Judas Iscariot is a one man project that
started back in 1992, and it has developed into a black metal band
that has its ideals fixed on how black metal used to be, the classic
days. The days of the raw fury, that was uncompromising, and just
plan sick. I believe that Akhenaten's (the lone member of the band)
style of primordial black metal is among the best of today's raw metal,
or any type of music. There is just something to the way he writes
his music, everything just falls into place. My favorite track on
this CD is "Benevolent Whore, Dethroned for Eternity" it
has the rawness of what Immortal used to have in the early days. "Journey
Through Visions of War" has the classic, slower paced, raw, black
metal sounds, much like the earlier days of Ancient. This song is
also another solid track. The forth track on the CD is a cool instrumental
track that leads into the last track of this CD called "Spill
The Blood Of The Tomb (special blitzkrieg version) BONUS." Any
fan of black metal, that never really got into the raw aspect, should
check Judas Iscariot out. You maybe surprised of what you hear.
