Humans cause all the problems of the world, as
the very first lyrics would suggest on Cattle
Decapitation song “Unintelligent Design”… “Goddamn
humans and their stupid ideas…” That should give you a feel
for Cattle Decapitation’s pissed-off, anti-human, pro-vegetarian lyrics
and attitude. “Karma.Bloody.Karma” showcases some of the bands
most meaningful lyrics of their ten years of existence, not to mention this
CD is brutal as hell itself. For those who haven’t heard this intense
mayhem before, they are brutal death metal/gore-grind in the vein of bands
like Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Neurosis, Cannibal Corpse,
Cephalic Carnage, etc. The guttural death vocals remind me quite a bit of
Ross from Immolation, but the higher pitched screams are somewhat like Corpsegrinder
(Cannibal Corpse), maybe only a little. Lots of heavy guitar riffs and powerful
drums blasts are as pummeling and aggressive as an elephant in heat. Billy
Anderson of the Swans, Melvins and Mr. Bungle fame produced, engineered
and mixed “Karma.Bloody.Karma.” One final note, there are guest
appearances from Joey Karan (The Locust), and John Wiese (Sunn0)), Bastard
Noise). “Karma.Bloody.Karma” is heavy, damn heavy.
