Goatwhore - Carving Out The Eyes Of God (Metal Blade Records) - Back
It’s been 3 years since the critically acclaimed “A Haunting Curse” was released. Goatwhore has done extensive touring in support of their Metal Blade debut. Now in 2009, “Carving Out the Eyes of God” is their second on Metal Blade (forth overall) and possibly the best release by the band.

Goatwhore has really grown to a force to be reckon with over the last 10 years. Their black metal attack is stylized, recognizable and unforgiving. They vary their music from speedy black to a thrash groove all the while keeping up the intensity and energy. Whether fast paced or groove paced this band rocks!

These ten tunes last for over forty minutes, and every track is in the 3 to 4 minute range. Nothing is cheap and short, nor prolonged and boring. This is classic Goatwhore at its best.

The groove driven black riffs are as good as ever. The fastidious riffs and blastbeats will leave you foaming at the mouth. It’s a good balance between fast and catchy. To round out this record the vocals are dark and devious. What else would a metalhead need? Every disc seems to top the last and will sure to get your fist pumping!

Helping out Goatwhore on this release is the infamous Erik Rutan; they recorded “Carving Out The Eyes Of God” at Manna Studios. Mastering was handled by the legendary Alan Douches of West West Side.

“Carving Out The Eyes Of God” will lead Goatwhore into the next decade, taking no prisoners and destroying everything in their path. Get your horns ready for this one!
