Foreshadow - Nations Of Failure (Blastzone Entertainment) - Back
From the Tampa Bay area in Florida is Foreshadow with the new release “Nations of Failure.” The band is core oriented but with various metal traits mixed in, including death, black, and old-school thrash.

Slayer, Metallica, Mudvayne, and Pantera influence them. I would imagine other bands too. Parts remind me of Chimaira, Mushroomhead, any your typical hardcore band.

These tracks are filled with lots of plain riffs and some poor riff choices too. Though there are some catchy parts, but the body of the work is rather uneventful. The solos are bland, and could use some improvement. Some should be dropped too. Just don’t sound good at all. Also kinda generic are the acoustic interludes; possibly among the best of the material on the disc though.

Deathcore vocals on the mic...yelling and growls mostly. There a few sung parts, but that trait wasn’t used that often. Vocals are mostly decent, but nothing special. It's all been done before.

Something that could have been improved on “Nations Of Failure” is the production. It doesn't sound horrible, but is reminiscent of a demo sound... nothing to be proud of. It can make the ten songs and forty minutes be quite awkward to listen to.

I felt that most of “Nations Of Failure” is kinda boring. Foreshadow have a raw sound that they could clean up and they could tighten up a little too. They almost a garage band feel. Their isn’t much on here that I care for.
