However, I'm going to concentrate on the music. There isn't much new on this EP. Most of these tracks can be found on the last album "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa" in one way or another. 3 of these tracks are demo versions listed as "Elder versions" — "Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)," "The Persecution Song," and "The Spawn of Love And War." An extended version of "Lilith Immaculate" is also on this disc, which takes this song over the eight minute mark. A techno version of "Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)" with the alternate title "Forgive Me Father (I'm In A Trance)" doesn't really do anything for me. The EP ends with an orchestrated version of the "Summer Dying Fast" from the "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh" album. So besides the first two tracks, this is just an alternate version disc. Starting off the disc is a track entitled "Transmission from Hell." This is more of an eerie intro, that sets an aura for the songs to come. "Thank Your Lucky Scars" is really the only new song on this EP. There are some catchy riffs and atmospheres on the tune. But the demo versions of the tracks from the "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa" are ok, though I prefer the songs on the album. I have yet to see the DVD part of this EP, but from what I understand it is the better part of this two disc set, too bad I'm reviewing the music part. It's just kinda weak otherwise. If your a huge fan of Cradle of Filth you probably need this for your collection. Otherwise you may want to stay away from the music side of "Evermore Darkly." Rating: 58 Reviewed By: Jeffrey D.
