you where you are today. This tribute
is like many others, bands that shouldn't even be playing shouldn't
be on it. Don't get me wrong, some of the songs are covered greatly,
but some others probably would piss of Suicidal. There are three songs
on this CD that I liked, and one of which I thought was amazing. Black
Earth's cover of "Pledge Your Allegience" and Scary German
Guy's cover of "You Can't Bring Me Down" are very good covers.
Fury's cover of "Trip At The Brain" is amazing! One of the
best covers of any song that any band has done. Hats off to them.
It got me to remember those days when I was growing up, listening
to metal and just hanging out, job well done guys. The rest of the
songs you can take them or leave them. Some have their points when
they are good, and some you just shake your head and say to yourself
"Why?" If you are a Suicidal fan then you probably would
enjoy this 11 song tribute. If not, you might want to find out what
you are getting into before you get this CD. If all the songs were
as good as Fury's cover then I would be preaching for everyone to
get this, but simply put, it isn't.
