Gizmachi
creates experimental metalcore with a little nu metal on their album
“The Imbuing.” This is their debut as well as their record
label’s, Big Orange Clown Records. The sound is a cross between
Chimaira, Meshuggah, Mudvayne and Candiria. They have super heavy
down tuned guitars, experimental parts like Candiria, a powerful sound
like Chimaira and Meshuggah, some parts are even a little like Pantera…much
more than your typical metalcore band. It’s a loud, abrasive,
vibrant sound with lots of choppy heavy riffs. On the microphone are
hardcore screaming vocals mostly, sometimes almost death, and layered
singing vocals for many choruses. The production is excellent. M.
Shawn Craine better known as #6, Clown of Slipknot, produced this
disc. Eight songs for over forty-six minutes, there are no short songs.
Basically everything is about five minutes or longer except one that
is 4:19. “The Imbuing” is something both band and label
can be proud of…good job! Rating: 83 |
