It seems that recently there have been a
lot of bands that are making songs in the Death/Thrash type genre.
Maze Of Torment
is no different, and they have really nothing special to give. They
seem like a tight band, but they don't have anything that make them
exceptional, or stick out above the others. The thing that really
gets me about their album "Death Strikes" is that all the
songs sound to similar, and after a while it gets a little boring.
But they do have some good riffing and a good half of the album was
decent. "Death Strikes," "Sodomizing Death Spell,"
"This Is Death," "Aggressive Bloodhunt," and "The
Infernal Force" all were songs that had redeeming qualities.
The whole CD is 10 songs and over 31 minutes, the songs might be only
three minutes each, but they can pack a punch. There really isn't
much more I can say about this band, except for hopefully they will
progress some, and experiment, there is always room for improvement. Rating: 68 |
