Sau Paulo, Brazil is the home of thrash metal band Dragster.
This four song demo "New Times," shows that these guys
have potential. They are heavily influenced by Metallica, Exodus,
Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, and many other classic thrash metal
bands. They play very aggressive and balls to the wall, and they
want to grab your attention. The Great melodies in the song "The
Chase," reminds me a little of old Megadeth. This song sounds
excellent at some parts, and at others it sound less organized.
These guys know how to write great music, but at times it's like
they forgot how to tie parts of songs together. They need to work
a little on the transitions, but the majority of the riffs are heavy,
head nodding and catchy. In the short time since the band formed
in 1998, they have had their share of ups and downs. But now they
are on their way to record their first album in 2002. Rating: 74 |
