I have to be honest this is a band whose name
I have heard around the circuits for a while now but I had never actually
heard the band, so I was excited to finally what all the buzz was about!
Fear My Thoughts
hail from Rheinfelden , Germany and the band's latest offering 'Isolation'
is a fantastic metal album for fans of bands such as System of a down, Drowning
Pool, and Godsmack! Since the band formed back in 1998 they have had a gradual
and steady climb up the rock ëní roll ladder, and there is no reason why
'Isolation' shouldn't put them up to the top! 'Numbered by the Beast' is
a hard rockiní track that you will thoroughly enjoy, the dynamics of the
song change a few times throughout which I really enjoyed, the drumming
work was amazing and the addition of vocalist Martin Fischer is fantastic.
'Bound And Weakened' is a great, somewhat commercial, track. I have no doubt
some of the Australian radio stations which have the balls to play something
a little heavier than blink 182 will benefit from playing 'Bound and Weakened'!
The song has all the ingredients of a successful radio hit, if given the
chance; you will love the catchy chorus, killer song! One of the heavier
songs on the album is 'Pitch Black' a song that is suited much more for
the long time fans of the band and has some hardcore style elements mixed
in, no doubt a crowd pleaser! Norman Lonhard's drumming ability shines through
on 'Pitch Black', there are some killer metal riffs during the song also
which will have you rocking out on your make believe stage with that limited
edition air guitar! I had made a reserve judgment about track nine from
the moment I read the name... 'Creeping Lord' wow what an amazing metal
track, this is the one song on the album that has a little something for
everyone, riffs that are based on obvious influences from the seventies
metal legends such as Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, with a more up to date
influence from guitarists such as Dimebag Darrell and Zakk Wylde. 'Creeping
Lord' is a fantastic track in which I am hooked on and constantly blast!
Overall considering I had been blind to Fear My Thoughts, I was more than
impressed with the band's latest album, I will now have the pleasure in
delving into the bands previous work and no doubt for other metal fans like
myself... once you hear 'Isolation' you too will be doing the same! 'Isolation'
is out now, grab a copy of this killer album or enter the 'Death Chamber'!
