Forli, Italy is the home of power metal band
Hideweaver.
Basically, they write their material in the N.W.O.B.H.M. style. You
could say they are Maidenesque at parts, but they really have a different
feel. Songs are written pretty well, but don’t seem to quite
have the quality of other bands in the genre. They do many things
correctly, just not as good as bands like an Iron Maiden or Savatage.
The guitars work well together, the bass and drums fill in everything
else soundly, and vocals are solid. “Time To Rise” is
not bad, but nothing is really better than average except a couple
tracks. “Shinin’ Walls” and “God of the Mountain”
are the best tracks on the album in my opinion. There are some nice
parts on the seven tracks (excluding the intro), Hideweaver has the
ability to take another step forward towards metal glory. Only question
is, will they?
