I have to be totally honest I wasn't overly pleased
with Disturbed's
last offering and when 'Indestructible' debuted at #1 on the Australian
and U.S. Charts I really didn't know what to expect. Let's face it…
it's extremely rare that a hard rock and or heavy metal band ever breaks
the top ten let alone debut at number one! After listening to the new album
a few times, it is clear that this is the bands best work since 'The Sickness'.
Almost every song on this album is catchy, has great hooks, and the production
overall is fantastic. Some of the stand out tracks on the album were 'Deceiver',
'Divide', 'Haunted' and 'Façade'! Disturbed front-man David Draiman
out does himself vocally on the new album, Dave's vocals seem to be getting
stronger and he has surely earned himself a place on metals most unique
vocalist with the help of 'Indestructible'. The Japanese edition includes
an amazing track titled 'Parasite'…no not the Kiss classic but certainly
one hell of a killer Disturbed track, which in my opinion should have been
released worldwide. Much like Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and Dio, Disturbed
is one of the newer bands who have continued on the tradition of using a
certain character to represent the band with every album release. The artwork
from 'Indestructible' is by far the best the band has offered thus far.
There is no doubt that Disturbed are about to ride the insane roller coaster
of major commercial success thanks to the new album, let's just hope they
don't fall off. 'Indestructible' is certainly an album that is fitting in
most metal fans collection, I recommend checking it out as soon as you can!
Disturbed's 'Indestructible' is out now via Reprise Records.
