Mixing the best elements
of thrash, hardcore and death metal, God
Forbid has released their second album; first on Century Media.
For the majority of the band members, this is their first band, but
you could never tell. These metallers are tight for being such a young
band. That can only mean one thing for this band, they probably will
become pretty popular, rather quickly. Trying to find band that sound
similar to God Forbid is hard, but you could consider the similarities
that they have with their label mates Shadows Fall. This album is
written quite well, and there are a handful of songs that I like.
They include "Broken Promises," "Divide My Destiny,"
"Wicked," "Go Your Own Way," and "God's Last
Gift." Among those "Wicked" is probably my favorite
track. There are twelve tracks on this CD which runs almost forty-seven
minutes. The future looks pretty promising for God Forbid, hopefully
they can continue writing material in the same vain. If they can do
that, they will be around for a long time. Rating: 88 |
