Malebolgia - Requiem For The Inexorable (Comatose Music) - Back
Several years after the promo we now see the aptly named “Requiem for the Inexorable” applied to Malebolgia's new album. Technically this is their forth release with a demo, a promo, a split and now this one, a full-length album. All they need now is a single…

I don’t think you will necessarily find a single on this CD, but if you are looking for a brutal death grind, Malebolgia should be to your liking. Combine bands like Cephalic Carnage, Dying Fetus, Skinless, Behmoth and you will get something close.

Most of the material is brutally heavy, super fast, and/or chaotic. Merge these riffs with tons of blastbeats and that will keep the intensity up. Some of these are pretty good death metal riffs. Mixed in to this malicious concoction are a number of solos. However, they are just ok.

Main death vox remind me of David Vincent (Morbid Angel) some. They are a little easier to understand that the other vocals too. These other death vocals are super guttural, similar to what Dying Fetus does on the mic.

The recording is a tad bit raw, but they use it to their advantage most of the time. I personally like to hear something like this cleaned up so I can hear the brutality more. With the songs blending together a little I think it may fix it a tad.

There are twelve tracks on this CD with about thirty-six minutes of music. Track 6, “Requiem” is an instrumental. But what the hell is track 12? The last two are bonus tracks, but the last one just doest fit with the other music. They must have just wanted to record something different. Definitely NOT like the rest of music.

Well this was a decent release. A step up from the last stuff I heard from Malebolgia. If brutal metal is for you, so is “Requiem for the Inexorable.”
