For a 5-song demo, this has a very decent driving
power in the production. However, like most demos, it is very muddy. Malicious
Damage are a bit odd to find any classification besides maybe deathcore?
Some times the vocals are derived from Phil Anselmo (most notably in "Eighty-five
percent") and other times, it is like a more guttural Max Cavalerra
or something (like in "Flesh of God"). The guitar and bass work
are very straightforward with loads of power-chord riffs and some good fills
every now and then (via- solo or acoustic part). The drumming has a consistent
double kick pattern in just about every instance you hear. There is a lot
of great potential here which would make these guys more of a thrash/death
band I think. We'll just have to wait and see. For fans of Pantera, Biohazard,
Sepultura and Lamb of God...
