It’s been a couple years since Solace
Of Requiem released their self-title debut album. These metallers are
back with a new disc entitled “Utopia Reborn” and it continues
their technical, brutal death metal style, with a little more development
as a group. Components remind me of Immolation, Morbid Angel, Death and
a few others. Not a bad bunch of bands to be associated with. Speaking of
which, there are guest background vocals by Brett Hoffmann of Malevolent
Creation. A nice addition to the band’s conventional death approach.
As with most death metal bands, Solace Of Requiem are aggressive, have adequate
solos, every so often have a really awesome death riff, and you can find
a quantity of heavy blast beats as well. Mastering was consummated by Andy
Clausen (Asphyx, Belphegor, Callenish Circle, Dew Scented, Krisiun, Rotting
Christ, Sinister, The Old Dead Tree). Yeah, he definitely knows what he’s
doing. If you are into technical death metal check out Solace of Requiem.
