Bloodbath - Unblessing The Purity (Peaceville Records) - Back
“Unblessing the Purity” features four brand new tracks of pure death metal. Bloodbath is an extreme metal super group from Sweden. Formed in 1998, the band had a mutual appreciation of the glory days of death metal. Since then, the band’s line up has changed and evolved throughout the years, featuring the elite of Swedish metal. Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) has rejoined the band, bringing along his unique brutal vocal and guitar talents. Opeth are currently in the process of writing and recording there new album, which is why Mikael didn’t have the time to involve himself into a full length Bloodbath album.

“Unblessing The Purity” also features the talents of Martin “Axe” Axenrot (Opeth) Drums, Anders “Blakkheim” Nystrom (Katatonia) Guitars, Jonas Renkse (Katatonia) Bass and Per “Sodomizer” Eriksson also on Guitar.

This EP is an uncompromising full on brutal death metal attack at its most extreme.

Bloodbath are not for the weak, they are ultra brutal, fast, uncompromising, blasphemous death metal. Opening track “Blasting the Virginborn” will rip your head off with its shear intensity. Other track titles include, “Weak Aside,” “Sick Salvation” and “Mouth of Empty Praise.”

With so many death metal bands floating around today, it’s good to hear real talent shine through the crap.
