Metal Mike Chlasciak’s (Testament,
Halford) new band PainmuseuM
has just released “Metal For Life.” Anyone that considers
them self a metalhead needs to hear this album! Metal Mike and his
band of Metal Masters show what a metal album should really sound
like. Obviously Metal Mike is writing all the riffs to grab your attention,
Bobby Jarzombek (Iced Earth, Halford) adds his heaviness while thrashing
the drums, and Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Sadus, Death) pounds his
bass into submission. Tim Clayborne’s (Hatred) vocals sound
like Judas Priest to Cradle of Filth to Witchery. Tim can sing and
he can contort his voice to the point you would think it’s a
banshee behind the microphone. You could call “Metal For Life”
oldschool thrash with modern a death metal crunch. It’s not
a perfect description of PainmuseuM, but its close. The abrasive vocals
seem to be favored and are perfect for this CD. Excellent leads and
choppy riffs are all over this album and along with the blasts from
the drums, this hits pretty hard. All tracks are at least decent but
“American Metalhead” and “Speak The Name”
got my attention the most. To finish off this album they had it mixed
by ROY Z (Judas Priest, Dickinson, Halford, Helloween), mastered by
James Murphy (Testament, Death, Disincarnate) and had additional vocals
by Joe Comeau (Annihilator, Overkill). Metal Mike covered everything
for this album. “Metal For Life“ rocks hard and heavy!
Polish-up your horns, you need to hold them up high for this one!
