Crehated - Anthems Of Hate (SG Records) - Back
In 2005, four musicians from Macerata, Italy formed a thrash band named Crehated. Ever since their inception, they have had the same lineup and the band was allowed to grow together as one.

While the base of their music is thrash oriented (like Slayer, Sepultura, Kreator, Exodus, Sodom, etc), they still have a bit of other influences from death metal and progressive power related music, and some more modern metal like Lamb of God. I swear I heard some Maiden influences, whether they are intentional or not.

Crehated keep aggressive for the most part with several thrashy and catchy riffs. There are some simple riffs that don’t have much creativeness to them, but the good riffs seem to balance this out...

The solos however are pretty good. You can feel the passion, and they don’t only last for a couple seconds. The vocals are cool too. It’s a yelling growl on the microphone; death vocals that remind me a little of Entombed vocalist Lars Göran Petrov and Unleashed vocalist Johnny Hedlund.

Production on the disc is second-rate...though not horrible; I could see this making more of an impression on me with a stronger recording and production. Most songs seem to have a decent length, more than a quick two or three minute song; nine tunes for fifty-one minutes in total.

Crehated have many elements that seem to be working well on “Anthems of Hate.” I would like to see what happens to their music as they mold their craft. This could be pretty potent stuff in a few years.
